今回、われわれはめまいによりもたらされる日常生活の障害の程度を客観的に評価できるアンケートを用い、ジフェニドールとベタヒスチンの治療効果を比較検討した。ジフェニドールは 4 週間投与で、めまいによる社会活動性の障害、めまいを増悪させる身体の動き(頭位、視覚)、めまいによる身体行動の制限(全般的、体動)、めまいによる感情障害、めまいによる対人関係の障害、めまいによる不快感のすべての因子を有意に改善させた。ジフェニドールは抗めまい作用に加えて制吐作用を持つことから、めまいによる機能障害およびめまいに伴う不快感を改善させ、その結果、めまいによる社会的障害およびめまいによる感情障害を改善させたものと考えられた。ベタヒスチンは 4 週間投与で、めまいによる社会活動性の障害、めまいによる対人関係の障害を有意に改善させたが、その他の因子には有意な改善を認めなかった。薬理作用の点から、ベタヒスチンは 2 カ月以上の長期投与を推奨している報告もあり、めまいにより引き起こされる日常生活の障害に対するベタヒスチンによる効果を明らかにするためには、さらに長期間の投与による検討が必要であると考えられた。

This paper discusses compatibility of security and the quality of life in detached housing area. City of Irvine, California was said to be one of the safest city in US because of good spatial design and governance in communities. Qualitative interviews with the city officials, the police and homeowners were conducted to know the keys of the safest city. Concerning the design features, those of early villages and those of new urbanism have grown into one and promote activities which enhance natural surveillance. These design features are checked by the police at the planning stage. With regard to the community governance, homeowners associations (HOAs) provide good management and maintenance and various activities to include the youth in communities so as not to let them become delinquents. “Activity” and “Identity” are found to be the keys for the compatibility of security and the quality of life, which reduce crime by increasing regional vitality, social contact and community spirit and are not included in the principles of Japanese CPTED.

A rapid multiplex real-time PCR assay was developed to achieve highly specific, simultaneous detection of two kinds of mushrooms, Omphalotus guepiniformis and Lentinula edodes. Primers and TaqMan minor groove binder probes were designed according to the internal transcribed spacers 1-5.8S region of rDNA and evaluated by the specificity for fruiting bodies of 17 O. guepiniformis, 16 L. edodes and samples from 57 other species. DNA extracts of all the target species had positive signals with no cross-reaction, the limit of detection being 0.00025 ng of DNA. Threshold cycle (Ct) values for raw and processed fruiting bodies and for fruiting bodies (1% (w/w)) mixed with foodstuffs or artificial gastric juice contents ranged from 17.16 to 26.60 for both examined species. This new assay proved specific to the target species, highly sensitive, and applicable to processed food samples and gastric juice contents, making it useful for rapidly identifying O. guepiniformis and L. edodes.

症例は71歳,男性.山で採取したツキヨダケを摂取したところ,その8時間後より激しい腹痛,嘔吐,下痢が出現し来院した.第4病日の内視鏡検査では,十二指腸下行部に浮腫とびらん形成を伴った粗槌粘膜をびまん性に認め,第7病日に施行したX線検査では,十二指腸下行部から水平部にかけてKerckring皺襞の腫大,線状ないし不整形バリウム斑の多発,および亀甲様粘膜面を認めた.保存的治療のみで臨床症状は速やかに改善し,2カ月後の内視鏡検査では十二指腸病変の治癒が確認された.患者血清中にツキヨダケの毒素であるイルージンSは証明できなかったが,臨床経過から自験例はツキヨダケの誤摂取により生じた急性十二指腸炎と考えられた.ツキヨダケによる食中毒は発生件数が多いものの,その消化管病変に関する記載は少なく,自験例は貴重と考えられた.

Effects of mold temperature and injection pressure on mechanical properties and surface defects of Na2CO3-20mol%NaCl-30mol%KCl salt-mixtures made by high pressure die-casting machine were investigated. The bending strength of the salt-mixture was increased with increasing mold temperature, while the injection pressure in the temperature range from 39MPa to 78MPa was not influenced by the bending strength. Results of the Weibull statistics analysis suggest that increasing the mold temperature is effective for increasing the reliability of the strength as well as the bending strength, because the surface crack decreases with increasing mold temperature. In addition, we succeeded in making a salt core for single closed deck type cylinder blocks. These results suggest that the Na2C03-NaCl-KCl salt-mixtures made by die-casting machine are promising core material for aluminum alloy high pressure die-castings.

5種の設定した加熱条件下でじゃがいもを加熱した場合の針入度と官能評価について,以下の結果を得た. 1.針入度による硬さの測定では,測定部位,測定時間による差がみられた. 2.設定した5種の加熱での官能評価では,弱火32分が最もやわらかいと評価されたが,総合評価は3分放置では中火20分が,20分放置では強火16分が最もよい評価となり,加熱条件と官能検査項目や放置時間との影響が確認された. 3.官能評価項目を5種の加熱条件での有意差の表れ方で比較すると,加熱条件の影響を受けやすい項目と,受けにくい項目とに分類できることが認められた. 4.5種の加熱条件における硬さの官能評価と針入度の間には,一致した傾向が認められた.

古くからよく知られているアポロニウスの問題はこれまでいろいろな方法で解かれているが, その中でもっとも巧妙な解法の一つは, 17, 8世紀のフランスの数学者Joseph Diez Gergonneによるものである。ここでは, 三つの円を直円錐の底面とする画法幾何学的な新しい解法を報告する。これは, 三つの直円錐が共有する一点が, 求める円の中心とその半径を与えるというものである。

The present study attempted to develop a training model using the rebound jump (RJ) for improving stiffness during bounding (BD), focusing on joint kinetics. Seventeen male track and field athletes (sprinters, jumpers, and decathletes) performed the BD and RJ. Video images of their jumping motions in the sagittal plane (300 Hz) and their ground reaction force data (1,000 Hz) were recorded. Stiffness was calculated using the spring-mass model, and the joint extension and plantar flexion torques during the first half of the take-off phase and negative torque power of the 3 lower joints (ankle, knee, hip) were calculated. The foot angle at the moment of touchdown during BD was also calculated. The results were as follows: 1. During BD and RJ, stiffness was correlated with the ankle joint torque during the first half of the take-off phase and the negative torque power about the ankle joint. 2. The foot angle at the moment of touchdown during BD was correlated with stiffness, contact time, ankle joint torque during the first half of the take-off phase, and negative torque power of the ankle joint. 3. Ankle joint torque and negative torque power about the ankle joint during the first half of the take-off phase in BD were correlated with those during RJ. These results suggest that stiffness during BD and RJ are affected by ankle joint kinetics. On the basis of these results, previous studies and sports training principles, plyometric training using the RJ may be useful for improving the stiffness in BD via ankle joint kinetics.

In June 2014, a male stray dog was recovered at Ente Nazionale di Protezione Animali (ENPA) kennel of Manfredonia, Apulia region, showing oral bleeding and physical prostration. The dog fell in a water canal and was trapped. During the clinical examination, a specimen of leech was revealed into its oral cavity. The parasite, probably entered by drinking unfiltered and contaminated water, has been identified as an adult of aquatic leech Limnatis nilotica. Leeches could overrun wide variety of animals, and few reports about blood sucking leech infestations in mammals are available in literature. This paper describes here the first oral hirudiniasis in a dog in Italy and highlights the possibility of human nasopharyngeal leech-related infection in Apulia region.

The distribution method and consumption of tea products (except green tea) in Vietnam were studied. Fresh tea leaves are distributed in bundles like vegetables in South Vietnam, while in Hanoi, North Vietnam, fresh tea leaves are put into baskets and sold. Che xanh fresh tea leaves are infused by hot water together with ginger to serve for drinking. It presents a cool feel, although having some grassy smell.

The objective of this study was to clarify the effects of men's swimsuits on swimming position and muscle activity of body trunk in gliding motion. For this objective, a swimming experiment to measure electromyogram and gliding position in sagittal plane simultaneously was conducted for 3 types of men's swimsuit (A, B and C). Next, we compared experimental results one-on-one between the swimsuits by ANOVA. The results of the experiment and ANOVA showed that in wearing Swimsuit C, compared to Swimsuits A and B, hip became lower to shoulder (p<0.05), the hip joint became more extended (p<0.05), and the muscle activity of ES (Erector Spinae) and drag coefficient had tendency to decrease. In addition, we established a new index for the effect of body trunk support, which corresponds to the muscle activity of ES considering the change in the hip joint angle. We confirmed statistically that Swimsuit C had effects of extending hip joint and/or reducing the muscle activity of ES (p<0.05). The reason for this was considered to be that the Swimsuit C helped the hip extensor muscles.

In this study, scaling, polishing and daily tooth brushing were performed in 20 beagle dogs, and the number of oral bacteria was determined using a bacterial counter. The dogs were randomized into the scaling (S), scaling + polishing (SP), scaling + tooth daily brushing (SB) and scaling + polishing + tooth daily brushing (SPB) groups. Samples were collected from the buccal surface of the maxillary fourth premolars of the dogs immediately after scaling and every week thereafter from weeks 1 to 8. Throughout the study, the number of bacteria was significantly lower in the SB and SPB groups compared with the S group. The findings suggest that daily tooth brushing inhibited oral bacterial growth in the dogs.

パンギノキ (Pangium edule Reinw.) は,東南アジアおよび南太平洋諸島の熱帯植物であり,現地では,その種子から高含量のシアン化合物を取り除いた後に食される。パンギノキの種子はそのまま植物性食素材として消費するほか,穴埋め発酵により,特徴的なセイボリーなフレーバーを付け加えた香辛料として消費される。発酵した種子はクルワックと呼ばれる。これまでに,種子が高レベルの抗酸化活性および抗酸化成分を有することが報告されている。本研究では,パンギノキ種子における抗酸化活性および抗酸化成分の分布,ならびに穴埋め発酵および加熱調理の影響について,1,1-ジフェニル-2-ピクリルヒドラジル (DPPH) 法,酸素ラジカル吸収能 (ORAC) 法,全フェノール量,アスコルビン酸量,ビタミンE量,脂肪酸組成を測定した。さらに,穴埋め発酵がパンギノキ種子の物性に及ぼす影響についても解析した。種子に含まれる抗酸化活性および抗酸化成分は,DPPHラジカル捕捉活性を指標とした場合,主に水系画分に存在したが,ORACを指標とした場合,水系,油系の両方に存在した。水系,油系の主な活性成分はそれぞれフェノール化合物およびγ-トコトリエノールであった。穴埋め発酵により,水系および油系の抗酸化活性は有意に増加したが,これはメイラード反応生成物によるものと思われる。同様に,加熱調理過程においても両方の画分で抗酸化活性が増加した。
