Xanthine and hypoxanthine are intermediate metabolites of uric acid and a source of reactive oxidative species (ROS) by xanthine oxidoreductase (XOR), suggesting that facilitating their elimination is beneficial. Since they are reabsorbed in renal proximal tubules, we investigated their reabsorption mechanism by focusing on the renal uric acid transporters URAT1 and GLUT9, and examined the effect of clinically used URAT1 inhibitor on their renal clearance when their plasma concentration is increased by XOR inhibitor. Uptake study for [3H]xanthine and [3H]hypoxanthine was performed using URAT1- and GLUT9-expressing Xenopus oocytes. Transcellular transport study for [3H]xanthine was carried out using Madin–Darby canine kidney (MDCK)II cells co-expressing URAT1 and GLUT9. In in vivo pharmacokinetic study, renal clearance of xanthine was estimated based on plasma concentration and urinary recovery. Uptake by URAT1- and GLUT9-expressing oocytes demonstrated that xanthine is a substrate of URAT1 and GLUT9, while hypoxanthine is not. Transcellular transport of xanthine in MDCKII cells co-expressing URAT1 and GLUT9 was significantly higher than those in mock cells and cells expressing URAT1 or GLUT9 alone. Furthermore, dotinurad, a URAT1 inhibitor, increased renal clearance of xanthine in rats treated with topiroxostat to inhibit XOR. It was suggested that xanthine is reabsorbed in the same manner as uric acid through URAT1 and GLUT9, while hypoxanthine is not. Accordingly, it is expected that treatment with XOR and URAT1 inhibitors will effectively decrease purine pools in the body and prevent cell injury due to ROS generated during XOR-mediated reactions.

There are three types of offshore drilling rigs: Drillship, Semi-submersible, Jack-up rig.As the generation of rig progressed, the operating water depth had deepened and consequently the ability of drilling equipment, redundancy and on-board capacity, had been enhanced.The technological evolution of drilling rig made the hull and drilling equipment greater in size, which enabled deeper operation and that also led to considerable improvement in performance of major drilling equipment.Looking back the progress of element technology in the past, we'll look into the latest specifications as of now and predict the rig of the future.

近年、新水先法が施行され水先制度や水先人教育が大きく変わり、乗船経験の極端に乏しい若者にも三級水先人になる機会が与えられた。三級水先人は、本格的な業務に就くまでの過程で、水域や岸壁ごとに限定解除を受けることになっている。しかしながら、各水域や岸壁の着岸に対する難易度は水先人の経験による感覚に依存しているのが現状である。本研究では、ベテラン水先人を対象に階層分析法を用いることで各水域、岸壁の着岸難易度を定量的、総合的に評価することを提案する。

The <<fear of Islam>> is not a new subject in France : this country's geographic location, in permanent contact with the Arab Islamic world, always brought complex relations, both close and strained, with the Islamic world. A combination of different reasons has led to the present situation : ancient history (France is a catholic nation, particularly active during the Crusade), recent history (the Iranian revolution, increasing number of <<fundamentalist's terrorist acts>> in Algeria, the September 11 attacks...), and France's sociological situation itself (with an important Muslim community). However, since several years, a sort of mutation has been taking place in Islam's representation, while the number of anti-Muslim acts is on the rise. What does this mutation consist of? What is exactly the <<new anti-Muslim phenomenon>> in French society? To answer these questions, we analyze the new anti-Islam discourses and focus on its promoters, in order to grasp the crucial issues and the underlying ideas of this phenomenon in French socio-political context. First of all, this paper will outline some of the principal characteristics of Islamophobia in France, especially the relations between ultranationalist xenophobia and current Islamophobia. Then, new forms of critical discourses towards Islam are to be studied and their relations with new Islamophobia's logics. The objective of this paper is to analyze if the latest outbreak of anti-Islamic attacks is only a variation of <<traditional>> anti-Arab racism, or if current Islamophobia presents, on the contrary, some new peculiarities, partly or entirely distinct from traditional xenophobia. Our analysis will clarify two points : first, ultranationalist racist ideology plays a nonnegligible part in the contemporary Islamophobia. This point of view, systematically amalgamating <<terrorists>>, <<fundamentalists>>, <<Muslims>> and <<immigrants>>, consists in considering the Islam as a <<potential threat>> to the French nation and, on the basis of an essentialist ideology, in excluding Islam from the phantasmagoric fabrication of a so-called <<French identity>>. Secondly, the present-day Islamophobia is nevertheless clearly irreducible to the ultranationalist anti-Arab racism : <<criticism of Islamic fundamentalists>> by several actors (experts of <<New anti-Semitism by Muslims>>, defenders of <<universal values>> or even <<Moderate Muslims>>), also exercises sometimes-in its own ways- some vicious influences on the reinforcement of anti-Muslim stereotypes, potentially leading to some latent legitimatization of its overstepped forms.

Thirty patients with chronic diseases were treated with fasting cure (for about ten days), and almost of them showed remarkable clinical improvement.Mechanism of the effects is not so evident, but we think that fasting may take curativeeffects as stress, that is, it may be one of alterable treatments.

近年,長寿命化や高齢者のみの世帯の増加が進む中で,遺族にとって遺品整理が困難な状況が増えていると考えられ,それとともに遺品整理ビジネスが事業化されてきている。本稿では,遺品整理業者をめぐる状況および遺品廃棄物の運搬・処分と廃棄物処理法における業の許可との関係について述べるとともに,遺品廃棄物の運搬・処分を自治体の一般廃棄物処理計画の中に位置づける必要性を指摘した。その上で,対応の可能性として,① 直営による運搬・処分,② 一般廃棄物収集運搬許可業者による家庭系一時多量廃棄物の収集・運搬についての特例容認,③ 遺品廃棄物の収集・運搬に対する限定許可の付与,④ 一定の条件の下で,遺品整理事業者による遺品の収集運搬を例外的に容認する国のガイドラインの策定,の 4 つを示した。そして ④ のガイドライン素案を提案した。最後に高齢者の立場から,生前整理を容易にするための廃棄物行政上の課題について述べた。

〔目的〕本研究は,脳卒中片麻痺患者の体幹伸展可動域と歩行能力との関連について明らかにすること.〔対象と方法〕維持期脳卒中片麻痺患者12名を対象とした.日整会の方式に乗っ取り体幹伸展の自動・他動可動域を計測し,歩行能力については10 mテストから歩行速度,歩行率,ストライド長を算出し,ピアソンの相関分析を用いて検討を行った.〔結果〕体幹伸展の自動可動域は,歩行速度とストライド長と強い相関関係を認めた.〔結語〕脳卒中片麻痺の体幹伸展可動域は,歩行能力との関連を示す指標であることが示唆された.このことから, 体幹伸展の自動可動域は, 脳卒中片麻痺の歩行と関連する機能の一つであると考える.

本研究は障害児の年齢(18歳以下・19歳以上),出生順位,妻の仕事の有無に着目して障害者の父親の生活意識の検証を目的とする.方法は質問紙調査が採用され,341人(34〜81歳)の父親から回答が得られた.その結果,18歳以下の障害児の父親が学校・施設行事に積極的に参加し,妻と会話をよくしていたが,障害児をもったことでつらい経験をし,その理由として,子どものしつけを挙げていた.また,これらの父親は,障害者の働く場所の確保を行政に期待していた.出生順位は,障害児が第1子(長男・長女)の場合,その父親は社会的問題をよく考えていた.障害児が第2子(次男・次女)以降の場合,その父親は社会が障害者に対して親切であると感じていた.妻が仕事をしていない場合,父親は子どもの障害について妻とよく話をしていた.一方,妻が仕事をしている場合,父親は母親の働く場所のさらなる確保を行政に期待していた.全体として障害者の父親は,わが子の障害にショックを受けながら,母親の育児に協力をし,仕事に励んでいた.

広域分散システム上で、そこに参加している各組織が管理している情報資源を相互に利用したいという需要がある。しかし、実用的なシステムでは、それらの資源は独自の管理ポリシーに基づいて管理されており、意味的/表現形式的に不均質であるので、この相違を埋めなければならない。例えば自動二輪免許は日本では限定付 (中型二輪) と限定解除の二種による規制があるが、米国ではこの分類は存在しないため、日本の二輪免許所持者はその限定付/解除の分類に拘らず、米国では全ての排気量の二輪車両を運転できる。このような相違を埋めるために新たに均質なシステム (上の例で言えば、日米共通の法律) を導入するのは、管理ポリシー上からもコスト面からも不適切なことが多い。既存のシステム間でのサービス利用インタフェースを変換するような方向で調整できれば、リソースの自治的管理を保ったまま相互利用が可能となる。そこで、現在開発しているオブジェクト指向分散環境OZに、そのような変換の枠組みであるフェデレーションの機構を導入すべく、その概念設計を行ったので報告する。

In spite of carefull regulation, the reproducibility of SiO2 deposition rate has been sometimes poor in an rf sputtering system. This paper describes systematic experiments on the relationship between the deposition rate and vacuum quality in some sputtering systems. Data of the deposition rate versus vacuum characteristic parameters such as ultimate prssure, argon flow rate during sputtering, leak rate of air or water vapour, and baking time of the sputtering chamber are given. In addition gas analysis made by quadrupole mass filter shows that the pressure of water vapour is commonly most responsible for the reproducibility of the deposition rate. Internal liquid nitrogen trap pumping selectively water has been proved to be effective to suppress the decrease of the deposition rate and to improve reproducibility.

This article describes the characteristics of running and sprinting from the viewpoint of kinematics and mechanical energy. Mechanical stress on the body induced by running does not always increase at faster running speed. Mechanical stress on the body when running is affected by the conversion of mechanical energy and momentum. In instruction on running in the field of physical therapy, it is not necessary to decide the grade of running as to speed. It is necessary to prescribe running while predicting mechanical stress on the body, and thinking about the conversion of mechanical energy and momentum.

ヘミングウェイのIn Our Timeが出版されたのは1925年で, 世界大戦の間の世界中が混迷している時代であった.この作品は15編の短編から成っているが, そのなかの8編に登場するNick Adamsは物語をおうごとに少年から青年へと成長していく.なにもかも未経験のNickは父や母の影響ばかりでなく人間の生と死に直面し, なにか大きなものに導かれながらはっきりとした目的を持った大人になっていく.作者のHard-boiled非情な文体で描かれた我らの時代は, 戦争の悲惨さや無秩序な社会を読者に伝えている.たんたんと描かれたシーンであればあるほど読者の想像力を刺激する.この作品の中のとても短いイタリック体で書かれた部分は特に悲惨な戦争や闘牛士の場面が多いが, 作者は題名のないこの部分とNickの成長のようすを意図的にちりばめて短く鮮烈な印象を読者に伝えている.世界大戦後の先の見えない時代にNickの成長の姿が明るい希望となっている.

成人女性の多くは生理的変化や精神状態の変化を伴う性周期を有しており、近年この性周期に関連したタスクパフォーマンスの変動について注目されている。また今日、女性の社会での活躍は著しく、その職域も拡大していることから、女性の働く意欲と能力を存分に発揮できるような社会システムが要求されている。このような社会背景においても性周期に関連したタスクパフォーマンスの変動について明確にすることは重要なことのひとつと考えられる。性周期に関連したタスクパフォーマンスの変動についての先行研究は、特に身体的不快感や気分の変化といった愁訴の性周期変動もしくは性ステロイドホルモンの性周期変動に関連したタスクパフォーマンスの変動に注目した研究が行われている。性周期に伴う愁訴は月経随伴症状ともいい、一般的に月経前期に「憂鬱」や「いらいらする」などの精神症状や乳房痛などの乳房症状が出現する「月経前症状」と月経中に下腹痛や腰痛の出現する「月経時症状」がある。

それまで本格的には筐体に使われていなかったという新鮮さ。しかも,密度がアルミニウム合金の2/3と小さく,比剛性*や比強度*は実用金属の中でトップレベル。こうした特徴を武器に,マグネシウム合金はモバイルパソコン,ポータブルMDプレーヤー,デジタルビデオカメラなどモバイル機器の筐体材料として,急激に採用を広げ,確固たる地位を築いた。
