野母崎町地先で1998年9月に, クロメの葉状部が欠損し, 著しい場合は茎だけとなる現象が観察された。その後, この現象は野母崎町地先のみならず, 県下全域に及んでいることが分かった。発生状況や症状等から生理障害とは考えられなかった。一方, 本症状を起こした葉体には高い割合で縁辺に特徴ある弧状の痕跡が認められ, その形状は魚類による摂食痕に酷似していた。また, 葉体が欠損する症状は, 口之津等でオオバモクにみられた他は同一場所に生育しているホンダワラ類やツルアラメには認められなかった。

In Japan after World War I, the population of the big cities increased with the growth of the heavy and chemical industries in urban areas, resulting in a widening of gaps in regional development. During the 1930s, the government urged factories to relocate from the cities in order to narrow the gaps. Moreover, the government assisted in the evacuation of munitions factories, above all the strategically important machine shops, to avoid air strikes during the Pacific War.Although not as many machine shops dispersed geographically as the government had anticipated, the agglomeration of small-to-medium-sized machine shops did accelerate, and the experience of learning by making various types of machines was acquired by many local cities as a result. Machine production increased remarkably in these local cities after World War II, enabling regional small-to-medium-sized shops to contribute substantially to the Era of the High-Speed Growth in the 1960s.

本研究の目的は,統計的リテラシーにおける批判的思考態度の構造を明らかにすること,および統計的リテラシーのスキルに関係する批判的思考スキルは何かを明らかにすることである.まず,質問紙調査を実施し,「数値やデータへの関心」,「懐疑的・複眼的な見方」,「他者との関わり」の3因子から構成される態度に関する尺度を開発した.次に,統計的リテラシーのスキルを測定するテストと,複数の批判的思考スキルを測定するテスト,作成した尺度を含めた質問紙調査を実施し,これらの相関を検討した.その結果,統計的リテラシーの得点と全ての批判的思考スキルの得点に正の相関がみられた.また,統計的リテラシーの得点と尺度の得点には有意な相関がみられなかったことから,統計的リテラシーにおける批判的思考態度を有していても,統計情報を適切に解釈できるとは限らないことが考察された.

3種のBordetella 属菌(B. pertussis,B. parapertussis,B. holmesii)の同時検出をコンベンショナルPCR 法で試みた.4 種の挿入配列遺伝子(IS481,IS1001,IS1002 およびhIS1001)を増幅ターゲットとする 4 組のプライマーを混合したマルチプレックス法で,選択的な検出が可能となった.検出限界は 3 種の Bordetella 属菌の各 DNA 濃度として 5fg/μL であった.なお,低濃度のB. pertussis とB. holmesii の確認には,LAMP 法も併用した. 本法を 2012 年度に感染症発生動向調査の定点医療機関から百日咳疑いで搬入された病原体検査の 42 検体(咽頭ぬぐい液 23 件,鼻腔ぬぐい液 19 件)に適用し,12 検体から B. pertussis を検出した.このうち 8 検体は,保育所を中心とする集団発生事例のものである.病原体サーベイランスにおいて,本法は 3 種の Bordetella 属菌の検査を同時にかつ低コストで行うことができた.

カンキツは,果実に様々なカロテノイドが含まれる.カンキツ果実のカロテノイド含量および組成は,品種間において非常に多様である.ウンシュウミカン(Citrus unshiu Marc.)は,砂じょうに β-クリプトキサンチンを主に集積する.バレンシアオレンジ(Citrus sinensis Osbeck)は,砂じょうに主にビオラキサンチンを集積する.リスボンレモン(Citrus limon Burm.f.)は,砂じょうに低レベルのカロテノイドを集積する.カンキツ果実の成熟過程におけるカロテノド集積メカニズムを解明するために,カロテノイドプロフィールの異なる上記カンキツ 3 種を用いて,カロテノイド生合成および代謝分解に関わる遺伝子の発現を比較,調査した.その結果,カンキツ果実のフラベドおよび砂じょうにおけるカロテノイドの集積は,カロテノイド生合成および代謝分解に関わる遺伝子の発現により,高度に調節されていることが明らかとなった.‘たまみ’は,‘清見’(Citrus unshiu Marc. × Citrus sinensis Osbeck)に‘ウィルキング’(Citrus nobilis Lour. × Citrus deliciosa Ten.)を交雑して,育成された品種である.砂じょうに,ウンシュウミカンより多く β-クリプトキサンチンを蓄積する‘たまみ’における β-クリプトキサンチンの集積メカニズムを解明するために,‘たまみ’のカロテノイド生合成および代謝分解に関わる遺伝子の発現を調査した.その結果,‘たまみ’における β-クリプトキサンチンの集積メカニズムは,ウンシュウミカンと同様のメカニズムであることが明らかとなった.また,最近の研究では,培養した砂じょうを用いて,カロテノイド含量および組成を調節する要因について調査した.

〔目的〕足把持力と足関節周囲筋との関係について明らかにすることとした.〔対象と方法〕健康な男子大学生8名を対象とした.足把持力の計測は,足指筋力測定器を用いて任意の片足とした.最大把持時における前脛骨筋,腓腹筋外側頭,母趾外転筋,短趾屈筋の筋活動量を計測した.〔結果〕足把持力と筋活動量との関係において,前脛骨筋,母趾外転筋,短趾屈筋との間に正の相関関係が認められた.〔結語〕足把持力と筋活動量の関係が明らかになった.足把持力には,母趾だけでなく全ての趾が重要であることが考えられ,全ての足趾を鍛えることが重要であると推察された.

要旨:歩行運動は,自動的な側面を持つことに加え,加齢の影響を受ける。そのため,転倒を引き起こす何らかの影響を受けることが推察され,研究がされてきた。つまずきによる転倒の原因と考えられていたToe clearance(以下TC)は,高齢者では常に低下しているわけではなく,体幹動揺や歩行遊期中の膝・足関節角度のばらつきがTC のばらつきを生じさせ,TC が低い歩行周期中に偶発的に転倒に結びついている可能性がある。そのTC は,無意識かつ受動的に作られるため,遊脚期中に下肢筋活動の再現性を高めることが重要になる。その方法として,直接的に体幹を安定させることもあるが,遊脚期側下肢を支える立脚期,特に立脚中期から前遊脚期にかけての土台である足部・足趾機能の向上も選択肢の1つとなる。この足部・足趾機能を代表するものに足趾把持力があり,姿勢制御,前方への推進力の作用もあると推測されている。足趾把持力は,足趾屈筋のみならず,足部の柔軟性や下腿筋の同時収縮,特に前脛骨筋の筋活動量が重要である。このように歩行時の下肢末梢部の作用・機能は,転倒防止やバランス機能,運動制御の観点からも重要であるため,着目していく必要がある。

Until now, the sundial has hardly been made especially in pursuit of accuracy and function. The typical sundial indicating the time at the angle of the shadow of edge lines has no structure to correct the atmospheric refraction. On the other hand, the sundial using a two-dimensional dial for reading at the center position of the shadow of a sphere provides a precise design so that not only the time difference by equation of time and longitude but also atmospheric refraction can be corrected. This"astronomical precise sundial"uses a two-dimensional dial, and it is a precise and highly functional sundial designed and manufactured in pursuit of the possiblity of the sundial from the viewpoint of astronomers. As the functions of this sundial, the local sidereal time can be directly read for the first time in the world, and the various information such as the sunrise and sunset times and the azimuth and altitude of the sun can be obtained.

日蓮が書いたとされる文章、通称日蓮遺文は非常に多く現存しているが、その真偽については、未だにその評価が定まっていないものも多い。真偽の問題については、現在もなお研究者間で意見が分かれており、明確な基準が存在しない。特に近年は日蓮遺文中にみられる中古天台思想の濃淡という、これまで大きな判断基準とされてきたものが揺らぎつつある。こうした現状を受けて本稿では、日蓮の文章中に見られる説話の内容及びその受容の可能性から、日蓮遺文の真偽判別の可能性を提示した。その結果、これまで真蹟とされてきたいくつかの文献について、疑わしい可能性があることを示すことができた。こうした判定は、これまで行われておらず、日蓮の文章における真偽判定の問題に一石を投じることが出来ると思われる。同時に、説話を用いての真偽判定は、日蓮滅後の門下における偽書作成の土壌を確認し、彼らによる齟齬を見つけ出すのにも有効であると考えられるのである。

Aims: Serum uric acid increases with metabolic disorders; however, whether the effects of uric acid on atherosclerosis are different in females and males has not been sufficiently evaluated. Therefore, this study compared the impact of uric acid on arterial stiffness and atherosclerosis between females and males. Methods: We enrolled 10196 untreated middle-aged subjects (46±8 years, 3021 females and 7175 males) who underwent periodic health check-ups. Serum uric acid levels were measured and arterial stiffness and atherosclerosis were assessed by the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI), carotid intima-media thickness (IMT), and plaque, using ultrasound imaging. Results: Females with increased arterial stiffness (CAVI ≥ 8.0) or carotid plaques had higher uric acid than those without (P<0.0001), but males did not. In multivariable regression analyses including overall participants, uric acid was significantly associated with the CAVI, where sex interacted with uric acid. In sex-specific analyses, uric acid was significantly associated with the CAVI, but not with carotid IMT, in both sexes. However, logistic regression analyses revealed that serum uric acid was independently associated with the presence of carotid plaques in females. The exclusion of subjects with abdominal obesity or metabolic syndrome from the analysis did not alter the results in females. Conclusions: Serum uric acid was significantly associated with the CAVI in both sexes, but the interaction of sex was confirmed and associated with a carotid plaque only in females. These findings support the increased impact of serum uric acid on arterial stiffness and atherosclerosis in females.

Japan will host the 2019 Rugby World Cup, the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and the 2021 Kansai World Masters Games. To ensure the success of these events, understanding each event’s impact is extremely important for governments and organizing bodies. However, the structure and influencing factors of event impact are poorly understood in Japan, despite research on event impacts conducted previously in western countries. Additionally, no previous studies in Japan have ever attempted to review and evaluate the literature on event impact. The present study reviewed the literature on the impact of sporting events. Event impact in a sports context can be divided into 3 categories based on the Triple Bottom Line approach (Fredline et al., 2005), namely (1) the economic impact, (2) the social impact, and (3) the environmental impact. For our systematic review, data were selected through electronic searches of several computer databases (SPORT Discus with Full Text, Science Direct, CiNii, and Google Scholar). Based on the studies by Deery and Jago (2010) and Deery et al. (2012), this review focused on 3 aspects: 1) the construct of impacts, 2) the theoretical approach, 3) methodology and 4) the relationship with other constructs. The main conclusions were as follows. First, with regard to economic impact, positive impacts included effects on employment, infrastructure that helped in development and improvement, and increased investment. However, negative impacts were also confirmed, including price increases, construction costs, crowds, and social issues. Second, with regard to social impact, positive impacts mainly included cultural development, awareness and image improvement, new opportunities, increased interest in different cultures, and so on. Negative impacts included increased traffic jams, rising crime rates, and an increase in prostitution. Third, with regard to environmental impact, positive impacts included motivation for conserving the environment and historical buildings, promotion of environmental education, conservation of resources and ecosystems, and environmental improvement for sustainable development. Negative impacts included the destruction of the environment. This research has highlighted practical implications and areas for future study for the development of event impact in Japan.

6-Chloro-9-(2, 3-O-isopropylidene-β-D-ribofuranosyl) purine (1) was found to be a suitable substrate for the preparation of C-8 substituted purine nucleosides. Thus, upon lithiation of 1 with LDA and successive reaction with various types of electrophiles, the C-8 substituted products were obtained. The C-6 chlorine atoms in these products were readily replaced by an amino group, a mercapto group, or hydrogen, providing a facile preparation of 8-substituted adenosines, 6-thioinosines, or nebularines.

1-β-Alkyl derivatives of 1-desoxypodophyllotoxin were synthesized, and their cytotoxicity and inhibitory effects on DNA topoisomerase II (Topo-II) and tubulin polymerization were examined.The reaction of epipodophyllotoxin derivatives (1a-c) with trimethylallylsilane in the presence of boron trifluoride etherate gave 1-β-allylated compounds (2a-c). The regiochemistry and the β-stereochemistry of the 1-allyl group were confirmed by comparison of the 13C-NMR spectra and NOE's (%) of 2c, podophyllotoxin (POD) and epipodophyllotoxin (1b). 1-β-Alkyl-1-desoxypodophyllotoxin derivatives (3-8) were prepared from 2b.None of the tested compounds (3-8) showed any inhibitory effect on Topo-II. 1-β-Propyl compound (3) and its 4'-demethyl compound (4) inhibited tubulin polymerization and the cytotoxicities of these compounds were equal to that of VP-16. 1-β-(2, 3-Dihydroxypropyl) compounds (5 and 8) and 1-β-(2, 3-diacetoxypropyl) compounds (6 and 7)showed no inhibitory effect on tubulin polymerization. Although 5 did not inhibit either Topo-II activity or tubulin polymerization, it showed a high cytotoxicity against sarcoma 180.

The reaction of organolithium, Grignard, and organoaluminum reagents with 2'- and 3'-ketouridine derivatives was examined. For the reaction of 2', 5'-bis-0- (tert-butyldimethylsilyl) -3'-ketouridine, both organolithiums and organoaluminums seem to be practically useful. But only organoaluminums gave satisfactory yields in the reaction of 3', 5'-0- (tetraisopropyldisiloxan-1, 3-diyl) -2'-ketouridine.

Asymmetric hydrolysis of 2, 2-bis (acetoxymethyl) cyclopentanone (5) using biocatalysts and its application to a formal synthesis of (-)-malyngolide are described.For the asymmetric induction at the quaternary carbon of 5, cholinesterase from electric eel was found to be effective to afford the (+)-monoacetate (6)(90%ee).Compound (+)-6 was easily converted to the synthetic intermediate (28) for (-)-malyngolide.

Several 5-carbon-substituted 1-β-D-ribofuranosylimidazole-4-carboxamides were synthesized via the direct C-5 lithiation of a protected 4-carboxamide derivative as the key reaction step. Wittig reaction of a 5-formyl derivative was also examined.
