沖縄県久米島で収穫した菌根性担子菌について、二次菌糸の分離、および rRNA 遺伝子内の ITS 領域の塩基配列解析を行った。二次菌糸が生育し菌株の単離ができる培地について検討したところ、ビール酵母を含む培地で生育・単離できることが明らかになった。また、得られた ITS 領域塩基配列データから BLAST による相同性解析を行ったところ、アンズタケ Cantharellus cibarius に 99.3%の相同性を示し、極めて近い類縁種であることが示唆された。

Piperazinealkanol ester derivatives of indomethacin were prepared and tested for inhibitory activities against 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO) and cyclooxygenase (CO). They inhibited 5-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (5-HETE) formation by the cytosol of guinea pig polymorphonuclear leukocytes and thromboxane B_2 (TXB_2) formation by washed rabit platelet suspension. Of the test compounds, 2-[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazinyl]-1-phenylethyl 1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-3-indolylacetate dimaleate (II-8) was found to be the most active dual inhibitor of 5-LO and CO, and its inhibitory potency was higher than that of 2-[4-(3-hydroxypropyl)-1-piperazinyl]-ethyl [1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl]-3-indolylacetate (CR-1015) (I), the lead compound.

A two-layer plasma sprayed thermal barrier coating on Ni base superalloy substrate was characterized. The coating was comprised of an inner layer of MCrAlY bond coating and an outer layer of 8wt% yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) thermal barrier coating (TBC). After aging, the reaction layer at interface between YSZ and MCrAlY was observed. The reaction layer had two different contrast layers in the SEM images. One was black which was closer to MCrAlY and the other was gray which was closer to YSZ. The thickness of both layers increased with aging. Also countless porosities at the gray layer and microcrack at YSZ were observed. Most of the macrocrack grew through the porosities. From this viewpoint one may say that the mechanism of macrocrack formation is a deterioration of adhesion which was accompanied by an increase of the porosities or the microcrack.

Interview and questionnaire surveys were conducted with bus drivers in Japan, with the goal of developing an educational program for better control of emotions among bus drivers. The interviews aimed at identifying stressors and ways in which stress negatively influenced bus services. The questionnaire survey, which was being developed as a self-diagnosis tool, further provided bus drivers with the opportunity to understand their own emotional tendencies. Factor analysis identified six factors underlying work-related stress: anger at unsafe behaviours of nearby road users, irritation caused by complaints from passengers, time pressures, anxiety about traffic accidents, impatience with slow passengers, and resentment of bad-mannered passengers. The influence of stress on the drivers comprised four factors: cognitive failure, sullen behaviour, abrupt acceleration/deceleration, and aggressive driving. Moreover, drivers with lower stress were relatively older and more experienced. Based on these results, educational materials were proposed with the aim of enhancing bus drivers’ understanding of their emotional processes and coping skills.

We report the oviposition behavior, the time for the larvae to reach maturity, and the larval feeding behavior of Trox mitis fujiokai (Coleoptera: Trogidae) under laboratory conditions. A total of 89 eggs were obtained from seven females. The oviposition was continued 15.6±4.4 (mean±SD) days, and the number of eggs a day was 1.9±1.0. Eggs were separately laid in the soil (6.6±2.3 cm depth). The larvae hatched 10.1±0.4 days after oviposition. Hatched larvae moved to the ground surface and fed on chicken feathers. After feeding on a part of the feathers, each larva made a single tunnel, carried the uneaten feathers into the tunnel, and consumed them there. Mature larvae moved deeper into the soil and pupated (8.9±3.0 cm, N=3). Two adults emerged 11 days after pupating.

Chlorella vulgarisK22株(クロレラ工業)藻体より,中性多糖を得て,化学構造を検討した.部分酸加水分解法で,3種の新規な二糖,6-O-(3-O-methyl-β-D-galactopyranosyl)-D-galactopyranose,6-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-3-O-methyl-D-galactopyranoseと6-O-(3-O-methyl--D-galactopyranosyl)-3-O-methyl-D-galactopyranose,およびβ-1,3-,β-1,6-結合のガラクトニ糖あるいは三糖を得たことから,この中性多糖は新規なβ-D-ガラクタンである.さらにこの中性多糖とその部分分解多糖のメチル化分析より,主鎖にβ-1,3-結合を,側鎖にβ-1,6-結合を含むこと,分岐領域にはβ-1,6-結合の3-O-メチル-D-ガラクトース残基をもつこと,また,側鎖の長さはこのモノメチル化糖を含めて14ガラクトース残基であることが示唆された.

平成30年西日本豪雨の際,全国瞬時警報システム(Jアラート)が使用され,避難指示などが伝達された.しかし,それによって実際に避難をするという人は少なく,避難しなければいけないと感じる通知が求められている.避難を促すことができていない要因として,通知によって新たな危険に備えるための「緊張感」を与えることができていないことが考えられる.本研究では,「緊張感」を持ったときに心拍が早くなるという心拍変動の変化に着目し,スマートフォンへの通知によって心拍変動にどのような変化が現れるか,について調査・分析を行った.

昭和53年から昭和61年までの9年間に放射線学実習で撮影された平均年齢24.3歳の男女1,353人の全顎デンタルX線写真のうち小臼歯部を目的としたものと大臼歯部を目的としたもの及びパノラマX線写真を使用し, 下顎第一大臼歯の3根の出現頻度について調査した。結果は次の通りである。1. 3根は右側歯数1,163本中240本 (20.6%), 左側歯数1,168本中200本 (17.1%) であった。2. デンタルX線写真による歯根数の確認は, 小臼歯部目的の写真のみで3根の確認できたもの274本 (11.8%), 小臼歯部ならびに大臼歯部目的の写真のいずれでも確認できたもの124本 (5.3%), 大臼歯部目的の写真のみで確認できたもの42本 (1.8%) であった。3. パノラマX線写真で3根の確認できたものは, 440本中70本 (15.9%) であった。4. 左右両側に第一大臼歯の存在している人1,070人のうち, 両側共3根の人は136人 (12.7%), 片側のみ3根の人は127人 (11.9%) であった。

2005年春に, 中国福建省から養殖種苗として輸入されたカンパチ幼魚にアニサキスの寄生が高頻度に見られた。この寄生虫は, 形態学的にはヒトアニサキス症の原因となるAnisakis I型幼虫と同定された。ITS1-5.8S rRNA-ITS2領域の塩基配列では, 広義のA. simplex を構成する種の一つであるA. pegreffii と極めて近縁であった。主な寄生部位は胃壁および胃漿膜であり, 腹部の筋肉に虫体は認められなかった。本症例は, 養殖魚におけるアニサキス寄生の初めての例である。

本研究では、社会階層の調査研究の視点と学校調査の研究の視点を融合し、従来の社会階層調査では検討できなかった教育・学校変数をふんだんに取り込んだ「教育・社会階層・社会移動全国調査(ESSM2013)を実施した。60.3%という高い回収率が得られたことにより良質の教育・社会階層データを得ることができた。これにより、これまで学校調査で部分的にしか確認されなかった教育体験の社会階層に対する効果や、社会階層が教育体験に及ぼす影響について、全国レベルのデータで検証を行なうことができた。

Fish blood flukes (FBFs) are the most important digenean parasites in marine finfish aquaculture due to their high pathogenicity. Numerous eggs accumulate in gill lamellae and capillary vessels in various organs, interfere the blood flow. This causes fish to suffocate to death or leads to other fatal health problems. In Japan, important culture fish, such as amberjacks, bluefin tuna and tiger puffer are affected by FBFs of different taxa; namely Paradeontacylix spp., Cardicola spp. and Psettarium spp., respectively. FBFs are relatively host specific and utilize a complex two-host lifecycle. To date, the lifecycles have been elucidated for only a handful marine FBF species and all use terebellid polychaetes as the intermediate host. Chemotherapy with the oral treatment of praziquantel is effective and commonly used in fish farms as a sole control measure against FBFs. The development of prevention method is expected with the recent advances in knowledge on the biology of FBFs.

さまざまなデンプンをアセチル化することにより, 置換度の増加に伴うアセチル基の分布を検討した. アミロース含量の高いハイアミローススターチは, 低密度のアミロース部分からアセチル化が起こり, 低置換体ではアミロース部分にアセチル基が多く導入される. 一方, アミロース含量の低いデンプンは, アミロペクチンの構造によってアセチル基の分布が異なった. B型の馬鈴薯デンプンのアミロペクチンは分子鎖が長いため, アミロース分子とからみ合った部分が存在し, アセチル化はアミロースとアミロペクチンに同時に起こる. A型のコーンスターチはアミロペクチンの分子鎖が短いため, アミロースとアミロペクチンが単純な混合物として存在し, アセチル化はアミロース部分から進行する. しかしながら, アセチル化機構が異なっても, アセチル化デンプンの結晶構造には影響を与えなかった.
