<p>To evaluate the corrosion mechanism of copper artifacts and to propose the effective reburial method that suppresses the corrosion of copper artifacts at the underwater archaeological site, corrosion tests were carried out at the Takashima underwater archaeological site using copper and copper with wood. The results of the corrosion test specified that corrosion proceeded by the effect of H₂S or HS^–even in dissolved oxygen (DO)–depleted conditions at the underwater archaeological site. In the case of the copper with wood, the corrosion rate dramatically increased in comparison with the copper samples due to the effects of wood as nutrient salt for sulfate–reducing bacteria. These results indicate that it is necessary to control the mass transfer of chemical species like H₂S, HS^–, and Cu⁺ for suppression of corrosion of copper artifacts at underwater in addition to DO–depleted conditions. The results of the study also suggest that covering copper artifacts using porous media like sandy soil is an effective means for the preservation of them.</p>

昭和20年3月10日は東京大空襲で江東地区全滅,23万戸焼失,ついで14日は大阪の大空襲により市の中心部13万戸焼失,4月1日米軍沖縄に上陸,5月4日ベルリン陥落,8日ドイツ無条件降伏,ついで8月15日日本も降伏,国民生活は混乱と虚脱におちいり,極度の窮乏生活のもとにあえぐ,従って終戦前後の項に出版された医学書,歯学書はその発行部数も少ないうえ,当時燃料に使用したりして残部が少なく,むしろ今日では稀観本として価値がある.そこで,少なくとも昭和20年と同21年に出版された医学書について中野操著,増補日本医事大年表よりしらべると次の如くである.昭和20年は服部敏良:奈良時代医学の研究の一冊のみ,昭和21年は沢瀉久敬:医学概論,大鳥蘭三郎:明治の医学,中里竜暎:日本看護史,森於菟:解剖刀を執りて,大田正雄:日本の医学,杉靖三郎:科学のふるさと,永井隆:長崎の鐘の七冊である.これらと私達の蔵本から終戦前後に出版された医学書について特に序より考証を試みる.

小説『マルテの手記』は、20世紀初頭のパリで不安と苦悩の日々を過ごしたリルケが、後の『ドゥイノの悲歌』の詩人へと自己形成を遂げていく転機にあって、手記という散文形式において自己省察を試みた特異な書物である。大都市の匿名性のなかで語り手は自己解体の危機に瀕しながら、自分を悩ませるさまざまな不安の形象を描き出し、記憶の断片をたどって生の再構築を試みる。そこに仄かに浮かび上がってくるのが、個人のアイデンティティを超える生の予感である。そして、それまで異郷を彷徨うように生きてきたマルテ=リルケは、詩人としての全的な生を手に入れるため、改めて自己の幼年時代との直面を要求されることになる。--本稿では以上のようなプログラムによって『マルテの手記』読解の可能性を探る。

農学、工学、環境科学の現場において土壌水分を簡易かつ迅速に測定する方法として、電子レンジ法,赤外線乾燥法、グリセリン抽出法の3種の方法の適合性を検討した。8種類の供試試料に対する乾燥過程の時間-水分曲線から判断した結果、総合的に見ると電子レンジ法が最適であり、電源が得られない条件ではグリセリン抽出法が、また高精度が要求される場合には赤外線乾燥法が適していることが判明した。

耳下腺多形腺腫症例60例についてMRIT2強調画像の信号強度と病理像とを比較し, 検討を行った.MRIT2強調画像の信号強度を3タイプに分類したとき, 正常耳下腺組織より著明に高い信号を示すタイプは, 45例75%に認められた.軽度高信号から等信号を示すタイプは9例15%, 低信号のタイプは6例10%であった.これらの症例それぞれの病理像を見ると, 粘液腫様・軟骨腫様間質は高信号領域に相当し, 一方, 細胞の密な領域は軽度高信号から等信号領域に, 線維性結合織は低信号領域に一致した.耳下腺多形腺腫はMRIT2強調画像で一般に高信号を示すとされるが, 今回の検討では, 等信号からそれより信号の低いタイプが全体の25%に認められたことになる.耳下腺腫瘍で多数を占める本腫瘍の, MR所見における特徴の把握が, この腫瘍の診断と他の耳下腺腫瘍との鑑別に有用であると考える.

【背景】潰瘍性大腸炎(UC)は,大腸病変のみならず回腸嚢炎など他臓器に様々な合併症を引き起こすことがある.その中で大腸病変に類似したびまん性の胃十二指腸炎がまれながら報告されている.【目的】UCに関連した上部消化管病変の定義を試み,その頻度と臨床経過を検討する.【方法】上部消化管内視鏡検査が施行されたUC 322例を対象とした.大腸病変に類似したびまん性胃十二指腸炎のうち,他疾患が否定され以下の定義に合致するものをUCに関連したulcerative gastroduodenal lesion(UGDL)と定義した.1)UCの治療により胃十二指腸病変が改善する.and/or 2)病理組織学的所見がUCに類似する.【結果】この定義に合致したUGDLは322例中15例(4.7%)で,15例の大腸病変の病型は全大腸炎型または大腸全摘出術後だった.病型別では全大腸炎型146例中9例(6.2%),大腸全摘術後81例中6例(7.4%)に認められ,大腸全摘出術後のうち4例は回腸嚢炎を合併していた.【結論】今後UCの診断治療に際してはUGDLの存在も考慮しなければならない.またUGDLは回腸嚢炎との関連も示唆された.

Biliary lipids primarily consist of bile salts, phospholipids, and cholesterol. Bile salts have potent detergent properties and deleterious effects on the cell membrane and are cytotoxic to hepatocytes. We have previously reported that phosphatidylcholine (PC), the predominant bile phospholipid, protects hepatocytes from the cytotoxicity of bile salts, whereas cholesterol reverses the cytoprotective effects of PC against bile salts. ABCB4, a member of the ATP-binding cassette transporter family, secretes biliary phospholipids, especially PC, from the hepatocytes into the bile. Using Abcb4 knockout mice and HEK293 cells that stably expressed ABCB4, we examined the effects of taurine- or glycine-conjugated cholate, ursodeoxycholate, and hyodeoxycholate on the ABCB4-mediated efflux of PC. We observed that the biliary secretion of PC in wild-type mice significantly increased following infusion of all the tested bile salts, especially taurohyodeoxycholate. On the other hand, the biliary secretion of PC in Abcb4 knockout mice was not affected by the bile salt infusions. The results also demonstrated that the efflux of PC from ABCB4-expressing HEK293 cells was significantly stimulated by taurohyodeoxycholate, which has a strong potential to form mixed micelles with PC. Furthermore, the results of our study emphasized the possibility that the specific interactions of bile salts with ABCB4 are necessary for the release of PC molecules from the binding pocket of ABCB4 into the aqueous environment. Further understanding of this mechanism will aid in the development of novel therapeutic agents for cholestatic liver diseases.

胃電図は, 腹部に装着した表面電極から経皮的に胃筋電活動を記録する非侵襲的な胃運動評価法である。本研究では, 胃電図を指標として朝食欠食と朝の胃運動の関連を検討するために, 朝食摂取習慣のある女性11名 (21.5±0.2歳) に, 1週間の朝食欠食および1週間の再摂食試験を連続して行った。各試験の前後に検査日を設け, 前夜から絶食した被験者の体組成, 空腹感と食欲 (Visual analog scaleによる) を測定し, 午前9時より胃電図と心電図を同時に記録した。得られた胃の電気信号を解析し, 1分間に約3回生じる正常波パワー (Normal power), 正常波パワー含有率 (% Normal power) およびその出現頻度 (Dominant frequency; DF) を定量した。心電図からは心臓自律神経活動を定量した。1週間の朝食欠食は, 有意ではないが% Normal powerとDFを低下させた。DFは欠食後から再摂食後にさらに低下した (p=0.074 versus baseline) 。朝食欠食後の空腹感スコア (r=0.55, p=0.077), 食欲スコア (r=0.60, p=0.051) と % Normal powerの相関には有意傾向が認められた。以上の結果より, 1週間の朝食欠食が習慣的に朝食を摂取している若年女性の胃運動を減弱させる傾向が認められたこと, および, 胃収縮運動の強さが空腹感や食欲の強さと関連している可能性が示唆された。

情報モラルに関する知識を有していたとしても,その知識を行動として具現化しようとする意図が形成されなければ,実効的な意味で知識を習得したとは言い難い.本研究では,一般的な知識として正しい行動を問う知識課題と自身が実際に選択する行動を問う意図課題を用いて,高校生を対象に知識と行動意図の不一致を定量化した.実験1・2では,意図課題の正答率の方が知識課題の正答率よりも低く,実験参加者が適切な知識を有しているにもかかわらず情報モラルに反する行動をとることが示された.また,実験2では,実験参加者はクラスメイトが情報モラルに反する行動をとる割合を高く推定していることが示された.これらの結果は,知識と行動の不一致を認識させ適切な行動意図の形成を促す情報モラル教育の重要性を示すものである.

症例は34歳,女性。白血球数17,900/μl(異型リンパ球58%)を指摘され精査にてT細胞性前リンパ球性白血病と診断した。2カ月後に白血球数43,600/μlまで増加したため,2'deoxycoformycinおよびCHOP療法を施行するも寛解せず,非血縁BMTを目的に入院した。cytarabineとetoposideで腫瘍量を減少させた後にTBIとcyclophosphamideによる前処置を行い,非血縁BMTを施行した。GVHD予防にはcyclosporineとshort-term MTXを用いた。Day 13よりGrade IIの急性GVHD(皮膚と消化管)を発症したが,Day22の末梢血T細胞のshort tandem repeat (STR)解析でrecipient-typeが9.4%と腫瘍細胞の残存を認めた。免疫抑制剤の減量を開始するもGVHDの悪化はなく,recipient-typeのT細胞が消失した。移植後22カ月経過した現在も完全寛解を維持しており,T-PLLにおいてGVL効果が期待できることが示唆された。

We recently treated a patient with a penetrating gun shot wound from the posterior part of the left ear to the left maxillary sinus. The patient was a 35-year-old male who had been injured by a bullet entering behind his left ear. X-ray films and CT scans of the paranasal sinuses at the time of the initial examination showed a bullet in the frontal part of the left maxillary sinus. Intracranial damage was not suspected. Treatment was carried out on the same day. The wound behind the left ear was opened, and a Caldwell-Luc operation was performed. The bullet was removed from inside the left maxillary sinus. The patient had slight difficulty in movement of the articulus mandibularis. No abnormality of the cranial nerves, including the facial nerve, was observed, and the patient's recovery after the operation was good.

宮沢賢治(以下賢治)が思想的関心を引きやすい文学者であることは誰しも認める所であろう。ここで「思想的関心をひきやすい」とは,賢治を文学者としてだけではなく一人の独自の思想家と考え,彼の思想を再構成しようとする試み,あるいは,特定の思想的立場から彼の作品にアプローチすることによって自らの思想の例証とする試み,あるいはその両者の混合を誘発しやすい作品群や伝記的事実を彼が残したことをさす。そもそも賢治が有名になるにあたって思想家・哲学者である谷川徹三が大きな役割を果たしたが,その後も梅原猛など,思想家・哲学者が賢治について発言する例は多い。また,文学研究者を自認するであろう人々の賢治論でも,現代思想を積極的に援用する例が多いのである。むしろこの傾向は近年強まっているように思われる。その例としては,ポスト・コロニアリズムまたはクレオール主義(西成彦,小森陽一),ソシュールやラカンなど(千葉-幹),ドゥルーズ=ガタリ(岡村民夫),ベンヤミンやアドルノ(中村三春)等があげられよう。さながら賢治は現代思想の実験場となっている感がある。このような文学者として他の例を探せば,ドイツのヘルダーリンが近い存在であろう。ヘルダーリンは彼自身が独自の思想家とみなされる面をもちながら,その文学作品にはヘーゲル的,ハイデガー的,マルクス的,ベンヤミン・アドルノ的等,多様な思想的解釈がされているのである。

The biosynthesis and destruction of anserine and carnosine in the rat were investigated in vivo using radioactive β-alanine, histidine and methylhistidine. In the normal rat, the incorporation of 14C-histidine and 14C-β-alanine into carnosine was found to proceed at significant rates, but their incorporation into anserine was hardly detectable. Radioactive anserine arising from 3H-Nπ-methylhistidine was detected in gastrocnemius muscle of the rat pretreated with β-alanine. Neither anserine nor carnosine biosynthesis was found in liver, but was found in gastrocnemius muscle. At 8 hr after the administration of a single dose of 14C-histidine or 14C-β-alanine, the incorporation of radioactivity into carnosine attained a plateau, and then maintained the level for the investigated period. Incorporation of 14C-histidine into carnosine was increased about 2-fold when rats were injected in advance with f-alanine. The half-lives of histidine and β-alanine were 0.67 and 0.41 hr in liver, and 3.6 and 2.3 hr in gastrocnemius muscle, respectively. β-Alanine and histidine in rat gastrocnemius muscle disappeared at the rates of 39 and 29 nmol/wet tissue (g)/hr, respectively. The half-life of carnosine, as was determined from the decrease in carnosine contents in the gastrocnemius muscle of a rat fed a histidine-free diet, was 29 days. The rate constant of carnosine biosynthesis in rat gastrocnemius muscle was 0.321 μmol/DNA (mg)/day, that is, 0.286 μmol/wet tissue (g)/day.
