The degree of trust in risk managers heavily influences the public's acceptance of new technologies. The present study examined factors affecting public trust in risk managers, integrating the salient value similarity (SVS) model and the traditional view of trust. A thousand residents in Tokyo and neighboring prefectures participated in a survey that investigated public trust in the government offices responsible for the decision to approve a genetically modified rice that claims to inhibit pollen allergies. In the high interest group, giving moral meaning to the outcomes of the decision was found to be a powerful predictor of trust. Perceived agreement in values between individuals and the regulators was also found to influence trust in decisions, as predicted by the SVS model. On the other hand, as expected with the traditional perspective on trust, a perception of procedural competency and a belief in the fairness of the risk managers were found to be powerful predictors of trust in the low interest group. Implications of these results for the practice of risk management were discussed.

In recent literature, it may seem that research on implicit aspects of self-esteem is increasing. Many have reported the high score of implicit self-esteem is associated with positive traits and behaviors. However, a number of studies on implicit self-esteem report different results. To add additional support to the discussion, this study examines the effects of explicit and implicit self-esteem on the concept of Schadenfreude, the pleasure caused by the misfortunes of others. Two studies were conducted on this topic. In study 1, 282 participants were given modified version of scenarios from Sawada (2008) and asked to evaluate the target person with a questionnaire, deciding if the participants were of high or low social status. In Study 2, effects of explicit and implicit self-esteem were examined using the scenario created in Study 1 among 92 participants. The analysis of variance revealed that a main effect of implicit self-esteem on schadenfreude towards a target person. The higher scores of implicit self-esteem would have a higher scores of schadenfreude. Furthermore, an interaction was found between social standing and implicit self-esteem, in that the high implicit self-esteem group showed high scores of schadenfreude towards an advantaged target person.

近年、脳内ホルモンの未知の生理作用が大きな脚光を浴びている。オキシトシンは出産、授乳時に子宮収縮や射乳を促すホルモンとして知られている。一方、同ホルモンについては脳内特に辺縁系にも多数のオキシトシン受容体が発現しており、オキシトシンの脳内における働きが注目されている。我々は海馬におけるオキシトシンの作用に注目して解析を行い、授乳中の母親マウスではオキシトシンにより記憶学習能力が向上することをすでに報告している。一方、近年オキシトシンによる不安情動調節作用が報告され注目されているが、そのメカニズムについては不明な点が多い。この基盤研究Bでは扁桃体機能に注目し、不安情動の調節機構を検索した。マウスを閉所に強制的に長時間閉じ込めるストレス負荷を行い行動解析すると、約一週間程度でストレス耐性を獲得する。この耐性獲得機構が扁桃体ニューロンにおいて、オキシトシンの分泌とRgs2と呼ばれるシグナル伝達系を介して制御されているとの仮説を証明した。本研究で得られた成果を今後さらに発展させ、in vivoで扁桃体へのRgs2遺伝子トランスフェクションやRNAiによる発現抑制などを行い、行動学的解析も用いて抗不安、抗ストレス作用の機構の解明を行う研究につなげてゆく予定である。今後この研究の発展により不安情動の新しい制御機構が可能となり、新しい治療法開発への糸口が開かれることと期待される。この意味でも本研究は大きな成果を上げることが出来た。

オオクチバスとブルーギルは,日本各地に移殖された外来魚で,ため池はその主要な生息場所となっている.本研究では,オオクチバスおよびブルーギルのため池からの用排水路を通じた移出状況を調査した.私たちは宮城県北部に位置する照越ため池の用水路と排水路に,ため池から流出した魚類を捕獲するトラップを設置した.4 月下旬から 7 月下旬の調査期間中,これらの外来魚は用水路と排水路の両方から何回も流出しており,その流出のタイミングは,それぞれの水路の通水期間に限られていた.体長 125 mm の成魚のブルーギルも流出していた.ため池の魚類生息数を池干しによって調査した結果,ため池に生息する外来魚のうち,オオクチバスは 4. 0%,ブルーギルは 7. 1%が流出していたことが示された.外来魚の流出は繰り返し生じ,生息個体数の数%が流出していたことから,外来魚の流出は稀な現象ではなく一般的な現象である可能性が高い.この結果は,ため池が下流域への外来魚供給源となっていることを示す.周辺地域への被害拡大を防ぐためにも,ため池の外来魚の駆除は重要だと言える.

A 30-year-old man presented with oral candidiasis and a history of lung abscess. He experienced recurring oral and skin candidiasis in childhood but spent long periods without any infections. Therefore, immunodeficiency was suspected. T and B lymphocyte and natural killer cell counts as well as immunoglobulin levels were normal. Human immunodeficiency virus test results were negative. Therefore, we suspected chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis (CMC). The signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) mutation, the leading cause of CMC, was detected by exome sequencing. Most cases of STAT-1 mutations are diagnosed in childhood, but a few are diagnosed in adulthood because Candida infections may not be severe.

A perfect reconstruction of functions in a reproducing kernel Hilbert space from a given set of sampling points is discussed. A necessary and sufficient condition for the corresponding reproducing kernel and the given set of sampling points to perfectly recover the functions is obtained in this paper. The key idea of our work is adopting the reproducing kernel Hilbert space corresponding to the Gramian matrix of the kernel and the given set of sampling points as the range space of a sampling operator and considering the orthogonal projector, defined via the range space, onto the closed linear subspace spanned by the kernel functions corresponding to the given sampling points. We also give an error analysis of a reconstructed function by incomplete sampling points.

夜の繁華街を来訪する若者を対象にした申請者の過年度調査では、感染予防の知識や検査に関する情報が十分に届いておらず、過去6ヶ月間のセックスパートナーの数は複数かつ、予防行動の実践は概して低率であることがわかっている。一方で“夜の街”で繰り広げられる人間関係や性関係とそれに関連する暴力・性暴力への予防介入研究の報告はほとんどなく、“夜の街”の実態に即した健康教育の実施が圧倒的に不足している。男性を主たる対象に、強引なナンパ・アルコール・性交渉は暴力になり得ること、加害者にならないような行動様式や交際規範を涵養することも、“夜の街”の若者たちへ予防の観点から介入を行う上で重要な視点である。

39歳女性の筋炎症状を伴った全身性強皮症〔progressive systemic sclerosis (PSS) 〕を精査加療した.患者は強度のレイノー現象にひき続く一過性の頭痛が頻発していた.附加観察として, 本症例を含む6例のPSS患者に寒冷刺激負荷試験を行い, その前後における眼底血管の変化を観察した.その結果レイノー現象に伴って頭痛を訴える患者群には眼底動脈の拡張が認められた.以上よりレイノー現象は四肢末端にとどまることなく大脳内末梢血管にも影響していることが示唆された.

慢性疼痛の治療には,薬物療法,心理療法,リハビリテーション治療,インターベンショナル治療,手術治療,そして集学的治療などがある.近年,痛みに関する教科書やガイドラインが発刊されている.本稿では,これらの書籍を参考にしながら,慢性疼痛の治療について解説した.さらに,2021年に発刊された「慢性疼痛診療ガイドライン」での推奨度やエビデンス総体の総括についても記載した.慢性疼痛の病態には,身体的要因のみならず,心理的・社会的要因も関与するため,慢性疼痛の治療にかかわる医療従事者の専門分野や治療内容もこれらの要素や要素間のかかわりを踏まえた多様なものである必要がある.

アジア・太平洋戦争期、『少年倶楽部』はジェンダー・イデオロギー生産装置として機能し、軍人を男のモデルとして「男らしさ」を連呼し、「少年」をウィークネス・フォビアの包囲網に囲み、そして戦場に送り続けた。やがて敗戦とともに、『少年倶楽部』は、その薄い冊子に平和と希望を語り始めた。だが、その厚さと同様、戦前のあの勢いは全く見られなかった。少年には希望や平和・反戦が語られるなか、戦前に野球を愛した男たちは早くも動き出し、GHQの後押しを受けながら次々と野球の復活を実現した。GHQの軍人、日系アメリカ人、プロ野球や学生野球を導く男たちには、それぞれの野球に対する思いがあった。そして野球復活のプロセスのなかで、精神野球のイデオローグ飛田穂洲を中心に、野球少年の美しさ、純情、さらに国家の再建を彼らに託す声が聞こえ始めた。やがて少年向けの野球雑誌が誕生し、飛田をはじめ野球に「少年」が学ぶべき「男らしさ」を見出す男たちは、戦い・団結・仇討の精神を、そしてそこに映る至極の少年美を語った。再開した高校野球の球児は、かつて夭折へと導かれた少年兵とその姿を重ねた。少年雑誌が見せたのは、「軍人的男性性」の復活といえよう。戦闘的な「男らしさ」は、一見平和を象徴する野球というスポーツを媒体とし、『野球少年』のような少年雑誌のなかで再びその姿を見せ始めたのだった。もちろん、少年雑誌が見せた復古的なマスキュリニティがかつてのヘゲモニックな地位に返り咲いた訳ではない。ジェンダーの境界線が揺さぶられ、決定的な男性モデルが喪失した占領下という時代は、複数のマスキュリニティーズの出現を可能にしていた。歴史的文脈において、それらを読み解いてゆくのが本研究のテーマであり、本稿はその第一章である。

This article deals with a musical study of the accompanied vocal piece “Kurokami” as it exists in the two different Edo-period vocal music genres, jiuta and nagauta, and reaches the conclusion that the jiuta piece is the older or original version of the two. The basic reason for this result lies in the fact that the jiuta shamisen and vocal parts as well as the nagauta shamisen part are basically identical in melodic movement, and this movement has been demonstrated to be based on the accent of Edo-period Japanese in the Kansai area. The setting of the text in this way indicates that the piece was most likely composed in the Kansai area. Jiuta was the music of the Kansai and nagauta that of the Kanto (Edo) areas, and it would appear unlikely that the nagauta version of the piece was the original since, if that was the case, it should be expected that the nagauta shamisen and vocal part should agree in melodic movement and present a version based on the accent of Japanese in the Edo region.

The effects of supplementary feeding with niacin were investigated upon gastric acidity and vitamin B12 binding capacity of the gastric mucosa in rats which had been placed on two kinds of basal diets: low-protein diet composed of polished rice, fermented soy bean paste and cabbage, and a normal-protein diet sup-plemented with casein, gelatin and several amino acids. Five and half months after the feeding, hyperfunction of acid secreting cells associated with increased gastric acidity was observed in rats fed on the low-protein-niacin-deficient diet rather than in rats on the normal niacin-protein diet. Vitamin B12 binding capacity of the gastric mucosa of rats which has been said to be in parallel with the secretion of intrinsic factor was found to be higher in the low-protein-niacin-deficient group than in the normal-niacin-protein group.
