〔目的〕閉鎖筋の筋活動を賦活するのに適した運動負荷を検討すること.〔対象〕腰部および下肢に器質的疾患を持たない成人男性11名とした.〔方法〕高負荷の課題1(60°/sec)と無負荷の課題2(500°/sec)における等速性股関節外旋運動前後で,MRIのT2強調画像から内閉鎖筋,外閉鎖筋,大殿筋,中殿筋,縫工筋のMR信号強度率を抽出し比較した.〔結果〕抽出された課題1において内閉鎖筋,外閉鎖筋,中殿筋,縫工筋で,課題2において内閉鎖筋,外閉鎖筋,縫工筋で,運動前に比べ運動後にMR信号強度率が有意に上昇した.〔結語〕速筋線維を多く含む閉鎖筋に対しては,高負荷のみならず無負荷の運動も筋活動を得ることを可能にすると考える.

視覚並びに聴覚サブリミナル効果の有無について検証するために, 3年前から情動の変化を皮膚電気活動(EDA:Electrodermal Activity)並びに精神性発汗(Emotional Sweating)に変換して測定し, その結果をもとに検討している.本稿では, そのうち視覚サブリミナル知覚の検証を中心に述べる.標本には, 映像情報として中性刺激と見なせる構成のビデオ映像約9分に性的興奮を惹起させると期待される画像・文字を1/30秒間並びに1〜2秒間ランダムに11の挿入カット(文字2種, 画像9種)をランダムに2回づつ計22カ所に挿入し視聴させた.被験者は男子学生22名である.この結果, カットを挿入した映像を視聴した場合には, 皮膚電気活動並びに発汗量の変化については, 情動に有意な変化が見られたが, 無挿入の映像を視聴した場合には, 明確な変化は見られなかった.したがって, 映像情報については, 視覚サブリミナル知覚の存在を否定できないという結果を得た.

We performed a physio-psychological research on the mental, physical relaxation and health-keeping effect of <i>Shinrin-yoku</i> (forest walking) in Kawaba village. Eleven male and 8 female healthy elderly residents in Kawaba village, whose average age was 74.0±3.5 years old for male and 74.9±2.9 years old for females volunteered for this experiment. All members walked for one hour in the Kawaba Forest on August 17 under cloudy skies, 30-32°C temperature, 58-60% humidity, and, 0-2m/sec wind condition and walked again for another one hour in a non-forest rural agricultural area on August 21 under almost the same weather conditions. Phytoncides in the air, Profile of Mood State (POMS) test, blood pressure (BP), heart rate (HR), fasting levels of serum natural killer cell activity (NK), plasma catecholamine (adrenaline, noradrenalin and dopamine), plasma cortisol, and serum adiponectin were measured before and after walking. Phytoncides were detected in the forest and non-forest, all members showed a decrease of POMS total scale, BP, adrenalin and serum cortisol. Six (3 male and 3 female subjects) of them expressed an increase of serum NK cell activity after the forest-walking. One female showed a high serum NK cell activity after both forest and non-forest rural walking.<br>Our experiment on the forest-walking in Kawaba village indicated that its relaxation and health-keeping effects, probably due to walking in the fresh forest air.

Data obtained from all residents, who lived in the Agano river villages where Minamata disease occurred as of June 1965, were used to analyze its incidence patterns and to evaluate validity of the official recognition of the disease. The residents totaled 18, 253 (8, 911 males and 9, 342 females), including 262 (151 males and 111 females) recognized patients and 378 (186 males and 192 females) rejected applicants.Consumption of the contaminated river fish was associated with hair Hg measurements (ppm), but there were few residents who denied the consumption but showed elevated Hg values, probably due to false-negative answers in the census survey in 1965.Incidence rates of the recognized patients increased with the upgrading codes for fish ingestion, but analysis of the association of fish ingestion among the recognized applicants indicated that there were ca. 50% false-positive diagnosis. This analysis showed that The Government made best efforts to help very mild cases despite the fact that such a generous attitude inevitably causes overdiagnosis.Incidence rates of the rejected applicants also showed a dose-response. This is extremely important because a rejection meant that compensation was refused by the polluting company. Protest groups insisted the existence of Minamata disease showing only sensony symptoms. but this concept has not been accepted by the Government and the polluters. The present study disclosed a doseresponse relationship in the rejected cases giving positive ground for the opinions proposed by protest groups.Proportions of such “Hg-associated sensory disorders” (cases with unexplained sensory disorders which are associated with river fish ingestion) were 15-30% among the exposed applicants, 6.6-15% among the all rejected applicants, and 3.9-10% among the unexplained sensory disorders in the regional population.Owing to the river pollution, there was 5-11% increase of the unexplained sensory disorders among the local residents, in addition to recognizable Minamata disease.

島根県浜田市の中部中新統唐鐘累層畳ヶ浦砂岩部層下部で見られた皿状およびレンズ状の貝殻密集部の形成メカニズムと形成プロセスを, 生痕学的ならびに古生物学的観点から検討した. 明瞭なポットホール状の形態が識別できないことを別にすれば, これらの貝殻密集部の形態と内部構造の特徴は共産する生痕化石Piscichnus waitemata の充填物として見られる化石密集部のそれに酷似する. Piscichnus waitemata は一部エイ類の摂食活動によって形成された構造物と考えられており, 皿状およびレンズ状の貝殻密集部もエイ類の摂食活動による生物攪拌起源である可能性が極めて高い. 皿状およびレンズ状の貝殻密集部が母岩中に孤立して産出する理由として, (1) P. waitemata の充填物と母岩の質的および粒度の差異が極めて少ないこと, (2) 後から形成されたP. waitemata による破壊や上書き, そして内在型底生動物による生物攪拌作用などによって, P. waitemata の上部の形態情報が消去されてしまったこと, などが考えられる.

地域のソーシャル・キャピタル、即ち人々の結束や信頼を高めるような社会的ネットワーク資源の醸成が、高齢者の健康維持に貢献することが期待されている。しかし、健康資源が人的ネットワークを介してどのように伝達し、個人の健康へと影響していくかについては明らかになっていない。本研究では、数理社会学の「ネットワーク分析」手法を用いて、高齢者のネットワークのダイナミズムと健康との関連を理解することを目的として、ネットワーク分析手法の公衆衛生領域への応用を試み、また、そのための課題整理を行った。初年度に山梨県A町の全高齢者を対象に健康状態、社会経済状況、心理社会状況、生活習慣、および社会的ネットワーク等に関する郵送質問紙調査を行った。2年目以降は、山梨県内で歴史的に継続実施されてきている無尽講(回転型貯蓄金融講)やその他の地域活動へ参加している人を対象に訪問調査を実施し、各無尽講のグループ内、およびグループ間の関係性に関する量的・質的データを構築した。このデータを日本老年学的評価研究データと個人リンケージして分析した結果、ソーシャル・キャピタルが、個人のメンタルヘルス(抑うつ傾向)に対して抑制的に関与し、ネットワーク内における情緒サポートの授受の関与が示唆された。また、無尽講への参加には二面性があり、楽しみながら高強度に参加している場合死亡リスクを下げるが、掛け金が高すぎるストレスフルなグループへの参加は逆効果となることが明らかになった。本研究により、地域組織を媒体としたネットワークデータが公衆衛生研究へと応用可能であることがわかった。また、大規模調査においてネットワークデータを取得する際の課題が整理できた。本研究は基盤研究A「高齢者における健康の社会的決定要因に関する大規模パネル調査(代表:近藤尚己)」へと引き継がれ、今後長期の縦断的な分析を進めていく。

Oil mist generated in commercial kitchens has a serious influence on worker's health and may make an odor problem. Therefore many research works have been recently reported on oil mist emitted from cooking equipment such as fryers and griddles in USA (ASHRAE 745-RP Final Report etc.) and in Japan. In this paper, particle size distributions emitted from griddle and fryer were measured with two measurement systems (WPS and SMPS/APS) and the results showed that size of almost all particles was under 1μm. However oil mist includes relatively large particles over 1μm which should not be neglected when cleanness in kitchen especially in the vicinity of cooking equipment is discussed. This paper also examined the aerosol dynamics of oil mist under 1μm. The results showed gravitational settling, coagulation and Brownian diffusion had no important effect on oil mist distribution in kitchens and oil mist under 1μm can be treated as passive scalar in CFD simulation.

Various flower colors are in great part due to anthocyanins. Recently, we have elucidated two new mechanisms for blue flower color development on blue cornflower and blue morning glory. The composition of protocyanin, a blue pigment from cornflower, Centaurea cyanus, was determined to consist of six molecules of succinylcyanins (Sucy), six molecules of malonylflavones (Mafl), one ferric ion and one magnesium ion, [Sucy6Mafl6Fe3+Mg2+]. The blue color of protocyanin was due to the LMCT (Ligand to Metal Charge Transfer) interaction between Sucy and Fe3+. The structure of protocyanin was examined by using Al, Mg-protocyanin. The gross structure is much similar to that of commelinin. The pigment of blue morning glory, Ipomoea tricolor, is an triacylated anthocyanin, HBA. We measured the vacuoler pH of the petal of morning glory by using a proton selective micro electrode. The pHv of the petal of purplish red bud was 6.6 and that of blue open flower petal was 7.7. The anhydrobase anion of HBA must be stabilized by intramolecular stacking. We could solve 80 year's problems, one is about cornflower's pigment and the other is the evidence of the pH theory. In both cases hydrophobic interaction followed by formation of supra-molecule is the key of stabilization of anthocyanidin chromophore.

条野伝平は、今ではほぼ忘れられた作家であるが、幕末には山々亭有人の号で人情本の作者として人気を博していた。明治維新後の条野は、一旦創作活動から手を引き、新興の新聞界に身を転じる。彼が『東京日日新聞』を経て一八八六年に創刊した『やまと新聞』は、連載小説を売りにする典型的な小新聞として大成功をおさめた。同紙では条野自身も採菊散人の号で創作活動を再開し、ふたつのシェイクスピア物を残している。本論は、そのうちのひとつである『三人令嬢』(一八九〇)と題された『リア王』を読み解く試みである。幕末・維新の動乱期を経て新聞界へ転身する条野の生涯を素描したうえで、『三人令嬢』の概要を紹介し、同作が、探偵小説という当時の最先端の流行を取り入れて新しい読者への訴求を図りつつ、戊辰戦争期の諷刺錦絵的手法を援用して旧幕以来の古い読者のノスタルジーにも応える、したたかで豊かなテクストであることを明らかにする。

発症早期の座位で脳卒中の再発・進行頻度が増えるか否かを検討した.対象は発症後第7病日以内入院の全脳卒中患者384人.入院第14日以内の意識障害,片麻痺などの悪化を再発・進行とした.座位耐性訓練以外に,来院時・診察時・看護上の座位なども座位に含めた.その結果,入院後14日以内の死亡を含めた再発・進行は,(1)早期座位の対象となる入院第1病日の意識障害清明,または1桁の患者281人のうち42人(14.9%)でみられ,(2)入院第1日に座位にした群で21/200人(10.5%)と座位にしなかった群の21/81人(25.9%)よりむしろ低かった.(3)重症度・病型・病巣部位・全身状態の安定度などで層別化しても結果は同様で,早期座位を施行しても再発・進行は増えていなかった.

血液脳関門が有する強固な密着結合は、中枢神経系疾患の薬物療法の発達を妨げている要因の1つである。血液脳関門で形成されるバリアのうち、特に1kDa以下の分子の脳内への流入を制限する密着結合の形成にはclaudin-5(CLDN-5)が必須であり、CLDN-5のバリア機能の阻害による血液脳関門突破法の開発が期待されている。当研究グループは近年このCLDN-5の機能を阻害することが可能な抗体の開発に成功し、この抗体によるバリア制御技術について報告してきた。本稿では、筆者らが抗CLDN-5抗体を取得するためにとったアプローチと取得した抗体のCLDN-5阻害活性、また密着結合制御技術の中枢神経系疾患治療への応用の可能性について紹介する。

顆粒球コロニー形成刺激因子(granulocyte-colony stimulating factor:G-CSF)製剤は、骨髄中の好中球前駆細胞に存在するG-CSF受容体に結合し、好中球前駆細胞から好中球への分化を促進することで、末梢血中の好中球数を増加させる。フィルグラスチムのN末端にポリエチレングリコール(polyethylene glycol:PEG)を結合させ、血中半減期を延長することで作用を持続させた持続型G-CSF製剤ペグフィルグラスチムは、化学療法の副作用の1つである発熱性好中球減少症を有意に抑えるだけでなく、化学療法の治療強度を高めることもできる。PEG製剤の開発により、がん治療が今後さらに発展していくことが期待される。

This paper presents an optimum design method considering structural performances and Kansei, which has been becoming an important issue for product designs with maturation of consumer demands. The response surface methodology combined with the design of experiment technique is applied to a bicycle frame design problem. The strength and the rigidity calculated by FEM are used as the evaluation functions for the structural performances. Three dimensional rendering models are constructed with computer graphics software, and used for the Kansei evaluation. The Kansei performances such as “individual” and “elegant” are evaluated by the Semantic Differentials technique and quantified. A road-bicycle frame is focused on as an application example of this method. Sizes of the cross section at both ends, position and angle of rotation at the midpoint of each frame are defined as the design variables to be optimized. By using the response surfaces between the design variables and the performances, the form of road-bicycle frame is optimized under various objectives and constraints. The form with the optimized design variables is visualized with the CG software.
