スポーツファン(ここでは「高頻度観戦者」をスポーツファンとした)の消費行動の時系列的側面、とりわけテレビ・スポーツ放送視聴との関係性を明らかにすることを目的とした本研究は、二つの方向性から研究を進めた。第一に、スポーツファンの概念的理解を進めるべく、東京都調布市の味の素スタジアム、大分県大分市の大分スタジアム、宮城県仙台市のユアテックスタジアムにおいて観戦者調査を実施し、実態分析を行った。そこでは、スポーツファンの様々な消費行動(試合を見に行く・応援グッズを買う)が、主としてテレビなど外部からの情報に依存している、という傾向が見られたものの、スタジアムへ観戦に向かわせるという行動に対してテレビ視聴が影響を与えているとは明確に言えないということが明らかとなった。スポーツファンに対して行ったインタビュー調査によれば、ファンとしてのキャリアの「入口」においてテレビ・スポーツ視聴は、応援に関する情報源として影響を与えるが、スタジアムへ足を運ばせるという行動に対して影響を与えているとは言えないということが示唆された。第二に、スポーツファンの形成プロセスに特に重要な役割を果たすと考えられるテレビ放送事業者による放送環境整備に対して理解を進めるべく、地方都市においてケーブルテレビならびに地上波放送の放送事業者に対してヒアリング調査を行った。そこでは、スポーツの中継が多くの者を引きつける「キラーコンテンツ」であるということを放送事業者が認識しているにもかかわらず、主として二つの理由から、充分な戦略を採用できないことが明らかとなった。具体的には、(1)魅力的なコンテンツ確保が地域レベルの放送事業者の財政力では困難であること、(2)たとえ財政力があったとしても複雑な放映権を巡る権利処理に膨大な時間がかかってしまうことである。第一、第二の結果より、スポーツファンは「スタジアムでの観戦」ができない場合の代替行為としてテレビによる観戦を行う傾向があるにも関わらず、放送事業者はそのようなファンの視聴特性を把握し切れていないということが明らかとなった。

組込みコンピュータの高性能化とネットワークに接続可能なインタフェースが搭載されたことにより,センサ機器を利用したWebサービスの開発が盛んになっている.従来の組込みシステム開発では,ターゲットデバイスの性質に応じて複数の言語や開発環境を用いることから,開発効率が低いという問題がある.本研究は,Web 開発に適した軽量言語を組込み開発に適用し,ネットワーク接続された組込み機器群のシステム開発を容易にする開発環境を提供する.上記の問題に対して,本環境では Web との親和性の高い JavaScript を記述言語として採用し,サーバ上で動作する開発環境およびデバイス制御ライブラリ群を用意することで,単一の言語環境で複数の機器の制御を可能とした.制御ライブラリには,開発の抽象度に応じた API の提供,サーバ上でセンサ機器の制御を行うための JSON を中心としたデータ通信機構を提供した.

多くの小中学校では,食物アレルギーを持つ子どもに安全な給食を配膳するため,アレルギー対応した除去食や代替食の配膳がすすめられている.栄養士の負担軽減をすることで,アレルギー食材の誤食を防止し,安心安全な給食現場を支援するための,献立管理および注意喚起を行うWebアプリケーションシステムを開発した.本システムでは,代替献立管理および代替献立での食材提案を行い,栄養価を考慮した代替献立立案を支援する.

1997年3月26日(Ms=6.3)および 5月13日(Ms=6.2)に発生した鹿児島県北西部地震について央震から約40kmに雛れた地点で観測された ULF磁場データの解析を行い, 地震関連 ULF電磁気現象の特徴をスペクトル解析等で調査した. その結果, 周波数0.01Hzにおいて地震の2週間前から鉛直成分と水平成分の比 Z/Hの値が大ぎくなり, 約1週間継続し, その値が小さくなり, 地震が発生している. その後の余震活動や 5月13日(Ms=6.2)に関連するULF活動がその後のデータに出現していると推察される.

近年地震にともなって電離層が擾乱を受けることが明らかになってきている.本報告では仏国の地震電磁気専用衛星DEMETER上での送信局VLF/LF電波の強度測定に基づき,地震に伴う前兆的電離層擾乱の検出を目指す.2005年の日本国内での比較的大きな(マグニチュード5.5以上)地震(特に,8月16日の宮城県沖地震を中心に)に伴う前兆的電離層擾乱を日本の標準電波JJY局(40kHz)電波の受信により明らかにした.地震の一週間前後前より信号強度が顕著な減少を示している.これはLF電波のホイスラモードでの擾乱電離層(特にD層での異常)透過に伴う吸収増加として説明できる.

2012年5月21日、日本の広範囲において、非常に珍しい天体現象である金環日食が観測され、多くの国民が実際に太陽を観察した。本調査は、この金環日食が国民の科学技術に関連する意識に与えた影響について把握するため、2012年6月、8月及び12月にインターネット調査を実施した。その結果、国民の宇宙や天体に対する関心や子どもの理科に対する関心の高まりが見られた。

本研究は,量子効果デバイスを高温動作できるようにするために,熱電変換現象を利用した冷却基板(ナノフリーザ基板)の開発を目指して行われた.冷却機能の高効率化が期待できるシリコン・ゲルマニウム混合材料について,熱電変換の重要な物性値であるゼーベック係数(温度差を1℃与えたときに発生する熱起電力)を調べた.ゼーベック係数は,電子が寄与する成分と格子振動が寄与する成分があるが,格子振動による成分を決定する物性的要因を明らかにした.また,実際のデバイスを作製するためのプロセス技術を提案し,その基礎データを収集した.

It appears, from the public health viewpoint, the main goal should be to restrict the total fat intake to about 30 percent of energy intake, together with the recommendation that the total intake of saturated fatty acids and TFAs should not exceed 10 percent according to the Nordic Nutrition Recommendations, recently ratified by the Nordic Council of Ministers. This can be achieved by reducing the intake of hard, saturated fats by favoring edible fats, which are soft or fluid at room temperature. Recent studies indicate that TFAs formed during partial hydrogenation of unsaturated fatty acids may increase blood cholesterol and the risk of coronary heart disease. Nevertheless, the data to define the highest acceptable intake level of TFAs are still insufficient, and any recommendation should be considered in relation to other fatty acids in the diet. From the health point of view, saturated fatty acids of animal origin constitute the major problem. To reduce the total amount both of saturated and trans fatty acids, the consumer should primarily reduce the consumption of hard margarine and butter, and fat-containing dairy and meat products, as these foods have the highest content both of saturated and trans fatty acids.

分析哲学者を中心に昨今注目を集めている共同行為論の諸理論について紹介・検討し、さらに現象学、社会学理論等による知見を加えて、共同行為の構成要件、共同行為特有の意図性の諸原理、還元主義アプローチの当否、共同行為論における因果的解釈の射程などについて明らかにした。若手研究者を中心として組織された「行為論研究会」は学問分野を越える各学会等で注目を集め、一般公開の研究大会において報告されたその成果は、雑誌『行為論研究』にまとめられた。

日常生活を送る場所で,音楽を自らが演奏して楽しめる環境組み込み型の楽器の研究を行っている.その一つとして入浴中に浴槽をこすると鳴る 「キュッ,キュッ」 という音を利用して,DJ スクラッチ演奏が行えるシステム Bathcratch を制作した.ここでは,浴槽こすり音の特徴であるピッチの存在に着目し,その検出によってこすり音とそれ以外の音とを区別し,浴槽をこすった場合にのみスクラッチ音が鳴る仕組みを実現した.本報告では,その浴槽こすり音の解析や,Bathcratch システムの演奏処理部分を中心とした機能について述べる.We developed an environmental embedded instrument which we enjoy playing in everyday life. The Bathcratch system which is utilizing rubbing sounds of bathtub with some water enables us to play DJ scratch sounds. In this paper, we describe the system overview and its some functionalities including analyzing bathtub rubbing sounds and playing DJ scratch sounds.

本稿は ウェーブレット変換と高次局所自己相関特徴量を用いた画像データ索引自動生成法と対話的類似画像検索システムを提案する. このシステムの3つの枠組みとして 1) ウェーブレット変換による多重解像度解析を用いる。2) 特徴量抽出に高次局所自己相関関数を用いる. 3) 類似画像検索に近傍探索を用いる。上記の枠組みで スケッチ画像検索 輪郭画像検索 例示画像検索や例示画像にスケッチを描き加えての検索などを繰り返して画像を検索できる対話的類似画像検索システムのプロトタイプシステムを構築し 評価実験を行った. このプロトタイプの画像データとして 国立歴史民俗博物館の民俗学資料カードの写真3315枚を用いた. このプロトタイプでは 検索者がスケッチ画 写真や写真に手を加えた画像を質問画像として 類似画像検索ができる. また 検索者は 検索結果の候補画像を見ながら 質問画像を作り直すことを繰り返す 対話的な検索ができる. 評価実験から 対話的に類似画像検索を繰り返すことによってキーとなる最初の質問画像が曖昧な場合にも目的の画像を検索することできることが示された.In this paper we propose a basic framework on which similarity-based retrieval system based on image contents can be uniformly realized for a variety of contents such as a sketch, a boundary, an example image and these combination. The framework consists of three parts: 1) Hierarchical decomposition of images using orthogonal discrete wavelet transform (DWT), 2) Feature extraction by 2nd-order local autocorrelation, 3) Similar image retrieval from the database by nearest neighbor search. Based on the framework above, we have developed a prototype system of an image database on a personal computer with a scanner. This system includes 3315 images of classical pictures, patterns, and instruments, which are Japanese historical heritages and/or legacy objects collected in the National Museum of Japanese History. We use a WWW browser and the standard graphical tools as user interface. The system allows similarity retrieval based on example images, user-constructed sketches and drawings, and interactive combinations of these. Furthermore, the system supports interactive retrieval by browsing which is needed when users are vague about their retrieval needs or unfamiliar with the information available in the database. Experiments showed a good performance of interactive similarity retrieval based on contents.

This paper expounds the idea that a socio-economic order is a spontaneous and abstract order of productive activities, conjoining it with the Aristotelean notion that the essence of human existence consists in living a spontaneous life of activities for the fulfillment of its ultimate end. The spontaneity of the former is grounded in that of the latter, but human existence as a life of activities has no real value without a socio-economic order in which this life unfolds. Arguing that this order, if it is to persist and thrive, must be founded on moral principles, this paper scrutinizes the metaphysical foundations of moral laws and principles through an exegesis of Kant's moral philosophy (i.e., his notions of absolutely good will, autonomy, freedom, moral laws, and the kindgom of ends), and relating it to Aristotle's concept of entelecheia as the ultimate end of human existence. Kant's moral philosophy is founded on human existence rooted in the world of senses dictated by natural necessity as well as in the world of understanding governed by moral necessity. The moral necessity requires that human will to choose on actions must be determined autonomously by rational principles in accordance with the universal laws legislated by reason alone. This philosophy accords with Aristotle's metaphysics and ethics that the essence of the life of rational beings is to live a virtuous life of activities in accordance with rational principles and that this life requires that non-rational beings exist as resources for activities. Thus, Kant's metaphysics of universal moral laws as the categorical imperatives of human actions and Aristotle's ethics of virtuous living guided by phronesis (practical wisdom) are united to provide the moral and ethical cause of a socio-economic order in which humans as rational beings interact, unfold, and fulfill their lives of activities.

To investigate the development of olfactory preferences, a forced-choice procedure embedded in a simple task was used to 2-year-olds' (n=29) hedonic responses to two odors with those of 9 to 12-years-olds' (n=56) and those of adults' (n=29). Verbal communication abilities of 2-year-old children are immature, so to test their preferences for odors is complicated. To overcome this challenge, two physically similar boxes were prepared. f3-phenylethyl alcohol (a rose-like odor) was filled in one box and skatole was placed in the other. Infants watched an animation video in one box and the same video in the other box, and then they were asked in which box they preferred to watch the video again. The 9 to 12-years-old group and the adult group expressed a preference for the box with a rose-like odor. However, the infant group showed no preference between the rose-like odor box and the skatole odor box.

不連続体場での弾性、弾塑性、粘弾性の進行性破棄に応用できる解析法が浜島により開発された。本解析手法は熱・流体・応力の連成解析にも適用された。本解析手法は結晶構造のような多角形要素にも適用可能である。変位関数として3角形要素の定ひずみ要素を用いているため、そのままでは結晶構造モデルに対しては変形を十分表現することができない。ハイブリット仮想仕事の原理は、弱形式のつり合い式と弱形式の変形の連続条件となるが、本研究では、変形の連続条件に関して、要素内と要素間の剛性にそれぞれα、βをかけ、これらの値がつり合い式を満足し、かつ変形の誤差が最小となるように定められた。ただし、α、βの間にはα=β/(β-1)の関係がある。1995年1月17日に兵庫県南部地震が発生し、多くの人名が失われた。地殻変動解析の重要性が再認識されたが、本研究では、日本列島をブロック構造に分割し、本研究で開発された不連続体解析手法を用いて解析が行われた。その結果、本解析手法により、日本列島内陸の断層の動きを比較的良く表現できることを明らかにした。本解析ではせん断破壊と引張り破壊を同時に考慮しているが、引張り破壊時には断層面上の応力を全て解放している。引張り破壊領域は危険断層とされている部分に良く対応していることが明らかとなった。本研究では、種々の方法により地殻変動解析がなされたが、目的によりそれらを使い分けて利用することが必要である。今後はこれらの解析手法をうまく融合して、地球規模の地殻変動解析まで適用可能とするようにしたい。
