高等植物のシキミ酸生成に関して, 特に暗条件下の葉での生成を中心にしらべた.イチョウの成葉のシキミ酸含有量は野外のもので大きな日変化を示し, 夜間いちじるしく増加する. 葉を暗条件下においた場合も同様にその初期にいちじるしく減少し, その後で元の含有量に復し, さらに相当長時間, 比較的高い含有量が保持される. 微生物で明らかにされたと同様に緑葉においてもエノールピルビン酸リン酸やエリスロース-4-リン酸がシキミ酸生成の素材になっているならば, 暗くした葉でみられた一度低下した後の含有量の回復や, その後の長時間にわたるその保持は, すでに貯えられた糖類が解糖やペントースリン酸回路などを経て記の素材に変換し, これらからシキミ酸が生成されることを推測させる. そこでイチョウとユーカリの葉に種々の呼吸阻害剤を吸収させ, 暗所でシキミ酸生成におよぼす影響をみた. その結果2,4-ジニトロフェノールの阻害は最小で, NaN3, フロリジン, モノヨード酢酸,NaFではその生成がかなり抑制された.これらの結果から解糖が少なくとも暗所でのシキミ酸の生成にあずかっていると推定できる.

The red pigments, anthocyanins and betacyanins have never been demonstrated to occur together in the same plant. Although anthocyanins are widely distributed as flower and fruit pigments in higher plants, betacyanins have replaced anthocyanins in the Caryophyllales. Anthocyanins have not been reported to occur in these betacyanin-producing plants, and the evolutionary gain and loss of the two pigments remain a mystery, as do the molecular bases underlying their mutual exclusion. The accumulation of flavonols in the Caryophyllales suggests that the step (s) of anthocyanin biosynthesis from dihydroflavonols to anthocyanins could be blocked in the Caryophyllales. Some insights can be gained from DFR and ANS, which are involved in the biosynthetic pathway from dihydroflavonols to anthocyanins. The cDNAs encoding DFR and ANS were isolated from Spinacia oleracea and Phytolacca americana, plants that belong to the Caryophyllales. The experiments using recombinant DFR and ANS expressed in Escherichia coli revealed that the Caryophyllales plants posses functional DFR and ANS. The expression profiles showed that DFR and ANS were not expressed in most tissues and organs expect seed in S. oleracea. These result indicated that the suppression or limited expression of the DFR and ANS may cause the luck of anthocyanin in the Caryophyllales.

本稿は、里親制度不振をめぐる従来の議論への再考を目的とし、社会福祉の政策展開に着目して、政策主体による里親制度の位置づけとその意図を検討した。1960年代には、政策主体は里親制度の意義を強調するも、その運用方法を図りかね、里親施策はほとんど進展しなかった。一方で、政策主体は養護施設の規模縮小など見直しに対する反対運動を受けるなか、1960年代末には、里親制度重視の方向性を弱めていった。また、1973年に東京都で「養育家庭制度」が開始され、要養護児童サービスにおいてコミュニティケアの具現化が提起されたが、政策主体は里親施策に反映させることはなかった。1974年以降には、社会情勢に即応した里親制度の効果的な運用として短期里親を新設したが、里親委託を全国里親会によって展開させ、公的責任を希薄にしていった。短期里親の運用は養護問題に対する政策主体の表向きの対応を示したに過ぎなかった。1983年以降、社会福祉政策に民間活力やボランティア活動が導入され、社会福祉が拡大されると、里親制度をボランティア活動と明言したのである。また、里親委託促進を全国里親会の役割に位置づけ、公的責任を縮小させている。すなわち、1960年代から1980年代の政策主体による里親制度の位置づけは、養護問題や運動に基づくものとはいいがたく、大筋では社会福祉の政策展開に連動したものであった。

This paper aims to study of "Jyoui" on the last days of the Tokugawa Shogunate, based on British records. The shogunate signed the trade agreements with five countries in 1858 (Ansei Commercial Treaties). Since then, Japanese people came to demand to exclude foreigners ("Jyoui"). In 1861, the Tozenji that was a temporary English legation was attacked by Japanese warriors. As a result, the shogunate could not help ordering excluding foreigners from feudal lords. It was the only Choshu clan that obeyed it and attacked foreign ships in 1863. In despite of the fact, the Choshu clan sent five people to England in order to study Western technology at the same year. In this paper, an analysis from point of view of Britain has been made on British records with the aim of clarifying "Jyoui".

我々は,ペタスケールシステム向けのプロセッサアーキテクチャの検討を行っている.ペタスケール規模の科学技術計算アプリケーションを高速に実行するためには,大量の浮動小数点演算を高効率で処理できなければならない.これを実現するために,我々は,既存のスカラプロセッサに対して, SIMD 演算ユニットを拡張装備するアーキテクチャを提案する. HPL および PHASE の主要計算ルーチンを対象として,シミュレーションにより本アーキテクチャの性能評価を行い,その有効性について述べる.

敗戦直後、「批評の人間性」などに見られる中野重治の罵声には両義的な響きがこもっている。「五勺の酒」の校長が「精神のよろめき」と綴らざるを得なかった敗戦日本の有様を中野は嘆き、しかし嘆きのままには済ませずに我が身を駆り立てていった。返事の書かれずにしまった「五勺の酒」は校長の憐愍や悲憤の込められた往信のみのモノローグのようでありながら、自らを鞭打つ声として作家の内部でダイアローグを成立させている。

これまで本邦における慢性副鼻腔炎は好中球浸潤が主体で, 内視鏡鼻副鼻腔手術とマクロライド少量長期投与にてかなり治療成績が向上してきた. しかし2000年頃からそれらの治療に抵抗性を示し, 易再発性の難治性副鼻腔炎が増加してきた. この副鼻腔炎は, 成人発症で, 嗅覚障害を伴い, 両側に鼻茸があり, 篩骨洞優位の陰影があった. 末梢好酸球も多く, 気管支喘息やアスピリン不耐症の合併もあった. このような副鼻腔炎の粘膜には多数の好酸球浸潤が認められていたため, 好酸球性副鼻腔炎と命名された. 好酸球性副鼻腔炎は, 徐々に増加傾向を示してきたが, 好酸球性副鼻腔炎の概念, 診断基準はあまり明確に普及していかなかった. そこで全国規模の疫学調査と診断ガイドライン作成を目的に多施設共同大規模疫学研究 (Japanese Epidemiological Survey of Refractory Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinusitis Study: JESREC Study) を行った. その結果, 両側病変, 鼻茸あり, CT 所見, 血中好酸球比率からなる臨床スコアによる簡便な診断基準を作成した. さらに臨床スコア, アスピリン不耐症, NSAIDs アレルギー, 気管支喘息の合併症, CT 所見, 血中好酸球比率による重症度分類も決定した. 4つに分類した重症度分類は, 術後の鼻茸再発と有意に相関し, 最も易再発性かつ難治性の重症好酸球性副鼻腔炎はおよそ全国に2万人いることが判明した. 治療法については経口コルチコステロイド以外まだ確立されておらず, 早急なる対応が急務と考えている.

Prof. Kobayashi criticized the Duhem-Quine thesis from an original point of view in his recent book Philosophy of Sience. His point is that there is "a difference of degree concerning theoreticity" which means the vulnerability to a theoretical revision in the whole system of physical theory. But, in my view, scientists cannot uniquely determine which is the object of revision between main hypotheses and auxiliary hypotheses. While in the "normal science" period auxiliary hypotheses are revised by falsificational experiments, only in the "scientific revolution" period main hypotheses are falsified. Therefore the so-called crucial experiment is no other than an honorary title which is awarded by historical consideration in a later period.

Onboard REBCO (rare-earth barium copper oxide) HTS (high temperature superconducting) magnets for SC (superconducting) Maglev vehicles are being developed, that do not require refrigerants such as liquid helium. Their simplified refrigeration system results in reduced vehicle weight and makes it possible to reduce the gap between the SC magnets and guideway coils. HTS magnets are designed to operate with constant current leading by an excitation power source. By using the power source, magnetomotive force of SCMs (superconducting magnets) can be controlled.This paper describes effects of magnetomotive force control of HTS magnets on the SC Maglev vehicle system in terms of rating and efficiency of the Maglev LSM (linear synchronous motor). Using onboard REBCO HTS magnets with magnetomotive force control, the efficiency of the SC Maglev vehicle system can be increased with the same rating of the system.

The enones (II), which were obtained from dimethyl 4, 5-isopropylidenedioxy-2-oxopentylphosphonate (Ia) and various aldehydes, were easily converted to 2-alkenylfurans (III) by treatment with p-TsOH in MeOH. In a similar manner, the furfuryl phosphonate (IVa) and the 3-methylfurfuryl phosphonate (IVb) were obtained from Ia and its 3-methylated analogue (Ib), respectively.
