芳香脂肪族の構造を有するキシリレンジイソシアネート(XDI)の特性及びその誘導体であるXDI-トリメチロールプロパン(TMP)アダクト体の塗料用硬化剤としての性質を調査した。XDI は,イソシアネート基と芳香環がメチレン基を介して結合した芳香脂肪族のポリイソシアネートであり,芳香族および脂肪・脂環族ポリイソシアネートとは異なった性質を示した。この特徴ある構造に基づく性質を活かして,塗料,接着剤等への用途展開が期待できる。

Poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA) is a synthetic copolymer that has been used to design micro/nanoparticles as a carrier for macromolecules, such as protein and nucleic acids, that can be internalized by the endocytosis pathway. However, it is difficult to control the intracellular delivery to target organelles. Here we report an intracellular delivery system of nanoparticles modified with bacterial cytotoxins to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and anti-inflammatory activity of the nanoparticles. Subtilase cytotoxin (SubAB) is a bacterial toxin in certain enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) strains that cleaves the host ER chaperone BiP and suppresses nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-κB) activation and nitric oxide (NO) generation in macrophages at sub-lethal concentration. PLGA-nanoparticles were modified with oligo histidine-tagged (6 × His-tagged) recombinant SubAB (SubAB-PLGA) through a pH-sensitive linkage, and their translocation to the ER in macrophage cell line J774.1 cells, effects on inducible NO synthase (iNOS), and levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α cytokine induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) were examined. Compared with free SubAB, SubAB-PLGA was significantly effective in BiP cleavage and the induction of the ER stress marker C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP) in J774.1 cells. Furthermore, SubAB-PLGA attenuated LPS-stimulated induction of iNOS and TNF-α. Our findings provide useful information for protein delivery to macrophages and may encourage therapeutic applications of nanoparticles to the treatment of inflammatory diseases.

鉄道車両の保守には大勢の係員が関わっており,ヒューマンエラーによるトラブルの防止は現場管理上の重要な課題として様々な対策の工夫がなされてきている。本稿ではヒューマンファクターの観点からこれまでの取り組みを振り返り,ヒューマンエラー対策だけでなくヒューマンファクターを前向きに活用することや,全社的な安全管理,品質管理マネジメントの一環として現場の問題を考えることの必要性について述べる。

本稿の目的は,家庭奉仕員制度と家政婦の対象領域の変化から日本のホームヘルプの歴史を再検討することである.国際ホームヘルプ協会の国際的定義によれば本来ホームヘルプは供給主体・対象に限定はなく,家庭奉仕員制度も家政婦も共にホームヘルプの構成要素の一つである.しかし先行研究が論じているホームヘルプは家庭奉仕員制度に限定されてきた.そこで本稿は,同協会の定義に準拠し両者の対象領域の変化に着目して,戦後から2000年までの日本のホームヘルプの歴史を検討した.その結果,日本のホームヘルプは,①1960年代初頭までは両者の対象領域は不明確であったが,②1960年代中頃より家庭奉仕員制度の法制度整備によって名実ともに分化し,③1970年代中頃以降になると高齢化社会などの社会背景の変化に伴い家政婦が在宅高齢者へ対象領域を拡大させたことに端を発し,各々が次第に再接近・同化するという3点の時代区分が存在することが明らかになった.

By a hybrid design of naturally derived excitatory amino acids, dysiherbaines and kainic acid, we have successfully developed a series of artificial glutamate analogs with sp3-rich scaffold via domino Ugi/Diels-Alder reaction, and domino metathesis reaction of oxanorbornenes as key steps. All of the first-generation analogs were found to be neuronally active upon mice intracerebroventricular injection. As the second-generation analogs, we then synthetically modified the heterotricyclic structure, and found that analogs with a carbonyl group on the A-ring still keep the original activity of the first-generation analogs. Structural modification of the second-generation analogs by diversity-oriented reactions such as multicomponent Prins-Ritter reaction was furthermore studied to improve the activity profiles. Electrophysiological studies have identified IKM-159 of the second-generation analogs as an antagonist selective to AMPA-type ionotropic glutamate receptor. The molecular interactions were clarified from crystallographic studies of IKM-159 in complex with GluA2 ligand-binding domain (LBD). From the structure-activity relationships and the structural insights of the complex, a new structural design is proposed herein for neuronally active agents with improved potency and selectivity. We also propose here that generation of sp3-rich scaffold by hybrid strategy of known bioactive molecules would be of use for discovery of artificial bioactive agents with novel activity profiles.

塩化物系及び有機物系の凍結防止剤の水溶液を用いて硬化セメントペーストの浸漬試験を行った。実験変数は、凍結防止剤の種類、水溶液の温度と濃度であり、比較のためにイオン交換水及び硬水を用いた。何れの凍結防止剤もカルシウム溶脱を促進し、特にMgCl2の場合に顕著であった。硬水中では硬化セメントペースト表面にカルサイトの緻密な結晶層が生成しカルシウム溶脱を抑制するが、凍結防止剤水溶液中では何れの温度と濃度においても表面に生じた結晶にカルシウム溶脱を抑制する効果はなかった。MgCl2の場合にはMg(OH)2の結晶層が生成しカルシウム溶脱を助長する要因となった。中長期的な視点ではコンクリートの劣化に対する凍結防止剤の影響は軽視できないものと考察した。

近年,地域ブランドが社会的に着目されている.とりわけ,農産物や食品では,ブランドの呼称に地名を利用し,産地を強調するものが多数みられるようになった.本稿では,牛肉を事例として,農産物や食品に込められるローカル性の意味について考察するとともに,地域ブランドを利用して産地振興を図る際の方向性について議論を行った.地域性をアピールした牛肉が市場で大量に流通するようになったが,牛の品種・血統や飼料の地域的差異は縮小し,牛肉の品質は均一化しつつある.そもそも,繁殖と肥育が地域分業で営まれ,市場で流通している地域ブランド牛肉には,産地内で生まれたものと産地外で生まれたものとが混在している.また,ブランドは必ずしも品質を保証しておらず,呼称の混乱もみられるほどである.したがって,牛肉の商品自体に付随するローカル性は縮小し,「地域」ブランドは虚構であるといわざるを得ない.牛肉産地における振興の方向性としては,3つのことがあげられる.第1に,ローカル性の喪失には目をつむり,地域ブランドの示す空間範囲を拡大することである.弱小ブランドの産地としては,既存のフードシステムで競争する限り,流通量を増やして,少しでも認知度を高める必要がある.第2に,ローカル性を徹底的に追求していくことである.希少性のある品種を飼養したり,飼料や飼育方法などで,他産地との差別化を図っていく.第3に,牛肉のローカル性が虚構であることを,利用していくということである.現代の日本では,食品の可食部分だけを消費しているのではなく,むしろ食品に付随する情報を消費している.食品に物語性を付加することで,消費者の需要喚起を図っていく戦略が考えられる.

富山県の主要な河川は、北アルプスなどの急峻な山岳地帯に源を発し、平野部を貫いて富山湾に注いでいる。これらの急流河川は有史以来、幾度となく氾濫を繰り返し、田畑や人家に大きな損害を与え、多くの人命をも奪ってきた。なかでも急流荒廃河川として名高い常願寺川の藩政期から明治期にかかる治水対策は壮絶を極めた。特に1858 (安政5) 年越中・飛騨地方を襲った大地震は立山山中で大きな土砂災害を発生させ、常願寺川の上流から下流一帯を泥海化し、大災害をもたらした。治水的観点から、その対応について述べる。

目的 全国の保健所およびその統合組織の実態を把握し,保健所の重要な任務である健康危機管理の体制を今後とも推進するためのより良い組織および権限付与のあり方を提言していくことを目的とした。方法 全国の保健所設置主体,合計123都道府県市区(以下,「県市区」という。)に郵送による自記式調査を実施し,平成14年10月現在の,各地方自治体の保健所と福祉事務所等の統合組織(以下,「統合組織」という。)の実態,および名称等について情報を得た。それらの調査資料をもとに,各県市区の健康危機管理対応のあり方を考察した。結果 112県市区(全都道府県,48市,17区)から回答(回収率91.0%)があった。統合組織は,市区では 7 市 1 区,都道府県では31府県存在していた。統合組織の長は,統合組織全体では医師34.7%,事務吏員63.5%,医師以外の技術吏員1.6%であった。統合組織の長と保健所長との間の情報提供のルールをあらかじめ作っているところはなかった。外部からの電話による問い合わせや,文書送付時の名称は,統合組織名を使用しているところが多かった。統合組織名は様々であったが,富山県や横浜市では,法律上の保健所の名称として「保健所」の名称は使用せず,それぞれ統合組織名である「厚生センター」,「福祉保健センター」を使用していた。考察・結論 保健所と福祉事務所の組織統合については,市区ではあまり進んでいなかったが,都道府県では31府県で,組織統合があり,約 7 割を占めており,単独の組織として保健所を考えることはもはや無意味である。統合形態としては,今後「ミニ県庁型」の組織統合が流行するものと予想される。また,統合組織の長からみた保健所長の位置付けから,健康危機発生時に,敏速な対応ができるのか疑問が残る。さらに,「○○保健所」と名乗らない「保健所」もあり,重大な問題があると考える。

Oil mist generated in commercial kitchens has a serious influence on worker's health and may make an odor problem. Therefore many research works have been recently reported on oil mist emitted from cooking equipment such as fryers and griddles in USA (ASHRAE 745-RP Final Report etc.) and in Japan. In this paper, particle size distributions emitted from griddle and fryer were measured with two measurement systems (WPS and SMPS/APS) and the results showed that size of almost all particles was under 1μm. However oil mist includes relatively large particles over 1μm which should not be neglected when cleanness in kitchen especially in the vicinity of cooking equipment is discussed. This paper also examined the aerosol dynamics of oil mist under 1μm. The results showed gravitational settling, coagulation and Brownian diffusion had no important effect on oil mist distribution in kitchens and oil mist under 1μm can be treated as passive scalar in CFD simulation.

Next generation sequencing (NGS) is one of the most impactful technologies to appear in the 21st century, and has already brought important changes to agriculture, especially in the field of breeding. Construction of a reference genome is key to the advancement of genomic studies, and therefore, de novo whole genome assembly has been performed in various plants, including strawberry. Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) is an allo-octoploid species (2n = 8x = 56), which has four discriminable subgenomes. Because of its complex genome structure, de novo whole genome assembly in strawberry has been considered a difficult challenge. However, recent advances of NGS technologies have allowed the construction of chromosome-scale de novo whole genome assembly. In this manuscript, we review the recent advances in de novo whole genome sequencing in strawberry and other Fragaria species. The genome structure and domestication history in strawberry is one of the largest questions in genetic and genomic studies in strawberry. Therefore, the domestication history in strawberry is also be reviewed based on comparisons of genes and genome sequences across Fragaria species.

The details of the matches of soccer can be estimated from visual and audio sequences, and they correspond to the occurrence of important scenes. Therefore, the use of these sequences is suitable for important scene detection. In this paper, a new multimodal method for important scene detection from visual and audio sequences in far-view soccer videos based on a single deep neural architecture is presented. A unique point of our method is that multiple classifiers can be realized by a single deep neural architecture that includes a Convolutional Neural Network-based feature extractor and a Support Vector Machine-based classifier. This approach provides a solution to the problem of not being able to simultaneously optimize different multiple deep neural architectures from a small amount of training data. Then we monitor confidence measures output from this architecture for the multimodal data and enable their integration to obtain the final classification result.
