Objectives : It is unclear whether the increased center of mass lateral shift during gait induced by leg length difference induces lateral instability. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of leg length discrepancy (LLD) on dynamic gait stability and the compensatory kinematic and dynamic strategies for this effect by using the extrapolated center of mass and margin of stability.Methods : Nineteen healthy male participants walked without insoles (no LLD condition; 0 cm) and with added insoles (LLD condition; 3 cm). Kinematic and kinetic data were analyzed using a three-dimensional motion analyzer and force plates; the values were compared between the two conditions. Correlation analysis was performed on the parameters and the margin of stability and significant changes were identified.Results: Compared with the no-LLD condition, in the LLD condition, lateral stability was maintained on both the short leg side and the long leg side. Nonetheless, changes in joint angles and muscle activity on the frontal plane were observed on the short leg side, although the correlations were not significant. On the long leg side, a moderate negative correlation was found between the lateral flexion angle of the trunk and the margin of stability (r=–0.56, P=0.011).Conclusions: The short leg side may compensate for lateral stability by complex changes in joint angles and muscle activity, and the long leg side may compensate for lateral stability by actively adjusting the trunk lateral flexion angle.

本研究は,都道府県ごとの体力・運動能力テストにおける平均点と「貧困」に関わる指標を用い,子どもの貧困と体力の関係性を小中学生男女対象に評価した. その結果,「ひとり親世帯で育つ子どもの割合」と「教育扶助を受ける世帯で育つ子どもの割合」の二つの項目と体力テスト平均点の間に負の相関関係が認められた。雇用者年間給与と体力・運動能力テストにおける平均点の間には小学生女子以外では相関関係が認められなかった。ひとり親世帯に住む子どもの割合と毎日の朝食の間に負の相関関係が認められた。教育扶助を受ける世帯で育つ子どもの割合と運動,睡眠,朝食に関わる項目の間に負相関が認められた。親の年収が直接子どもの体力に影響を与えないが,ひとり親世帯で育つ場合や教育扶助を受けなくてはならないほど世帯所得がひっ迫している家庭に育つ子どもは体力が低いことが本研究により明らかとなった。

多国間統計分析と事例研究を組み合わせる実証分析は,比較政治学で広く実践され,途上国の政治分析でも数多くみられる。本稿では,この混合手法の(1)方法論的意義と問題点,(2)採用傾向,(3)問題への処方箋に焦点を当て,比較政治学における同手法を検討する。まず,統計分析と事例研究の混合を「入れ子分析」として定式化したLieberman[2005]以後に明らかになった問題を整理し,同手法にいかなる課題が残されているか論じる。次に,政治学主要誌とモノグラフで,多国間統計分析と国内事例研究を併用した実証分析の採用頻度がどう変遷してきたのか,他の分析手法や異なる混合手法と比較しつつ検討する。その結果,「入れ子分析」が時系列的に増え,特にモノグラフでの影響力が大きいことがわかった。最後に,「入れ子分析」の問題点は,統計的因果推論やビッグ・データの手法を援用することで緩和しうることを,最近の研究例を交えながら論じる。

YouTube をはじめとした動画共有サイトでは様々なカテゴリがある.また,CG 技術の発達により,配信者は顔出しをせずに 2D CG または 3D CG のアバタを利用して配信を行うことが可能となっている.アバタを利用した配信者,すなわち VTuber は CG 技術の発達とともに活動の幅が広がっており,顔を出して配信している YouTuber と遜色がなくなってきている.配信者はアバタを利用するかどうかを自由に選択することができる一方で,動画カテゴリ別においてアバタを用いた配信が視聴者にとって印象が良いのかどうかについてはこれまでほとんど調査されてきていない.そこで本論文では,アバタを利用した動画と利用していない顔出しの動画を用意し,視聴者にとってどれほど影響があるのかを調査した.比較実験を行い,動画カテゴリによってアバタを利用しないほうが視聴者にとって印象が良いものもあれば,特に印象に差が無いものもあることを確認した.

By comparing germ-free mice and specific pathogen-free mice, we recently demonstrated that the presence of gut commensals upregulates microRNA-200 family members in lamina propria leukocytes (LPL) of the murine large intestine. The present study tested whether the consumption of 1-kestose (KES), an indigestible oligosaccharide that alters gut microbiota composition, influences the microRNA expression in the LPL. Supplementation of KES (4%) in drinking water for 2 wk increased the levels of miR-182-5p, -205-5p, -290a-5p, miR-200 family members (miR-141-3p, -200a-3p, -200b-3p, -200c-3p, and -429-3p) as well as miR-192/215 family members (miR-192-5p, -194-5p, and -215-5p) as determined by microarray analysis in large intestinal LPL of C57BL/6 mice. Quantitative reverse transcription-PCR further confirmed the increase in miR-192-5p, -194-5p, -200a-3p, -200b-3p, -200c-3p, -205-5p, and 215-5p. KES consumption significantly increased Bifidobacterium pseudolongum in the cecal contents. In a separate experiment, intragastric administration of B. pseudolongum (109 CFU/d) for 7 d increased the levels of miR-182-5p, -194-5p, and -200a-3p and tended to increase the levels of miR-200b-3p, -215-5p, and -429-3p. These results suggest that dietary KES influences miRNA expression in the large intestinal LPL, which may be associated with the increased population of B. pseudolongum.

This paper attempts to identify which side of the road a bicycle is currently riding on using a common camera for realizing an advanced bicycle navigation system and bicycle riding safety support system. To identify the roadway area, the proposed method performs semantic segmentation on a front camera image captured by a bicycle drive recorder or smartphone. If the roadway area extends from the center of the image to the right, the bicyclist is riding on the left side of the roadway (i.e., the correct riding position in Japan). In contrast, if the roadway area extends to the left, the bicyclist is on the right side of the roadway (i.e., the incorrect riding position in Japan). We evaluated the accuracy of the proposed method on various road widths with different traffic volumes using video captured by riding bicycles in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, and Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. High accuracy (>80%) was achieved for any combination of the segmentation model, riding side identification method, and experimental conditions. Given these results, we believe that we have realized an effective image segmentation-based method to identify which side of the roadway a bicycle riding is on.

The current research targeted Japanese high school EFL students (N = 296) to examine the causal relationships among vocabulary learning strategies (VLSs), self-efficacy, self-regulating capacity in vocabulary learning (SRCvoc), and vocabulary size gains. To this end, we used structural equation modeling (SEM) and formulated three hypotheses for the structural model: (1) SRCvoc promotes VLS use and subsequent vocabulary size gains; (2) self-efficacy fostered by SRCvoc reinforces further VLS use; and (3) success in vocabulary size acquisition is associated with self-efficacy increase. The results of the SEM support the structural model and its three hypotheses for the students in this study. However, the weak relationships found among the four variables were in contrast to those of prior studies targeting students in contexts other than Japanese high schools. By comparing the results of previous and current research, we consider the possibility of influences of different variables on vocabulary learning in different learning environments.

本稿では,日本刀表面の表面粗さや反射モデルパラメータなどの反射特性を精密に推定するための手法を提案する.日本刀表面の反射特性を推定するために,日本刀表面の光反射を計測するシステムを開発する.このシステムは,光源システム,回転アーム,カメラシステムから構成されている.日本刀表面の反射特性を知ることは,反射光分布と反射モデルとのフィッティング問題に帰着する.つまり,反射光の計測データから光反射モデルの未知パラメータを推定することにより日本刀の反射特性を定量化する.

Peak current-mode control is a control algorithm for switched-mode power supplies (SMPSs) that is characterized by high-speed response and high-stability. Currently, a method of implementing peak current-mode control in a digital controller has been proposed however, there is a limit to increasing the switching frequency. Therefore, in a previous study, we proposed a method that enables high-frequency switching by applying a control method called multi-cycle control, which applies the same ON duty ratio over multiple switching cycles to the existing method. Furthermore, in peak current-mode control, an unstable phenomenon called subharmonic oscillation occurs, which is problematic. Generally, this problem is solved by slope compensation however, it cannot be applied to multi-cycle control. Therefore, in previous work, we derived the condition to suppress subharmonic oscillation by designing parameters of multi-cycle control. In this study, we verified the above-mentioned conditions using a real-circuit.

イソアイナメ属Lotellaは,上顎外側に1列の大きな歯があり,小さな歯からなる内側の歯帯と分離し,発光器が無い.チゴダラ属Physiculusの上顎歯は大きさが一様(大小の歯が分離しない)で,腹部発光器が有る。ホソダラはイソアイナメ属に移され,南支那海まで分布域が拡大された。イソアイナメムphycis(属の模式種)と,ホソダラL.tosaensisの簡単な記載を行った.エゾイソアイナメPhysiculus maxmowicziはチゴダラ属に移され,多分チゴダラP.japonicusのJunior synonymである.
