集光型太陽熱発電(CSP)は,反射鏡で集光した太陽光をレシーバで熱へと変換し,一般には蒸気タービンを回して発電する技術である。本システムでは,蓄熱システムやボイラを組み合わせることにより,太陽が照っていない時間帯にも比較的低コストの発電が可能である。したがって,CSPは,電力需要曲線に合わせた電力供給が可能であり,ディスパッチャビリティが高い発電システムである。CSPでは太陽から直接地表に到達する直達光のみ利用できることから,中東・北アフリカ,米国南西部などサンベルトと呼ばれる地域で高効率の発電が可能であり,発電ポテンシャルも膨大である。CSPで得た電力を離れた地域で利用するため,北アフリカで発電した電力を高圧直流送電でEU諸国に送るデザーテック計画も進行している。

〔目的〕自然立位の脊柱アライメントと肩甲骨位置と肩甲上腕関節外転可動域の関係について検証した.〔対象〕運動器障害のない成人男性40名(25±5歳)とした.〔方法〕測定肢位は自然立位とし,頸部屈曲角,円背指数,骨盤傾斜角,胸郭周径,肩甲骨位置,肩甲上腕関節外転可動域を測定した.統計解析として,重回帰分析で脊柱アライメント,肩甲骨位置,肩甲上腕関節外転可動域の関連性を検討した.〔結果〕胸椎後弯と胸郭周径,肩甲骨位置に特に高い関連性があった.〔結論〕骨盤前傾,腰椎前弯・胸椎後弯・胸郭周径の増大による肩甲骨の外転・上方回旋が示唆された.肩甲骨は胸郭上にあるため,胸椎弯曲・胸郭形状から大きな影響を受けると考えられる.

On Religiousness of Modern Art This article discusses a religious aspect of art based on Schelling’s thesis that an art work is an unconscious identity of the ideal and the real, while critically considering the meaning of the recent artistic movement. The main character of modern art is relativity. Its supporters claim that everything could be an art work. However, from the philosophy of art perspective it must represent some idea, and romantic philosophers even sought the absolute meaning of art. For Schopenhauer, art was liberation from existence, and for Nietzsche reconciliation with it. Both recognize the essence of the world in art, which is not an individual fantasy but an ultimate reality. The following discussion regards the Apollonian art as reality of reason in relation to nature and the Dionysian art as that of god in relation to mythology. Thereby, Schelling’s philosophy of nature and that of mythology offer a deep insight into the identity of being and consciousness. It seems that modern art, whose tendency is thoroughly nihilistic, is far away from such an idea, but the article concludes that it has a strong possibility of the revelation.

In this work, we present a comparison of the mechanical properties of 3D printed structures with respect to the printing orientation for 3D gel printer "SWIM-ER" and FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printer with a result that the fracture surface of the 3D modeled object of the gel does not break along the stacked line, and the maximum stress at that time is the breaking strength. Also, the fracture surface of the 3D model of the ABS resin has broken along the stacked line other than 0 degrees, and the maximum stress at that time is the peel strength. The yield point can be observed at the 0 degree specimen, the maximum stress at that time is tensile strength. Moreover, while comparing both materials, we observed that the dependency in the stacking direction is weak in the 3D model of the gel, strong in the 3D modeled material of the ABS resin, and the dependence on the stacking direction is strongly influenced by the way of bonding the materials in stacking.

医学部4年生の基本的臨床技能実習時に実施するOSCEと筆記試験, 5年生の臨床実習終了時に実施するOSCEと筆記試験, 6年生に実施する卒業試験を各1年ごとすべて受験した96名の医学部学生を対象に各学年次の成績に関する解析を行い, 卒業できた6年生と留年した学生間, および医師国家試験合格者と不合格者間の各年次における試験の合計点の平均値の比較検討, 卒業と国家試験への各学年試験成績の関連性の検討も行った. 各学年次試験成績は各学年間で有意な正の相関を示した. 卒業できた6年生と卒業できなかった学生間の各学年次試験成績の平均値は卒業生の方が卒業できなかった学生群に比較して有意に高い点数であった. また, 国家試験合格者群と不合格者群との各学年次試験成績の比較では, 各年次共に国家試験合格者群の方が高い点数であり, 6年次成績では有意差が見られた. これらの結果より, 医学部4年生に実施する基本的臨床技能実習と5年生の臨床実習が6年生の卒業試験成績に繋がり, ひいてはその成績が医師国家試験の結果に影響を及ぼすことが示唆された.

Previous study reported that baseball pitchers had a decreased shoulder internal rotation (IR) range of motion after pitching. However, whether the decreased range of motion associated with pitching is caused by tightness of the posterior shoulder has not been clarified yet. The joint stiffness in the passive torque can be compared with posterior shoulder tightness before and after pitching. Hence, this study aimed to compare shoulder IR stiffness based on passive torque before and after pitching in baseball pitcher. Eleven health male collage baseball pitchers were recruited. Passive torque during IR (max IR, peak torque and stiffness) of dominant and non-dominant arms was measured using an isokinetic dynamometer. Measurements were taken before, after, and post 24 hours after pitching (105 pitches). It was observed that after pitching, max IR and peak torque were significantly decreased compared to those before pitching. However, there was no difference in the stiffness of passive torque among three measurements. In conclusion, healthy college baseball pitchers have a decreased IR range of motion after pitching. However, this result is not due to posterior shoulder tissue tightness, but because of altered stretch tolerance.

Charles Dickens (1812-70) and Catherine, his wife, sailed from Liverpool on 4 January on board the steamship Britannia. For comfort during their absence of six months, they took with them Catherine’s maid, the ever-reliable Anne Brown, and a delightful sketch of the children by Maclise which was given pride of place in their room wherever they stayed. After a wretched voyage during which they were all extremely seasick, they arrived in Boston to a tumultuous welcome. People lined the streets whenever he went out; they cheered him at the theatre, deluged him with messages of congratulation; they besieged the hotel. In Boston, Dickens formed warm friendships with a number of prominent Bostonians. Among them were the city’s mayor, Jonathan Chapman, several Harvard Professors, and the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-82). Dickens was fascinated by not only the Bostonians but also the city. He mentions University of Harvard as one of the sources of charm of Boston. The Perkins Institution and Massachusetts Asylum for the Blind made a deep impression on him. Dickens explains the institution by the description of Samuel Gridley Howe (1801-76), who is an philanthropist, an abolitionist, and a pioneer of measures to deal with blind and intellectually disabled person. The account which has been published by Dr. Howe, describes the rapid mental growth and improvement of Laura Bridgeman. Dickens’s impression about Boston seems to have a relationship to charity. At south Boston, several charitable institutions were clustered together. One of them, was the State Hospital for the insane; admirably conducted on those enlightened principles of conciliation and kindness. Dickens also mentions the transcendentalists, the group influenced by Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881), his friend. Transcendentalism is a philosophical movement that developed in the late 1820s and 1830s in the eastern United States. Transcendentalism emphasizes subjective intuition over objective empiricism. Dickens seems to feel an affinity with the transcendentalists. In Lowell he discovered that the factory girls were not ashamed to produce their own magazine, to subscribe to a circulating library, to play the piano. It was what Dickens had thought of the United States with hope and admiration. However, Dickens increasingly began to feel that everything had been pulled down. The first rifts appeared when he referred publicly to the Question of International Copyright. He, and indeed many other English writers, felt bitterly about this. He seems to avoid referring to it strongly. In New York, Dickens points out the filth and the wretchedness of the Five Points. In Philadelphia, he thinks that the system of the prison called Eastern Penitentiary is rigid, strict, and hopeless solitary confinement. In Washington, the two odious practices of chewing tobacco and expectorating displeased him. In Baltimore, he felt ashamed of slavery. What has to be noticed that Dickens appreciates the great Temperance Convention led by Theobald Mathew and the neighborly love by the Unitarian church, while he does not like the ascetism of the shakers of the Shaker Village although he recognizes their sincerity and fairness of trade. From the perspective of the memoires of the cities, Dickens reveals not only the good sides but also the bad sides of the cities and shows the nature of ideal cities and ideal Christianity.

本研究は、「偽」というマイナスのイメージから研究上の価値が低いと誤認されてきた「疑偽経典」を、豊かな思想を伝えるテキストととらえ直し、その思想作品としての価値を解明するとともに、それらが日本および東アジアの社会、文化に果たした役割を明らかにしようと企図するものである。本研究では、日本に仏教が土着していった様相を、疑偽経典の受容、作成、浸透に着目して考察し、そこから日本仏教の歴史と思想の特質を考究する。

蛍光眼底造影剤は,眼科領域では網脈絡膜疾患の診断,治療効果の判定に不可欠な検査である.今回,糖尿病性腎症にて血液透析中の44歳女性に対し眼底出血の疑いのため蛍光造影剤(フルオレサイト®静注500mg,以下一般名フルオレセインと記す)を使用した.造影後に透析を行った際,透析液排液ラインに造影剤の蛍光色が視認できたため,独自に作製したカラースケールを用いて廃液ラインの排液色の変化による造影剤除去動態を1週間経過観察した.結果,カラースケール値では,1日目開始時90,1日目終了時50,3日目開始時20,3日目終了時10,5日目開始時0,5日目終了時0であったが,5日目終了時500mL程度排液を集めると,僅かに色を確認することができた.

2019年末からの中国武漢での報告後、瞬く間に世界中に拡散した新型コロナウイルス感染症 (COVID-19)は、現在も収束することなく、2020年8月31日時点で全世界で2500万人以上が感染していると報告されている。COVID-19は、移植医療の在り方に大きな影響をもたらし、世界中の多くの移植施設で、生命に関わる臓器の移植を除き、生体移植を中心とした待機可能な移植は一時停止を余儀なくされた。ドナーからの伝播の可能性、院内感染の可能性、移植患者への感染対応など、様々な状況を想定し、院内のコンセンサスを得ることで、現状では多くの施設が移植医療の提供を再開した。しかし、安心安全な移植医療を提供するためには、COVID-19以前とは異なる、新しい移植医療の様式を実践していく必要がある。また、移植患者は免疫抑制剤を服用しており、ウイルス感染症に脆弱である一方、COVID-19は、感染後期での免疫抑制剤使用による重症化抑制も知られている。相反する病態を理解し、免疫抑制剤調整を含めた移植患者の管理を適切に行うことも重要である。これまでに得られたCOVID-19と移植医療に関する文献的報告をレビューし、新しい移植医療の様式について提言したい。

作業療法にて満足や楽しみといった肯定的な心理状態を考慮した支援を行うことが必要と考えられ,そのような心理状態を捉えた概念として「フロー理論」が挙げられる.今回,フロー理論を応用した作業療法に関する実践報告に関して文献レビューを実施した.結果として6論文が抽出され,それぞれの研究において,介入目的とした認知機能,高次脳機能のほか,フロー体験,健康関連QOLや主観的QOLの改善を認めた.今後は,作業療法/リハビリテーションにおける有効なアプローチの1つとして示されるよう,さらなる実践・研究が課題として挙げられた.

西洋近代に由来する人権思想の世界的な普及にもかかわらず、当の西洋においても、あるいは日本などの他のさまざまな地域においても、差別(人種差別だけでなく、いじめや戦争、 テロまでを含む)が依然としてなくならないのは、なぜだろうか。本研究では、これまで「聖なるもの」と「俗なるもの」の二分法で説明されてきた「宗教」と「社会」とのありかたの理解を、日本宗教史と世界諸地域の比較宗教史との学問の蓄積からあらたに問いなおし、現代社会における公共性の問題と結びつけて検討する。そのことで、公共空間における差別と聖化の仕組みがあきらかになり、より具体的な公共性のあり方についての議論が可能になることが期待される。
