マイナスイオンの身体への作用としては血液の酸性化を防ぎ、新陳代謝を高めることにより細胞機能の活性化、精神安定、疲労回復などが促されることが知られており、エアコンなどに組込みが行われている。これらの作用について科学的、定量的に検討された報告例がいくつかあるものの十分ではない。このため、本研究では被験者への吸入濃度を7,000個/cm^3あるいは20,000個/cm^3に調整したマイナスイオンによる自律神経系と循環器系への作用について、それぞれ皮膚電気活動と皮膚血流量を指標に測定した。その結果、皮膚血流量には有意な変化は見られなかったが、皮膚電気活動には有意な変化が認められた。これより、マイナスイオンが少なくとも自律神経系などの生理活動に作用していることが確認できた。

イワシを冷凍保存する際、脱水シートで包むことにより、ラップフィルムに比べドリップ量が抑えられ、酸化がわずかではあるが抑制された。官能検査においても、脱水シートの方が、焼き色、つや、総合評価において0.1%の危険率で有意差が認められ、全ての項目で脱水シートの効果が認められた。これらの結果より、脱水シートを利用することで、食品のもっている基本的性質をかえないで水分を減少させることが、食品の保存に対して効果があるばかりでなく、旨みを増し、ひいては、おいしさを向上させていることが示唆された。

(背景)前立腺重量と血液データとの関係に関する疫学的検討は,今までに行われておらず,この研究はそれらの関係を調べるために行われた。(対象と方法)北海道Y町において1988年から1990年に行った前立腺集団検診受診者のうち,50歳以上の前立腺癌を除いた432名を対象とした。血液検査(β-カロチン,総タンパク,総コレステロール,GOT,GPTなど)と前立腺重量測定を行い,前立腺重量と血液データとの関係を検討した。前立腺は経直腸的超音波断層像(TRUS)にて検査し,正常前立腺と前立腺肥大症(BPH)に分類した。前立腺重量は渡辺の方法に従い,TRUSより計測した。また,前立腺重量と喫煙・飲酒・身長・体重・年齢との関係も検討した。(結果)SASのlogistic procedureとgeneral linear models procedureによる分析では,正常前立腺重量とβ-カロチン・身長・体重が有意な正の相関を示し,喫煙と正常前立腺重量は有意な負の相関を示した。前立腺肥大症症例と正常例を比較すると,血清β-カロチンは肥大症の有意なpositive riskであり,HDL-コレステロール,飲酒および喫煙はnegative riskであった。(結論)血清β-カロチンと喫煙は前立腺肥大の形成に影響を与えていると考えられた。

A single-degree-of-freedom(SDOF) system with a mass(m), a spring(k), and a damping(c) is a basic mechanical system.It is well known that a complex mechanical system is represented by a combination of infinite number of SDOF systems.The modal analysis theory is based on this principle, but only one type among various types of SDOF systems is presently employed for a modeling of complex systems.When one needs to estimate m, k, and c of a SDOF system from the measurement of the resonance frequency and the loss factor, the relationships between them must be exactly known.Those relationships are known for commonly used SDOF systems, but those for rather unfamiliar types are not known.In this technical report, various types of SDOF systems and their equivalent electrical circuits are listed, and equations that relate the resonance frequencies to the undamped resonance(natural) frequencies and the loss factors are given.It is also shown that, for some type of SDOF systems, some cares must be taken how to interpret the loss factor.

Byssochlamys spp. について,簡便,迅速かつ正確に種を同定するために有効な遺伝子指標を評価する目的で,26株のByssochlamys spp. および関連菌種の18S rDNA, 26/28S rRNA遺伝子D2領域およびlys2 の塩基配列を決定し,分子系統解析および相同性解析を行った.その結果,いずれの遺伝子を用いても,その塩基配列の相同性を指標として,それぞれの菌種あるいはグループを識別することができた.3種類の遺伝子のうち,最も優れた解像度を有するのはlys2 であったが,最も簡便に結果を得ることができたのは26/28S rDNA D2領域であった.また,分子系統解析の結果,Byssochlamys spp. とその関連菌種は再分類の必要性があることが示唆された.

牧草を, 天日で能率的な乾燥をするため, ビニールハウス内で切断処理別, 草量差別の乾燥試験を行った。同じ条件で露地乾燥を併行し両者を比較検討した。1. ビニールハウス内乾燥は露地乾燥に比し, 乾燥速度が速く, 初夏には貯蔵に耐え得る乾草を得ることが出来た。平均乾減率は試験全期を通じて露地乾燥より, ハウス内乾燥の方が高く能率的である。2. 乾燥速度促進のための処理としては, 牧草を出来るだけ短かく切断, 又はフレール型のモアーで打砕処理すると効用が高い。他方, 面積当りの草量は少ない程乾燥速度が速くなる。3. ビニールハウス内の温度は, 日中外気温に比し10℃以上高く乾燥に効果的である。しかし夜間の気温は低いため効果は皆無である。

Twenty percent of dermatologists have experienced a separation of water or deterioration of topical corticosteroids mixed with commercially available ointments and/or creams. However, few investigations of this deterioration of admixtures have been reported. To assess the effects of preservatives in preventing microbial contamination of these admixtures, we attempted to investigate the concentration of preservative agents in admixtures and the microbial contamination of these admixtures with a topical corticosteroid ointment (Antebate®). The concentration of parabens was reduced by half using an admixture of corticosteroid ointment with four types of moisturizing creams, Urepearl, Pastaronsoft, Hirudoid, and Hirudoidsoft. After a further 3 months, no decrease in parabens was seen. No microbial contamination was found in any admixture stored at room temperature for 1 week and touched two times daily with a finger. The concentration and ratio of the parabens in the aqueous phase and oil phase were entirely different in the admixtures before being centrifuged. The aqueous phase of the admixtures of the oil/water (O/W)-type emulsions of Urepearl and Hirudoid was not found to have microbial contamination immediately after being centrifuged. All aqueous phases stored at room temperature or in a refrigerator for 1 week and touched with a finger twice daily exhibited microbial contamination. These experiments demonstrated that O/W-type emulsions, in which the water easily separates from the bases, should be thoroughly mixed to prevent microbial contamination.

筆者らは, 自然光下でビデオカメラ1台とパソコンのみによる, 重度肢体不自由者向けの視線入力システムについて研究している.その応用として, コミュニケーション支援を目的に, 12個で構成される複数の指標群を切り換えることにより文字を直接選択する方式の, かな漢字変換が可能な文字入力システムの開発についてすでに報告している.このシステムを拡張して, ファイル操作や各種アプリケーション操作などWindowsの汎用的な操作機能をもつ視線入力システムを開発した.本システムは日本語文字入力を含むWindowsのすべての操作が視線のみで可能であり, 汎用的なコンピュータ操作支援システムとして完成させることができた.

In this essay, I will explain dandyism represented in Oscar Wilde's comedies, examining the lines and photos of dandy characters and comparing three characters in his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray. Wilde says in his letter, 'Basil Hallward is what I think I am: Lord Henry what the world thinks to me: Dorian what I would like to be-in other ages, perhaps.' In his comedies, there are many dandies: they show 'narcissism,' 'revolt against the society and moral,' 'pursuit of modernism,' 'aesthetics of decadence' and 'voluntary spirit' Lord Darington in The Lady Windermere's Fan and Lord Illingworth in A Woman of No Importance are decadents who revolt against society. They resemble Lord Henry. Lord Goring in An Ideal Husband is narcissist but he saves his friend voluntarily. He is the same as Basil who is conscious about real life. Jack and Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest pursue pleasure in an imaginary life which resembles the fantastic life of eternal beauty in Dorian. As a result, Wilde wants to show his dandyism to describe many types of dandies in his comedies. These dandies, narcissists, create fashion with perfect attire. The most important dandy attire are the necktie and the buttonhole. In those days, the necktie was necessary for any man of society. The buttonhole was made of natural flowers, and was changed two or three times during the evening. Because they are so fragile, they symbolized the dandyism of Wilde.

次世代の半導体デバイスの高性能化実現のためには、ウエハ表面を極限までウルトラクリーンにすることが必要不可欠である。特に、ウエハに与えるダメージが少なく、低温で処理が可能であることから、現在でもウェットプロセスが広く採用されている。RCA洗浄において、有機物分子除去に用いられている硫酸過酸化水素洗浄(SPM)は、薬品を使用することや処理が高温であることから、廃液処理、操作性に問題がある。一方、オゾン添加超純水洗浄は、常温処理であり、さらに低濃度オゾンを使用していることから、廃液処理が必要とならない。オゾン超純水を使った有機物除去は、洗浄プロセスの低温化だけでなく、操作性の向上、廃液処理のクローズドシステムの実現も可能にする。
