要旨:エビデンスレベルの高い介入研究を実施するためには,対照群を設定する必要があるが倫理的に容易ではない.本研究では,一般臨床のデータを後方視的に抽出することにより,214名の脳卒中後上肢麻痺における回復期の傾向スコア算出のためのデータプールを構築した.データの使用例として,過去に著者らが実施した,対照群を用いない前後比較試験のデータを介入群とした傾向スコアマッチングを行った結果についても併せて報告する.本研究のデータを多くの研究者や臨床家が対照群として使用することにより,臨床研究の質向上に貢献できると考える.

This study examines the effects of removing long-spined sea urchin species Diadema setosum on algal coverage, biomass, and sessile animal biomass in experimental plots that simulate barren grounds. Algal coverage and biomass increased in removal plots, and no algae were observed in non-removal plots where D. setosum was maintained at high density. A positive correlation was found between the algal coverage and biomass in the removal plots. Further, sessile animal biomass in the removal plots was higher than that in the non-removal plots. Our results suggest that the feeding pressure of D. setosum affects not only algal coverage and biomass but also sessile animal biomass.

キックスケート(車輪付きデッキ,シャフト,ハンドルバーから構成される遊戯具)による肝損傷で病院前心肺停止状態(CPA-OA)となり救命しえなかった症例を経験した.症例は, 9歳,男児,同遊戯具で走行中転倒しハンドルバーで右側胸部を強打.救急隊現場到着時,不穏状態で呼名に反応せず,血圧測定不能,搬送途中呼吸状態,意識レベル悪化,受傷後約30分で当センター到着, CPA-OAであった.腹部は軽度膨隆,右肋弓に6mmの圧挫痕を認めた.急速輸液,開胸心臓マッサージにより蘇生に成功した.肝破裂と腹腔内出血の増加,血液凝固異常,著しいアシドーシスを認めた.胸部下行大動脈遮断し,救急通報後78分,搬送後46分で緊急手術を施行した.肝右葉の深在性の複雑な破裂損傷に対しperihepatic packing,右肝動脈,門脈右枝結紮術を施行,集中治療室へ入室したが受傷後約15時間で死亡した.

本研究の目的は, 運動部と文化部を区分して捉え, 部活動への積極性に注目しながら, (1) 部活動への参加が学校生活の諸領域, 学校への心理社会的適応とポジティブな関係にあるのか, (2) 対人関係領域の心理社会的適応への影響が部活動への参加状況によって異なるのか, について検討することであった。質問紙調査によって得られた中学生894名のデータから, 以下のことが明らかになった。まず, 部活動に積極的な生徒は全体的に部活動に所属していない生徒に比べ, 学校生活の諸領域や心理的適応の得点が高くなっていた。一方で, 部活動に積極的でない生徒は全体的に学校生活の諸領域や心理的適応の得点が無所属の生徒よりも高いという結果は得られなかった。また, 運動部の生徒は反社会的傾向が高いことが明らかになった。対人関係領域が心理社会的適応に与える影響については, 「クラスへの意識」「他学年との関係」に関しては部活動の参加状況によって影響の仕方に違いがなかったが, 「友人関係」「教師との関係」について違いがみられた。これらの知見をもとに, 学校生活における部活動のポジティブ・ネガティブな面について議論がなされた。

When researchers analyze data from an experiment with multiple experimental stimuli, they tend to aggregate responses to the experimental stimuli before performing a statistical test (e.g., t-test, analysis of variance). This common practice, however, ignores sampling errors of experimental stimuli, resulting in a substantial increase in Type-1 error rate. This article reviews the relevant literature and provides conceptual explanations about the mechanisms underlying the inflation of Type-1 error rate. The article also illustrates how linear mixed-effects model with random-stimulus effects can address the issue, with the emphasis on the correct model specification when using linear mixed-effects model.

In this paper I will first introduce Bourdieu’s idea of field, a network, or configuration, of objective relations between positions. Then I will show how it integrates theory and empirical research. In the history of Sociology, the relationship between theory and empirical research has been a grand theme, and Bourdieu was committed to integrating the two throughout his career. I will also examine the work of Blumer, an important predecessor to Bourdieu. While both his “sensitizing concept” and his “definitive concept” have limits, Bourdieu’s “open concepts” which include habitus, capital and field have more possibilities and significances than Blumer’s. The field is a social sphere which has a limit around itself and each has its own rules within. For Bourdieu, the field is considered together with habitus and capital, and also as a part of his theory of practice. The concept of field enables us to analyze social phenomena for which we have lacked a theoretical framework. We can also use the concept of field to relate and integrate differentempirical research. One example can be found in the study of social difference. Bourdieu’s sociology makes sense in combination with the works of other sociologists because it owes so much to them. We should ask the question “Bourdieu and what else?” rather than think in terms of a dichotomy such as “Bourdieu or not.” This will lead to a productive discussion.

Encouraged by etiquette books of the time, the wearing of white linen undergarments (linge ) became an essential part of one's grooming (propreté ) in France from the 17th century onwards. This paper discusses techniques of blanchisseries de toile (cloth bleacheries) which supported this trend in white undergarments by referring largely to the Encyclopédie of Diderot and d'Alembert to gain insight. Bleaching methods varied according to region, and techniques such as the Irish method, Dutch method and Flemish method existed. The Encyclopédie mentions a blanchisserie in Senlis in northeastern Paris where the process was divided into five steps conducted along the river in five separate workshops: the watermill, washhouse (buerie ), scrubbing house (frottoir ), bleaching house (laiterie ) where milk was used as a whitener, and the finishing house (ployerie ). All of these labor-intensive processes were were done in sequence by different craftspersons. Afterwards the white cloth was wholesaled to linen shops (lingères ) where it was fashioned into accessories or decorative trimmings for clothing before it was offered for sale.

„Die vielen Preise für literarisches Schaffen, die heute in der ganzen gebildeten Welt verliehen werden, bezeugen den Glauben der Oeffentlichkeit, Schriftstellern etwas schuldig zu sein.“ – Emil Staigers Rede über Literatur und Oeffentlichkeit, die er 1966 anlässlich der Entgegennahme des Literaturpreises der Stadt Zürich hielt, bezeugte ironischerweise das Gewicht dieses „Glauben[s] der Oeffentlichkeit“, als sie mit der reaktionären Kritik an der Gegenwartsliteratur den „Zürcher Literaturstreit“ auslöste, in dessen Folge der Nimbus des Kritikers Staiger allmählich verblassen sollte. Solange sie veröffentlicht wird, kann Literatur nicht unabhängig von der Öffentlichkeit sein, die aber nicht uneingeschränkt mit der Leserschaft gleichgesetzt werden darf. Während letztere sich für den vom Autor geschriebenen Text interessiert, will erstere die Stimme des Autors hören. In diesem Sinne sind die heute in Deutschland veranstalteten Lesungen und Poetikvorlesungen als Teil der literarischen Öffentlichkeit anzusehen, in der sich der Austausch zwischen dem realen Autor und der Öffentlichkeit verwirklichen lässt. Scheinbar gleichgültig gegenüber den Tendenzen postmoderner Literaturtheorie wie der „Tod des Autors“ oder die „Logozentrismus-Kritik“ nimmt in der Öffentlichkeit die Präsenz des Autors immer mehr zu. Eine solche Vorstellung von Öffentlichkeit hat aber ihre Grenzen, die offensichtlich werden, wenn man sich einem Autor wie Thomas Melle zuwendet, der wegen seiner bipolaren Störung schon mit dem Betreten des öffentlichen Raums, wie er sagt, „überfordert“ sei. Weil er über die von Habermas vorausgesetzte „kommunikative Rationalität“ nicht verfügt, steht Melle unvermeidlich „alleine in der Ecke“, wenn er aus der Öffentlichkeit nicht gänzlich ausgeschlossen ist. Sein jüngstes autobiographisches Werk Die Welt im Rücken (2016), in dem der Autor seine manisch-depressive Erkrankung zum ersten Mal öffentlich machte, lässt sich – so die These – als ein Vorhaben lesen, gewissermaßen in der „Ecke“ der Öffentlichkeit eine „alternative Öffentlichkeit“ bzw. „Gegenöffentlichkeit“ zu konstituieren. Ausführlich rekapituliert wird in diesem Buch jeder dreiste und manchmal auch skandalöse Auftritt des Autors in den öffentlichen Veranstaltungen, was nicht nur sein public image als Schriftsteller schädigte, sondern ihn darüber hinaus zu einer „Gestalt aus Gerüchten und Geschichten“ machte. This report describes how Emperor Meiji's costume changed from the end of the Edo Period to the beginning of the Meiji Era. When he lived in Kyoto, he wore a traditional costume called a Kugeshouzoku (nobility dress). However, after he moved to Tokyo, his costume changed drastically, because he was forced to westernize his way of life in all respects. In Kyoto, he showed his authority as Mikado with Three Sacred Treasures beside him. In Tokyo, everything was different. He had to represent his authority, not by those symbols but through his new dress: he had to give dignity and nobility to his military uniforms. Emperor Meiji's uniforms were henceforth decorated with epaulets, gold strings, and gorgeous chrysanthemum-pattern embroidery. This is clearly evident in the “Goyoudoroku” receipt lists of purchases by the Imperial Family owned by the Imperial Household Agency.

Field surveys were conducted in bedrooms to investigate the relationship between the environment and sleep quality. Sleep efficiency was relatively low when the average CO2 gas concentration at sleep was low which may be due to the high noise level. The percentage of wake-after-sleep-onset was the lowest under thermally neutral.

In the process of presenting his theory of conversational implicature, Paul Grice (1975) segmented cases of conversational implicature into three groups: Group A, where no maxims are violated; Group B, where the violation of a maxim is to be explained by the supposition of a clash with another maxim; and Group C, which involves the exploitation of a maxim. Yukiko Kawaguchi, however, claimed in her 2001 article that this categorization is ill-grounded. This paper proposes, in opposition to Kawaguchi, an interpretation of Grice’s theory of conversational implicature which accords with his treatment of conversational implicature and provides reasonable evidence in support of his categorization of it.

腸内細菌叢は様々な生理機能や病態形成において重要な役割を果たしているが,脳機能に対する影響については明らかではない.近年,いくつかの研究グループより腸内細菌は宿主のストレス応答や行動特性に影響することが示されている.本稿では,筆者らの人工菌叢マウスを用いた実験結果を元に,本研究領域の現状と最近の進展について概説した.

メボソムシクイPhylloscopus borealis (Blasius 1858) は,これまで多くの研究者によって複数の亜種を含む多形種とされてきたが,近年分類が見直され,3つの独立種に分割された.すなわち,コムシクイPhylloscoups borealis,オオムシクイ P. examinandus,メボソムシクイ P. xanthodryasである.この3種は,DNAの配列と音声形質には明瞭な違いがあるが,形態形質についてはその差異が僅かなため,野外においてはしばしば種の識別が困難な場合が多い.これまで,繁殖雄については著者らによって開発された判別分析を用いた判別法があったが,雌を含めた種の判別方法は確立されていなかった.本論文では計測値を用いて,メボソムシクイ上種3種を雌雄にかかわらず識別する方法を解説する.この識別方法が,野外,特に標識調査においてメボソムシクイ上種の識別マニュアルとして役に立つことを願う.

A spring washer is widely used as a method for preventing loosening. However, experimental results presented by Sakai and Yamamoto et al., show that the performance of a spring washer as a loosening prevention mechanism is at best equal to that of a washer-less joint, if not worse. In this paper we analyzed loosening under shear loading and as a result were able to explain the mechanism that accelerates loosening in the framework of the three-dimensional finite element method (FEM). A spring washer causes non-uniformity of contact pressure at the washer interfaces, because of its asymmetric shape. When a bolted joint with a spring washer is subjected to shear loading, sticking area on the contact surfaces of the spring washer is limited to two corner points before the bearing surface undergoes gross slip. One of these points is on the upper surface of the spring washer and the other is on the lower surface. In this situation the nut rotation around these sticking points results in drastic loosening. We also conducted comparative simulation with Sakai's experimental results. Compared with experimental results, the bolted joint with the spring washer is easy to loosen according to the simulation results. It is believed that the difference comes from the spring washer's edge cutting into the contact surface of the nut, something not included in this simulation.
