The maturation-inducing hormone 17(alpha), 20(beta)-dihydroxy-4-pregnen-3-one (DHP) was first identified in the amago salmon. Although carbonyl reductase-like 20 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (CR/20b-HSD) was reported to convert 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone (17OHP) to DHP in rainbow trout, we previously found that CR/20 beta-HSD messenger RNA (mRNA) was not upregulated in stimulated granulosa cells from masu salmon, which suggested that DHP is synthesized by a different enzyme. Accordingly, the current study aimed to identify the specific 20 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (20 beta-HSD) responsible for DHP production by granulosa cells during final oocyte maturation in masu salmon. RNA sequencing was performed on granulosa layers that were isolated from ovarian follicles at 1 month before ovulation and incubated with or without forskolin, which was used to mimic luteinizing hormone, and similar to 12 million reads were obtained, which yielded 71,062 contigs of > 100 bp. tBlastx analysis identified 1 contig (#f103496)as similar to 17 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 12 (hsd17 beta 12); however, because the full-length #f103496 sequence was different from hsd17 beta 12, it was termed hsd17 beta 12-like (hsd17 beta 12l). We found that mammalian cells transfected with full-length hsd171 beta 2l exhibited considerable 20b-HSD activity, as indicated by efficient conversion of exogenous 17OHP to DHP. In addition, we found that hsd17 beta 12l mRNA levels were consistently low in follicles during vitellogenic growth; however, the levels increased significantly during final oocytematuration. The levels of hsd17 beta 12lmRNA were also considerably increased in granulosa layers in which 20 beta-HSD activity was induced by salmon pituitary extract. Therefore, we suggest that hsd17 beta 12l, not CR/20 beta-HSD, is the 20 beta-HSD responsible for DHP production by granulosa cells in masu salmon during final oocytematuration.

目的:三陰交への灸刺激が,女子大学生の月経随伴症状,体温および自律神経活動に及ぼす効果を明らかにする.方法:31名の女子大学生を対象に,月経終了後から次回の月経終了日まで約一か月間,三陰交への灸刺激を各自で行ってもらった.灸刺激前後の黄体期,卵胞期に修正MSQ スコア,月経痛,体温,自律神経活動値(心拍変動解析)を測定した.結果:灸刺激後,黄体期の月経随伴症状は軽減した(p=0.025).修正MDQ スコア下位項目では,黄体期の「痛み(p=0.0016)」「行動の変化(p=0.044)」「否定的感情(p=0.037)」「PMS 症状(p=0.025)」スコアが有意に下降し,「気分の高揚」スコアが有意に上昇した(p=0.025).また,月経痛のスコアは有意に減少した(p=0.005).灸刺激後,黄体期の足部深部温は有意に上昇し(p=0.047),自律神経活動は黄体期に,HF の有意な低下(p=0.029)とLF/HF の有意な上昇(p=0.044)がみられた.結論:三陰交への灸刺激は若年女性の足部の体温を上昇させ,月経随伴症状や月経痛を軽減させることが示唆された.また,灸刺激は副交感神経活動の低下と交感神経活動の上昇を促す可能性がある.Purpose: This study aimed to clarify the changes in menstruation-associated symptoms, temperature, and autonomic nervous activity after moxibustion in Sp6.Methods: Thirty-one female college students underwent moxibustion in Sp6 during the period from the last day of menstruation to the beginning day of the next menstruation, and their menstruation-associated symptoms (modified MDQ score), body temperature (sole and abdominal), and autonomic nervous activity (measures from heart rate variability), during the luteal and follicular phases were assessed.Result: After performing moxibustion, the modified MDQ score during the luteal phase decreased (p=0.025). Among the nine factors of the modified MDQ score, significant reductions were observed in the scores for "pain (p=0.0016)", "change in behavior (p=0.044)", "negative feelings (p=0.037)" and "PMS symptoms (p=0.025)", However a significant increase in the "arousal" score was observed(p=0.025). The menstrual colic score also significantly decreased (p=0.005). The temperature of the deep part of the foot significantly increased after moxibustion (p=0. 047). Concerningautonomic nervous activity, a significant decrease in HF (p=0.029) and increase in LF/HF (p=0.044) were observed in the luteal phase.Conclusion: The present findings suggest that the moxibustion in Sp6 increases the foot’s temperature and reduces menstruation-associated symptoms. Moxibustion in Sp6 may decrease parasympathetic nerve activity and increase sympathetic nerve activity.

Many caldera volcanoes occur in the northern part of the Izu-Ogasawara Arc. These submarine calderas produced a large amount of pumice and show high gravity anomalies in the central parts along with small amplitude of magnetic anomalies on the volcanic edifices. They have no equivalent in the usual classification of on-land calderas as far as known. Elsewhere I proposed that the submarine "calderas" associated with pumice in the arc were pumice cones which were difficult to form under subaerial conditions but easy under subaqueous conditions. The Myojin Knoll is one of the typical pumice cones with calderas in the arc. It is located between Aogashima Island and Myojinsho Reef. The size of the knoll is about 18 km in diameter at the base and 950 m in height. The knoll has caldera structure on its summit. The nearly circular caldera rim is 5-7 km in diameter. The caldera floor is about 1400 m deep and 5-6 km across. A central cone rises from the floor. Relief of the caldera wall is about 700-900 m with the inner slope being at about 20-30°. The submersible study by Shinkai 2000 reported here shows that the top of knoll is constructed mainly of stratified pumice deposits underlain by rhyolitic lava. These rocks have characteristic chemical compositions with high SiO2 (more than 71 wt%) and low K2O (less than 0.86 wt%), and show similar range to the rocks from Aogashima Rift volcanoes to the west of the knoll rather than those from adjacent Myojinsho Reef Volcano. The eruption under the deep water conditions caused the deposition of pumice near the crater. The repetition of such eruptions formed the submarine pumice volcano. Acid volcanism under subaqueous conditions in the northern part of the arc formed the volcanoes with pumice cones and calderas.

イラスト投稿系のSNSでは予めユーザが付与したタグを使って投稿されたイラストを検索することができる.しかし,アニメやマンガのキャラクタイラストにおいてキャラクタ名・作品名等の具体的な情報のタグ付けは行われるが,髪型・服装等の抽象的な属性についてのタグ付けが行われていないため,「黒髪」のようなキャラクタの属性でイラストを絞り込むことが難しい.また,従来のタグ付け手法ではタグが付いているか付いていないかという情報でしか属性を表現できないため不十分である.そこで,本研究では「黒髪」「セーラー服」「眼鏡」等のキャラクタの一般的な属性をラベルとするイラストのデータセットを作成し,各属性におけるキャラクタの特徴を抽出するCNNを構築する.このCNNを用いてキャラクタ属性に基づくイラストのベクトル表現を生成し,イラスト検索における有用性を確認した結果について報告する.

岐阜大学21世紀COE「衛星生態学創生拠点―流域圏をモデルとした生態系機能評価―」(代表:村岡裕由 平成16年度~20年度)ではプログラムの中心的課題として、岐阜県高山市の大八賀川流域を対象に炭素吸収量などの生態系機能を面的に評価する研究を行っている。対象地域の代表的植生を示す場所にある2つの重点的観測サイト(スーパーサイト)での現地観測で得られた結果を用いて、陸面モデル NCAR LSMを対象地域に適した形に改良し、衛星リモートシンシングによって得られた土地利用などのデータを取り込み、気象モデルMM5と結合して流域での生態系機能評価を行うという手順を考え研究を行っている。そこでは生態系プロセス研究と衛星リモートセンシング、数値モデルの3つの研究分野の研究者がそれぞれの知識や技術を出し合い、相互理解を深めつつ協力して研究を進展させている。完成に近づいた現在の姿を報告する。

申請者らが開発した生体適合性ナノ粒子型 Gd-MRI 造影剤について、その性能の深化を目指し、種々の粒径・表面修飾および組成におけるプロトン緩和機構を NMR および MRI を用いて詳細に解析する。得られた知見とこれまでの報告を比較することで、ナノ粒子型 Gd-MRI 造影剤のプロトン緩和能について、高性能化への新たな指針を見出すとともに、動物実験によってその効果を検証する。最終的には、細胞単位での MRI 検出を可能にする新規造影剤を創製し、細胞の動きや病態メカニズム解明へ向けたツールとしての利用を目指す。

A three-level gate driver and a power Gallium Nitride High Electron Mobility Transistors (GaN HEMTs) were monolithically integrated to prevent false turn-on, reduce reverse conduction loss and realize fast switching. The proposed gate driver works with an external and an integrated capacitor which supply negative gate voltage. Monolithic integration makes power conversion circuits smaller in size and improves circuit performance due to its lower parasitics. The integrated MIM (Metal-Insulator-Metal) capacitor improves dv/dt immunity. Measurement results showed that the proposed GaN-IC realized fast switching speed of 3.7ns ton and 6.1ns toff, and improved efficiency of an SR buck-converter.

Schwalzwälderkirschtorte or Blackforest Cake is the most popular cake in Germany. Seemingly a traditional cake, its actual history is somewhat more complicated, as its origin and development are not clear. This paper attempts to clarify aspects of German cake culture by researching the historical changes of the Blackforest cake. The first chapter examines the history of German cakes and specifically the "torte," which is one type of cake in the German speaking world of Germany, Austria and part of Switzerland. The recipe for the Blackforest Cake first appeared in "250 Konditorei-Spezialitäten und wie sie entstehen," which was published in Germany in 1934. The second chapter compares and highlights the differences between the Blackforest cake of 1934 and its present-day form. The third chapter considers the broader implications of what changes to the Blackforest Cake may mean.
