When describing player's actions in videogame playing, we often use the sentences which seem to say that the player performs her actions within a fictional world. But it seems to be impossible for a real individual to act in a fictional location. Here is a puzzle. This paper attempts to analyze such sentences and solve this ontological puzzle. First, I examine some possible answers. Immersionism takes the sentences as expressing the player's experiences of immersion. Virtualism assumes that the sentences refer to players' actions within not fictional but virtual worlds. Realism says that the apparently fictional actions are really real. Fictionalism claims that the sentences are not true but fictionally true. I show that all of these are far from satisfactory. Then, I turn to two more sophisticated theories. Grant Tavinor's interactive fiction theory invokes Waltonian work-world/game-world distinction to account for the peculiarity of videogame fiction. John Sageng offers a realist theory according to which player's actions induce reference shifts from fictional happenings to on-screen happenings. But both have some fault as well. Finally, I claim that the apparently fictional actions are as real as actions in traditional games are, though specified by on-screen signs individuated by their fictional contents.

うつ病に対する断眠療法は,一晩の断眠直後から効果が発現する,有効率が約60 %と高い,副作用が少ない,薬物抵抗性の難治性うつ病にも有効である,といった利点がある。一方で,効果が持続しにくい,患者側・治療者側の負担が大きい,診療報酬請求ができない,といった欠点があり,今日まで我が国では普及してこなかった。しかし,断眠療法の効果を増強・持続させる方法について多くの研究報告が蓄積されてきた。断眠療法単独ではなく,抗うつ薬,炭酸リチウム等の薬物治療,高照度光療法あるいは睡眠位相前進等を併用することで,断眠療法の効果を増強・持続させ得ることが知られている。うつ病の治療においては一般的な薬物治療のみでは難渋・遷延するケースも少なからずあるため,断眠療法を治療選択肢の1つとして組み入れることは難治例の解決や治療期間の短縮につながると期待できる。

近年、音声認識や音声合成の性能が向上しておりそれらを用いた音声自動応答サービスが広く提供され始めている。音声自動応答サービスでは音声認識の精度がサービスの質に直結する重要な要素であるが、性能が向上しているとはいえ音声認識の精度は完璧ではない。そこで我々は音声認識誤りを含む音声認識結果を、文法誤り訂正と同じように訂正することを考える。文法誤り訂正は、巨大なコーパスで事前学習した言語モデルを用いた深層学習系の手法の台頭により性能が飛躍的に向上しているが、音声認識誤りを含む大規模な日本語コーパスは存在しない。そこで小規模な音声認識コーパスから誤り傾向を分析して誤り付与ルールを策定し、そのルールを巨大な日本語コーパスに適用することで、自動的に擬似音声認識誤りコーパスを作成した。本研究では複数の条件で作成した擬似誤りコーパスを事前学習に用いてTransformerによる誤り訂正の実験を行い、コーパス作成の設定が精度に与える影響の評価を行う。

本研究では、北海道において4種の国内外来カエルによる捕食被害の実態を明らかにすることを目的とし、近年カエル類の食性調査においても汎用性が期待される胃重要度指数割合を用い食性調査を実施した。その結果、アズマヒキガエル、ツチガエルは地表徘徊性生物、特にアリ類を大量に捕食しており、アズマヒキガエル、トウキョウダルマガエル、トノサマガエルはカエル類を捕食していることが明らかとなった。外来カエルの捕食による北海道独自の生態系ピラミッドへの影響や在来カエルとの競合または駆逐が懸念される。また3種の外来カエルが希少種を捕食していたことが判明した一方で、1種の外来カエルはセイヨウオオマルハナバチなどの他の外来種を捕食していることが判明した。北海道においてアズマヒキガエル、トノサマガエル、トウキョウダルマガエルの3種は分布拡大傾向にあるため、広範囲にわたる捕食影響が懸念される。特に近年、北海道では水稲が盛んであり、水田地域を生息域として利用するトウキョウダルマガエル、トノサマガエルの分布拡大は今後の地域の湿地生態系に大きな影響を与える可能性がある。

「量子三目並べ」は2002年に物理学者AllanGoffらによって提案された,量子力学の概念を利用した二人完全情報零和ゲームである1).本稿では,直線状の三目を先に完成させれば勝ちとする古典的な三目並べの勝利基準(完勝と呼ぶ)と,両者同時に三目完成させたとき,完成した三目の着手番号の最大値が小さい方を勝ちとする勝利基準(辛勝と呼ぶ)の下で量子三目並べの必勝法の解析を行い,本ゲームが完勝の基準の下では引き分けであり,辛勝の基準の下では先手必勝で勝利に必要な手数が9手であることを示す.さらに,探索の高速化とある自然な改訂ルールの下での必勝法についても述べる.

Center for Japanese Language at Waseda University held a "kanji workshop" to provide international students with an environment in which they can master not only kanji but also kanji learning methods, and then proceed with their kanji learning autonomously. This workshop consisted of the following activities: 1) an introduction to kanji learning resources, as well as tasks introducing the use of the kanji learning tools; 2) the planning of kanji learning and its review; 3) the sharing of kanji learning methods among learners; and 4) the creation of personalized dictionaries and their sharing among learners. This paper describes the activities carried out in this workshop, and reports on the results of a questionnaire survey.

本研究では,単一市内の全保育所・公立小中学校の児童生徒の保護者を対象に調査を実施し,ASD傾向及びADHD傾向といじめ被害及び加害との関連を検討した。ASSQによってASD傾向を,ADHD-RSによってADHD傾向を測定した。いじめ被害及び加害は,関係的いじめ,言語的いじめ,身体的いじめのそれぞれのいじめについて測定した。保育所年少から中学3年生までの計8396名の幼児児童生徒のデータに対する順序ロジスティック回帰分析の結果,他の独立変数の効果を調整しない場合には,いじめ被害及び加害ともに,いずれのいじめに対してもASD傾向とADHD傾向の効果が示された。これに対して,他の独立変数の効果を調整した場合には,2つの発達障害傾向のいじめに対する影響は異なるものであった。いじめ被害では,全てのいじめでASD傾向の主効果が確認されたが,ADHD傾向の主効果が確認されたのは関係的いじめと言語的いじめのみであり,オッズ比もASD傾向より小さかった。いじめ加害では,全てのいじめでADHD傾向の主効果が確認されたが,ASD傾向ではいずれのいじめにおいても主効果は確認されなかった。これに加えて,学年段階や性別との交互作用についてもASD傾向とADHD傾向で違いが見られた。

Forecast performances of the July 2020 Kyushu heavy rain have been revisited with the aim of improving the forecasts for this event. While the Japan Meteorological Agency's (JMA) deterministic forecasts were relatively good, the JMA's ensemble forecasts somehow missed this event. Our approach is to introduce flow-dependence into assimilation by running a 1000-member local ensemble transform Kalman filter (LETKF1000) to extract more information from observations and to better quantify forecast uncertainties. To save computational costs, vertical localization is removed in running LETKF1000. Qualitative and quantitative verifications show that the LETKF1000 forecasts outperform the operational forecasts both in deterministic and probabilistic forecasts.Rather than a trick to save computational costs, removal of vertical localization is shown to be the main contribution to the outperformance of LETKF1000. If vertical localization is removed, forecasts with similar performances can be obtained with 100 ensemble members. We hypothesize that running ensemble Kalman filters with around 1000 ensemble members is more effective if vertical localization is removed at the same time. Since this study examines only one case, to assess benefit of removing vertical localization rigorously when the number of ensemble members is around 1000, a larger set of cases needs to be considered in future.

This essay focuses on a working-class woman, called Hannah Cullwick (1833-1901), and studies her ideas of fashion based on her diary. Hannah was a maid-of-all work since she was fourteen. In spite of her humble origin, she kept a diary between 1854 and 1873, because her secret lover, Arthur Munby (1828-1910), recommended her to do so. Munby was an upper-class author and poet to whom Hannah had a life-long relation. In her diary, she recorded her opinions of her works, numerous employers she served, her colleagues, and Munby. Her diary reveals that through her relation to Munby, Hannah cultivated her own ideas of gender, career and fashion.  Throughout her service, she wore a humble working-dress. Even after her secret marriage to Munby in 1873, which financially enabled her to dress and behave like a lady, she determinedly wore the humble clothes of a lower servant. She self-approvingly noted her financial and mental independence through domestic service, while she pitied 'proudly' dressed middle-class ladies who engaged only feminine activities. Experiencing different social class behaviours and gender ideologies, Hannah found her humble working dress of cotton functioning as a sign of her financial and mental independence, pride of her service, and her identity as a working-class 'woman'. These ideas were definitely different from middle-class stereotypical assumptions of working-class women, or working-class women's standard reactions against them.  Hannah's life-long relation to the upper-class man may not be a typical experience for a lower-class woman of the period. Unique her experiences and ideas may be, Hannah provides us a new understanding of women in this social segment, their career and gender identity through their dress.

Accumulation and retention of 125Sb by short-necked clam Tapes japonica were investigated in order to elucidate the uptake mechanism of the nuclide in marine bivalves. It was found that the accumulation of 125Sb by the clam from the environmental water showed an initially relative rapid increase, followed by a gradual increasing pattern during the experimental period. The concentration factors for 125Sb in the clam at the end of the experimental period were obtained as 1.2 for the soft part and 4.2 for the shell. The loss of 125Sb accumulated in the whole clam showed an initial decrease, followed by two slow elimination patterns. The long-lived biological half-life for 125Sb in the clam was approximately 58 days. Regarding the influence of chelating agent and co-existing element on the accumulation of 125Sb by the clam, it was observed that the addition of stable antimony to the rearing sea watere enhanced the accumulation of 125Sb by the soft part and shell of the clam to some extent; whereas, the accumulation of 125Sb by the soft part and shell was not depressed in the presence of EDTA. The accumulation of 125Sb by the shell depends mostly on the surface adsorption phenomenon rather than that via metabolic process.

クリニカルジャズはEBMと臨床経験の振り返りを調和させつつディスカッションを進める教育セッション (症例検討会) として知られている. 振り返りを重要な構成要素とするクリニカルジャズは, Reflection in action, Reflection on action, Reflection for actionのすべてに関与しており, 省察的実践家にとって有用なツールとなる. また, 振り返りが含まれることを特徴とするポートフォリオとも親和性が高い. ポートフォリオのアウトカム領域に合致する症例をクリニカルジャズ方式で検討することで, クリニカルジャズはポートフォリオ検討会としての役割も果たす.
