原子力の社会的受容の促進のためには、全国各地で行われている原子力に関するシンポジウム等の場における議論を有意義なものにする必要がある。そのためには、これまで行われてきている議論の内容を分析し、議論の質に関する評価を行うことが重要である。本研究では、これまでに行われた賛成・反対の対立軸を持つ三つの議論の事例をマクロ分析手法を用いて解析した。その結果として議論を制御するファシリテーションの重要性が示された。

This study proposed and evaluated an audio-visual teaching aid for teaching rhythm of spoken English. The teaching aid instructs stress timing of English by movements of a circle marker on PC screen. Native Japanese participants exercised English sentences with and without the teaching aid and their speech sounds were recorded before and after the exercise. The results of analyses of the speech sounds showed that the teaching aid could improve in learning the English stress timing.

The author developed a new electromyography of the detrusor muscle which is applicable also for clinical examinations and obtained the following results:1. In the normal bladder no action potential appeared when the organ was not full yet.2. When the intravesical pressure was raised by introducing saline into trie bladder, spikes appeared.3. Spikes of high frequency appeared with the onset of voiding.4. In the normal bladder no action potential appeared by administration of 5 to 7 mg mecholyl.5. From some muscles of the dome of the bladder was obtained spontaneous spike potential consisting of spike burst of about 10 spikes. In an animal experiment using adult dogs the spikes of the simple type appeared. The discharge interval was about 5 seconds.6. In the bladder with damaged peripheral nerve, spikes appeared during veridical quiescence.7. In the bladder with damaged peripheral nerve, spikes of high frequency appeared by administration of 5 to 7 mg mecholyl.

A case of semantic aphasia (Luria) with difficulty in understanding logico-grammatical relations was reported. The patient, 28-year-old left-handed woman, was injured in a traffic accident in the right parieto-occipital area. After fifteen months of recuperation, she was noticed to suffer from mild word-finding difficulty, agraphia, acalculia, minimum right-left discrimination deficit and disturbance of logico-grammatical operations, in the context of excellent verbal I. Q. on the WAIS Test and almost normal performance on the Token Test and other syntax tests. Spatial organization and representation ability showed some decline. Difficulty of understanding logico-grammatical relations became apparent mostly in the case of double comparative constructions or triple constructions which required the subject, for instance, to draw a circle to the right of a triangle and to the left of a square. To decipher these logico-grammatical constructions according to grammatical rules, it seemed neccessary for the subject to consider the elements of the sentence simultaneously in order to know which is the main element acting as the basic point of judgment, to represent mentally the relation of elements as a spatial constellation, and to reverse mentally the word order in the sentence. It was difficult for the patient to meet these requirements.

数年前に大英博物館からネパール産のキク科植物標本が京都大学理学部植物学教室に到着した。私に種名の同定をしてほしいとのことであった。そのうち,わかったのは同定して返送したが,むずかしいのが残った。パリー自然史博物館から中国やベトナムのキク科植物標本を送ってもらって,それらを調べつつ,ネパールのキク科植物を再検討した。このほどようやく仕事が一応終った。そのうちの新種を報告する次第である。ヨモギ属の一種。姿や葉は日本のヤマヨモギに似ていて,頭花は大きく,球形で幅5mmほどある。英人が採集したが,1976年には田端英雄氏等もこれを採集した。田端氏等のは花が蕾である。そのほか,キケルビタ属一種。トウヒレン属2種。キオン属2種の発表である。ネパールは中国の四川,雲南と陸続きなので,多数のキク科植物が報告されている四川,雲南と共通する種も多いが,然しネパールに特産する種も可成りある。

Access to drug information (DI) needed to evaluate generic product bioequivalence was studied to identify problems with the current status of DI availability and encourage proper use of DI. Ten items were chosen from among the stock of branded products at the University Pharmacy, and five corresponding generics were selected for each item. Conditions of access to information on pharmacokinetic tests and dissolution tests were rated and the assigned ratings compared. In the case of pharmacokinetic parameters obtainable from makers of generic drugs, we also performed Welch's t-test to compare the difference between values reported for branded and generic products. From the standpoint of individual tests, the pharmacokinetic tests yielded higher scores on the whole than did the dissolution tests, and low scores were obtained for the half-life of blood drug concentration (T1/2). We observed a tendency for the adequacy of information to depend more upon the drug item itself than upon the nature of the test. The percentage of tests allowing for comparison with branded products varied from 0%-75% (average 49%). Parameter by parameter, the range of variation was from 35% of Tmax to 63% of Cmax. Factors precluding comparison included insufficient data on branded products, mismatch in assayed chemical species between branded and generic, mismatch between final sampling time in AUCt measurement, dosage inconsistency, and insufficient data on generic products. DI should be provided in a manner that facilitates comparison of information supplied by generic drug makers with data released by makers of branded products.

A case of complete deficiency of lactate dehydrogenase subunit H has been presented. Deficiency of LDH H-subunit of this case is one of inborn errors of metabolism. The propositus (J. A.) is a 64 year-old male with mild diabetes, which has been under good control by restricted diet and torazamide. Low serum LDH activity was noticed upon recent laboratory check-up, and finally, complete absence of LDH H-subunit was discovered by serum isoenzyme study. In addition, the erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets as well as saliva of the propositus were found to be deficient in LDH H-subunit. LDH of the propositus was composed only of M-subunit. Hence, the LDH isoenzyme patterns of the serum, blood cell and saliva in the propositus showed only one band, LDH-5 (MMMM tetramer). It is of special interest that erythrocytes fructose 1, 6-diphosphate, dihydroxyacetone phosphate, as well as glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate concentration in the propositus were found to be definitely increased. These data strongly suggest that disturbance in erythrocyte glycolysis exists at the glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase step. However, the erythrocyte glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity in this case was within the normal range, which suggests indirectly that the cause of this disturbance in glycolysis might be due to high NADH and relatively low NAD caused by block of LDH step. In the whole blood of the propositus, lactate concentration came out to be low, whereas that of pyruvate was within the normal range.<BR>The studies on reduction of methemoglobin with glucose and lactate suggest that LDH activity plays only a minor role in the reduction of methemoglobin in human erythrocytes.

本調査研究は、歴史的系譜と地域的特性を念頭に置き、科学技術と東南アジア・中東等に焦点を当て今日的な視点で取り組んできた。具体的には、イスラーム諸地域の研究者等と直接的に連携し、天文・陶器・医薬・建築等の分野で斬新な調査活動を進め、非イスラームとの相互交流から生まれ出た歴史的なイスラーム文化の保存・育成の研究に成果をもたらした。他方、ICT利用・医療サービス・金融等の今日的な課題に取り組むイスラーム諸地域の動きに関する調査分析も行なった。これらの成果は、早稲田大学、インドネシア国立イスラーム大学等で行われた計6回のシンポジウム等で今日のイスラーム問題の躍動する建設的な側面を明らかにできた。
