電気自動車の普及とともに多量の排出が予想されている使用済リチウムイオン電池について、適正なリサイクルを行うための技術開発を開始した。全国から個別小ロットの使用済リチウムイオン電池を効率的に回収するシステムを構築し、焙焼、破砕、選別操作をすることで銅、アルミ、鉄、コバルトを安全にリサイクルする。個別小ロットの電池の回収は、松田産業株式会社の小口廃棄物回収事業で築いた実績を活用する。選別後に発生する残渣は太平洋セメント株式会社のセメント工場で原燃料としてリサイクルすることで100%リサイクル可能なシステムを達成する。実証試験は処理能力が1日当たり3トンの焙焼設備と1日当たり8トンの選別設備を設置することで行い、進捗は実用化試験に移行できる段階まで進めることができた。2020年以降の電気自動車の普及加速に対応した最適システムの構築を進めることで、適切な資源循環を行っていきたいと考える。

This paper proposes an interactive image-based re-modeling system for virtual reshaping of real objects via a video see-through display. The system provides a quasi-realistic design environment in which a designer manipulates the shape and location of real products installed in a real living space. A prototype of the proposed system is developed by integrating two sub-systems for solid modeling based on 3D-CAD and visualization based on image-based rendering. A case study of the virtual redesign of real products illustrates that the proposed system allows designers to examine various design changes on the existing products in an immersive and realistic 3D environment.

Cooperation plays an important role in daily social interactions in humans. Wild chimpanzees have been reported to act cooperatively during hunting, but whether or not they are really engaging in cooperation is under debate. Investigation of cooperation in captive chimpanzees dates back to Kohler&rsquos observation, but experimental examination of cooperative ability in chimpanzees has been limited. The present paper describes recent advances in the study of cooperation and other related behaviors in chimpanzees, focusing on two kinds of experiments. In one of the experiments, two individuals had to move a set of heavy stones in order to obtain food under them. Two chimpanzees never succeeded in the task, but a pair of a chimpanzee and a human succeeded, and the chimpanzee began to solicit the human partner when he was not responding. In the other experiment, two individuals had to pull both ends of a string simultaneously to obtain food. The two chimpanzees did not succeed initially, but they gradually began to adjust their behavior to succeed in the task, by watching the partner and waiting for her. These studies indicate that the chimpanzees are able to comprehend some aspect of cooperation, but they never showed ostensive communicative behavior to achieve cooperation with the partner. Taken together other related studies, competitive social skill hypothesis and emotional reactivity hypothesis may have a key in understanding evolution of cooperation. However, these hypotheses seem to be insufficient in explaining the whole picture, and future research in needed especially by focusing on the nature of mother-infant relationships.

近年は映像コンテンツの市場が拡大し、誰でも容易に映像コンテンツの制作と公開を行うことができる。そのなかでシナリオ制作の需要と機会は増しているといえ、シナリオ制作の段階のひとつである台詞執筆の需要と機会も増加しているといえる。だが、既存の台詞執筆補助手法は感覚と経験による技術しか提案されてない。そこで本研究では台詞がもつ傾向やその基本的な構造を明らかにしてデータとして台詞執筆者に提示する補助手法を提案した。その結果実験では必ず台詞の候補を増やせるという結果が出たため、本研究は台詞執筆の際の感覚と経験に頼る現状を変えることに寄与できたものと考える。

紅麹は,古来より中国や韓国等でお酒をはじめとする種々発酵食品に用いられ,日本においても琉球王朝時代より豆腐ように用いられており,紅麹から抽出した「紅麹色素」は「天然着色剤」として普及している.また近年,一部の紅麹菌からコレステロール低下作用を有するロバスタチン(モナコリン K)が発見された.スタチン薬は LDL-コレステロール低下剤として今や世界中で約 3000 万もの人々に使用される処方薬であるが,この天然スタチンが含まれる紅麹を用いた加工食品も利用できるようになり,食生活改善による生活習慣病の一次予防においても注目される.本稿では,紅麹の食品としての歴史,機能性食品素材としての成分とその作用メカニズム,脂質代謝改善などの臨床試験結果などを取り上げ,補完代替医療素材としての可能性や健康維持・生活習慣病の予防における有用性について紹介する.

近年,ハイブリッド自動車等のエコカーへの需要が高まり,政府も補助金や減税等でエコカーへの買い替えを後押ししている。これらの買い替え促進政策は主に自動車の性能に応じて設定され,その適用は全国一律となっている。一方で,燃費改善に伴い走行距離が増加してしまうというリバウンド効果の存在は国内でも確認されているものの,地域間でリバウンド効果に差があるかどうかは今のところ検証されていない。もし,地域間でリバウンド効果に差があるならば,全国一律のエコカー普及制度は非効率的なものとなる。そこで,本研究では地域間,特に大都市圏と地方部との間でリバウンド効果に差が見られるかどうかを,790世帯の家計調査の結果を用いて検証した。分析の結果,大都市圏ではリバウンド効果は確認されなかった一方で,地方部ではリバウンド効果が約34%もあることが明らかになった。このことは,大都市圏と地方部で一律のエコカー普及策を導入した場合,地方部での費用対効果が大都市圏よりも低くなってしまうことを意味する。より効率的に自動車からの温室効果ガスを削減させるためには,現状のような全国一律の普及施策ではなく,地域間で補助金等の価格差を設けると同時に,地方部では公共交通機関への代替を促すような制度設計も必要である。

The American study of international relations since the '60s has been in confusion and disorder. There is no agreement on the future of scientific International Relations, no semblance of a theory nor hope of its development, no agreement about the accumulation of knowledge nor paradigm takeoff, no reliability in the methods nor the data, no credibility in the public domain nor relevance for the foreign policy practitioners.This is another “twenty years crisis” of confidence in the scientific study of International Relations. The crisis is not merely the result of methodological immaturity, but reflects something fundamental about the human world: it concerns the nature of scientific investigation itself.In the first part of this article, the state of the field, in confusion and disorder, is reviewed and described, and A. Lijphart's and J. Rosenau's arguments on the scientific revolution in IR are taken for criticism as a starting point for developing an alternative viewpoint, the focus of which is the intersubjective and common meanings of human behavior.In the latter part, the author looks from an interpretive angle at the study of international relations, refocusing attention on the concrete varieties of cultural meanings in their particularities and complex texture.The main thrust of the whole argument is, somehow, on the American mainstream of thought in International Relations which is pecuriarly scientistic and ethnocentric in its own way.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) に合併する血管病変は主に細小動脈の閉塞性病変とされており, 大血管に拡張性病変を合併することは希である. 今回SLEに合併した若年者腹部大動脈瘤を経験したので報告する. 病理所見では大動脈 vasa vasorum の増生・内膜肥厚と炎症性細胞浸潤を認め, 動脈硬化性の動脈瘤とは異なる像を呈していた. 本症例の腹部大動脈瘤は vasa vasorum の増生・内腔狭窄に起因して生じた可能性が示唆された.
