第32次南極地域観測隊(JARE-32)夏隊のセールロンダーネ山地地学調査隊は, 1990年12月24日あすか観測拠点を出発し, 1991年2月7日に再び「あすか」に帰り着くまでセールロンダーネ山地中央部で, 地形・地質・雪氷調査を行い測地作業も実施した。雪上車とスノーモービルを利用してキャンプを移動しながら調査するという従来と同じ行動様式をとったため, 設営面でもおおかたはこれまでの方式と同じである。地学調査は, 地形では, 野外実験地の撤収, 岩石の風化の調査, モレーン・ティルのマッピング, 地質では, 構成岩石の形成順序の解明, 構造地質学的・構造岩石学的そして地球化学的研究のためのサンプリング, 測地では, 重力測量, 地磁気測量, GPSによる基準点測量が行われた。ベルギーからの交換科学者は氷河流動・氷厚などを測定した。The Sor Rondane field party as part of the summer party of the 32nd Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE-32) carried out geomorphological, geological, geodetic, and glaciological fieldworks in the central area of the Sor Rondane Mountains for 45 days from December 24,1990 to February 7,1991. The field trip was conducted by two parties, consisting of 9 persons, traveling from mountains to mountains to shift tented camps using 4 snow vehicles towing their equipments on sledges behind. Nine snowmobiles (motor toboggans) were used for their field researches on glaciers. Geomorphologists carried out measurements in the periglacial field experimental sites, observations of rock weathering, and mapping of chronological sequence of tills and moraines. Geologists studied chronological sequence of rock formation and collected rock specimens for structural, petrological, and chemical analyses. A surveyor set up geodetic control stations using GPS satellite positioning system and made gravity surveys on glaciers as well as at some control stations. Two Belgian glaciologists took part in the fieldwork as exchange scientists and studied dynamics of glacier movement and ice thickness.

神奈川県横須賀市の湘南国際村は,三井不動産が開発した複合都市。その中心に位置する約290戸の戸建て分譲住宅地は,相模湾を見下ろす丘の上にある。 95年から分譲を開始した同社では,約2年前から建築家の起用を販売の目玉にしたシリーズを展開してきた。これまで3回のプロジェクトに分けて4区画ずつ,12戸の住宅を5人の建築家が設計。いずれも即日完売と,好評を博している。

ヒトには1,000種,100兆細胞を超える細菌が共生していると言われている.特に腸管内に共生する腸内細菌叢(腸内マイクロバイオーム)は,もう一つの臓器とも呼ばれており,ヒトの健康状態やさまざまな疾病に関与していることが示唆されている.近年,細菌群集を研究する新たな方法として,メタゲノム解析と呼ばれる新たな研究手法が開発され,ヒト共生細菌研究は大きな飛躍を見せている.特に共生微生物研究が医療分野に与える影響とその可能性には大きな期待が寄せられている.本報ではこれまでの研究成果を踏まえ,①メタゲノム解析と腸内マイクロバイオーム,②近年の国内外の動向や発見,③医療との関係,さらに,④実際の応用に向けての可能性,について紹介していきたい.

近年予防医療のニーズが高まり,家庭向けの医療機器が普及してきており,ディジタル聴診器も登場してき1ている.本研究では,ウェアラブルデバイスに内蔵されたディジタル聴診器によってユーザの心音をいつでもどこでも採取することを目指している.この場合にディジタル聴診器による心音採取をすると,周囲からの環境雑音が入り混んだり,体の動きにより雑音が重畳したりすることが予想される.本研究では,こうした周囲環境雑音や体動に起因する突発的な非定常性雑音を1チャネルの聴診器信号から抑圧する方法を検討した.線形予測分析を用いて白色化された残差信号を非定常性雑音成分として推定し,残差信号のパワーと入力信号のパワーの比のよりスペクトルを補正する処理を加えた方式を提案した.結果,常に雑音スペクトルを更新するスペクトルサブトラクション法に比べて,平均SNROdB 以下の条件でスペクトル歪みを2.2dB,雑音抑圧量を3.4dB改善した.

本研究は, Midzuno(2004)のモデルに従い, 良好な対人関係を形成・維持する際に, どのような社会的スキルが関連するかを検討することを目的とした。大学生および専門学校生188名(男子99名, 女子89名)に質問紙調査を実施し, 思い浮かべた1名の人物について, そのパーソナリティ特性(外向性, 協調性), さまざまな社会的スキル(関係開始, 自己主張, 関係維持)およびその人物との関係性(関係の良好度)を回答させた。モデルに従ってパス解析を行ったところ, 関係維持スキルは良好な関係性と正の関連を持つのに対して, 自己主張や関係開始スキルは関連しないかむしろ負の関連を持つことが示された。パスを整理し, 再度分析を行ったところ, 社会的スキルは外向性を背景とした関係開始・自己主張スキルと, 協調性を背景とした関係維持スキルに分かれ, しかも, 関係開始・自己主張スキル(および外向性)は良好な対人関係に直接関連しないことが示された。これらの結果をもとに, 関係の開始から維持にかけて, 表現性スキルと感受性・制御スキルとの間に機能的な役割の交代が生じている可能性が示唆された。

The blood serotonin level was measured in 144 subjects consisting of 23 normal subjects, 84 patients with bronchial asthma, 13 with nasal allergy, 16 with other pulmonary diseases and 8 with urticaria. In asthmatic patients, the data were specifically examined with reference to the other clinical and laboratory test results. The results were as follows;1. The blood serotonin level in 23 normal subjects was within the range of 0.081±0.02μg/ml and there was no sexual difference.2. The blood serotonin level was 0.108±0.027μg/ml in asthmatic patients, 0.120±0.013μg/ml in nasal allergy and 0.113±0.023μg/ml in urticaria. These values were signifantly higher than that in the normal subjects (p<0.01). The value in other pulmonary diseases tended to be higher than the normal but the difference was statistically insignificant.3. Among different types of asthma, atopic type showed significantly higher blood serotonin level than the others (p<0.01). When the measurement was made in the subjects during their asthmatic attack, the value was evidently higher than in those in attack-free interval. In particular, the difference was statistically significant if the comparison was made within the same subject (p<0.01).4. The blood serotonin level in the group showing positive skin reaction to allergen was higher than that in the negative group (p<0.001). However, there was no positive correlation between the blood serotonin level and serum IgE or the blood histamin level.5. The blood serotonin level in type I and type II groups of CMI test was higher than that in type III and type IV groups (p<0.02). On the other hand, the results of Yatabe-Gilford test showed no positive correlation with the blood serotonin level.6. There was a tendency toward decreasing blood serotonin level following the treatment with β-stimulator and corticosteroid. However, there was no change in the blood serotonin level by hyposensitization or gold therapy.

This paper aims at acquiring robust feature for rotation-, scale-, and translation-invariant image matching from a space-variant image by a fovea sensor. A proposed model of eccentric compensator corrects deformation in a log-polar image when the fovea sensor is not centered at a target image, that is, eccentricity exists. An image simulator in discrete space implements this model by its geometrical formulation. This paper also proposes Unreliable Feature Omission (UFO) using Discrete Wavelet Transform. UFO reduces local high frequency noise appeared in the space-variant image when the eccentricity changes. It discards coefficients when they are regarded as unreliable, based on digitized errors of the input image by the fovea sensor. The first simulation estimates the compensator by comparing with other polar images. This result shows the compensator works well and its root mean square error (RMSE) changes only by up to 2.54 [%], in condition of the eccentricity within 34.08 [°]. The second simulation shows UFO works well for the log-polar image remapped by the eccentricity compensator, when white Gaussian noise (WGN) is added. The result by Daubechies (7, 9) biorthogonal wavelet shows UFO reduces the RMSE by up to 0.40 [%] even if the WGN is not added, when the eccentricity is within 34.08 [°].
