In Finland many wooden churches were built in the 17^<th> and 18^<th> centuries. They are all comer-timbered buildings. The buildings, which I am interested in, have been built in the block-pillar style. Professor N. E. Wickwerg wrote in his book that the block-pillar style is very valuable from the architectural and artistic point of view. According to Wickberg, block-pillar churches were built only in the Bothnian area, mainly on the west coast of Finland. The corner-timbered building style was suitable for a normal house, but it was not originally suitable for the church with a large interior space. The block-pillar style solved this problem with a highly developed technique. It was constructed by block-pillars connected to beams and also A-shaped roof trusses. With this construction technique, the block-pillar style made long walls and high wooden vaults possible. I think that this technique was epoch-making advancement in the history of the Finnish wooden churches.

The growth environment for University students has changed dramatically due to the widespread of developed IT usage and the relationship between human and surrounded objects, which significantly impacted their current lifestyle. In this study, Clarification of two clarified how university students are related to lifestyle and fashion sensibility behavior. Firstly, analysis of factors of lifestyle which extracted into two types. There are “Active factor” and “Emotional factor”. After Cluster analysis, it was classified into three: “Rich-Emotional type”, “Enjoy type” and “Stable type”. The Findings from the analysis of variance was that their “Behavior of Fashion Emotional Value” differs depending on their type of lifestyle. As a result, there was a degree of statistical significance among the three types of lifestyle and within the “fashion awareness” and “purchasing behavior”. This study could elucidate the “Behavior of Fashion Emotional Value” from the characteristics of fashion awareness and purchase behavior by its type.

近年,我が国では脳卒中患者が増加しており,その後遺症の一つに片麻痺症状による歩行障害が挙げられる.日常生活に支障のない歩行レベルであるかの判断指標の一つにバランス能力指標Berg Balance Scale (BBS)がある.ただし約20分の評価を専門家が行い,評価者の主観が影響する点が課題であった.本研究では,属人性を排した効率的なバランス能力評価実現のために,対象者の歩行計測のみで簡便かつ自動的にBBSを推定するシステムを開発した.まず1台のRGBDセンサを用いて対象者の歩行を撮影し,見守り者がいる場合は,対象者と介助者の領域を分離する.次に歩幅,つま先向き,立脚時間,歩行速度など計23種類の特徴量を抽出する.最後にLasso回帰モデルを用いてBBSを推定する.実験では94件の脳卒中患者の歩行動画と専門家が付与したBBSのデータセットを用いた.BBSの推定は,平均絶対誤差4.97 ± 4.31点で,従来手法より誤差が小さく,臨床的に許容可能な誤差範囲内であることを確認した.処理時間は見守り無しパタン(シーケンス長515 ± 504 frame)で47 ± 52 s,見守り有りパタン(764 ± 465 frame)で62 ± 32 sであった.従来の評価時間を短縮し,提案手法の有用性を示した.

Twenty-four granitoids from three magnetite-series granitic terranes and three ilmenite-series granitic terranes were analyzed for gold by the neutron activation method. The gold values of the magnetite-series granitoids range from 0.4 to 7.1 ppb and the average is 4.3 ppb, while those of the ilmenite-series granitoids vary from 0.4 to 4.8 ppb and the average is 2.5 ppb. The higher values of the magnetite-series granitoids than the ilmenite-series ones may be attributed to the presence of rock-forming magnetite in the former series. The gold values appear to increase with the in-creasing of silica contents within the range of 61-76%. Magnetite-series granitic terranes are considered to be more favarable basement than ilmenite-series ones for Neogene gold mineralization of the Green Tuff region.

In order to clarify the role of the amygdaloid nucleus in equilibrium function, the following experiments were carried out: nine electric stimuli, 0.1 msec, 200Hz pulse waves at 3 volts during a 30-second period were applied daily to a rabbit's amygdaloid nucleus (medial or lateral area).Optokinetic nystagmus and the EEG in response to optic stimulation were measured before and after the nine electric stimuli.In addition, the blood pressure was measured in rabbits with repeated electric stimulation of the medial or lateral area of the same amygdaloid nucleus. Stimulation was with 0.1 msec, 200Hz pulse waves at 30 volts for about 23 seconds.(1) Rabbits with repeated electric stimulation of the medial area of the amygdaloid nucleus tended to show increased optokinetic nystagmus and increased EEG activity in response to optic stimulation. Furthermore, their blood pressure increased when the medial area was stimulated.(2) Rabbits with repeated electric stimulation of the lateral area of the amygdaloid nucleus tended to show reduced optokinetic nystagmus and EEG activity and a decrease in blood pressure.The following conclusions were drawn:(1) The amygdaloid nucleus correlates with the brain stem, particularly the ascending activating system, in the maintenance of equilibrium.(2) The medial area of the amygdaloid nucleus actively participates in the maintenance of equilibrium function, promoting activity of the brain stem. The lateral area of the amygdaloid nucleus has an opposite function and seems to inhibit overexcitement of the brain stem, resulting in smooth maintenance of body equilibrium.

初年次教育における学生の学習経験の質向上に向けた授業改善の取り組みとして,Parrishの「ID美学第一原理」に示される学習者要因(4要因:意図・プレゼンス・開放性・信頼感)を枠組みとした「授業改善ヒント集;学習者要因編」を作成した。このヒント集の項目は,初年次教育に携わる教員への半構造化面接法により導き出されたものである。授業改善の方策として,意図20項目,プレゼンス35項目,開放性21項目,信頼感24項目が抽出できた。これらは,授業を通じて,学生の学習経験の質の向上に取り組もうとする教員の自己評価や授業改善の手掛かりとなるものである。

The fresh fruit yield of tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is determined by yield components and related traits. In a low-truss cultivation in Japan, there was no significant difference in light use efficiency between different planting densities and stages. Accordingly, dry matter production is described by a function of intercepted light: Total dry-matter production = light use efficiency × Intercepted light. Light interception is determined by leaf area index (LAI) and the light extinction coefficient in the plant canopy. The efficiency of dry matter production per unit of intercepted light, i.e., light use efficiency, is determined by not only the leaf photosynthetic rate but also light extinction coefficient. The higher yield of modern tomato cultivars in The Netherlands is due to the increase in total dry matter production of plants, not by an increase in dry matter partitioning to fruits. An increase in the photosynthetic rate and a decrease in the light extinction coefficient may result in an increase in light use efficiency among Dutch cultivars. The yield of greenhouse tomatoes in Japan has increased little since the 1980s. Recently, Japanese researchers have attempted to improve the yield using current Japanese cultivars. Elevation of CO2 and fogging in a greenhouse improved the fresh fruit yield and total dry matter production in Japanese cultivars. However, the fraction of dry matter distribution to fruit in ‘Momotaro York’ was significantly decreased. The fruit yield was also improved by grafting the Japanese scion ‘Momotaro York’ onto Dutch rootstock ‘Maxifort’ (S. lycopersicum × S. habrochaites). The increases in yield and total dry matter production were mainly determined by the increase in light use efficiency.

Tomato grafting is an important agricultural technique to overcome biotic and abiotic stresses and increase plant growth and productivity. Breeding and selection of resistant and vigorous rootstocks are necessary to achieve grafting goals. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate eight tomato interspecific hybrids between accession Solanum lycopersicum L. LA1221 ‘VFNT cherry’, as the female parent and each of wild accessions S. chmielewskii LA1028 (Chm-1028); S. galapagense LA0530 (Gal-530); S. habrochaites CGN 15391 (Habr-15391) and LA1777 (Habr-1777); S. pennellii AusTRCF 312075 (Pen-312075) and LA716 (Pen-716); and S. pimpinellifolum AusTRCF311810 (Pim-311810) and CGN18388 (Pim-18388), as male parents, as rootstocks under greenhouse conditions compared to the commercial rootstock ‘Emperador’, to select the most suitable rootstock. S. lycopersicum ‘Santa Cruz Piedade’ was selected as a scion and used as self-grafted and non-grafted controls. Plant growth and productivity measurements were estimated for the grafted and non-grafted plants. The response to the evaluated rootstocks was not consistent for many of the studied traits, denoting that the scion was differently influenced by the rootstocks. Grafts did not always outperform self-grafts. Grafting onto either Pen-312075, Habr-15391, or Pim-18388. in addition to self-grafting, increased the total and marketable yields compared to the non-grafted plants, with proportions that would enable increased profits and cover the extra cost of grafting. In addition, fruits from these grafts had acceptable quality traits. Therefore, the interspecific hybrids Pen-312075, Habr-15391, and Pim-18388 are considered suitable rootstocks to improve the scion ‘Santa Cruz Piedade’. Greater and continuing efforts are needed to evaluate several interspecific hybrids, as well as different high yielding scion cultivars, to select the most suitable rootstocks for different scion cultivars.
