The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of two types of medication administration-assisting food. The subjects were 30 caregivers of children from one to eight years old hospitalized in the pediatrics unit of a university hospital, and 30 nurses caring for them. The caregivers gave medications to their children using two types of administration-assisting food, “chocolate” and “jelly”. A questionnaire was prepared to investigate the efficacy of the administration-assisting food, and the caregivers and nurses responded to the questionnaire after the medication was given. The questionnaire data included many positive responses regarding the administration-assisting food, demonstrating its efficacy. The caregivers of children aged ≥4 years responded that the “chocolate” type was more effective than the “jelly” type in administering medications. There also tended to be a positive opinion of the “chocolate” among the nurses of children aged ≥4 years. However, the opinion of the “chocolate” and “jelly” were equivalent among the nurses of children aged <4 years. The reasons for these results were thought to be that the children were at an age when their sense of taste was developing and changing, plus correlations with past experience of the food and differences in the properties of the administration-assisting food. Easiness of swallowing of administration-assisting foods may be important for children whose taste is underdeveloped. However, the taste of administration-assisting foods may be important for children with taste development. Selecting administration-assisting foods based on these factors may be useful for the smooth administration of medication.

Objectives: The aim of this investigation was to assess the use of isometric strength testing as a determinant of sprint and change of direction performance in collegiate athletes. Design and Methods: Fourteen male collegiate athletes (mean ± SD; age = 21 ± 2.4 years; height =176 ± 9.0 cm; body mass = 72.8 ± 9.4 kg) participated in the study. Maximal strength was assessed via an isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP). Isometric mid-thigh pull testing involved trials with peak force (IPF), maximum rate of force development (mRFD), impulse at 100 ms (IP 100) and 300 ms (IP 300) determined. Sprint and COD performance was measured using 5- and 20-m sprint performance, and a modified 505 test. Relationships between variables (IMTP, sprint and COD) were analysed using Pearson’s product – moment correlation. Results: Results suggest that IP 300 displayed the strongest relationships with 5- and 20-m sprint performance (r = −0.51 and −0.54, respectively). The results demonstrate maximum force production measures during IMTP correlate to sprint and COD ability in collegiate athletes. Conclusion: Isometric mid-thigh pull force-time measures are related to athletic performance (acceleration and sprinting), and thus are recommended for use in athlete monitoring and assessment.

本発表では回帰分析におけるモデルの精度およびモデルの適用範囲を議論の対象とする。一般的にはモデルのオーバーフィッティングを避けるようにしてモデルは構築される。しかしモデルがオーバーフィットした場合、もちろんそのモデルの適用範囲は狭くなるが、適用範囲内であれば精度良く予測可能なモデルといえる。今回は水溶解度データを使用してモデルの適用範囲を考慮に入れたモデルの性能の比較を行った。非線形の回帰モデルを構築する手法であるsupport vector regressionのハイパーパラメータを変化させてモデルを構築し、それぞれ予測性能を評価するとともにモデルの適用範囲を設定した。モデルの適用範囲はデータ密度に基づくものである。解析の結果、モデルのオーバーフィッティング自体が問題ではなく、オーバーフィットしたモデルでも適切にモデルの適用範囲を設定することでその範囲内であれば精度良く予測可能であることを示した。

本研究では, カメラ付き携帯電話を利用した協調学習支援システムを開発し, その授業実践への利用可能性を評価した.本システムは, カメラ付き携帯電話で撮影された写真を随時自動的にウェブに掲載・公開するとともに, 検索・編集を可能にするものである.小学校1年生及び現職教員を対象とした評価実験における質問紙調査の結果, 小学校1年生において本システムの操作が可能であるとともに, 本システムを利用した学習活動への興味が高いことなどがわかった.現職教員からも小学生と同様に肯定的な評価を得ることができた.また, 現職教員の自由記述の回答からは, 通信コストなどのいくつかの問題点が指摘されたものの, 本システムの授業実践への有効性として, 簡便性, 情報共有とコミュニケーションの活性化などが示唆された.

本研究では, ゴルフショットにおける再現性の指標として身体負荷量を提案し, 飛距離と再現性を同時に満たすためのゴルフシャフトの最適設計を試みた. 飛距離の指標となるヘッドスピードの算出には有限要素法, 再現性の指標となる身体負荷量の算出にはマルチボディダイナミクスによる逆動力学解析を用いた. 身体負荷量は, 閾値を考慮した上半身が発揮する関節トルクの総量と定義した. 最適化計算時には, 計算負荷を考慮して応答曲面法を用いた. パレート解より, ヘッドスピードを重視した場合, 身体負荷量を重視した場合それぞれの最適ゴルフシャフト及びそのときの動作が得られた. ヘッドスピードを重視した場合の最適シャフトを作成し実証実験を行った. コントロールシャフトと比較して, 飛距離が平均8yds, 再現性の評価項目とした左右方向における弾道のバラつきが平均16yds改善された.

This study investigated comprehension processes of Japanese sentences which included an adjective-noun phrase. Specifically, we examined whether evaluation of a consistent semantic relation between an adjective and a noun in a sentence of reading material was suspended until the argument structure of the sentence was constructed. Twenty-three participants read two types of sentences: acceptable sentences that contained a plausible adjective-noun phrase, and unacceptable sentences that contained an implausible adjective-noun phrase. In comparison with the acceptable sentences, phrase-by-phrase reading time for the unacceptable sentences was prolonged not only at the position of adjective-noun phrase but also at the position of the verb that constructed the propositional representation of the sentence. This result suggests that evaluation of a semantic relation of an adjective-noun phrase is postponed until the coherent argument structure is constructed.

This study investigated the forming process of the sentence semantic representation. Fujiki and Chujo (2005) consider it the integration process of schemata. Their model assumed that the integration occurred when encountering syntactic head words of phrases, and that the schemata of the constituents except the head were integrated into the head schema. However, their model could explain only two types of integration, so this study extended the model including the process of comparison and alignment for schemata. To test the validity of this extended model, we compared sentences including acceptable noun phrases with sentences including unacceptable noun phrase. As the result of the measuring the reading time of those noun phrases and judgment time of the acceptability of those sentences, the semantic processes of these sentences changed depending on the load of sentence processing. We proposed that the model would change its behavior as the amount of the available resources changed

本研究の目的は,各車両パラメータ,およびパラメータ間の相互関係がロール・平面連成運動に及ぼす影響を明らかにすることである.ロールと平面運動が連成する3 自由度モデルと近似モデル(平面モデル,断面モデル,単純ロールモデル)の特性根を対比して解析することにより,各車両パラメータが連成運動に及ぼす影響を示し,単純ロールモデルと平面モデルの固有振動数比が連成運動に支配的な影響を及ぼす指標であることを導いた.加えて,慣性主軸傾角とロール軸傾角の操舵応答特性に及ぼす影響の相違点と類似点,およびその由来を明らかにした.

わんぱーくこうちアニマルランドは高知市直営の公立動物園で,コンパクトなつくりの都市型施設である。当園は決して大きな動物園とは言えないが,その分地域に根ざした動物園として,開園以来動物の展示および園内外における野生動物の調査研究を通して高知市および県内における地域の動物の保全とその情報の集積と発信,そして市民の動物に対する正しい理解への寄与に努めてきた。今回はこれらのうち高知市および県内という地域に絞り込んで,これまで当園において,また当園が協力して行ってきた園内外における調査研究事例として希少動物の生息調査および園内における繁殖成功例,傷病保護鳥獣を用いた感染症モニタリングの症例,またそれらの市民への還元例として公共事業における保護事例や環境教育的事例について紹介する。

The greedy algorithm is one of solution methods for knapsack problem. Although this algorithm does not necessarily obtain the optimal solution, it can obtain a good solution in short time. We consider this algorithm is very effective at judging the importance of each item.In this paper, we propose a new genetic algorithm for solving a knapsack problem. The algorithm can adjust a search area in consideration of the stability of each item which can obtain from the greedy algorithm. Moreover, we apply the proposed method to a multi-objective problem and a large-scale problem, and test the effectiveness.

After the deregulation of air transport in United States and liberalization in Europe, papers on this theme have been accumulated in the field of transport geography which uses quantitative methods in United States and Europe while there are few socio-economic studies from that viewpoint. Socio-economic transport geography tends to have an interest in historical processes of transport development and little in the current transport problems especially in Japan. Socio-economic studies, however, examine the system of transport facilities comprehensively, which will contribute to practical analysis and criticism of current transport problems.The purpose of this paper is to examine the case of the rapid expansion of the direct bus network connecting Haneda Airport with its hinterland since the latter half of the 1990s. This paper also examines the other social background of this phenomenon, considering the role of bus company in making the bus routes between Haneda Airport and its hinterland, impact of the deregulation of air and bus transport, changing use of aircraft, and the bus share in airport-access market. The data were mainly collected through interviews with the personnel of bus companies in charge of planning bus route to Haneda Airport. The main findings of this paper are summarized as follows:1. Almost all the bus routes between Haneda Airport and its hinterland are managed by two airport bus companies (Keihin Electric Express Railway Co., Ltd., and Airport Transport Service Co., Ltd.), and 25 local bus companies, each of which has its own service area. Therefore the airport bus companies are concerned with all bus routes and have a lot of information on them. When the local bus companies plan to extend their bus routes into Haneda Airport, the airport side supplies accumulated know-how to run an airport-access bus with the local bus side. This cooperated-route-management-system enables a sudden increase in bus route.2. Until the first half of the 1990s, bus stops were arranged only in the Tokyo Bay area and Central Tokyo, which is near Haneda Airport. But the hinterland greatly expanded in 1998, reaching 100km away from Haneda Airport. Since these routes were profitable, the airport bus companies began to develop the bus route to Haneda Airport positively. Therefore the local bus companies have become so easy to participate in the airport-access bus that 13 routes were formed in 2000. After 2001, new routes have extended into areas where market size is smaller or road accessibility is worse, and 49 bus routes to Haneda Airport have been formed before December, 2002.3. The number of air passengers using Haneda Airport has increased from 31 million persons in 1988 to 54.8 million in 2000 and is estimated to be increasing in the future. This trend has brought an increase in airport-access bus passengers, too, and is one of the factors causing the expansion of the direct bus network connecting Haneda Airport with its hinterland.4. Haneda Airport Offshore Expansion Project has influences on the increase of passengers using Haneda Airport indirectly and on airport-access bus at three viewpoints. The number of bus stops has increased 5 to 15; many buses can be operated. Since highway system is improved, buses can arrive at Haneda Airport on time, which makes air passengers take a bus confidently. The pollution issues such as the noise and vibration are refined; aircraft can take off and land on Haneda Airport all day long. In the early morning, however, airport-access trains are not available in many areas in Haneda Airport hinterland while buses are available even in the areas more 100km away from Haneda Airport. This fact suggests that the bus companies could make buses bound for Haneda Airport run selectively in the early morning for their profit; on the other hand, this promotes the public benefit because the completion of airport-access is demanded now.
