画像のメモリー効果や低消費電力化が期待できる双安定液晶素子が注目されている。そこで配向処理方法として以前から用いられているラビング法と光配向法を用い、配向膜表面に互いに直交する配向容易軸を形成する界面マイクロパターンによる双安定性を検討する。本研究では、界面マイクロパターンを用いた、ホモジニアス・90°TN双安定モデルを作製しスイッチングを試みた。

生きづらさを抱える人が自らの経験について社会的発言を行ったり,本人の立場による支援を実施したりすることが増えている。そうした活動に際して集合的なアイデンティティを形成することが効果的であるが,その在り方によっては集団の閉鎖性をもたらすことが懸念される。綾屋・熊谷による『つながりの作法』は障害を持つ人の立場から,経験の共通性と異質性の双方を視野に入れた集団形成を論じている。同書の示唆を受け,綾屋らによる「当事者研究」とは異なる伴走型支援の視点から社会的支援の在り方を構想する。

我々は、ツイステッド・ネマチック(Twisted Nematic)構造を固定化した光学機能性高分子液晶フィルム(LCフィルム)を開発した。本フィルムにおいてねじれ角とリターデーション、さらには複屈折の波長分散特性を制御し、最適化することにより、高コントラストのS TN液晶ディスプレイを実現することができる。また、ねじれ角、リターデーション等を制御することにより、ツイステッド・ネマチックだけでなく様々な構造をとることができ、コレステリック・フィルム等への応用が期待できる。

In general, manual sorting carries out for the quality inspection of corbicula shells prior to shipment. The inspection worker drops each corbicula shells on the concrete floor, and a shell is assessed as good or bad by the sound of collision with floor. The corbicula shell containing mud or nothing is specified as a bad corbicula. This manual sorting process is time consuming and laborious. In addition, this process is often prone to mistakes. In order to overcome the problem of manual sorting, an inspection probe has been developed. The inspection probe assesses a corbicula shell as good or bad by detecting the transmitted light spectra, and it has been tested that the probe can detect good and bad corbicula shells with an accuracy of 100%. Thereafter, a quality sorting device with the inspection probe has been developed for the commercial use. A laboratory based experiments have been conducted first to evaluate the performance of developed quality sorting device. The test results showed that the sorting device can sort shells with an accuracy of about 99%. Subsequently, a comprehensive evaluation experiment have also been carried out, and the experimental results showed that our developed sorting device is able to sort corbicula shells with an accuracy of 98.6%. This results implies that the present quality sorting device is ready to use for commercial sorting of corbicula shells

白下糖に見いだされた無機成分, 有機酸, 遊離アミノ酸を精製白糖に加えて, シェッフェ, ブラッドリー, ケンドール法に従って官能検査を行なった. 無機成分を精製白糖に加えた時, KCl等と無添加の白下糖の間にすべての方法で有意差があった. cis-アコニット酸と他の試料間の関係では, ブラッドリー法によって5%の危険率で有意差があった. アミノ酸のすべての試料間に, すべての方法で有意差がなかった.

Speech perception is often audiovisual, as demonstrated in the McGurk effect: Auditory and visual speech cues are integrated even when they are incongruent. Although this illusion suggests a universal process of audiovisual integration, the process has been shown to be modulated by language backgrounds. This paper reviews studies investigating inter-language differences in audiovisual speech perception. In these examinations with behavioral and neural data, it is shown that native speakers of English use visual speech cues more than those of Japanese, with different neural underpinnings for the two language groups.

The development of a carrier for the delivery of siRNA is a factor in the realization of RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutics. Modification of siRNA carriers with polyethylene glycol, i.e., PEGylation, is a general strategy for stabilizing a particle in the blood stream and delivering it to tissue or cells. However, it is well-known that, when a carrier is modified by PEGylation, it results in a significant inhibition of both cellular uptake and the endosomal escape process. In a previous study, we reported on the development of a multifunctional envelope-type nano device (MEND) for delivering siRNA and peptide-based functional devices for overcoming the effects conferred by PEGylation and succeeded in the delivery of siRNA to tumor tissue. In this study, we noticed that the pH-sensitive property, changing from neutral to cationic in response to a decrease in pH, could avoid the inhibition caused by PEGylation and succeeded in synthesizing a pH-sensitive cationic lipid, YSK05. The YSK05-MEND had a higher fusogenicity and potency for endosomal escape than other MENDs containing conventional cationic lipids. The PEGylated YSK05-MEND induced efficient gene silencing and avoided the inhibition of endosomal escape caused by PEGylation followed by optimization of the lipid composition. Furthermore, the intratumoral injection of the PEGylated YSK05-MEND resulted in a more efficient gene silencing compared with MENDs containing conventional cationic lipids. Thus, the YSK05-MEND is a promising siRNA carrier for avoiding the inhibition in intracellular trafficking caused by PEGylation both in vitro and in vivo.

将棋などの2人で行うボードゲームでは,ゲームを始める手番(先手・後手)によって取りやすい戦略が異なり,プレーヤーごとに得意な手番があるため,プレーヤーの希望を踏まえた上で公平に手番を決めるのが良い.しかし,取りたい手番をそのまま相手に伝えてしまうと,自身の戦略が相手に漏れてしまう.したがって,お互いに取りたい手番の情報は秘匿したまま,自分が持ちたい手番はできるだけ取れるように手番を決定できれば嬉しい.この問題は,現在一般に行われている振り駒やじゃんけんなどでは解決できない.本稿では,この問題の定式化を行い,この問題を解決する「希望に基づく秘匿先手決定プロトコル」を物理的なカード組を用いて構成する.これに加えて,問題を多人数に拡張し,希望者のみから公平かつ秘密に抽選する「隠密抽選プロトコル」も提案する.

これまで教育における平等の議論は、「標準」と「異なっている(差異)」という理由で不利な扱いを受けてきた人への補償主義的な資源分配に基づいてなされてきた。しかしながら、こうした分配的正義は、既存の社会・文化と親和的な価値を再生産するというアポリアを抱えている。本稿では、マーサ・ミノウの「関係性」アプローチと竹内章郎の「共同性」論を対象として、分配的正義に内在する支配的価値の再生産構造とそこからの脱却的視座を得ることを目的とする。この検討を通じて、分配的正義が人々の「差異」を本質的・帰属的なものと同定していたことが明らかとなるだろう。これは、「差異」が社会的に構築されたものであるという視角から分配的正義を鍛え直す必要性を示唆するものである。

The transformation of land from swidden based to permanent agriculture is an important issue related to the sustainable livelihood and land use system of people in mountain environments. This paper reports the introduction of paddy rice cultivation and its consequences in four swiddener communities in Arunachal Pradesh, India, by focusing on cultivation techniques. The Indian government introduced paddy rice cultivation to Arunachal Pradesh in the 1950s by teaching the required techniques and supplying seed and agricultural tools. However, few swiddeners began rice cultivation because they disliked working in muddy paddies that could not produce non-rice crops. During the “green revolution” in the 1970s, many people decided to create paddy fields after observing the remarkably high yield of new rice varieties. Over 60 years of trial and error, many swiddener communities have developed a unique cultivation system suited to their local environment, while often learning from their neighboring communities of Ahom and Apatani that already practiced paddy rice cultivation. The paddy field has become a symbol of wealth and social status because of the high and stable yield of paddy rice and escalating land prices. However, the communities usually continue some aspects of swidden cultivation, because only a limited amount of land is suitable for paddy rice, people need non-rice crops, or because older people prefer swidden cultivation work and the taste of upland rice. This case study shows the importance of local needs and knowledge of skilled farmers in swidden transformation.

作物栽培における除草剤の重要度は極めて大きく,最近新しい除草剤が単体,または混合剤として次々に登場しており,各地でその効果について検討されているが,MUPC(有効成分としてOMUを16.5%,BiPCを11.5%含む混合剤)もその1つで,これは非ホルモン型の移行性除草剤で含有される両成分のうちOMUは気温に左右されることが少ないが,BiPCは夏の高温時には揮発が多いためか除草効果が低減しやすく,夏作物よりも冬作物の除草剤として高い除草効果を示すといわれている。本場では1961年の夏からほ場試験で甘しょ,てん菜,麦,なたね等に対して供試し,'62年には更に乾田直まき水稲に対しても試験してその除草効果および作物の生育,収量におよぼす影響について検討したのでこれらの成績についてその概要を報告したい。

いわゆる両港両都開港土市延期交渉の為、竹内保徳を正使とする一行が、文久元年~二年 (1862~63) にわたり、欧州六箇国に派遺された。この一行は、それが鎖国のあと最初の欧行であり、かつ当時日本との間に最も外交上問題の多かつた英・仏・露 (樺太定境の目的もある。) へ使することからして、各国事情の偵探が、また大きな目的であつた。組頭柴田剛中の日記によれば、全行程は、(一)、往路、(二)、五箇国巡行、(三)、普仏再渡、(四)、復路に分けられるが、ここでは (一) を紹介する。江戸出発 (十二月二十二日) 後最初の外地香港には、事情探索に一週間の滞在をしているが、これには当時の米国の南北戦争の影響があつた。以後シンガポール (太平天国の乱を探る。) はじめ、英アジア政策上の要点を辿り、エジプト (トルコ領) を経て、マルセーユに到着 (三月五日) しているが、エジプトおよびマルタでは「仏器先後渡」の紛糾が起つた。これ等実際の体験により、一行の国際感覚は大いに高められた。In order to postpone the foreigner's residing period in Edo 江戸 and Osaka and to open the ports of Niigata 新潟 and Hyôgo 兵庫, the party, leaded by Yasunori Takeuchi 竹内保徳, was sent to the six countries in Europe, such as France, England, Holland, Prussia, Russia and Portugal, from 1862 to 1863; this meant the first travel to Europe after a long national isolation and the Important mission of investigating the condition of these countries with which our country had many diplomatic problems. According to the diary of Takenaka Shibata, chief attendant, we can divide their whole travel into four parts, (1) the outward travel, (2) the round travel of the five countries beside Portugal, (3) reentrance into Prussia and France, and (4) the return travel. This article treats the section (1) the outward travel. After the sailing from Edo 江戸 on January 21st, through Nagasaki 長崎, they stayed for a week in Hong Kong to investigate conditions there, this long stay which was under the influence of the Civil war in America. And then, passing Singapore at first and other points for the English advance to Asia, through Egypt of the then Turkish territory (under the construction of Suez Canal), they reached Marseilles on April 3rd. On the way they investigated in Singapore they investigated the Boxer Rebellion and in Egypt and Malta some trouble happened between France and England about the problem whether first landing place should be France or England. Through these experiences they had their international sense more improved.
