古今東西,諸国家の闘争から親密関係のいざこざにいたるまで,社会集団における「第三者」の影響力について多くのことが語られてきた.ジンメルの古典的な三者関係(トライアド)論は3という数そのものから生じる固有の特徴を問題とし,典型的な三様の集団化形式として「中立者と媒介者」「漁夫の利」「分割統治」をあげた.これまでの数理分析はトライアド・コアリッション(三者間の提携形成)の協力ゲーム分析に主眼がおかれていた.本稿では,非協力ゲームによるトライアド・コンフリクトのフォーマライゼーションを試み,部分ゲーム完全均衡分析を行った.そこから得られた理論的発見は,(1)第三者の,二者の非協力行動にたいする仲裁力と横領する力量,そして二者の協力行動にたいする抑止力が,トライアド・コンフリクトの均衡に深くかかわっている,(2)漁夫の利や分割支配をたくらむ第三者の力量があまりに強くなりすぎると,かえって第三者の優越的な地位は揺らぐ,(3)トライアド・コンフリクトはホッブス的秩序問題の議論とも密接な関係をもっている,ということである.

緩和ケア領域で経験する頭頸部がんや各種がんの皮膚転移, 非切除乳がんなどの体表部悪性腫瘍の出血に対しては, 有用な方法がなく止血に難渋していた. 今回われわれは, 中咽頭がん再発病巣から出血を繰り返し, 1日に5回前後の包交を必要としていた患者に対して, Mohsペーストを使用することにより著明な止血効果と滲出液やにおいの軽減が認められた症例を経験したので報告する. Mohsペーストは, 安価な材料を用いて院内調製が可能であり, その作用機序は主成分の塩化亜鉛が潰瘍面の水分によりイオン化し, 亜鉛イオンのタンパク凝集作用によって腫瘍細胞や腫瘍血管, および二次感染した細菌の細胞膜が硬化することによる. 本症例においてMohsペーストは, 予後の限られた患者が出血や滲出液, においに悩まされることなくQOLを維持するために効果的であった. 今後, 製剤の安定性や使用方法が確立され, 本法が普及することが期待される. シュードウリジン(Ψ)は,ウリジンが異性体化された構造を持つRNA修飾で,様々なノンコーディングRNA(ncRNA)やmRNAに広く存在することから,しばしば第5の塩基とも呼ばれる。ΨはRNA鎖のリン酸ジエステル骨格の安定化や,塩基対合を強化する役割が知られている。Ψ修飾酵素の変異はしばしばRNAの機能異常を引き起こし,X染色体連鎖先天性角化不全症(X-DC)や,鉄芽球性貧血を伴うミトコンドリアミオパチー(MLASA)などの疾患の原因となる。

The quality of ice cream surface degrades significantly from alteration of the surface properties due to the repetition of thaw-recrystallizing accompanied with temperature vibration at subzero temperature, a little above the melting temperature. For understanding the phenomena in detail, ice crystals in ice cream after once thawed and recrystallized was observed morphologically, and evaluated quantitatively by fractal analysis. It was shown that the shape of ice crystal recrystallized from once thawed ice cream was modified from round shape to complex shape, of which the degree depended on thawing temperature at subzero temperature. However, the ice crystal retuned gradually into round shape with increasing the holding time at the thawing temperature. These phenomena would be caused by spatial micro distribution of high concentration part which was organized in thawed ice cream by freezing concentration. That is, the complex ice crystal formed in thawed ice cream at subzero temperature would be induced by losing the micro uniformity of concentration.

イオン交換膜法と外側加熱型晶析缶の組合せによる製塩において, 結晶中に存在するカリウム, マグネシウム, カルシウム、硫酸イオンを定量し, 次の結論を得た.1)カリウム含量は300~1,600ppmで母液濃度に比例する.2)硫酸カルシウムは100~500ppmで, 粒径が小さくなると増加する. また, 母液濃縮缶での増加が顕著である.3)カルシウムに硫酸カルシウム以外の形で存在するものが30~140ppm存在し, その量は母液濃度増加とともに増加している.4)マグネシウムは10ppm以下で液泡中に存在すると考えられ, 液泡量は70~700ppmと推定された.

Single-leg standing is performed in various daily activities such as wearing and removing trousers, stepping into and out of a bathtub, and ascending and descending stairs. Therefore the acquisition of stable and safe single-leg standing is crucial for independent living. Watanabe et al. (Journal of Kansai Physical Therapy, Vol. 9) have reported the importance of the trunk and hip muscle activities of the legs both on and off the ground in the single-leg standing position. Single-leg standing also requires maintenance of the center of pressure (COP) by the foot on the ground. To achieve this condition, the functions of the trunk and hip as well as the functional activity of the foot on the ground have important roles, including the ability to keep COP in the same place, and the ability to flexibly shift COP with the foot on the ground. In addition to the trunk and hip muscle activities, these abilities are attained when the functional muscle activity of the foot activates the medial and lateral longitudinal and transverse arches. This paper describes the assessment methods of the lateral longitudinal arch and the function of the abductor digiti minimi muscle of the foot in supporting the lateral longitudinal arch.

近年のDNA分析技術の発展を背景としたジェネット識別データ等の蓄積により、タケ・ササ類の一斉開花に関する新たな視点が加わり、関連する議論を整理する必要があると考えられた。そこで本稿では、タケ・ササ類の一斉開花に関して、いくつかの用語の定義と仮説の提唱を行った。まず一斉開花の概念を整理し、開花の個体性と規模を明確に分けて表現することとし、「同調開花」、「単独開花」、「広域開花」および「小規模開花」という用語の使用を提唱した。次に、ジェネット混在型の空間分布構造が、タケ・ササ類の一斉開花性を強化する要因の一つになりうることを指摘し、「ジェネット混在型競争回避仮説」として提唱した。また、典型的な一回繁殖・一斉開花性には合致しない現象として「再開花」、「開花後生残稈」、「再生稈」、「小規模開花」、「一斉前小規模開花」および「一斉後小規模開花」に注目し、これらが一回繁殖・一斉開花性のリスク回避(保険)システムとして機能しうることを指摘した。最後に、個体群内に生じる可能性のある長周期開花性の突然変異は、長寿命クローナル植物のジェネット混在型高密度優占個体群において固定されやすいことを説明し、長期待機型一斉開花性の進化メカニズムの一つとして考えられることを提案した。

We investigated the effects of cedrol, which is a sesquiterpene alcohol contained in cedarwood oil, on sleep using overnight polysomnography. This study included 11 healthy females (24.5±2.1 years). Days 1 and 2 were regarded as adaptation nights. Days 3 to 6 (4 days) were regarded as experimental nights. As the experimental condition, cedrol was volatilized for 4 hours starting from 2 hours before lights were turned off. No odor was given during the placebo condition. Each condition was performed for 2 consecutive days, in reverse order. Sleep time increased and sleep latency shortened in the presence of cedrol compared to those of sleep with placebo (p<0.05). Furthermore, sleep efficiency slightly increased in the presence of cedrol (p<0.10). Cedrol inhibited the excitement of the sympathetic nervous system and made the parasympathetic nervous system dominant, which may have made it easy to fall asleep.

In this paper, we discuss the system of religious ritual in the relation between animals and man. Eating animals means to kill them. People go on killing animals for the sake of life. In the mountainous region, people maintain close relations with animals even in the present days. They depend on hunting animals for most of their food in ancient times. In this article, we bring out "the ritual of Shiromi shinto shrine" that is considered as "victim ritual". This ritual was formed and has been handed down in Miyazaki Prefecture Saito City in the deep and steep mountainous region. It is the religious ritual system that shows the way of living within a community. The death of animals means that animals dedicated themselves to people's life. So they have a deep sense of gratitude for the victim of animals. For the above people are deifying animals. In divine's presence, people are required to behave lovely and show a clean behavior towards animals. On the other hand, the process is about hunting and eating animals; "to rear-to kill-to dismantle-to cook-to share-to serve to the animal's soul". In divine's presence, people behave good enough in order to make public their "food activity's process". It is done by preventing evil. And thus people's behavior includes "pureness". On top of that, their behavior is closely tied to the order of the ritual. After this stage, "the soul of the animals", "the animals to eat", "the behavior of people" were purified. Furthermore, in this occasion, the religious world appears that includes the relation among "soul of animals", "behavior of people", "the divine". For the above reasons, "victim ritual" is considered a socioeconomic system that integrates communities.

本ポジションペーパーは,義歯床用の熱可塑性樹脂を用いた部分床義歯の呼称と定義を提案し,臨床適用への指針を示すことを目的とした.(公社)日本補綴歯科学会会員から,熱可塑性樹脂を用いた部分床義歯の臨床経験を有するエキスパートパネル14名を選出した.パネル会議で検討した結果,「義歯の維持部を義歯床用の樹脂を用いて製作したパーシャルデンチャーの総称」をノンメタルクラスプデンチャー(non-metal clasp denture)と呼称することとした.ノンメタルクラスプデンチャーは,樹脂と人工歯のみで構成される剛性のない義歯と,金属構造を有する剛性のある義歯とに区分される.剛性のないノンメタルクラスプデンチャーは,金属アレルギー症例などの特別な症例を除き,現在の補綴臨床の原則に照らし合わせ最終義歯として推奨できない.剛性のあるノンメタルクラスプデンチャーは,審美領域にメタルクラスプが走行することを患者が受け入れられない場合に推奨できる.ノンメタルクラスプデンチャーの設計は,原則的にメタルクラスプを用いた部分床義歯の設計に則したものでなければならない.熱可塑性樹脂の物性は材料によって大きく異なるため,各材料の特性を考慮して臨床適用する必要がある.全般的な特徴としては,アクリルレジンよりも変色,面荒れしやすく,材料によっては破折しやすい.現時点では,樹脂の理工学的性質と義歯の治療効果と術後経過に関する研究が不十分であり,今後これらの知見が集積され本ポジションペーパーの改訂とガイドラインの策定が望まれる.

According to MIYAKE (1978, 1982), there have been three species of the mole crabs, Hippa adactyla FABRICIUS, H. truncatifrons (MIERS) and H. pacifica (DANA) (Hippidae, Anomura, Decapoda, Crustacea) in the Japanese waters. Only one species, H. adactyla have been known from Sagami Bay. In the course of this study, the latter species, H. truncatifrons and H. pacifica were newly found from Sagami Bay, and H. truncatifrons predominates among the three species throughout the studied areas. In this study, the authors described and illustrated their distribution, variation of the body, colourations, growth rate, and feeding and mating habits. The authors also studies complete larval development of H. truncatifron. The larvae are reared in the laboratory and passed through five zoeal and one glaucothoe stages and reached to the first crab stage. All the larval and the first crab stages are described and illustrated herein, and some brief comparision and discussion with other related species are also given.

Nutritional deficiencies are not uncommon. Therefore, we must understand whether nutritional deficiencies can cause cognitive disorder. Wernicke-Korsakoff encephalopathy (WKE), which occurs as a result of thiamine deficiency, pellagra due to nicotinic acid deficiency, malignant anemia, which occurs as a result of vitamin B12 deficiency, and diabetic coma due to hypoglycemia, can all lead to cognitive disorder. We must treat these disorders at the appropriate time, in order to prevent the cognitive disorder from becoming chronic. In this article, we consider WKE. WKE is a metabolic disease that is treatable, when diagnosed in the early stage. In the general setting, it is difficult to diagnose WKE appropriately. Therefore, we must determine whether this nutrition deficiency can contribute to the development of this treatable cognitive disorder.

The aim of this study was to clarify the function of the abdominal muscles in stabilizing the trunk during shoulder flexion. We used surface electromyographic (EMG) data from the rectus abdominis (RA) and external oblique abdominis (EO) muscles of 7 healthy male subjects (age 29.4 ± 4.7 years). Muscle activities of the right anterior deltoid, serratus anterior (SA), RA, and EO muscles were recorded while maintaining right shoulder flexion. The subjects held a plumb-bob of 5% of body weight. The angles of shoulder flexion were 30°, 60°, 90°, and 120°, and they were maintained for a full 5 s in each position. EMG activities of EO during shoulder flexion of 120° and 90° were significantly greater than that during shoulder flexion of 30° (p<0.05). EMG activity of SA during shoulder flexion of 120° was significantly greater than that during shoulder flexion of 30° (p<0.05). EMG activity of RA during shoulder flexion of 120° was significantly higher than those during shoulder flexion of 30° and 60° (p<0.05). The abdominal muscles are necessary to stabilize rotation of the trunk when the scapula is moved and rotated upward by concentric contraction of SA. Therefore, EO on the side of movement plays a major role in controlling trunk rotation toward the contralateral side. Although the activity level of RA was low, we consider that the finding that this muscle showed significantly greater EMG activity was due to its activity in efficiently fixing the rectus sheath while acting in concert with EO. In physical therapy evaluating motor function of the upper extremities, it is important to evaluate the abdominal muscles as well.

【目的】多精巣症は,「同一固体に3 個以上の精巣が存在する先天奇形」と定義される稀な疾患である.われわれは多精巣症の臨床像,治療方針について検討した.【方法】対象は,昭和大学病院および関連病院3 施設において5 年間に経験した多精巣症の5 症例をもとに,後方視的に検討を行った.【結果】全例3 歳未満で,左側に存在し,停留精巣の手術を契機に診断した.1 例は片側に3 個の精巣を有し,内2 個は腹腔内に位置していた.4 例は,鼠径管内に2 個の精巣があった.いずれも温存し,精巣固定術を行った.術後,1 例は2 個の精巣すべてに発育を認めた.固定した 2 個の精巣中1 個の精巣に萎縮を認めたのは3 例あり,1 例はすべての精巣に萎縮を認めたため摘出した.【結論】余剰精巣は,腫瘍化と造精能の欠如を理由に摘出されることが多い.海外のレビュー140 例中,悪性腫瘍の合併は5.7%で,全例高位に位置していた.造精能の欠如例は26%で,多精巣の50%以上が造精能を有していた.文献的考察から,治療方針として精管との交通性がある小児例では温存し,成人例でも生検後に方針を決めるようにしたい.

In the vocabulary of sound symbolism of Present-day Japanese, there are a great many examples of word-pairs such as kira-kira: gira-gira, both of which denote substantially the same thing (or event), but connote differently. The denotata of these two are the same sense-impression we obtain from looking at some light-giving object e. g. the sun, and the connotatum of the former is, broadly speaking, our appreciation of the experience, whereas that of the latter seems to be a certain sense of displeasure, if not of disgust. Here we find our emotive attitude towards the event reflected faithfully in a contrastive sound pair; k: g, thus the expressive value of sounds peculiar to Japanese is exploited to the full. The kind of naturalistic connection here illustrated between the meaning of a word and its sound, however, does not normally exist outside the sphere of onomatopoeia in a wide sense of the term. But the author points out in this article that there are a number of word-pairs, mostly of colloquial usage, which, having nothing to do with onomatopoeia, can be regarded in their semantic structure as close parallels to the example above cited. A case in point is the pair; tori: dori. Now tori here means a bird or a chicken looked on as an edible thing, and dori stands for the inedible part, i. e. lungs and intestines, of a bird. One more example; hure: bure. A bure is trembling in general. A bure for a trembling of the hand as one takes pictures. To these are found corresponding verbs as well. Discussing these and other similar pairs in some detail, the author concludes that the functioning of morphophonemic contrasts of this kind are of two levels. As for denotative meaning, the contrast t: d etc. has an associative function. As for connotative meaning the same contrast has a dissociative, i. e. distinctive function.
