2013年11月から12月に熊本都心部においてスマホ・アプリ型回遊調査を実施し,1083人の参加者を得た.データに含まれる膨大なGPSの軌跡情報を効率的に処理する方法が求められる.本研究は,カーネル密度図を利用して,簡易に回遊行動圏を推定する方法を提案する.GPS軌跡の95%のカーネル密度図を行動圏域と定義しているが,それは測位誤差に頑健となることも確認した.最後に,提案した行動圏の面積と回遊時間を比較し,評価指標としての違いや,政策含意を議論した.

本邦におけるHTLV-1感染者は108万人と推計されており,HTLV-1は成人T細胞性白血病(ATL)やHTLV-1関連脊髄症(HAM/TSP)といった重篤な疾患の原因として知られている.日本赤十字社血液センターでの抗HTLV-1抗体の確認検査としては,2012年9月よりウエスタンブロット(WB)法が採用され,検査結果の通知を希望される献血者への通知に際しての判定基準となっている.しかしながら,WB法では判定保留例が多く確定に至らない事例が蓄積されている.今回,我々はWB法における判定保留事例を対象として,複数の方法による抗体検出ならびにHTLV-1プロウイルス(PV)検出を試み,性状解析を行った.その結果,WB法判定保留事例239例中89例(37.2%)でHTLV-1 PVが検出されたが,そのうち4例は化学発光酵素免疫測定(CLEIA)法で,また2例は化学発光免疫測定(CLIA)法で陰性を示した.また,PV陰性150例中19例(12.7%)では複数の抗体検出系で特異抗体が認められたことから,末梢血中のPVが検出限界以下を示すキャリアの存在が示唆され,精確なキャリア確定判定のための抗原同定と検査系確立を要すると考える.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of refractive error on canine visual evoked potentials with pattern stimulation (P-VEP). Six normal beagle dogs were used. The refractive power of the recorded eyes was measured by skiascopy. The refractive power was corrected to −4 diopters (D) to +2 D using contact lens. P-VEP was recorded at each refractive power. The stimulus pattern size and distance were 50.3 arc-min and 50 cm. The P100 appeared at almost 100 msec at −2 D (at which the stimulus monitor was in focus). There was significant prolongation of the P100 implicit time at −4, −3, 0 and +1 D compared with −2 D, respectively. We concluded that the refractive power of the eye affected the P100 implicit time in canine P-VEP recording.

The African rift valley, one of the most outstanding topographic and geologic features of the earth's crust, is also accompanied with many peculiar geophysical phenomena, that is, anomalies of gravity, heat flow, and geomagnetism, which suggest the connection to the earth's interior. Based upon many studies hithertio made, the hypothesis of mantle convection can most adequately elucidate the peculiarities of the rift valley.As it is well known, unit cell of the convective current causes a horizontal tensional stress at the bottom of the crust situated on the lateral flow, and a compressional stress at that on the downward flow. Therefore, if it is permissible to consider that the rift valley has been torn away by the lateral tension attributed to the mantle convection, the genetical relationship to the compressional area should be clarified.Judging from the geohistorical studies, the African rift valley commenced with the gentle up-doming movement in the Mesozoic era. It followed the rifting with volcanic actions at the Tertiary period, which feebly continued up to the recent. Namely, it coincides with the Alpine orogenic cycle in age. The problem is thus focused on the point that although the Alpine orogenic belt, which is undoubted compressional zone at that time, is oriented in E-W direction from the Mediterranean coast to the Himalayan undulation, the tensional zone of the African rift valley has N-S trend on the whole.Judged by the geotectonic studies, the crustal framework of the Africa is composed of three continental cores implying the oldest Precambrian rock in the world, such as west Africa, Congo, anb Kalahari cratons, which are joined with the latest Precambrian—earliest Palaeozoic Mozambique belt. All of them consist of metamorphic rocks, however, the rocks of continental cores may be harder and stiffer than those of the Mozambique belt. Furthermore, the extention of the belt is trending nearly N-S direction in East Africa, and the interior structure of the belt also takes the same direction in general.It is of the present writer's opinion that these factors, tectonic elongation, interior structure, and less hardness of rocks of the Mozambique belt controlled the disharmonic trend and location of the African rift valley against the Alpine orogenic belt.

本稿では、色付き傍線を用いたWeb文章を対象リソースとするイロノミーと名付けたフォークソノミーシステムを提案する。イロノミーは、3種類の色線を用いて文章の一部分をマーキングする一種のアノテーション入力機能とそのマーキングを色別に検索可能な検索機能、及び、社会的フィルタリングによる推薦機能を有する。また、JSAI2005のイベント空間支援の一環として運用した、発表概要を分類対象としたプロトタイプの説明と運用結果を述べる。

[Purpose] This study examined Nordic walking as an exercise intervention for the elderly with depression. [Subjects] Twenty-four patients who were diagnosed with depression were randomly selected and divided into two groups, an experimental group which performed Nordic walking, and a control group, which performed normal walking. [Methods] Both groups practiced their respective walking exercise for 50 minutes per day, three times a week for eight weeks. To compare the effects of the intervention, psychological factors using the Beck depression inventory and sleep quality was assessed using the Korean version Pittsburgh sleep quality index. Skeletal muscle mass, fat free mass, body mass index, body fat percentage, and basal metabolism were estimated three times by a body composition analyzer, before the intervention, four weeks after the intervention, and eight weeks after the intervention. [Results] There was a significant difference in depression with a main effect of time in both groups. There was also a significant difference in sleep in over time and interaction. The differences over time between the two groups were significant for depression, sleep, and skeletal muscle mass. [Conclusion] The results suggests that Nordic walking has a positive effect on depression and sleeping disorders of the elderly, suggesting that Nordic walking based exercise programs should be developed for the elderly who suffer from depression or a sleeping disorder.

This paper analyses German foreign and security policy under the Merkel government, especially Germany's role and involvement in European security architectures. By comparing NATO out-of-area deployment of Bundeswehr, German forces, in EU and NATO operations, the study discusses challenges and dilemmas that Germany has faced in cooperating with these organizations. As Europe's own security policies such as Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and then European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) have developed, Germany has been actively involved in operations in the framework of these policies. Germany has also participated in emerging EU operations; the Merkel government eventually led Operation EUFOR RD Congo in 2006. As European operations have evolved in the areas of peacekeeping and crisis management so far, Germany has not encountered dilemmas in dispatching armed forces overseas. It rather welcomed EU operations that have civilian character as German Basic Law sets a certain conditions in deploying its forces overseas. Because of this limitation, Germany is referred as ‘civilian power’ that has strategic culture of ‘anti-militarism’. Thus, Germany will actively support further evolution of the European security architecture with such a civilian character. On the contrary, Germany under the Merkel government has encountered dilemmas in dispatching forces to NATO operations. In particular, German behaviours in International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) in Afghanistan have increasingly attracted criticism from other NATO member states after a failure in Operation Medusa in 2006. Since then, Germany has been under pressure of sending units to the southern area of Afghanistan that is considered to be more dangerous and of engaging in combat operations. So far, German government has expanded its military commitments in Afghanistan in a series of small steps. For example, Berlin has decided to dispatch Tornado jets to the south. Pressure for increasing presence of the German forces in the south has not halt, although Germany has avoided combat operations because of the Basic Law. While increased presence would highlight continued German engagement and thus mitigate criticism from NATO allies, it would prove unpopular among Germans who have registered significant public opposition to the Afghan campaign. Germany under the Merkel government confronts with the dilemmas between maintaining solidarity and credibility with the allies and managing domestic public opinion.

We investigated differences in flower longevity, ethylene production, and ethylene sensitivity among pot carnation cultivars by quantitative PCR analysis. The flower life of ‘Polaris’ was significantly longer than that of ‘Ariel’ (control cultivar), ‘Orange Duo’, and ‘Lemon Soft’. The flowers of ‘Polaris’ produced little ethylene, and had low expression of the ethylene biosynthesis genes DcACS1 and DcACO1. The transcript levels of senescence-related (SR) genes DcCP1, DcbGal, and DcGST1 increased in petals of ‘Ariel’, ‘Orange Duo’, and ‘Lemon Soft’ at senescence, but were very low in ‘Polaris’. These results suggest that the low ethylene production in ‘Polaris’ is caused by low expression of DcACS1 and DcACO1, as in long-life flowers of the cut carnation cultivars ‘Miracle Rouge’ and ‘Miracle Symphony’. The ethylene sensitivity of ‘Orange Duo’ and ‘Lemon Soft’ was lower than that of both ‘Ariel’ and ‘Polaris’. Petals of ‘Orange Duo’ and ‘Lemon Soft’ wilted, and inrolled more slowly than those of ‘Ariel’ and ‘Polaris’, despite the upregulation of ethylene biosynthesis genes (DcACS1 and DcACO1), DcCP1, DcbGal, DcGST1, and DcEIL3 in petals of all cultivars upon application of exogenous ethylene. These results imply that only the components related to the inrolling of petals are altered in these ethylene-insensitive cultivars.

神経学的に異常のなかった男192名, 女196名の脳血流量と脳血管抵抗をXe-133吸入法に依り測定し, 加齢との関係を調べた. 脳血流量は2コンパートメントモデルに於ける速い成分 (F1) とイニシャルスロープインデックス (ISI) で表わした. F1, ISI共に男では40歳台, 女では60歳台から有意に低下が始まった. 女では年齢に比例してF1, ISIの低下が高齢に到るまで続いたのに対し, 男では50歳台までは年齢に比例して低下したが, 60歳台以降プラトーになり, F1で40ml/100g脳組織/分, ISIで35付近に閾値の存在が示唆された. 脳血管抵抗は男女共50歳台から有意に増加し始め, 高齢に到るまで一貫して年齢に比例して増加した.

The objective of this study is to objectively evaluate the subjective complexity by change in oxygenated hemoglobin and hemodynamics for the developing the relief method of stress based on improving preference by subjective complexity. The change in oxygenated hemoglobin concentration (ΔoxyHb) and hemodynamic parameters as physiological indices and psychological intensity as psychological indices were measured when performing the four auditory stimuli repeatedly. As a result, comfort and subjective complexity indicated the inverted “U” shape function. The tendency of the correlation between ΔoxyHb and subjective complexity was categorized into three main types. Significant differences of stress coping were found by hemodynamics. It was clarified that physiological responses to subjective complexity were assessable objectively.

The American Heart Association Scientific Sessions were held in Orlando on November 7–15, 2015. The meeting attracted more than 18,000 participants, including physicians, research scientists, students, and paramedical personnel, from more than 100 countries. Sessions over the 5 days included a comprehensive and unparalleled education delivered via more than 5,000 presentations, with 1,000 invited faculty members and 4,000 abstract presentations from the world leaders in cardiovascular disease. It also displayed the newest cardiovascular technology and resources by more than 200 exhibitors. There were 19 trials scheduled in 6 late-breaking clinical trial sessions. The Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT) aimed to determine the most appropriate targets for the systolic blood pressure among persons without diabetes. A total of 9,361 persons with systolic blood pressure of ≥130 mmHg and an increased cardiovascular risk, but without diabetes, were randomly assigned to a target systolic blood pressure of <120 mmHg (intensive treatment) or a target of <140 mmHg (standard treatment). A significantly lower rate of the primary composite outcome and all-cause mortality in the intensive-treatment group than in the standard-treatment group was observed. Summaries and overviews of the late-breaking trials, clinical science special report sessions, and sessions to which members of the Japanese Circulation Society contributed are presented.

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of Kinesio Taping (KT) on the swallowing function of stroke patients. [Subjects and Methods] Twenty-two stroke patients were randomly assigned to two groups; an experimental group which received KT, and a control group which received no taping intervention. Two-dimensional kinematic analysis was used to determine the displacement of the hyoid bone and the angular variation of the epiglottis using human anatomy-based coordinates. The functional dysphagia scale (FDS) was determined by a videofluoroscopic study (VFSS). [Results] The experimental group presented statistically significant improvements in kinematic changes of the vertical excursion of the hyoid bone and epiglottal rotation. [Conclusion] Clinical use of KT for dysphagia patients should be considered as a treatment approach. In future research, more subjects and more diverse patterns should be studied to accumulate further evidence.

過酸化水素 (H2O2), 次亜塩素酸 (NaClO), 亜塩素酸 (NaClO2) および過酢酸 (CH3COOOH) を用いて, 酸化剤種, 酸化pH, 添加量の違いによるゼラチン中のメチオニンおよびアルデヒドの変化について検討した. 合わせてメチオニン, アルデヒドの変化に伴う物理抑制度変化について調べた, ゼラチンの酸化によりメチオニン, アルデヒド含量は変化し, それらの変化は酸化剤種, 酸化剤添加量および処理pHにより異なることがわかつた. アルデヒドは弱い酸化にて減少し, 強い酸化にて増加する傾向にあった.アルデヒドの上昇は酸化による遊離還元糖の発生が要因の一つであると考えた. 酸化によるメチオニンの低減に伴い, 物理抑制度の上昇が認められた. この上昇の要因の一つとしてメチオニンの乳剤pAgへの影響を考えた.

[Purpose] The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of dynamic sitting exercises during prolonged sitting on the lower back mobility of sedentary young adults. [Subjects and Methods] Seventy-one subjects aged between 18–25 years participated in this study. Following a randomized crossover study design, subjects were randomly assigned to two groups: sitting only and dynamic sitting exercise. The dynamic sitting exercise was a combination of lower back hyperextension and abdominal drawing-in movements which were repeated 6 times in a 1-minute period and performed every 20 minutes during a 2-hour sitting session. Lumbar range of movement was measured with the modified-modified Schober test, and the pain intensity was evaluated using the visual analog scale. [Results] After the experiment, the lumbar range of movement was significantly impaired in the sitting only group; however, it was significantly improved in the dynamic sitting exercise group. There were significant differences in lumbar range of movement of both flexion and extension between the groups. No significant difference in pain intensity between the groups was found. [Conclusion] These results suggest that dynamic sitting exercises during prolonged sitting can prevent decreases in lumbar range of movement in both back flexion and extension following a 2-hour sitting period.

The western Pacific region, where the Eurasia, Australia, and Pacific plates currently interact, has been recognized as an important site for constraining the origins and emplacement of ophiolites (particularly for island-arc or supra-subduction zone types), because the spatial distribution of oceanic micro-plates and numerous ophiolitic rocks along their convergent margins infers possible genetic linkages among them. Mafic-ultramafic rocks distributed in the Timor-Tanimbar island chain, eastern Indonesia may be a good example of the on-going emplacement of the marginal basin lithosphere on the continental margin in the arc-continent collision zone, and are recognized as a possible modern analogue for Mesozoic Tethyan-type ophiolites (e.g. Troodos and Oman) in the Alpine-Himalayan orogenic system. Geological occurrence suggests that the buoyant subduction of the Australian continent uplifted fragments of newly formed mantle-crust section, which extends to neighboring pre-emplaced forearc marginal basins. However, from petrological and geochemical points of view, young pillowed basalt, dolerite, and gabbroic cumulate commonly possess island-arc signatures, whereas structurally underlying peridotites are mostly fertile (lherzolitic) in composition. This suggests that the crustal section is not linked to the underlying mantle by a genetic melt-and-residua relationship, as inferred from the lack of complete succession and the presence of abundant crosscutting structures. This inconsistency leads to the emergence of two contrasting models accounting for the unusual occurrence of a fertile mantle in the forearc setting of the Timor-Tanimbar region: (1) thrust-stacked fragments of the subcontinental mantle originally exhumed in the rifting stage of Australia; (2) depth-related heterogeneities in the lithospheric part of the mantle wedge. We note that the current debates on the origins of fertile lherzolites found throughout the Tethyan sutures and western Pacific regions can be settled through a better understanding of Timor-Tanimbar peridotite masses by age-dating studies employing several radiogenic isotope systematics.

The aims of this study were to examine the effects of different temperatures on seed germination and initial long-day (LD) or short-day (SD) duration on growth, floral initiation, and development of Hosta yingeri S.B.Jones. The germination percentage of H. yingeri seeds was > 90% at 5°C and between 15°C–30°C. The lowest time to the first germination (TFG) and the mean germination time (MGT) were observed at around 30°C. The optimum temperature for germination can be around 30°C considering the final germination percentage, TFG, and MGT together. Plant height, number of leaves, and leaf length increased as the initial SD duration decreased. The percentages of plant bearing buds were 50%, 50%, 20%, 10%, and 0% when the initial SD treatments were 0, 3, 6, 9, and 12 weeks with 29, 26, 23, 20, and 17 weeks of LDs, respectively. No plants flowered when they were exposed to the initial LD conditions. Flower spike length, number of visible buds, and number of open flowers increased as the duration of the initial SD decreased. Four-week-old H. yingeri required ≥ 26 weeks of LD duration to achieve >50% flowering.

The feeding ecology of marine pelagic copepods has been intensively studied since the 1910's. Recently, many new techniques, such as high-speed cinematography, deep-sea ROV, and SCUBA, have been introduced for direct observatios of their feeding behavior. These have clearly revealed that particle-feeders employ suspension feeding but not filter-feeding and that appendicularian houses are important food items for some pelagic calanoid, harpacticoid, and poecilostomatoid copepods. Particle-feeders commonly utilize microzooplankton such as ciliates and copepod nauplii and fecal pellets. Detritivory, strict selective predation, and gorging have been found exclusively in oceanic copepods. Five calanoid families Diaixidae, Parkiidae, Phaennidae, Scolecitrichidae, and Tharybidae with special sensory setae on the mouthparts and the poecilostomatoid Oncaea are considered to be adapted for feeding on detrital matter such as appendicularian houses. Some heterorhabdids probably inject a venom or anesthetic into prey animals to capture them. In the laboratory, predation on fish eggs and larvae by copepods, rejection of some dinoflagellates by calanoids, developmental inhibition of copepod eggs by feeding on some diatoms, and copepods' reactions to fecal pellets were demonstrated. Pelagic copepods constitute an assemblage of evolutionarily different groups. Among the 10 orders, calanoids supposedly first colonized the marine pelagic realm, and, at present, are most successfully adapted of any order to this environment by a wide variety of feeding mechanisms. They have developed a wide variety of feeding mechanisms. On the other hand, poecilostomatoids have secondarily become adapted to pelagic environments and are loosely associated with fish larvae and pelagic invertebrates, such as salps and appendicularians, for feeding. The calanoid family Heterorhabdidae consists of 2 particle-feeding, 3 carnivorous, and 2 intermediate genera. A phylogenetic analysis showed that the carnivores could have originated from the particle-feeders through the intermediate conditions, and that the mouthpart elements of the carnivores could be derived from those of the particle-feeders with modifications of the original elements and no addition of novel structures. Recent studies demonstrate that some copepods such as scolecitrichids and Oncaea can efficiently feed on nanoplankton trapped in appendicularian houses, and also suggest that suspension-feeders may transport diatom resting spores into the sea-bottom in the epipelagic zone and metals in the deep-sea bottoms through their feeding behavior, and that epipelagic carnivores may compete with fish larvae for copepod nauplii and dinoflagellates.

2000 年 6 月~2001 年 3 月の間に採集された有明海産スズキの鼻腔,口腔,鰓腔および鰓から 6 種の寄生性カイアシ類が発見され,Caligus tanago, Naricolax atypicus, Nothobomolochus lateolabracis の 3 種が優占した。大陸遺存種と考えられるものは出現しなかった。これらの寄生率,寄生数は宿主の繁殖期である 1~3 月に高くなる傾向があった。N. atypicus は鼻腔に寄生し,寄生率は夏季にも高く,宿主サイズと正の相関を示し た。

多摩川の源流を含む上流域のカイアシ類相を調べた。採集されたカイアシ類はケンミジンコ7種,ソコミジンコ10種であった。ケンミジンコMacrocyclops monticolaが東京から初めて記録された。Eucyclops serrulatusが標高450―1,460mの急峻な山合いの水体から多数採集された。Eucyclops speratusは標高290mの川から採集された。ソコミジンコのCanthocamptus prominulusは雌の尾叉の正常型,phyllophora型,雄のそれと同形のものの3型,雄の正常型と内側面に微棘群のあるものの2型のいずれもが出現し,それぞれの型の出現割合は支流によって顕著に異なっていた。
