南インド・ケーララにおけるカースト制は,ナンブーディリ・ブラーフマンを中心=頂点とする<儀礼的位階>イデオロギーが著しく貫徹され,彼らが王権を超える地位を獲得していたことによって特徴付けられる。そのことの意味は,一番に,この地域が古代の統一王権を喪失して以来近代にいたるまで慢性的な政治的分裂状況にあり,そこにおける汎ケーララ的な次元での社会的統合の宗教的な要としての役割がこのブラーフマンに対して要請されてきたという歴史的な経緯に求められる。また,ナンプーディリは他に例をみない大土地保有者であり,そしてある場合には地方小王権に対抗し得るような強大な武力をさえ抱え込んでいたのであって,そうした彼らの世俗的な側面は一方で自らの汎ケーララ性を裏切りながら,しかし全体からすれば彼らの宗教的権威を王権から自立させて維持するのに大きな意義をもったのである。

The most important role of a hydraulic fluid is transmission of power among various roles. A bulk modulus of the fluid is crucial for hydraulic systems, particularly for high-pressure hydraulics. In theory, compression energy losses are in diverse proportional to the effective bulk modulus of the fluid, and response speed and stability depend directly on the square root of it. Conventional mineral oils have pretty low bulk modulus, compared to water-based hydraulic fluid. On the other hand, the water-based fluids are disadvantageous in lubricity and evaporation. Under the circumstances, we've searched for available oily high bulk modulus fluid, and found organic compounds with water-level bulk modulus.

偏微分方程式の基礎理論の研究においては,ジェブレイ級の解の接続問題において,接続可能性を方程式の特性帯の重複度とジェブレイ指数に関連付けた新しい結果を得た.解の漸近挙動・スペクトルの研究では,定数係数線型偏微分方程式が劣指数的増大度の解を持つための条件を追求し,リウビユの定理の拡張を得た.また,枯草菌のコロニーパターン形成過程の数理モデルを提出し,計算機によるシミュレーションにより2次元パターンを再現し,それが相転移的メカニズムで起こることを明らかにした.さまざまな逆問題の研究では,双曲型方程式に対する逆問題の一意性を係数の正則性を弱めた形で導き,逆問題のリプシッツ安定性を最も望ましい形で示した.また,密度一定の2次元図形について,2方向からの投影データによる再構成問題の一意性が成り立つ場合に,その離散化版の実用的な再構成アルゴリズムを与え,安定なことを示した.一意性が成り立たない場合に適当な重み函数を見出してそれを最大にする解を計算機により探索し,非常に面白いパターンが得られることを発見した.偏微分方程式の数値解析的研究では,中厚平板のモデルであるライスナー-ミンドラン平板に対して新しい安定化混合型4辺形有限要素を開発し,ロッキングを起こさずに薄板モデルに漸近することを検証した.また,乱流のシェルモデルにおいて,相似則を満たすカオス解を追跡しリヤプノフスペクトルを得,それが波数空間において特徴的な波数の周辺にのみ大きな値を持つことを見出した.このアトラクタ次元が大きな極限での漸近表式を導き,数値計算との良い一致を検証した.更にスケール変換に対して不変な積分作用素に適合する双直交ウェーブレットを構成し,応用を与えた.また,修正8節点セレンディピテイ要素が3次の補間誤差を持つことを示し,具体的な問題に対する有効性を確認した.

本研究は新潟市中央区に居住する55 歳から59 歳の男女を対象としたアンケート調査データに基づき、これから高齢者となる世代をいかにして「元気高齢者」にしていくのか、その課題を検討したものである。調査結果から以下のようなことが明らかにされた。65 歳以降の生活で、「収入」「自分の健康や病気」「家族の健康や病気」に不安を持っている。現在の生きがいは「友人との交流」「家族との団らん」「就労」が中心で、65 歳以降は「友人との交流」「家族との団らん」「趣味のサークル活動」を想定している。地域生活に関しては、近隣と「あいさつを交わす程度」であり、半数近くが地域活動に参加したことがない。65 歳を迎えたその日から「高齢者」に、そして地域に貢献する「元気高齢者」となることは不可能である。しかし準備段階世代のデータを見る限り、現時点における地域社会との関係性は強いものではない。「元気」、更には地域社会の在り方そのものに関する議論も含めた検討が必要である。

The aim of this paper is to analyze President George H. W. Bush's efforts to solve the dispute over SNF (Short-range Nuclear Forces) modernization within the Western alliance early in 1989. Recently, many works on the end of the Cold War have been published, based on newly declassified documents. These studies, focusing on thespecific year "1989", aim to explain the international political process of German unification. Yet, many Cold War scholars don't pay enough attention to the details and impact of the SNF issue. To appreciate the process of the Cold War's demise, I think we have to revisit the SNF issue within NATO that occurred in early 1989, and which had a strong influence on the 41st President's administration. In this paper, I will investigate the political process of the SNF modernization dispute from the perspective of U.S. foreign policy, using some primary sources located at George Bush Presidential Library and Museum ( Collage Station, Texas). This paper will show that the administration struggled to relieve the strained situation over SNF modernization within the Western alliance and held a NATO summit successfully in May 1989.

朝鮮戦争を跳躍台として日本経済は一気に停滞を回復する。企業は、朝鮮特需による一定の高収益を足場にし、さらに政府の投資促進・資本蓄積政策によって積極的な"合理化投資"を行いつつ、多様な手段による資本の蓄積を促進していく。それに大きく貢献した会計制度が、資産再評価と税制上の優遇措置であり、さらに実務規範として機能した「企業会計原則」である。資産再評価の効果は、減価償却費の増大、利益の過少計上からの税額、配当、賃金の抑制におる内部資本蓄積の強化であった。税制上の優遇措置は、特別償却・割増償却の容認、各種の準備金・引当金の設定を認める措置であり、資本蓄積と利益の内部留保にとって大きな効果があった。企業会計原則は、「経理自由の原則」に基づき企業経営の健全化を根拠として利益の政策的配慮を容認した。また、近代会計理論に立脚して資産再評価や税制上の過大償却、広範な引当金・準備金経理を合理化し、投資家保護を根拠とする企業主体理論の下、多様な資本概念が採用された。これらによって、資本蓄積促進機能が果たされていったのである。

The traditional Japanese wedding banquet called "honzen" was codified in the Muromachi period (1336-1573), and spread to the rural areas in the Edo period. The typical wedding banquet began with a sake ceremony, before the honzen meal (typically rice, soup, and some side dishes presented on zen, individual tray-like tables) was served, this being followed by the shuen (drinking party). This original style seemed to change in the Meiji period (1868 onwards). We have clarified the time of this change and its impact on the style of the wedding banquet. Wedding menus preserved by several mainline rural families, like the Huruhashi, Chiaki and Omae, were used as the investigation materials. In total, 40 menus were reviewed for the period from 1729 to 1917. There were two distinct wedding banquet styles, the original comprising sake, honzen and shuen in that order. All menus created in the Edo period, bar one, follow this style. The other style became common in the Meiji period, especially after 1900, its particular characteristic being that shuen preceded honzen. Shuen thus became more central to the wedding banquet program, and honzen was simplified with fewer dishes and smaller scale.

光ISDN等の光ネットワーク構築のためには光分岐などによる損失の補償ができることと共に簡単な構造で大量生産が容易な光増幅器の開発が要求される。これには図1に示す様な面型光増幅器が適している。今回、極めて簡単な構造でファイバ集積化が可能な光励起MQW面型光増幅器の設計と作製を行った。その結果、我々の知る限り光励起面型光増幅器としては初めて増幅特性が得られたので報告する。
