The therapeutic effects of IPD-1151 T, a new anti-allergic agent, were compared with those of Tranilast in 356 patients with allergic rhinitis. The daily dosage was 300 mg (one capsule each, t.i.d.) for IPD-1151 T and 300 mg (one capsule each, t.i.d.) for Tranilast. Both test drugs were orally given for 6 weeks.The results of this study are summarized as follows :(1) IPD-1151 T showed significant superiority to Tranilast in “final global improvement rating”. Improvement rating was 55.0% for IPD-1151 T and 37.8% for Tranilast in terms of “moderate” plus “marked” improvement category.(2) The item evaluated, “overall safety rating” showed significant superiority of IPD-1151 T to Tranilast. The incidence of an adverse reaction or abnormal laboratory finding was noted as 3.7% fo IPD-1151 T and 11.0% of Tranilast.(3) The item evaluated, “global utility rating” showed significant superiority of IPD-1151 T to Tranilast. The utility rating was calculated as 53.2% of IPD-1151 T and 34.7% of Tranilast in terms of “moderately” plus “markedly” useful category.(4) Side effects were observed in 6 patients (3.7%) of IPD-1151 T and 18 patients (11.0%) Tranilast. All of these symptoms disappeared by symptomatic treatment or discontinued test drug.All the above results indicate that IPD-1151 T is safer and more effective than Tranilast. Therefore, IPD-1151 T is judged as a highly useful anti-allergic agent for the treatment of allergic rhinitis.

大腸癌61例を対象とし,AgNORsスコアの算定および免疫組織染色によりCD44v6の発現の有無の検討を行い,臨床病理学的所見との関連を検討した。大腸癌のAgNORsスコアは3.12〜4.55に分布し,平均は3.84±0.29(mean土S.D.) であり,正常粘膜60例の2.70±0.22より有意に高かった(p<0.05)。深達度では,ss a1以上ではmp以下より,P (+),H(+),n(+),ly(+)は各々陰性例より有意にAgNORsスコアが高く(p<0.05),特に肝転移の有無とは密接な関連がみられた(p<O.01)。CD44v6の発現の有無と臨床病理学的所見の比較では明らかな関連性はみられなかったが,異時性も含めた肝転移との検討ではCD44v6発現陰性群6/34よりCD44v6発現陽性群10/27で肝転移症例が多くみられる傾向があろた(p<O.1)。両因子を組み合わせた検討では高AgNORsかつCD44v6陽性では肝転移の頻度は7/16 (43.8%) と高率であり,低AgNORsかつCD44v6陰性では17例全例肝転移はみられなかった。またCD44v6の発現とAgNORsスコアの間には有意な関連はみられなかった。以上よりAgNORs染色が良悪性の鑑別に有用である可能性があり,両因子を組み合わせて検討することは肝転移の予測推定に有用であると思われた。またAgNORsスコアによって示される増殖活性と,接着因子CD44v6とは各々独立して肝転移に関与している可能性が示唆された。

東京都の3地区(あきる野市,調布市,大田区)の住民を対象に,アンケート調査と検診(スギ特異的IgE検査)によるスギ花粉症有病率調査を行い次の結果を得た.1)東京都における平成8年度のスギ花粉症有病率は,あきる野市で25.7%,調布市で21.1%,大田区で17.7%であった.2)年齢別有病率では30〜44歳がもっとも高く,あきる野市では40%を越えた.3)平成8年度の東京都全体のスギ花粉症推計有病率は19.4%で,昭和60年度の約2倍であった.4)最近約10年間での有病率の増加は,地区別では花粉数の多いあきる野市で高く,年齢別では14歳以下の低年齢層で高い傾向がみられた.

The Kabasawa placer deposit is categorized as one of the Pliocene ilmenite placer deposit and its sedimentary and conservative environment is controlled by warping movement of the Okubushi line. the purpose of this paper lies in the research of such elements which influenced the deposition of the Kabasawa placer deposit characteristics relating to type of movement, behavior and development stage of the Okubushi line made during the Pliocene era. The Okubushi line consists of combinations of cross structure of NW and NE branches meeting at tangent angles to each other which reflects the tectonics in the basement of this area. Of these, the NW brach plays a main role in the tectonic movement. The NW branch of Okubushi line controlled the deposition in Pliocene Sendai Group as well as Pliocene sedimentary basin after making warping movement and bringing about an upheaval on its southwestern side and tilting subsidence on its northeastern side. In other words, the NW branch brought about a differential movement of upheaval and subsidence through the depositional stage of Kameoka and Tatsunokuchi formation and the central part of the past upheaval changed into a depressional tilting subsidence at the depositional stage of Kitayama formation. Finally, the NW branch terminated its geologic movement with the eruption of tuff (acidic volcanic deposits) at the depositional stage of Hirosegawa tuff. The Kabasawa sandstone and conglomerate member intercalating Kabasawa ilmenite placer deposit, is a deltaic deposit which was piled up upon the region of depressional tilting subsidence during the depositional stage of Kitayama formation. It forms a circle of 2km diameter and has an extraordinary thick stratum. It is generally believed that the movement in the NW branch of Okubushi line is the result of a tectonic movement, referred to as “Green Tuff Crustal Movement”, in full activity during the Miocene era and succeeded to the Pliocene era in the northeastern part of Japan.

To evaluate the effectiveness, safety and utility of Emedastine difumarate (ED) in the treatment of Japanese cedar pollinosis, a multicentered, double-blind comparative study was performed in 290 patients in 1994.<br>Patients with Japanese cedar pollinosis were divided into two groups; the first group was treated with ED at a dose of 4mg/day starting two weeks before the season and continuing for the whole season. The second group was given an inactive placebo instead of ED during the pre-season and the early portion of the season and then replaced with ED during the later portion of the season.<br>As a result, the final improvement rate was significantly higher in the first group than that in the second group.<br>All subjective symptoms such as sneezing, nasal discharge, nasal obstruction and eye itching were suppressed due to ED treatment.<br>In conclusion, it was better to continuously administer ED to patients with pollinosis from the preseasonal period till the end of the season.<br>However, when the ED treatment was started in the midseason, the outcome was good, although less satisfactory than the outcome of continuous treatment given throughout the entire pollen season.

ビデオトラヒックの増加により,通信事業者では設備コスト削減に向け,キャッシュ技術に再び注目が集まっている.しかし,動画共有サイトにおけるUGC(User Generated Contents)の増加により,現在のビデオコンテンツは,大容量化に加え,人気度がロングテール化し,さらに短期的に人気コンテンツが変動するため,キャッシュ効果が得難い.本稿では,動画共有サイトにおけるコンテンツアクセス傾向情報を利用し,上記の特性を持つビデオコンテンツに対するキャッシュ連携方式の有効性評価を行う.そして,評価結果を基に,効率的なビデオコンテンツキャッシュシステムについて考察する.

Effects of iridoid glycosides on sex- and learning-behaviours induced by chronic"hanging stress"in mice, were studied. Drugs at a dose of 50 mg/kg were given orally every day after the exposure to stress. Geniposide and geniposidic acid showed a protective effect against decrease in sex behaviours, acceleration of extinction of memory, increase in failure of retrieval of memory, decrease of rectal temperature and enlargement of adrenal gland induced by the exposure to stress. Genipin showed a protective effect against decrease in licking, acceleration of extinction of memory, increase in failure of retrieval of memory and enlargement of adrenal gland, but promoted decrease in rectal temperature. Monotropein and gardenoside showed a weak protective effect against decrease in sex behaviours and acceleration of extinction of memory. Catalpol, aucubin and mussaenoside showed a weak protective effect against acceleration of extinction of memory, and mussaenoside showed an additional protective effect against increase in failure of retrieval of memory and decrease in rectal temperature.

ユビキタス情報社会の実現に向けて,ここ数年ホットスポットサービスが相次いで登場してきている.ホットスポットを渡り歩いてインターネットにアクセスする姿が遊牧民が水や牧草を求めて渡り歩く姿に似ていることからノマディックサービスとも言われている.本稿ではノマディック環境でのサービス事例とそれを支える要素技術についての概要を述べる.

大侵襲の消化器外科周術期の真菌血症の発生について検討した.対象は臓器真菌症を有さない胸部食道切除6例,胃全摘12例,膵切除4例で,術前,術後2,10日目に末梢静脈血を用いて細菌培養,カンジダ抗原価(Cand-Tec),β-D-glucan値(トキシカラー値とエンドスペシー値の差)を測定し,真菌血症の診断を行った.カンジダ抗原価,β-D-glucan値陽性率は2PODにはともに42.8%と有意に上昇し(p<0.01),カンジダ抗原価は10PODにさらに増加するのに対し,β-D-glucan値は減少し,一過性の上昇を示した.血液培養は全て陰性だった.術式別では食道切除術で陽性率が高かった.陽性群と陰性群で比較すると,カンジダ抗原価陽性群は手術侵襲が大きく,低栄養の症例が多かった.以上より,消化器外科手術後早期には培養陽性とはならぬが一過性の真菌血症が生じ,手術侵襲の程度や栄養状態と関連し,microbial translocationの可能性が強く示唆される.

今回,千葉大学医学部附属病院において,本県第1例目となるウイルソン病肝不全症例に対する生体部分肝移植の1例を実施したので報告する。症例(レシピエント)は13歳,男児であり,術前,凝固異常(HPT<35%)とともに,傾眠傾向を示していた。血液型はAB型,入院時の身長は176.0cm,体重は67.0kgであり,標準肝容積(SLV)=1273.6cm^3であった。ドナーは姉(異父)であり,血液型はA型(適合),身長は148.0cm,体重は50.0kgと比較的小柄であり,肝右葉の移植となった。術後は極めて良好な経過をたどり,肝機能は正常化(HPT>100%)し,術後72病日で退院となった。
