This article aims to illustrate how the French elite obtain reading habits enabling to acquire language capital in French. These habits are said to contribute to the formation of the elite in France. We analyze narratives about language capital and reading habits from the life stories given by seven members of the French elite. As a result, it becomes clear that their reading habits were acquired after prompting by parents and relatives. Especially when their parents were teachers, they tended to become strongly conscious of reading. Accordingly, home education conducted with the consciousness of the importanceof reading must affect their reading habits in such a way as to enable them subsequently to acquire language capital.

プレースメント用のスピーキングテストは,大勢が短時間で受験でき,判定が簡便で,信頼性や妥当性の高いテストが理想である。そこで,筆者らはテストタスクと,ルーブリックと音声サンプルによる判定ツールの開発に着手した。テストの信頼性や妥当性を検証するため,開発した判定ツールを用いて初級から上級の受験者32名の「断り」のタスク結果を日本語教師4名に判定してもらう実験を行った。判定結果は,プレースメント時の読解などの受容能力より産出能力を示す作文と,リスニング要素を含むSPOTとの相関が高かったことから基準関連妥当性を一定程度満たしていると言える。判定者間の一貫性や相関も高く,受験者1名あたりの判定時間が1~2分であったことからも,本タスクと判定ツールは,簡便で一定の信頼性も確保できていると言える。ただし,中級の判定は初級や上級より難しいことがうかがわれた。

本報告では,昭和戦前期から戦災復興期にかけて内務省や建設省の土木エンジニア,建設官僚として活躍した都市計画家町田保(1903-1967)に着目し,町田の著した論考や書籍,公文書や事業記録などの資料を用いて,町田の経歴や仕事を整理するとともに,代表的な仕事の特徴や町田の考え方について把握することを目的とする.町田に関する年表作成と資料分析を行った結果,戦災復興都市計画では帝都復興事業での経験や知見を生かし,戦災復興院及び建設省の土木エンジニアとして中心的役割を担ったこと,首都建設計画では首都建設委員会事務局長として,戦前の地方計画の研究や戦後のアメリカ都市計画の視察に関する経験を生かし,東京を中心とする衛星都市整備計画や首都高速道路計画の立案に尽力したことなどが把握できた.

Western leaders and mass media, including their Japanese counterparts, quick to claim "victory" in the cold war, never took a close look at the "losers". It was assumed that Russians would take to Western forms of economic and polifical development as eagerly as they had bought Western jeans and rock music tapes on the black market. The West's, that is, our biggest mistake was to have expected more than Russia was able to become. We did not fully understand how sick Soviet society was. There was, on top of everything else, no trusted new "elite" to replace the old. A truly non-partisan civil service has always eluded Russian governments. And the so-called democrats or reformers in power are themselves nomenklatura people, their children and their acquaintances. In a word, the system never collapsed after August, 1991, despite the appearance. S. Handelman, Canadian joumalist and author of ≪Comrade Criminal≫, elucidates, in his work, that the bureaucrats and managers of the former regime acquired new capital and political strength by exploiting the legal vacuum left by departing Communist authorities. Thus, a post-Soviet mafiya emerged, in corporating (1)the most entrepreneurial element of the former nomenklatura and (2)the gangster capitalism of the new. The Comrade criminal-the personification of this new force that combines the just mentioned two elements-is now setting the rules of game in Russia. Inspired by Mr. Handelman's sardonic insight, I try to trace here, both on local and national level, though in a very sketchy way, how the nomenklatura suruives. And by drawing this sketch, I want to clarify the essence of the organisation, that had been called the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

【⽬的】⼈⼯膝関節全置換術(Total knee arthroplasty:以下,TKA)の適応となった末期変形性膝関節症患者における術前の⽣活空間に影響する要因を検討することとした。【⽅法】対象者数は70 名であった。TKA 前に⽣活空間(Life-space assessment:以下,LSA),Timed up & go test(以下,TUG),痛みに関連する因⼦を評価し,LSA に影響する要因を調査した。運動恐怖の評価では,対象となる動作を聴取した。【結果】LSA を従属変数とした重回帰分析の結果,TUG と運動恐怖が独⽴して関連していた。また,恐怖の対象となる動作は,対象者全体の67.1% が階段昇降と回答した。【結論】TKA の適応となった末期変形性膝関節症患者の⽣活空間にはTUG と運動恐怖が影響することが明らかになった。また,対象者の67.1% が恐怖の対象となる動作を階段昇降と回答した。

The Cartesian grid-based CFD is very easy to generate a grid and can be easily applied to the analysis of complex geometries. These requirements are essential for CFD to become a general-purpose tool that can be used by beginners, and the Cartesian grid-based CFD is one of the most promising candidates. On the other hand, it is recognized that the Cartesian grid method still has some problems in reproducing object shapes and handling solid wall boundaries compared to CFD with boundary-fitted grids because the cell interfaces do not fit to the object surface. In this paper, we introduce the “Workshop on Cartesian Grid-based CFD” held at the Fluid Dynamics Conference / Aerospace Numerical Simulation Symposium (held at the end of June or the beginning of July every year). In this workshop, we set up benchmark problems to solve the aforementioned problems, and asked participants to bring the results to the workshop for discussion to improve Cartesian grid-based CFD. We introduce the results of the last workshop and would like to invite new participants to the workshop.
