Neurolymphomatosisは脳神経を含む末梢神経,神経根あるいは神経叢へのリンパ腫の浸潤を呈する,臨床的には稀な疾患とされている1).今回,寛解導入後に末梢神経障害をきたし,神経生検によりneurolymphomatosisと診断し得たB cell lymphomaの2例を経験した.悪性リンパ腫の寛解導入後であっても末梢神経障害を呈した場合には,neurolymphomatosisを鑑別に入れ,神経生検を考慮する必要があると考えられた.

コンクリート造建物の外壁は一般に陶磁器質タイル張りや建築用仕上塗材の吹付けによって仕上げられており, またその下地としてコンクリートとの間にモルタル塗りを施す場合が多い。これらの仕上げは1964年の東京オリンピック以来, 建物の高層化・大型化と多量生産にともなって, コンクリート躯体とモルタル層または張付けモルタル層とタイルとの界面で剥離 (浮き) を生じたり, それがついには仕上層の剥落にまで発展し, 長い間しばしば社会問題として取り上げられてきた。1989年11月21日に北九州市小倉地区で発生したタイル外装壁における仕上層の剥落事故はその最悪の事態となり, 事故直後に日本建築仕上学会では外壁等剥落防止対策研究委員会を設置して問題点の解決のための4っの作業部会で調査・研究を行い, この成果を本年3月に公表した。これをもとにして, (1) 材料・工法の沿革, (2) 剥落防止のための設計・施工指針 (案), (3) 診断と補修技術, (4) 診断および補修・交換事例調査の分析について解説する。

This paper presents a hippocampal cognitive prosthesis chip designed for restoring the ability to form new long-term memories due to hippocampal system damage. The system-on-chip (SOC) consists of a 16-channel micro-power low-noise amplifier (LNA), high-pass filters, analog-digital converters (ADCs), a 16-channel spike-sorter, a generalized Laguerre-Volterra model multi-input, multi-output (GLVM-MIMO) hippocampal processor, an 8-channel neural stimulator and peripheral circuits. The proposed LNA achieved a voltage gain of 50dB, input-referred noise of 3.95µVrms, and noise efficiency factor (NEF) of 3.45 with the power consumption of 3.3µW. High-pass filters with a 300-Hz bandwidth are used to filter out the unwanted local field potential (LFP). 4 12-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADCs with a signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio (SNDR) of 63.37dB are designed for the digitization of the neural signals. A 16-channel spike-sorter has been integrated in the chip enabling a detection accuracy of 98.3% and a classification accuracy of 93.4% with power consumption of 19µW/ch. The MIMO hippocampal model processor predict output spatio-temporal patterns in CA1 according to the recorded input spatio-temporal patterns in CA3. The neural stimulator performs bipolar, symmetrical charge-balanced stimulation with a maximum current of 310µA, triggered by the processor output. The chip has been fabricated in 40nm standard CMOS technology, occupying a silicon area of 3mm2.

Several techniques have been developed to solve puzzle problems in conventional AI, but there are few attempts to compose problems automatically by computers. Tsume-Shogi, a mating problem of Japanese Chess, is a kind of puzzles that is created and solved according to specific rules. This paper presents a system to compose Tsume-Shogi problems by reverse method. The search space increases enormously when the reverse method is adopted, but we can reduce it by using some constraints. We conducted several experiments with our method to compose Tsume-Shogi problems and showed that our system could compose some good short Tsume-Shogi problems and some special Kyuku-Tsume problems.

We report that a nest of mud-dauber wasp, Sceliphron sp., was found in the Yagibara Shell Mound of Jomon cultural age in Chiba Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. This is the first record to be found nest of Aculeata from shell mounds. Though all Sceliphron species recorded from Honshu, Japan have been considered to be invasive insects, at least one species is considered to be native.

バッテリーは性能劣化が不可避であるため、長期間運用されたハイブリッド車においては燃費性能が変化することが危惧される。そこで18万キロ走行したハイブリッド車を用いて、新旧バッテリーそれぞれでJC08モード等の燃費を評価するとともに、バッテリー性能についてセル容量等の試験を行った。

During the early Paleogene (59–50 Ma), several short-term global warming events, known as hyperthermal events, occurred. Negative carbon isotope (δ13C) excursions are a typical proxy for detecting hyperthermal events. During the recovery from hyperthermal events, δ13C values returned toward pre-event levels via scavenging lighter C isotopes from the ocean and sequestrating them within sediments. The biological pump plays a key role in this process. Barium (Ba) is a nutrient-type element primarily transported in the water column by barite formed in microenvironments associated with the decomposition of organic matter, and the Ba-stable isotope ratio is a proxy of biological productivity. In this study, the δ138/134Ba values of bulk sediment samples from Ocean Drilling Program Site 738C in the southern part of the Kerguelen–Heard Plateau were analyzed. Although the samples predominantly comprised calcareous chalk corresponding to the latest Paleocene to early Eocene (56–52 Ma), the Ba isotope ratios of the bulk samples reflected a mixture of carbonate and barite. Three negative δ138/134Ba shifts were detected, corresponding to the global super-warming event “Paleocene–Eocene Thermal Maximum” at 56 Ma and to two hyperthermal events, known as ETM2 and I1. The changes in δ138/134Ba and δ13C values during PETM were comparable to those reported from the South Atlantic Ocean. Although commonly recognized, the scale of δ138/134Ba changes was smaller in the modest hyperthermal events (ETM2 and I1). Ba stable isotope ratios are a highly effective and powerful tool to reveal the response of the surficial system of Earth during hyperthermal events.

This is a study on the original plan and the wall paintings of the Shirosyoin of Ninomaru Palace of Nijo Castle. The results are as follows. 1. The Keicho plan of the Shirosyoin can be reconstructed. The alcove and the shelves were originally on the east of the jodannoma. The jodannoma and the Gedannoma were juxtaposed east and west. 2. The length of papers of wall paintings can be classified into the groups of the sliding doors and the walls in all rooms of the Shirosyoin. 3. Analyses of the paper size and the original plan have unveiled the fact that the panel paintings of the Shirosyoin were executed during the kan'ei era.

Japan played a major economic growth after the World War II, which could be realized with high industrial skill because of engineering education such as mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. However, in recent years, everyone agrees that the importance of information technology is rapidly increasing, while the industrial technology is also inevitable. Currently in Japan, IT education is responsible for the subject "Technology" in junior high schools and the subject "Informatics" in senior high schools. It is self-evident that excellent education relies heavily on excellent teachers. The recruitment of teachers in Japan is conducted for each prefectural board of education. The authors asked all the boards of education throughout the country to disclose information and investigated the present situation of hiring teachers. As a result, despite the fact that the number of faculty members in "Technology" in junior high schools and "Informatics" in senior high schools is much less than the required number, almost no faculty recruitment has been conducted, and as a result, It is clear that teachers of unrelated subjects doing classes or letting people without teacher's license temporarily take charge of classes. Because such an environment, class content is far from computer science in many cases, education is almost not done such as programming. Fulfilling the teacher recruitment and in-service teacher training and improving Japan's information technology capabilities, the authors are very worried about the future of Japan.

This study aimed to investigate the textural properties and cellular structure of three frozen⁄thawed Japanese radish cultivars (‘Kenka aokubi’, ‘Hoshi riso’, and ‘Ryujin miura No. 2’) after freezing and thawing. The impacts of the cell wall components, cell membrane parameters, and total soluble solids on the textural properties were also studied. The greatest firmness and least drip loss were found in the frozen/thawed ‘Ryujin miura No. 2’, followed by the ‘Hoshi riso’ and ‘Kenka aokubi’ cultivars. The cellular structure of frozen/thawed ‘Ryujin miura No. 2’ was well preserved while cell damage was found in the other cultivars. ‘Ryujin miura No. 2’ contained the highest amount of Na2CO3 soluble pectin and the lowest amounts of water soluble pectin in the alcohol-insoluble solids, indicating the greater cell wall rigidity compared to the other cultivars. However, cell membrane parameters were completely lost and no relationship between total soluble solids and textural properties was detected for all frozen/thawed samples. These findings highlight the importance of cultivar selection and cell wall rigidity for improvement of the quality of frozen/thawed Japanese radish.

ハトムギの外殻・薄皮・渋皮を含む全粒熱水抽出エキス(Coix-seed Reactive Derivatives;CRD)摂取が有用であった両手指の難治性貨幣状湿疹の1例を経験したので報告した.患者は52歳,女性.2012年3月に湿疹が多数出現し,全身に広がった.貨幣状湿疹の診断のもとにステロイド軟膏と抗ヒスタミン薬の内服を受けるも,好転しないため,発症から3年目の2015年に薬を中止した.2017年10月からCRDを1包あたり2.2 g含有する栄養補助食品を1日当たり2包摂取し始めたところ,急速に病変は改善し始め,摂取1ヶ月目には完治し,現在に至っている.本例は,発症から5年半という長期にわたって,とくに両手指に発疹と強い掻痒感が続いていたが,CRD摂取により,約1ヶ月という短期間に根治をみた例である.

ミロガバリンベシル酸塩(以下ミロガバリン,販売名:タリージェ®錠)は第一三共株式会社が創製した電位依存性カルシウムチャネルα2δサブユニットに対する新規のリガンドであり,末梢性神経障害性疼痛を適応症として2019年1月に承認された.ミロガバリンはα2δ-1およびα2δ-2サブユニットに対して強力かつ選択的な結合親和性を示し,特に,神経障害性疼痛において重要な役割を担うα2δ-1サブユニットに対して持続的に結合した.ラットの神経障害性疼痛モデルにおいて,ミロガバリンは強力かつ持続的な鎮痛作用を示した.リガンド結合能を欠失させたα2δサブユニット変異マウスを用いた検討において,ミロガバリンの鎮痛作用はα2δ-1変異マウスでは消失し,α2δ-2変異マウスでは野生型マウスと同様に認められたことから,その鎮痛作用はα2δ-1サブユニットを介して発現していると考えられた.ミロガバリンは経口吸収性が高く,血漿曝露量は用量に比例する.大部分が未変化体として尿中に排泄されることから,薬物相互作用が生じる可能性は低いが,腎機能障害患者ではクレアチニンクリアランス値に基づき用量調節が規定されている.ミロガバリンは末梢性神経障害性疼痛を対象とした検証試験として,糖尿病性末梢神経障害性疼痛を対象としたプラセボ対照試験および長期投与試験,帯状疱疹後神経痛を対象としたプラセボ対照試験および長期投与試験を国際共同試験として実施し,いずれにおいても有意な疼痛改善効果が示された.また,最大用量の30 mg/日まで忍容性が良好であった.ミロガバリンは有効性と安全性のバランスがとれており,末梢性神経障害性疼痛領域へ新たな治療の選択肢を提供することで,日本の患者さんや医療関係者の皆様に貢献できるものと期待している.

Jellyfish, sea anemone and coral are classified as members of the phylum Cnidaria. All cnidarians have a stinging cell, cnidocyte, and its stinging organelle nematocysts. Nematocyst stores venom and coiled needle inside and discharge the needle and inject venom into their prey. Both physical and chemical stimuli trigger nematocyst discharge. A lot of studies on the venom of cnidarians have been accomplished. As the results, it has been revealed that most of cnidarian venoms consisted of proteinaceous toxins. However, there are few studies on the low molecular weight compounds from the cnidarian nematocysts. Therefore, we started the search of low molecular weight compounds in the nematocyst. First target was the venomous jellyfish Chironex yamaguchii (Habu-kurage in Japanese). Nematocysts were isolated from C. yamaguchii tentacles. The isolated nematocyst and C. yamaguchii tentacle without nematocyst were extracted with 1 M NaCl solution using a mini-bead beater machine. The extracts were screened with LC-MS. It was clearly shown that three compounds all of which have [M+H]+ 517 were existed especially in nematocysts. Three compounds were isolated with HPLCs. NMR and MS spectra data of isolated compounds revealed their planar structure as cyclic γ-tetra glutamic acids. The determination of absolute stereochemistry of these compounds was established with organic synthesis, comparing optical rotation values and Marfey’s analysis. Three cyclic γ-tetra glutamic acids were designated as cnidarin4A (1a), cnidarin4B (1b) and cnidarin4C (1c), respectively. Cnidarin4A and cnidarin4B were new compounds. Cnidarin4C was first obtained as the natural product in this study. The existence of these compounds in marine animals has been studied using LC-MS. Cnidarin4s were detected from all the nine tested cnidarians, on the contrary no cnidarin4s were detected from all the seven tested the other phylum animals. Cnidarin4s are especially existed in animals of the phylum Cnidaria. The ecological role of cnidarin4s in cnidarians is a challenging subject to be elucidated.
