Acrolein, a highly toxic α, β-unsaturated aldehyde, occurs as pollutant in the environment (e.g., tobacco smoke and exhaust gas) and is ubiquitously generated in biosystems (e.g., the lipid peroxidation process and metabolism of polyamine or amino acids). High accumulation of acrolein in biosystems is often linked pathologically with several oxidative stress-related diseases, including cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Accordingly, acrolein holds great potential as a key biomarker in oxidative stress-related diseases, and direct measurement of acrolein in biological samples is important to provide information for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Recently, we have serendipitously discovered the unrecognized reactivity of phenyl azide to acrolein. Phenyl azide can rapidly and selectively react with acrolein in a “click” manner to provide 4-formyl-1,2,3-triazoline through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition. We have successfully utilized the acrolein-azide click reaction as a simple but robust method for detecting and visualizing acrolein generated by live cells in the context of oxidative stress processes. In addition, we also serendipitously discovered novel cycloaddition reactions of N-alkyl-α,β-unsaturated imines derived from acrolein and biogenic amines (e.g., polyamines, norepinephrine, and sphingosine), to yield 8-membered cyclic compounds. We then examined the biological functions of the cyclic products and revealed for the first time their roles in the oxidative stress mechanism and inhibition of amyloid β(1-40) fibrillization.

本論文では、非摂勅諭的な量子重力理論に対するスピンフォーム模型についてレビューする。スピンフォームとは時空に2次元的に広かったオブジェクトである。この描像が、ループ量子重力理論やPonzano-Regge-Turaev-Viro状態和模型、BF重力理論などなどからそれぞれ独立に導かれることを説明し、スピンフォームという統一的観点による量子重力理論の定式化について解説する。

Since the report of Duke in which an allergic etiology was considered to be the cause of Meniere's disease, the hypothesis that a certain type of Meniere's disease is generated through immuno-pathological mechanisms has been advocated for 70 years. During this period, another entity of immune-mediated inner ear disorders, i. e., autoimmune inner ear disease was introduced. Fundamental immunological phenomena of the inner ear have been rapidly elucidated since 1980. The endolymphatic sac is the only site which contains immuno-competent cells within the inner ear. The inner ear is capable of mounting active immune responses when appropriately stimulated and the endolymphatic sac plays an integral function for inner ear immune response. Acutally, many reports have been published that link immunity and Meniere's disease with a variety of proposed immune-related etiologies from autoimmunity to non-autoimmunity. It is suggested that immune injury to the endolymphatic sac plays an important role in the pathogenesis of Meniere's disease. These functional and morphological circumstances strongly suggest that an immunological etiology of Meniere's disease is not theoretically unfounded.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current family system in Japan from the perspective of the independent living (civil rights) of people with disabilities, and to discuss the future family system and its social conditions.We can define the family system of current Japanese families as the Japanese type of “modern family system”. This is based on the division of sex-roles and has the large responsibility of social security for family members.The two main issues for current Japanese families are as follows. As compared to the Western type of modern family system, they do not have resistance power against the larger society and the state. Second, there are not equal relationships among family members. In other words, they do not support adult members with disabilities in independent living, because they still cast them in the role of dependent children. They do not promote the social position of women outside the home, because women are seen as care-providers in the family. These characteristics of the Japanese type of “modern family system” arise from Japanese social policy which has been based on a “residual” welfare model since modernization.If we can define the future family system in the new post-industrial society as a post-modern family system, it must consist of equal relationships among each family member based on the dignity of human beings. Such a family system will only be achieved, however, through a social policy of universal application of a welfare model to all individuals and without gender bias.

母集団から無作為抽出した確率標本に対して,各種の測定法を適用する標本調査は,社会・世論・市場などに関する知識を得る方法として広く利用されているが,調査の信頼性の指標である回収率の低下が著しい.確率標本を得るための抽出枠である住民基本台帳の閲覧を制限する法改正も進み,社会全体が調査の信頼性を低下させる方向に進んでいる.実践的立場から調査の現状について問題点を示し,全誤差を考察する.

本研究では福岡県警察が全国に先駆けて設立した「犯罪予防研究アドバイザー制度」を事例に,(1)本制度を通じて入手した平成24~26年の福岡県内で発生したコンビニ強盗の犯行内容に関する事案概要データ(全79案件)4)ならびに被害店舗全74店舗(79件のうち5店舗は強盗被害に2回遭っている)の立地を整理,分析した.さらに(2)上記,強盗被害店舗全74店舗と徒歩圏(500m)を越えて最も近隣に立地している非被害店舗(74店舗)の合計148店舗の実地調査を実施し,強盗被害が誘発される立地・空間環境の要点とコンビニの防犯向上に向けた施策について考察した.その結果,コンビニ強盗に対する防犯施策の検討として(1)従業員に対する勤務姿勢を重視した防犯指導,(2)駐車場を中心とした視認性の向上,(3)陳列棚の高さが伴う監視性低下への認識啓発について,その重要性を示唆した.
