自己効力感 (self-efficacy) とは,課題をやり遂げる自信のことであり,これが高いと課題への動機づけが高まり,困難な課題にも粘り強く取り組むようになることが指摘されている。これまで,自己効力感を高めるプログラムはいくつも開発されているが,いずれもコストと時間がかかることが問題として挙げられる.本研究では,課題の図と地のコントラストを操作することにより,知覚的流暢性 (perceptual fluency) を高めるだけで,自己効力感が高まり,課題への粘り強さが高まることを示した。研究1では,知能検査の課題を,低いコントラストで呈示する条件と高いコントラストで呈示する条件で比較したところ,低コントラスト条件に比べて高コントラスト条件では,課題に対する自己効力感が高いことが明らかになった。研究2では,知覚的流暢性の操作が行動に与える影響を調べるため,知能検査の課題に解決不可能課題を挿入し,どちらの条件で実験参加者が粘り強く取り組むかを比較した。その結果,高コントラスト条件の課題の方が,低コントラスト条件の課題よりも,より長く取り組まれることが明らかになった。

Breeding sites of the Japanese Murrelet Synthliboramphus wumizusume are restricted to some small islands off Japan, but its breeding behavior and postbreeding dispersal are poorly known. On May 2003, an observation of a chick was reported in the south of Boso Peninsula, southeast Japan. On 16 May 2006, I observed two adults and two putative chicks of the Japanese Murrelet, on the coast of Tateyama City at the south end of Boso peninsula. This site is c. 70 km away from the nearest islands where this species is known to breed.

今日,ゲームやアニメ作品等に登場する2次元(2D)キャラクターが3次元(3D)CG化や立体造形(以下、フィギア)される傾向にある。また,アニメ等の作品自体の人気をも左右するキャラクターデザインは,今後益々重要になると考えた。そこで,本研究ではフィギア,日本人形,およびリカちゃん人形の顔の造形にはどのような相違があり,また人の顔と比較することによりどのように人の顔を抽象化しているかを明らかにすることを目的とした。まず、人や人形の顔の形状を3次元計測し,顔の曲面を構成するキーラインとして顔の特徴点における断面線7箇所を抽出した。次に,それらにおける曲率半径とその変化の仕方の分析結果と,高速フーリエ変換による曲率半径の周波数分析からそれぞれの顔の特徴分析を行った。また,その解析結果を人形の顔作りに応用し,評価を行った。その結果,それぞれの人形の特徴を作り分けることができ,その指針の有用性を確認した。

第二次世界大戦終結70周年の年にウクライナ問題の先鋭化は欧州における戦後処理(ヤルタ体制)、東西冷戦、ベルリンの壁撤去、ソ連邦の崩壊、EU/NATOの拡大と続く個々の出来事に内包された諸問題に因って引き起こされたものである。ウクライナ・ポロシェンコ政権を支持する米国、EUと対立するプーチン政権は欧米のみならずオーストラリア、日本からも経済制裁を受け、日増しにロシアが世界経済から孤立しているにも関わらず、プーチン大統領の支持率は80%を超えている。元々、ソ連時代からロシアは政経一体型の経済運営であるが、クリミア・ウクライナ問題に絡む一連の高い代償を払いながら強引に自らの政策を進めようとするのは、プーチン大統領の経済政策のルーツがオリガルヒ(新興財閥)との戦いであり、この戦いを通じて今日「国家資本主義」と言われる経済運営が形成されたのである。今後のロシアの資源・エネルギーを中心とする対東アジア経済政策をみる上で経済原則に依らない政治的、戦略的な意図を見ておかなければならない。

Electrode reactions in electrochemical devices often consist of charge transfer at electrode/electrolyte interface and charge compensation in electrode active material. Therefore, to design electrochemical devices with high electrochemical performance, it is important to understand electronic structures of the electrode/electrolyte interface and electrode bulk during electrochemical reactions, and to design electrode materials to control them. In this paper, certain phenomena at the electrode/electrolyte interface and electrode bulk in lithium-ion batteries are clarified by using synchrotron radiation X-ray analyses. The information obtained from those X-ray analyses are applied to control the structure of the electrode/electrolyte interface and electrode bulk. Moreover, new cathode materials for all-solid-state fluoride-ion with high power and cyclic performances have been developed, compared to simple metal/metal fluoride materials, by using the findings obtained from the synchrotron radiation X-ray analyses.

Many studies have been conducted for assessing the environmental impacts of organic agriculture. They compare, in general, a few agricultural systems including organic and conventional production. The comparison, however, raises several issues to be clarified from system thinking based on life cycle assessment (LCA). Therefore, this paper reviews applications of LCA to agriculture and presents the state of the art and some difficulties in the current studies. After surveying previous research projects and international conferences on agricultural LCA, applications of LCA to field crop production and horticulture are surveyed. Since the survey reveals the importance of utilizing multiple impact categories due to the existence of trade-offs between, for example, global worming and eutrophication, the relationship between environmental impacts of organic agriculture and impact categories in agricultural LCA is examined using previous LCA of wheat, in which data are gathered from field experiment. In addition, the problem with the selection of functional units is discussed because of the dependence of the results on the selection. The problem brings up a question how to cope with land in agricultural LCA and thus biodiversity and soil quality in agricultural LCA are reviewed. Finally, future research directions are presented for the development of agricultural LCA in Japan.

β2-Adrenergic agonists have been widely used to treat patients with asthma. Usually, oral dosage forms of β2-agonists have been used, but side effects such as palpitation and tremor have been reported because of excessive serum levels around Tmax. It is said that circadian variations exist in the manifestation of asthma with maximum incidence of asthma attacks in early morning at around 4 a.m., the so-called morning dip. Chronotherapy for asthma based on circadian rhythm should be more efficient and have a lower frequency of side effects. Accordingly we developed a transdermal delivery system of the β2-agonist tulobuterol adapted to the circadian rhythm. The system is designed to administer the appropriate dose of the drug at an optimal time using the so-called Crystal Reservoir System. The superiority of the transdermal formulation of tulobuterol over the current therapy using oral formulations of β2-stimulants was indicated by its excellent pharmacokinetic profile, and confirmed by the results of clinical trials. This formulation is the first transdermal chrono-delivery system reported anywhere in the world, and is expected to provide more effective and safe treatment of asthma and related diseases not only in adults, but also especially in children.

Voltage-dependent calcium channels are divided into L-, T- and N-types. Calcium channel blockers (CCBs) are widely used to treat hypertension and generally act on L-type calcium channels. Recent studies have suggested that L-type calcium channel blockade combined with T- or N-type calcium channel blockade may provide additive benefits in preventing cardiovascular and renal diseases.

傾向スコア解析や操作変数法といった統計学的因果推論手法を用いた研究がリハビリテーション医学領域でも増加している.傾向スコアとは治療を受ける傾向(確率)を表す値であり,交絡因子から推定できる.傾向スコア解析では調整したい交絡因子が多数ある場合でも,モデルの誤設定や多重共線性の問題を気にする必要がない.操作変数法は未測定交絡因子の調整を行うことができる解析法である.操作変数とは治療の選択を左右する因子であり,アウトカムと直接関連していないことが条件である.適当な操作変数をみつけられるかどうかが鍵となるが,各施設におけるリハビリテーション治療実施割合や週末入院などが操作変数として利用されている.

COVID-19によりテレワーク導入が加速化し、すでに3年が経過した。パンデミックが落ち着いてもテレワークの継続が定着しつつある一方、在場勤務に戻す企業も多くある。テレワークにより、働き方に関わる法的課題や、人事部門として課題と認識する内容が浮上してきた。よって「テレワークの必要性と定着への課題」、「テレワークによるwell-being 向上」及び「サスティナブルな経営の手法の1つとして継続的に考えるべき内容」について記述する。
