We have proposed a noninvasive technique to observe an arteriovenous fistula using an optical transillumination image of a blood vessel. To improve the accuracy of inner-diameter measurement of the vessel, we examined the effectiveness of the imagesubtraction technique using multi-wavelength light sources. In the experiment, we fabricated a model-phantom to simulate a human forearm. It contained the tube filled with replaceable absorber liquid which simulated the blood in different wavelengths of illuminating light. The transillumination images of the blood column were recorded with the liquid of different absorption coefficients. The imagesubtraction technique was applied and the images were analyzed. With the subtraction, the sharpness of the column image was improved by 55%, and the error in the diameter measurement was reduced from 28% to 4%. This result verified the effectiveness of the image-subtraction to promote the clinical application of the proposed technique for the controlled care of the arteriovenous fistula.

1996年の中央教育審議会答申は,従来の反省を踏まえたゆとり教育の柱の一つとして総合的な学習の時間を設けることを提言した。 これをうけた学習指導要領の改定で,2002年度から総合的な学習の時間が学校で実施されることになり,各大学ではそのための教職に関する科目として総合演習が開講された。しかし実施されて間もなく「ゆとり重視の学習指導要領が学力低下を招く」とする批判論が強くなった。そのため文科省は見直しを指示し,2011年度から実施された新学習指導要領では総合的な学習の時間は削減された。その結果多くの大学では総合演習は廃止される。 こうした動向中2002年度から本学体育学部で総合演習を担当する機会を得た筆者が,この10年間にめざしたことと取り組んだことの概要とそこで考えたことを報告したい。

The effect of chymotrypsin inhibitors on the intestinal absorption of insulin was investigated in conscious and unrestrained rabbits. Insulin at a dose of 25U/kg with 10mg/kg of chymotrypsin inhibitors was administered intraduodenally via an indwelled catheter. The blood glucose level was decreased following an administration of insulin in combination with each chymotrypsin inhibitor. The order of the effect on the intestinal absorption was related with the order of chymotrypsin inhibitory activity. Maximal decrease was observed when insulin was administered with such a strong inhibitor as FK 448, [4-(4-isopropylpipe-radinocarbonyl) phenyl 1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-1-naphthoate methanesulfonate], whose IC50 value was 7×10-7M, and the decrease of the glucose level was 25%, compared with the level before administration. The effect of inhibitors which inhibit both chymotrypsin and trypsin was almost the same with that of chymotrypsin specific inhibitors.

Voltage instability is now under intensive study in Japan. It is very important to make clear the mechanisms of voltage collapse for the purpose of establishing the countermeasures.Voltage instability depends greatly on the dynamic characteristics of load and dynamic digital simulations are mainly adopted to analyze the dynamic phenomena of voltage collapse. In order to analyze the dynamic voltage stability, however, eigenvalue method has been already proposed by the authors, which requires a long computing time. In this paper, a simple method using “short-term P-Vcurves” is presented. It make it possible to show the power supply capability at any load nodes.A radial power system with 3 induction motors is analyzed and stability transition during voltage collapse is made clear. This phenomenon is useful for explaining the cascaded voltage collapse well.

本研究では2020年の東京五輪のマラソンコースを例に,その温熱環境を把握することを目的として,MRT(平均放射温度)とWBGT(湿球黒球温度)の計算事例を示した。その結果,猛暑日である2015年8月7日の事例では,9時~18時でコース上のすべての地点でWBGTが熱中症の「厳重警戒レベル」とされる28℃以上となった。またコース上にできる影によってWBGTが低下するため, 日陰を選んでコース取りをすることにより,ランナーが体感するWBGTを低く抑えられる可能性が示唆された。

To investigate the spatial and temporal variability of the urban heat island, a high-spatial density meteorological observation system was set up in the Tokyo ward area by Tokyo Metropolitan Research Institute for Environmental Protection (TMRIEP) and Tokyo Metropolitan University from July 2002 to March 2005. The observation system was named Meteorological Environmental Temperature and Rainfall Observation System (METROS) and consisted of two observation networks named METROS20 and METROS100; METROS20 was made to observe meteorological factors (wind direction and speed, pressure, rainfall etc.) on the roofs of 20 buildings; METROS100 was made to observe temperature and humidity in instruments screens of 106 elementary schools. Since April 2005, observations of temperature and humidity were continued with the instruments screens of elementary schools by TMRIEP. This observation network was maintained until March 2010. Based on their observations, temporal and spatial characteristics of thermal environment of Tokyo have been investigated such as temperature range, especially in summer. For example, warmer areas differ between daytime and nighttime as shown by spatial patterns in rate of time exceeding 30 degrees Celsius and number of sultry nights: the warmer area is located from central part to northern part of the Tokyo ward area during daytime and from central part to coastal area during nighttime.

【目的】健常者における静的立位での外反母趾角と後足部アライメントの関連性を明らかとすることである。【方法】対象は健常大学生178名(男性107名,女性71名,年齢22±3歳,身長167.5±8.1cm,体重60.0±9.2kg,BMI21.3±2.4)である。評価項目は,第一趾側角,第五趾側角,足底接地率,足部アーチ高率,Leg-Heel-Angle(以下,LHA),Floor-Heel-Angle(以下,FHA)である。統計学的処理は,第一趾側角を従属変数とし,第五趾側角,足底接地率,足部アーチ高率,LHA,FHA,BMIを独立変数とした重回帰分析を行った。【結果】足部アーチ高率(β=-0.25,p<0.05)と内反小趾角(β=-0.16,p<0.05)が選択された(R2=0.11,p<0.05)。【結語】足部アーチ高率は外反母趾の原因としての報告があり,それを支持するものとなった。また,足趾の変形は足部の内外側どちらに荷重が集中しているかで異なると考えられる。しかしそのR2は0.11と低く,外反母趾角に影響を与える因子はこの他にもあるものと考えられる。

1) 人事院標準生計費の食料費マーケットバスケットを一部修正し, 18歳程度男子 (東京) の1ヵ月の食料費を求めたところ, 24,362円であった.<BR>2) これを標準家族の消費単位 (女子栄養大学算定) で処理すれば, 24,362円× (4.63/1.34) =84,176円となる.<BR>3) これに加算すべき, 酒類, 飲料, 菓子の世帯合計が9,914円であるから, 合計94,090円が得られる.<BR>4) 第二子昼食の給食分を22食として, それを1) で得られた24,362円をもとに {24,362円× (1.36/1.34)} × {22/ (30.4×3)} =5,965円と推定し, 3) からさし引けば, 標準世帯の1か月の食料費88,125円が出される.

本稿は、科学研究費助成事業研究活動スタート支援「近代における漢学塾出身者の事業活動と実践倫理の研究―大阪の泊園書院を中心として」(課題番号15H06744、横山俊一郎研究代表)における成果の一部である。In this paper, I consider the approach and business of Nagata Nisuke, founder of the banking and railway industries in Osaka, in order to understand the personality of businessmen from Hakuen-Shoin. For this purpose I take up his biography, called "Banshu-Nagata-Okina-Den." As a result of this study, I find that he tried to reach the level of Tenjin-Mibun through self-cultivation. I believe that his goal was to build a fair economic society while taking up the challenges of fearlessly developing his own business. I also note that he promoted the spirit of Bushido to affluent merchants who were war profiteers.

Selenocysteine (Sec) is the 21st amino acid that is incorporated into proteins translationally. The selenocysteine tRNA (tRNASec) is first ligated with serine by seryl-tRNA synthetase, and the Ser moiety is converted to Sec in a tRNA-dependent manner. In Bacteria, the selenocysteine synthase SelA converts Ser to Sec directly, whereas in Eukaryotes and Archaea, phosphorylation of the Ser moiety is required prior to the Sec conversion. In this review, we describe the crystal structures of SelA, bacterial tRNASec, and the SelA•tRNASec complex. Based on the crystal structures and mutational analyses, the substrate discrimination and reaction mechanisms are discussed.

本稿は、留学生別科日本語研修課程における日本事情科目「日本の歴史」指導の在り方について2016年度・2017年度の2年間の実践を整理・考察したものである。 日本語能力の未習熟な入学直後の留学生に対して、日本事情科目「日本の歴史」は抵抗が大きい授業科目である。2016年度はDVD教材を中心とした「時代順カリキュラム」による指導を実践し、2017年度は新たに「テーマ別カリキュラム」による指導を実践した。2年間の「日本の歴史」授業の教育内容と教育方法の違いと留学生の学修の違いを比較し、「テーマ別カリキュラム」による指導の有効性を明らかにしようとした。

最近特定の職業と肥満の関連が指摘され、職業習慣病という言葉も聞かれている。エンジニアはパーソナルコンピュターなどの使用時間が長く、肉体的活動が少なく、不規則な生活、職場のストレスなどにより肥満が多いと報告されている。これらの研究は断面調査なので、エンジニアという職業が肥満を引き起こすのか、エンジニアを目指す若者がすでに肥満なのか明らかでない。そこでエンジニア会社の入社時健診を解析することにより既に肥満が入社前より存在しているか検討した。対象はエンジニア関連会社に平成27年度に入社する20歳代の男性(エンジニア予備軍)179人で、平成26年度国民健康・栄養調査(国民調査)から同年代の男性257名、および非エンジニア企業に入社する同年代男性新入社員49人と比較した、BMI 25以上の肥満の割合はエンジニア予備軍で30.2%、国民調査で20.9%、非エンジニア18.4%で、肥満の割合はエンジニア予備軍で対照群より約10%高かった。エンジニア予備軍で血圧上昇、耐糖能異常、脂質異常症の動脈硬化危険因子を持つ割合は肥満者が非肥満者に比べ有意に高かった(P<0.001)。肝機能異常を持つ割合も同様であった(P<0.001)。腹囲85cm以上の内臓肥満を有するのはBMIによる肥満者の94.4%におよんだ。しかし、メタボリック症候群を有するのはエンジニア予備軍で3.4%、エンジニア予備軍の肥満者でも11.1%で国民調査の同年代2.2%と比べ有意な差はなかった。以上、エンジニア予備軍は入社前から肥満が存在していた。若年者の肥満は後に認知症になりやすいこと、メタボリック症候群は多くなかったが、若年者の肥満者は将来メタボリック症候群になりやすいことなどより、肥満に対して早期の介入が必要である。その際、肥満の管理を個人のみに任せるのではなく、社員の健康を重要な資産とみなす健康経営が浸透してきているので、企業の積極的な介入が入社時より望まれる。
