北海道網走郡大空町にある旧大成小学校体育館で,コウモリの出産哺育コロニーが発見された.本コロニーを形成する個体の捕獲を行い,外部形態を精査したところ,乳頭が2対あることからヒメヒナコウモリと同定した.また,8月以降にコロニー周辺で拾得された2個体のコウモリについても,外部並びに頭骨計測値からヒメヒナコウモリと同定した.5回にわたる捕獲調査の結果,本種は6月下旬~7月上旬に出産し,8月上旬には幼獣が飛翔を始めていた.本コロニーを形成する雌成獣は約60頭であった.8月以降は,成獣はほとんどいなくなり,幼獣が大部分(96%)を占めていた.飛翔時の音声構造は,FM-QCF型であり,ピーク周波数の平均値は26.1 kHzであったが,FM成分とQCF成分の比率は飛翔環境によって大きく変化していた.ヒメヒナコウモリのねぐらおよび出産哺育個体群は国内初記録であり,今回の発見により,本種の国内における繁殖・定着が明らかになった.

As importance of the phase of complex spectrogram has been recognized widely, many techniques have been proposed for handling it. However, several definitions and terminologies for the same concept can be found in the literature, which has confused beginners. In this paper, two major definitions of the short-time Fourier transform and their phase conventions are summarized to alleviate such complication. A phase-aware signal-processing scheme based on phase conversion is also introduced with a set of executable MATLAB functions (https://doi.org/10/c3qb).

We conducted a study of judicial decisions on medical accidents covered between 1994 and 2000 by the Japanese press and Hanrei Times, a Japanese magazine specializing in judicial precedents, to obtain information on drug package inserts, and the extent to which these inserts are used as criteria for the judicial decisions.During the period studied, judicial decisions were issued regarding 514 cases of medical accidents, and a total of 1, 238 articles covering the decisions were published in the media referred to above. Looking at the changes in the number of cases by year, there were between 51 and 81 cases yearly from 1994 through 1999, while this number significantly increased in 2000, to 121.Out of the 514 cases, 34 (6.6%) were associated with drugs; drug package inserts were used as criteria for the decisions in four of the 34 cases, and 19 articles covering these four cases were carried in the media. Meanwhile, in 374 of the 514 cases (72.8%), it was judged that medical care personnel were to blame for the accidents, and these cases were covered in 1, 010 of the 1, 238 articles (81.6%) in the media.Common cases of malpractice pointed out to doctors and other medical personnel included violation of due care in terms of drug package inserts. Furthermore, a link between medical practice and the level of medical care was also indicated, as well as a link between package inserts and the level of medical care. The level of medical care varies due both to differences in medical services and the individual circumstances surrounding medical care providers, and negligence in collecting the latest information for medical findings is also included among the various types of malpractice.Other cases of malpractice included violations of accountability, in which medical care personnel neglected to inform patients of items mentioned in drug package inserts.Doctors, dentists, and other medical personnel must fully understand the descriptious given in drug package inserts.

経験からの学びの深化には,内省が欠かせない.本研究は,組織業績達成の中核者として活躍しながらも,経験からの学びが十分とはいえない中堅社員を対象に,内省プロセスの把握を目的として半構造化インタビューを行いM-GTA によって分析した.その結果,その内省プロセスは,まず仕事の問題解決の経緯を振り返り,次いで他者からの働きかけにより,自己の内面的特徴を多角的に検討することが分かった.また,内面的特徴の吟味過程で,自分自身の仕事観・信念と,仕事上の理想状態が葛藤すると,問題の本質的課題を理解しながらも,課題解決に向けた行動に取り組めないことが分かった.さらに,中堅社員の業務環境や振り返りの捉え方が,内省を「問題解決の経緯の想起」にとどめ,内面的特徴を検討する「深い内省」を妨げている恐れがあることが分かった.最後に,中堅社員自身が行動変容に取り組むための,上司からのOJT による内省支援施策の重要性を考察した.

進化を続ける世界のサイエンスコミュニティーの中で,各大学が独自性を「見える化」し,内外からの評価を向上させるには,一貫したポリシーに基づく戦略が必要である。その戦略策定の各段階において,エビデンスデータの活用が必須となっている。本稿では,現在の日本の状況を概観するとともに,国内5大学(名古屋大学,東京大学,慶應義塾大学,山口大学,岡山大学)における実際の先進的な分析,活用事例を紹介する。さらに,研究分析に用いるエビデンスデータの中核の1つを成す,ビブリオメトリクスの可能性や名寄せについても言及する。

高校生以上の子どもを2人もつ223組の中年期の夫婦を対象に調査を行い,夫婦間のコミュニケーション,共行動,夫婦間の葛藤解決方略といった夫婦関係のあり方が夫婦関係満足度,家族の安定性,および主観的幸福感にどのような影響を及ぼしているのかをマルチレベル構造方程式モデリングによって検討した。夫婦関係満足度への影響要因の分析では,夫と妻が別個に夫婦共行動の頻度が高いと認識しているだけでは個人レベルでの夫婦関係満足度の認知にしかつながらず,夫婦のコミュニケーションが充実していると夫と妻の双方がともに認知してはじめて2者関係レベルでの夫婦関係満足度を高める効果をもつことが示された。家族の安定性への影響要因の分析では,個人レベルで葛藤解決において夫婦関係外アプローチに積極的であることは,個人レベルでの家族の安定性を高く認知することにつながるが,2者関係レベルで,夫婦が一致して夫婦関係外アプローチに積極的であることは,家族の安定性を低く認知することにつながるという結果が得られた。主観的幸福感への影響要因の分析では,夫婦関係満足度の高いことは,個人レベルにおいて正の関連性を有していた。また,夫婦間の解決において夫婦関係外アプローチに積極的であることは個人レベルでのみ主観的幸福感を高めることが示された。

“Jin Ping Mei”, a novel completed during the late Ming Dynasty, revolves around the theme of sexual relations between the wealthy merchant Ximen Qing and his wives and mistresses. The story is set mainly on the limited stage of Ximen's jia or residence and describes the manners and customs of the time in great detail. For that reason, “Jin Ping Mei” has since been used as a historical and folkloric document that centers on the field of the necessities of life vis-à-vis life histories. In this paper, giving attention to the various locations of Ximen's jia from the point of view of residential history, I considered the formal significance of the women's actions at Ximen Qing's funeral and studied the influence that they exerted on the residence. First, if we analyze the layout of the mansion as well as the significance of each location, many interesting facts will come to light. In the Si-He-Yuan House, for instance, there were everyday spaces for women—centered around Shangfang, located north of Hou-Yimen (the “inner-facing” domain)—and spaces usually used by men—centered on Dating, located south of Hou-Yimen (the “outward-facing” domain). Supposing the above, an examination of the actions of the women at Ximen Qing's funeral is worthy, considering the social status of the deceased and the interest in the household among the public. The women's formal acts, the locations, and relationships in which they performed those acts have made this funeral an interesting subject for discussion. As Ximen Qing met his dying hour, he was clad in funeral clothing by his mistress in Shangfang and then brought to Datinng in the “outward-facing” domain. His mortal remains, placed in a coffin, were enshrined in Dating until just before the funeral procession. After the burial, the “Ling” of the deceased, who was called back by “Daotong, ” was sheltered in a mortuary tablet in Shangfang. Afterwards, the women made sure that the “Ling” entered Nirvana through the “Wuqi” ceremony. In other words, the women were responsible for ensuring his final departure to Nirvana in the “inner-facing” domain of them. That is to say, the women were principal actors in the commencement and completion of Ximen Qing's funeral, justifying the motivation of the study.

本発表では、東日本大震災における津波によって被災した地域社会が復興へと歩みをすすめる過程においてアニメ聖地巡礼者たちが果たしてきた役割について具体的事例とともに考察していく。地縁血縁的枠組みに基づくローカルな組織でも災害復興を目指すアドホックな組織でもない、趣味に基づいて形成された組織が災害復興において重要な役割のひとつを担っていることを震災前後のコンテクストに基づいて明らかにする。

The phylum Aquificae comprises chemolithoautotrophic thermophilic to hyperthermophilic bacteria, in which the nitrogenase reductase gene (nifH) has been reported. However, nitrogen-fixing activity has not yet been demonstrated in members of this deeply branching bacterial phylum. We isolated two thermophilic diazotrophic strains from chemosynthetic microbial communities in slightly alkaline hot springs (≥70°C) in Nakabusa, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. A phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA genes identified these strains as members of the genus Hydrogenobacter within Aquificae. Their NifH sequences showed 96.5 and 97.4% amino acid sequence identities to that from Hydrogenobacter thermophilus TK-6. Nitrogenase activity, measured by acetylene reduction, was confirmed in both strains at 70°C. These novel strains grew under semi-aerobic conditions by using CO2 as the sole carbon source and N2 as the sole nitrogen source in media containing hydrogen and/or thiosulfate. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of active nitrogen fixation in thermophilic bacteria at 70°C and in the phylum Aquificae.

症例は37歳女性.腹痛を主訴に入院,前医で特発性の慢性偽性腸閉塞症と診断されたが,当院での精査の結果,抗gAChR抗体陽性の自己免疫性自律神経節障害が原因疾患であると疑われた.コリンエステラーゼ阻害薬やステロイド,免疫調節薬の使用,単純血漿交換や二重膜濾過血漿交換,胃・腸管の減圧目的で胃瘻および腸瘻を内視鏡的に造設,大量免疫グロブリン療法とさまざまな治療を行ったが,治療抵抗性であった.

日本における生物多様性情報を発信するシステムに関する現状と課題を概説し、その課題を解消する一方法として生物多様性情報の簡易データベースシステムを提案した。現在の生物多様性情報の公開は、印刷物やウェブサイトなどが多くデータ形式がまちまちなため、データの検索や再利用がしばしば困難である。今回提案するシステムは、メタデータとデータの二枚の表から自動的にデータベースを作成するもので、データ提供者の作業を減らし、かつ自動的に標準的な方法で公開できる点で、データ提供者にも利用者にもメリットがある。また、オープンソフトウェアで構成され、システム自身もオープンソースで公開することで、今後の自由な更新が可能となる。データ公開の大きな流れの中で、このようなシステムを核とし、データ提供者と利用者双方が参加するコミュニティの形成が必要である。

「データからニュースを発見する」「データから発見したニュースをわかりやすく表現する」手段として,データジャーナリズムと呼ばれる,データを活用する報道手法が,日本をはじめ,世界各国の報道機関に急速に浸透している。データジャーナリズムの手法を取り入れた取材活動は,スクープを生み出し,政治や行政を動かす,あるいは社会に大きな影響を与えるなど,すでに大きな成果を上げ,さらにはニュースの概念をも変えている。本稿ではデータジャーナリズムについて概説したうえで,世界的な広がりをみせる背景とその影響について言及する。

These days, “Data Science” becomes a new trend of science by accumulation and analysis of scientific big data. This data science is considered to provide a very useful approach for, in particular, biological science because of its very diversed characters. Here, we point out the essential issues in biological data science, and how they could be solved in the PDB (Protein Data Bank) archive, which the authors manage as PDBj (PDB Japan), one of the wwPDB (world wide PDB) members with the global cooperation.
