Many recent studies have suggested that deficits in dietary-based omega-3 poly unsaturated fatty acids may make an etiological contribution to mood disorders and that supplementation with omega-3 poly unsaturated fatty acids may provide a treatment strategy (Hagg, 2003; Parker, Gibson, Brotchie, Rees, & Handzi-Pavlovic, 2006; Vaddadi, 2006). However, a few studies did examine the relationship between daily food intake and mood disorders. Thus, we surveyed students with regard to these relationships. Two hundred and forty eight university students completed the SDS and eighty item food appetite survey. Results showed that low-depression group tended to favor fish and deep yellow vegetables more than the high-depression group. These results suggest that a preference for fish and deep yellow vegetables relates to depression. Antioxidative effects of these foodstuffs may facilitate antidepressive effects of omega-3 poly unsaturated fatty acids.

東日本大震災による東京電力福島第一原子力発電所の事故から1年が経過した頃より、福島県の帰還困難区域内で飼育・維持されている黒毛和牛の皮膚に白斑がみられはじめ、放射線被ばくの影響が懸念されたことから、その原因究明のため調査・研究を行った。白斑は頭頚部、体幹部、四肢などほぼ全身で認められた。白斑の大きさは直径1cm程度であり、白斑部では被毛の白色化とともに皮膚が肌色に退色しているものもみられた。皮膚生検による組織学的検索では、病変部に一致してメラニン色素の減少・消失とメラノサイトの減数が認められた。本研究結果より本病変は尋常性白斑と診断され、原因はメラノサイトの減少と活性低下の可能性が示唆された。

在宅における歩行能力評価としての可能性を探ることを目的に,1.5 m,5 mおよび10 m歩行を分析し,その妥当性を検討した。対象は,理学療法を実施している入院患者40例(平均年齢70±12歳)で,快適および最大速度歩行中の1.5 m,5 m,10 mの各地点を通過した所要時間,歩数を計測し,歩行速度,歩行率,歩幅を比較した。その結果,快適および最大歩行ともに歩行距離による歩行速度,歩行率,歩幅の有意差は認めなかった。また,歩行速度,歩行率,歩幅ともに快適速度,最大速度条件において1.5 m歩行は5 m歩行,10 m歩行のそれぞれと有意に高い相関関係を認めた。以上より,1.5 mでの歩行測定は,5 m歩行および10 m歩行同様に歩行能力評価指標のひとつとして活用できる可能性があると考えられた。

本研究の目的は,統合失調症者にとって一般就労がどのような意味をもっているのかを明らかにすることである。対象は,一般就労している統合失調症者12名とし,個別の半構成的面接を行い,逐語録を内容分析した。分析の結果,統合失調症をもつ就労者である自分との対峙,一社会人になることへの促しの2つのカテゴリを抽出した。一般就労は,病気を抱える就労者である自分と向き合い,誇りの再獲得をもたらすものであった。

Asian dust is a phenomenon involving the long-range transport of atmospheric pollutants originating from the desert areas of China and Mongolia. In recent years, the health effects of Asian dust have raised public concerns. Numerous studies on the health effects of Asian dust have been published since the last review in 2010. Thus, a literature review was conducted to shed light on the latest epidemiologic findings. PubMed and Science Direct databases were used for the review of epidemiologic studies published between June 2009 and April 2018. We identified 53 epidemiologic studies. Mortality, ambulance transportation, hospitalization/medical examination, changes in symptomatic, functional, and examination findings, as well as birth outcomes have been reported as outcomes. When the outcomes were categorized by disease, the effects of Asian dust on respiratory, cardiovascular, and allergic diseases raised concerns. The common evidences of causation between Asian dust and these diseases were the consistency of findings and temporal sequence of association. As results of research on dose-response relationships have become available, and the possibility that the health effects of Asian dust may vary depending on its chemical composition has been pointed out, further research using the exposure level indicators of Asian dust or its chemical composition should be conducted. Furthermore, with focus on the crucial issue of reducing exposure, research related to prevention and raising awareness should be further promoted.

Environmental cleaning and disinfection plays an important role as a part of the standard precautions to prevent healthcare-associated infections, whereas hand hygiene is one of the most important strategies for breaking the chain of transmission. Cleaning and disinfection of high-touch areas in a health-care facility is emphasized. And wiping with an alcohol-saturated cloth which has features such as low corrosion and a wide range of antimicrobial activity is performed commonly for this purpose. Although alcohol provides immediate activity against enveloped viruses, its virucidal activity against certain non-enveloped viruses, including norovirus, is insufficient. We created a novel alcohol-based hand rub, MR06B7, which is safe for the skin, and is active against an extended spectrum of microorganisms including non-enveloped viruses. For environmental surface disinfection, a novel disinfectant MR13B15, which is based on MR06B7, has been developed. In vitro antimicrobial activity against a variety of pathogens, material compatibility, and simulated surface disinfection and decontamination efficacy of MR13B15 were investigated. According to the results, MR13B15 demonstrated potent bactericidal, fungicidal, mycobactericidal, and virucidal activity within a short contact time in addition to superior efficacy against non-enveloped viruses compared to ethanol for disinfection. Moreover, MR13B15 showed better material compatibility. Two simulation tests conducted for evaluating the disinfection and decontamination potency on environmental surfaces against feline calicivirus, a surrogate for norovirus, indicated that MR13B15 had superior efficacy for surface treatment compared to ethanol. These findings suggest that MR13B15, which satisfies most requirements of an environmental surface disinfectant, may contribute to accomplishing advanced standard precautions in preventing infections.

<p>認知矯正療法(NEAR)は,統合失調症における認知機能(記憶,注意,遂行機能など)の改善を目的とした認知リハビリテーションである。認知機能を使う各種の市販のゲームを行うゲームセッションと,メンバーで体験を共有するグループセッションで構成されている。NEARは,ゲームの実施に関して注目されること多いが,ゲームを通じて患者の内発的動機付けを高めることが重要な治療指針となっている。そこで本シンポジウムでは,NEARを中心とした認知機能リハビリテーションにおいて,内発的動機付けに着目して介入することの重要性を研究や実践の側面から議論したい。研究の側面からは内発的動機付けの脳機能メカニズムや成果との関連など,実践の側面からは介入上の工夫や他の治療を取り入れていく意義などについて考える。</p>

We have recently demonstrated that pathological changes leading to increased bone resorption by osteoclast activation are related to the induction of pain–like behavior in ovariectomized (OVX)mice. In addition,we have shown that the skeletal pain accompanying osteoporosis is possibly associated with the acidic microenvironment caused by osteoclast activation under a high bone turnover state. We, therefore, hypothesize that another osteoporosis model mouse might reveal the induction of pain–like behaviors in relation with osteoporotic changes. In this study, we demonstrated that regional osteoporosis of hind limbs induced pain–like behaviors using tailsuspended mice as another osteoporosis model.The hind limbs of tail–suspended mice were unloaded for 2 weeks, during which time the mice revealed significant regional osteoporotic changes in their hind limbs accompanied by osteoclast activation. In addition, these changes were significantly recovered by the resumption of weight bearing on the hind limbs for 4 weeks. Consistent with the pathological changes in the hind limbs, pain–like behaviors in the mice were induced by tail suspension and recovered by the resumption of weight bearing. Moreover, treatment with bisphosphonate significantly prevented the triggering of the regional osteoporosis and pain–like behaviors, and antagonists of the acid–sensing nociceptors, such as transient receptor potential channel vanilloid subfamily member 1 and acid–sensing ion channels, significantly improved the painlike behaviors in the tail–suspended mice.We, therefore, believe that pathologic changes of osteoporosis due to osteo clast activation might be a trigger for the pain–like behaviors in osteoporosis patients.

<p>藤原道長の卓絶した栄華を語る『栄花物語』は、道長やその一家に関わる行事儀式を語るに際し、女房装束を詳しく書き記す。装束による「ものの栄え」を御世の繁栄の象徴と重視しながらも、現実に為政者が直面していた装束の過差をめぐる問題をその叙述に取り込まれ、道長の極めた栄華と為政者の執政の理想性が、装束の政治的二面性によって描き出されるのである。『栄花物語』は女房と儀式が交差する「装束」を通して、為政者の政治を捉えている。</p>

セルフケア行為について慢性統合失調症患者に面接を行った。精神症状が落ち着いても日常的な会話の意味をとらえる困難さや、認知機能の低下、現実感覚の歪み、辛さ、不安がみられ、いざ退院準備をしようとすると、さまざまな提案に困難さを覚える。入院を継続している今は、病気の説明を受けることで疾患を受容し、自分なりに気分転換し、できることをし、代替を考えることにより、病気との付き合いを行っていた。
