Silicon carbide (SiC) is a promising wide-bandgap semiconductor for future power electronics and system applications. However, high-efficient and ultra-precise dicing of SiC remains a challenge due to its extremely high hardness and brittleness. Investigation of the influence of laser processing parameters on cut quality of laser diced SiC wafer can improve efficiency and precision. In this work, 4H-SiC wafers were processed with multi-passes of a CO_2 continuous laser source. The influence of the laser power and scanning speed on the cut quality was evaluated. The experimental results showed that it was possible to obtain a smooth surface, with average arithmetic roughness as small as 0.56μm at effective speed as fast as 1.25mm/s.

著者らはこれまでに、シミュレーションによって、住宅の断熱性能や外気温が異なる複数ケースを対象として連続・間欠運転を行うことによる消費電力、室温への影響の評価を行い、その結果、等級・外気温によらず、間欠運転(こまめな停止)よりも連続運転の方が好ましいという結果が得られた。本報では、断熱性能の異なる模擬住宅を用いて、冷房運転時におけるエアコンの間欠運転の挙動について実験による検討を行う。

In the rapidly globalizing world, we are facing a heap of complicated and challenging social problems in various areas regarding family, community, environment, education, health-care, work conditions, industrial economy, politics, defense, international relations, etc. In order to examine the nature of such problems that may have originated in the traditional patriarchic social structure, the present authors pay special attention to the ancient matriarchic society preceding the patriarchy. By means of scrutinizing the matriarchic society before the patriarchic domination, focusing on the people's view of nature, world, and life expressed in their myths and languages, we will be able to have some clues to tackle and solve our problems in the modern world. From this perspective, the present authors speculate what we can and should learn from the ancient archaic society in an interpretative approach of the myths and an etymological analysis of ancient words referring to the indispensable related literature, particularly J. J. Bachofen's Mutterrecht (1861), R. Graves's The Greek Myth (1955), B. G. Walker's The Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Sectrets (1983), E. Fromm's Love, Sexuality and Matriarchy (1994), and Yasutoshi Ueyama's Myths and Science (2001).

症例は30歳の男性である.発熱後に2週間で顔面の灼熱痛,咀嚼困難をみとめ入院した.両側三叉神経の運動感覚障害,左顔面神経麻痺,感音性難聴,ぶどう膜炎,耳下腺腫脹をみとめた.両側肺門部リンパ節腫脹,血清ACE上昇,ツベルクリン反応陰性,口唇粘膜生検で非乾酪性類上皮性肉芽腫をみとめ,完全型Heerfordt症候群と診断した.下顎皮膚組織に対するPGP9.5抗体をもちいた免疫染色でsmall fiber neuropathy(SFN)をみとめた.顔面痛は難治性で,発症3年後に急性膵炎で死亡した.剖検ではサルコイド結節をみとめなかったことから,難治性顔面痛の原因としてSFNの関与が強くうたがわれ報告する.

セレンは栄養学的に必須元素であることが認められていると同時に, 微量でも生体に有害な作用を及ぼす元素で, その必須量と有害量との差が小さい点で特異な元素である. その生体への取りこみ, 代謝に関してはまだ不明な点が多くその解明が待たれているが, 現在までにその代謝の有意義なモデル反応が知られていないためにその研究がおくれていた. 我々はセレンが生体内に入ってから代謝される過程で重要な反応と考えられている生体関連チオール類とのセレノトリスルフィドの生成及び分解反応を適当なモデル反応を用いて追究すること, 及びセレンの簡易な微量定量法を確立することがまず必要と考え, 数種のチオール類とセレン(IV)との反応を検討した. その結果ペニシラミンとの反応で生成するセレノトリスルフィドが極めて安定であることを見出し, それを単離し, 高速液体クロマトグラフィー, 各種分光学的方法によるキャラクタリゼーションを行い, かつグルタチオン, システインなどとのセレノトリスフィド生成反応をを解析し, チオール交換反応がセレノトリスルフィドの生成に伴いおこることを見出し, これらの反応はセレンの代謝過程のモデル反応として有意義なものであることを認めた. 一方従来より知られているセレンの分析法より簡便でかつ生体試料, 環境試料の分析に適する方法の確立を目的として上記のペニシラミンとのセレノトリスルフィド生成反応を利用することを考え, セレノトリスルフィド生成反応と発蛍光体への誘導反応とを組み合わせて高速液体クロマトグラフィーによる分析法を開発し, その方法が生体試料, 環境試料に適用できることをたしかめた. 今後この分析法を用いてさらに詳しく生体関連チオール類とセレンとの反応を解析し, かつ現在までにまだほとんど検討していないセレノトルスルフィドの分解反応についても検討し, その研究成果を基にしてセレンの生物活性に関する化学的研究の推進に寄与したい.

<p>天球儀を外側から直接観察しつつ地球から見た天体の動きも観察できるようにウェアラブルカメラを組み込んだ透視天球儀と市販の非透視型天球儀を用いて,教員免許状更新講習を実施した.受講者は天球儀の操作法を時間内に習得できた.多くの受講者から,天球儀を教材・教具として使用するメリットとして,季節や月日,時刻と天体の位置との関係や天体の相互位置関係が確認できることや簡単に観察・観測できない地点の星空の様子を確認できることが,デメリットとして「視点移動の難しさ」や「操作説明の難しさ」がそれぞれ寄せられた.改造した透視天球儀は,視点を変換しながら天体の動きの理解を促すものだと評価された.一方,問題点として「準備の簡素化」と「カメラから得られた画像中の星や星座をわかりやすくする」が特に指摘された.</p>

飼料構造論。飼料米。日本は「瑞穂の国」である。瑞穂とは、みずみずしい稲の穂を表現する言葉であり、日本の美称として、「瑞穂の国」という冠を頭上に載せてきた。瑞穂の国の歴史は、米をめぐるさまざまな社会の出来事の系譜でもある。五公五民という米で支払う重税の負荷と農民の呻吟、田畑永代売買の禁令、飢餓と打ち壊し、米価暴騰と買い占め、そして打ち壊し、第二次世界大戦後の食糧難等々、米は日本人の生活の中で重たい地位を占め、白米は、日本の長い歴史の中では、神聖な存在ですらあった。「米を家畜(畜生)に、とんでもない、罷り成らぬ」という心情は、つい、この前まではあった。しかし今、米(稲)と畜産の連携が、「瑞穂の国」の新たな形として推進され始めている。

This study examined the associations between sexual orientation, interpersonal factors, response styles, and mental health. A total of 1,330 graduate and undergraduate students—205 LGBs (lesbians, gays, and bisexuals) and 1,125 heterosexuals—completed a questionnaire on the topics of interpersonal stress, social support, two types of response styles (rumination and problem-solving), depression, and anxiety. The analysis of variance results indicated that LGB respondents reported more rumination and interpersonal stress and less social support than heterosexual respondents. Moreover, path and mediation analyses revealed that sexual orientation can increase depression and anxiety through interpersonal factors that promote rumination or inhibit problem-solving. These results suggest that LGB youth experience greater stress in interpersonal relationships, and this stress promotes maladaptive response styles that can exacerbate mental health.

食品は生きるために必要な栄養分を供給するが,多くの食品に発がん物質が含まれていることも否定できない事実である。例えば,国際がん研究機関(International Agency for Research on Cancer: IARC)が 2015 年に加工肉や赤肉に発がん性があると発表したことは,マスコミで取り上げられるや否や国内で大きな話題となった(農林水産省,2015)。こうしたことから,リスクとベネフィットを比較検討して食品を選択することが重要と考えられる。The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of numeracy on risk and benefit perceptions of food. Previous studies have shown that people tend to rely on affect feelings when appraising risk and benefit. These studies have also shown that people manifest an inverse relationship between perceived risk and benefit. However, there have not been so many studies about the roles of numeracy and critical thinking on balanced perceptions of risk and benefit. Therefore, the present study used two online surveys to clarify their roles. Results showed that people with higher numeracy had better comprehension of food risk/benefit information. Results also showed that perceived risk and benefit had a positive correlation for people with higher numeracy after information had been provided. These results were similar between Study 1 on coffee (N = 461) and Study 2 on red and processed meat (N = 496). The results suggest that people with higher numeracy have balanced perceptions of food risk/benefit, relying more on numerical information than on affect.
