本稿では,生命の設計図を解明する巨大科学プロジェクトであったヒトゲノム計画を日米比較する事により,日本の科学技術政策決定過程を分析する。高度な専門知識を有する科学者が,政治アクターにどの様に関わり,科学技術分野で政策決定が行われているかを,境界組織を含むプリンシパル・エージェントのフレームワークで検証する。具体的には,米国では,科学技術関連省庁内の政策決定に権限を持つ地位に専門知識を有する科学者を配置する制度や,複数の科学評価機関が「統制された科学的市場(Regulated Scientific Market)」をプリンシパルに提供する制度が,政治と科学の媒介機能を生み出している。しかし,こうした機能を持つ制度が日本にはまだ整備されていない事を指摘する。

清酒 (Alc.10.0~14.5%) の表面におけるシェリー酒酵母の産膜の条件を検討したところ, 下記のような条件により清酒においても良好に産膜することがわかった。清酒への栄養分の強化として, ピオチン (2μg/l程度) とそれとの相乗効果を持つパントテン酸 (400μg/l程度) を添加すること, それにpHを3.5付近に調節することが必要であった。また, pHを調節する際に乳酸を用いること, 清酒に不足がちなK+ (250mg/l程度) を添加することも旺盛な皮膜を形成さぜるために有効であった。供試シェリー酒酵母6株とも良好に産膜したが, とりわけSF-1株とTOF-3株の2株は旺盛に産膜し, 生成酒の香味も良好であった。これらはいずれも培養温度15℃で最も良く産膜し, シェリー香も生成した。SF-1株を用いた小仕込試験の生成酒では, アセトアルデヒドの増加 (500~1,000ppm) が著しく, また有機酸の増加とアミノ酸の減少が見られた。

Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) is considered a potential target for cancer treatment because of its relationship with cellular transformation and tumor initiation and progression. In this study, we aimed to identify a new anti-cancer drug candidate from natural products by targeting STAT3 activity. Using STAT3-luciferase reporter cell line, we screened the chemical library of natural products and found that baicalein, a flavone isolated from the roots of Scutelleria baicalensis, strongly suppressed STAT3 activity in breast cancer cells. Baicalein inhibited STAT3 transcriptional activity and its phosphorylation, and further exhibited anti-proliferative effects in breast cancer cells. Moreover, baicalein suppressed the production of interleukin (IL)-6 and the metastatic potential of breast cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo. Collectively, our study suggests baicalein as an attractive phytochemical compound for reducing metastatic potential of breast cancer cells by regulating STAT3 activity.

[Objective] The purpose of this study was to determine whether icing treatment has an effect on muscle reaction time and functional performance of a sprained ankle. [Methods] Subjects were six persons (healthy group) and six persons who had an acute ankle sprain (patient group) . Anterior talar translation and talar tilt of the six patient group were evaluated by the stress X-ray measure. Ice treatment was applied for 20 minutes. [Results] The following points were clarified : 1) Reaction times of peroneus longus (PL) and peroneus brevis (PB) for the sprained ankle group (SA) were significantly longer than those for the non-sprained ankle group (NA) (p<0.05) . Length of time of standing on one leg with closed eyes for SA was significantly shorter than for NA (p<0.05) . 2) After icing treatment, reaction time of PL for SA tended to be shorter. Furthermore, PB significantly decreased after icing treatment (p<0.05) . Side-steps for SA were significantly increased after icing treatment (p<0.05) . 3) Reaction times of PL and PB for NA significantly increased after icing treatment (p<0.05) . Standing on one leg with closed eyes for NA significantly decreased after icing treatment (p<0.05) . [Conclusion] It was shown that icing treatment of a sprained ankle leads to a shorter muscle reaction time and an increase in the number of side-steps. Therefore, it was concluded that icing treatment of a sprained ankle might be able to improve incapacitated neuromuscular function and functional performance by acute trauma.

In this paper, an optical pressure-sensitive membrane based on plasmon resonance absorption has been designed, fabricated, and demonstrated. The membrane utilizes plasmon resonance on a gold island film embedded in a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) layers, and the shift of the resonant wavelength was used as an indicator of pressure-induced strain of the membrane. The membrane with total thickness of 100 µm were prepared with spin-coating of PDMS and vacuum evaporation of gold island film with the nominal thickness of 10 nm. Pressure sensitivity of the fabricated membrane was demonstrated from the measurement of absorbance spectra and the maximum sensitivity of 0.35 nm/kPa was achieved by applying pressure up to 35 kPa. Plasmon resonance mode attributing to the pressure sensitivity has been analyzed through comparison between electromagnetic simulation and membrane stretching test. From the stretching test, red shifts of the resonant wavelength were obtained for both parallel and perpendicular polarizations to the tensile direction with the sensitivities of 0.372 and 0.134 nm/%, respectively. From the electromagnetic simulation, these red shifts can be attributed to both gap-mode and deformation-mode resonances of the gold island film.

Capacitive wireless power transfer is performed using large electrodes or using a medium having high relative permittivity such as water. The transfer efficiency demonstrates a pronounced change with frequency. A lumped-constant equivalent circuit with parasitic elements represents the change. However, a relationship between conditions for generating minimum/maximum values of the transfer efficiency and structural parameters of the electrodes in the coupler has not clarified. In this study, an equivalent circuit is proposed using a distributed-constant circuit. We converted the lumped-constant circuit into two open-ended directional couplers. From the result, we derived the conditions for generating the minimum and maximum values of the voltage input/output ratio. The efficiencies calculated by the distributed-constant circuit and electromagnetic simulation were in good agreement.

本研究では政治家調査データを分析し,2010年参院選時におけるエリートレベルの政策的対立軸を示す。探索的因子分析の結果,「安保・社会政策における保守―リベラル度」「五五年型政治経済体制に対する賛否」「新自由主義的経済に対する賛否」「民主党目玉政策に対する賛否」と解釈しうる,4次元の統計的に有意味な軸が抽出される。これらの争点軸は,五五年体制期以来の旧来的政治対立構造に加え,90年代以降の経済財政危機,2009年の政権交代の実現等により累積的に形成されてきたものと考えられる。本研究では以上の結果から先行分析に対する再検討を行う。また,4次元軸上における主要政党の政策位置や散らばりの程度を示し,昨今の政党間・政党内競争のあり方に関する含意を得る。

●Summary・星状神経節ブロックの合併症である頸部・縦隔血腫の発生はきわめてまれであるが,対応を間違えば最悪の場合は窒息死という結果に至る可能性がある。その確固たる予防法がない現状では,十分なインフォームドコンセントを行った後に,常に本合併症の対応を準備した状況で星状神経節ブロックを施行すべきである。・現在,一部であるが医療鑑定にカンファレンス方式(複数の専門家による討論)を採用し,より医療の現状に沿った判決を下そうとの試みを司法が始めている。・本件では,日本外傷学会外傷初期診療ガイドラインと日本ペインクリニック学会治療指針が証拠として採用されている。今後も医療訴訟においてはガイドライン・指針の存在が重要視されるかもしれない。

本稿は,公的な表彰・認定の取得を第三者機関による雇用主ブランディングと位置づけて,表彰・認定の取得数が採用時の人材確保と従業員の定着に与える効果を検討した.中堅・中小企業を対象とした質問票調査データを用いて統計的に分析した結果,表彰・認定の取得数が採用者の質的確保と従業員の離職率低下に貢献することが示された.大企業に比べて人材確保に劣る中小企業は第三者機関の雇用主ブランディングを活用することが有効になる.
