We examined the neurological and pathological effects of moxibustion on body temperature in the rat by using in vivo physiological and pathological approaches. To mimic direct and indirect moxibustion, the forelimb skin of rats was stimulated by heat at 80 or 40°C. Heat at 40°C evoked rapid increases in rectal temperature and heart rate. Surgical and chemical sympathectomy antagonized these effects. In contrast, heat at 80°C evoked slow increases in rectal temperature and heart rate, as well as in blood tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6. Although the concentrations of these pyrogens increased significantly, surgical and chemical sympathectomy antagonized these effects. Collectively these data demonstrate that moxibustion may increase body core temperature mainly through sympathetic nerve stimulation, and that low-temperature stimulation is more effective than high-temperature treatment. Therefore, indirect moxibustion or moxibustion at low temperature is safer than direct moxibustion.

Primarily Ryosei-gun _??__??__??_ had been established in the 7th century as a political administration unit in the Ritsuryo _??__??_ State or the Codes of Law and Ethics State of Ancient Japan. According to historical materials it is verified that about in the 10th century there had been brought on considerable change to this system. Having examinated its disintegrating transition on focus of the shiftinglocal aspects, the author tries to clarify the general rules of the features of the political administrative district as a historical region.The conclusion is following:1) Ryosei-Gun _??__??__??_ were often divided into two new smaller Gun _??_ in the 8th or 9th century. These newly born Gun consisted of the subordinate unit such as Go _??_.2) In the 10th and 11th century, Ryosei-Gun _??__??__??_ were partitioned into several Gun _??_, Gô _??_, Jô _??_, In _??_, Agata _??_and so on. All of these local units similar to the Gun _??_unit were directly controlled by the Country Government (Kokuga _??__??_)and its subordinate unit, Go _??_itself also had been turned into small villages such as Go _??_, Mura _??_, Betsumyô _??__??_, Beppu _??__??_, Myô _??_ etc.3) Thus it is explicable that, Ryosei-Gun _??__??__??_, separated from their administrative function, became only a local unit.

We report a 19-year-old man suffering from acute poliomyelitis induced by the attenuated strain of type 3 polio virus. As he had severe muscular weakness in the right lower limb and slight weakness in the left lower limb, we prescribed the following rehabilitation program: active assistive or manual resistive exercises for his right lower limb, resistive exercises for his left lower limb, and gait training with a knee-ankle-foot orthosis. As only two or less than two cases of acute poliomyelitis a year have been reported in Japan, we are following up this patient from the standpoint of preventing post-polio syndrome.

This paper proposes a novel evolution strategy for noisy function optimization. We consider minimization of the expectation of a continuous domain function with stochastic parameters. The proposed method is an extended variant of distance-weighted exponential evolution strategy (DX-NES), which is a state-of-the-art algorithm for deterministic function optimization. We name it DX-NES for uncertain environments (DX-NES-UE). DX-NES-UE estimates the objective function by a quadratic surrogate function. In order to make a balance between speed and accuracy, DX-NES-UE uses surrogate function values when the noise is strong; otherwise it uses observed objective function values. We conduct numerical experiments on 20-dimensional benchmark problems to compare the performance of DX-NES-UE and that of uncertainty handling covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy (UH-CMA-ES). UH-CMA-ES is one of the most promising methods for noisy function optimization. Benchmark problems include a multimodal function, ill-scaled functions and a non-C2 function with additive noise and decision variable perturbation (sometime called actuator noise). The experiments show that DX-NES-UE requires about 1/100 times as many observations as UH-CMA-ES does on well-scaled functions. The performance difference is greater on ill-scaled functions.

10年間で成人無菌性髄膜炎,男性203例,女性157例を経験した.毎年夏~秋に,数回の小流行をみとめた.2012年流行期の21例中17例(81%)で起因ウイルスを同定した.試料の同定率は,便71%,髄液67%,咽頭拭い液42%,血清5%であった.すべてエンテロウイルスで,エコーウイルス(E)9型9例,E6型4例,コクサキーA9型1例,3例はエンテロウイルス属まで同定できた.E9型とE6型の臨床的差異はなかった.10年間でムンプス髄膜炎14例,水痘・帯状疱疹ウイルス髄膜炎8例,単純ヘルペスウイルス髄膜炎5例をみとめたが,散発的発症であった.流行性のものはエンテロウイルスが主であり良好な経過であった.

本研究では画像形態の位相的な性質に注目し、診断医と協働しながら以下の 2 つの医療画像データ群に, 計算論的トポロジー手法を適用した。①ウサギ腱移植モデルのマイクロ CT 画像データから再構築した 3 次元構造について、微細構造の骨梁数、開気孔、閉気孔の数を示す位相的不変量を計算した。組織学的観察結果と比較しながら、骨形態計測における定量的指標としてベッチ数比を提案した。②病理診断の免疫組織化学について、パーシステントホモロジー理論による定量的評価法を提案した。乳がん患者の染色画像データから計算したパーシステント図から新しい特徴量を定義し、病理医らの目視判断による従来の結果と比較検討した。

本稿の目的は、(1)社会科学において「意図せざる結果」の概念が持つ重要性を主張するとともに、(2)「意図せざる結果」について概念的検討を加え、今後の分析のための枠組みを提供することにある。社会科学の古典において「意図せざる結果は繰り返し論じられてきた。さらに現代においても「自己組織性」や「社会運動論」などの現代社会学の最先端で「意図せざる結果」が論ぜられており、この概念の重要性が示唆された。<BR> これらの研究の中でとりわけ重要なのはマートンとブードンである。そこでまず、マートンの「潜在機能」および「予言の自己成就」の2つの概念に検討を加え、これらの概念が「意図せざる結果」の下位類型であることを示した。次に、ブードンの研究を取り上げ、「意図せざる結果」の類型化の問題点を指摘するとともに、個々の行為が集積されるプロセスに着目した類型化の必要性を示唆した。最後に、ブードンによる「意図せざる結果」に関する社会理論の4つの形式─「マルクス型」、「トックヴィル型」、「マートン型」、「ウェーバー型」─を取り上げ、これらの類型が、ブードンの「方法論的個人主義」の立場と密接に関連して設定されていることを示し、「意図せざる結果」が生ずるプロセスについて一般的な枠組みを示唆した。

聴覚障害の親をもつ健聴の子ども(CODA)における親への通訳役割は,情報伝達にとどまらず親と社会との仲介役を担い,親子関係の形成に影響を与えることが指摘される.本研究では,CODAの児童期から成人期の通訳経験を通して形成された親子の認識とその変容を,質的側面から明らかにした.CODA成人25名,聴覚障害の親19名を対象とし,個別の半構造化面接(M-GTA)を用いて解析した.その結果,逐語録320,849文字から概念27種,カテゴリ6種,サブカテゴリ6種が生成された.CODAは児童期では無意識に親を擁護し,青年期では通訳と親に葛藤を生じさせるが成人期には受容した.親は,CODAの児童期と青年期ではCODAの通訳を頼るものの成人期では自立を志向する姿勢であった.CODAが,児童期に親を擁護する認識および成人期に親を受容する契機には独自性があった.親の受容にいたる心理的自立時期は個人差を示した.

本研究では,愛着の内的作業モデル(“不安”と“回避”)が対人情報処理に与える影響を,語彙判断課題を用いて検討した。実験参加者は大学生64名であった。“反応のずれ”(ネガティブ刺激に対する反応時間からポジティブ刺激に対する反応時間を減じた値)を従属変数とした階層的重回帰分析の結果,(1) 対人関係関連語において“反応のずれ”は“回避”からの有意な影響を受けていた。また,(2) 対人関係関連語の“反応のずれ”は“不安”と“回避”の交互作用の影響も受けていた。これらの効果は“不安”と“回避”の双方が高い場合に最も顕著であった。このことから,対人関係に関連した情報の処理は愛着の内的作業モデル,特に“回避”の影響を受けることが示唆された。しかしながら,(3) パーソナリティ関連語においては,“反応のずれ”は“不安”と“回避”のどちらの影響も受けていなかった。最後に,今後の方向性について議論された。
