本論文では, 1/f ゆらぎがもたらす自律神経活動への影響を明らかにするため, 超音波領域(40kHz)の正弦波をベースとして, 振幅に1/f ゆらぎを与えた場合と与えない場合の音源提示による自律神経活動の相違を検討する. その結果, 1/f ゆらぎを与えた場合と与えない場合で被験者のLF/HF 指標の値のばらつきに差があることを示す. これは, 1/f ゆらぎによって, 被験者の自律神経活動を制御できる可能性があることを意味する. 本研究により, 従来曖昧であった1/f ゆらぎ独自の効果を客観的事実によって証明できたと考えている.

ヒトスジシマカ成虫に対する殺虫剤による防除実地試験を東京の寺院の庭で2010年の夏に実施した.5%ペルメトリン,10%フェノトリン,7%エトフェンプロックス水性乳剤の50倍希釈液を背負式噴霧機によって50 ml/m2の量で草むら,植木,空地に噴霧した.スイーピング法,ドライアイストラップによる捕集密度の変化,配置した成虫の死亡率から効果を評価した.結果として,ペルメトリンでは約10日間,他の2剤では4~5日間は成虫飛来密度が0近くに減少した.その違いは,処理面積の違いに基づくものであろうと考えた.その後密度は緩やかな回復に向かったが,吸血シーズンの終了に伴い散布前のレベルにまで回復することはなかった.以上の結果から,処理面積を大きくすることで,感染症発生時の緊急的媒介蚊防圧にこの手法は充分に実用的効果があるだろうと結論した.

Osaka Gas Co., Ltd., jointly with NTT DATA Mathematical Systems Inc., has developed unit-commitment model for optimizing dispatch of power generation units. Main purpose of this development is to simulate the future world of electric power system in accordance with national energy policy aiming to introduce large amount of renewable energy as well as vitalized cross-border power exchange via PX market to enhance economically-efficient power system operation. The model incorporates not only constraints of supply-demand balance but also constraints of operating reserves, regulation reserves, maximum CO2-emissions, etc.

This study presented the available effects of Source Derivation (SD) method for detecting the focal EEG, from the model experiments which were compared the traditional monopolar derivation with SD method, and also from the clinical recording for the patients, Signal dipole and EEG noise dipole embeded in a spherical volume conducted covered with three layer shells corresponding to neural tissue, skull and scalp, were used for the model. The following conclusions were obtained. 1) It was proved by the model experiment that SD method was useful for the detection of focal signal dipole potential on cortical surface. 2) SD method was useful to detect the signal not only in the cortical surface but also in the deep cortical area, when the reference electrode angle of SD method was smaller to the active electrode (α=10°-20°), that is, the distance of electrodes on scalp surface was about 1.6-3.2cm. 3) SD method was applied to the patients with focal spikes. The localization of the focal spike was more clear than the traditional ear reference monopolar recording. S/N to back ground EEG also was improved very well. 4) Identification of the location generated of primary responses in somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) by electrical stimulation of median nerve was tried by using the SD method with intererectrode distance of 2cm, and consequently the central sulcus and cortical primary sensory area were identified from the phase-reversal of SEP on the scalp.

In Study 1, a web survey (n = 719) was conducted to develop the Afterlife Belief Scale (second person version). Factor analysis revealed that the scale had a five-factor structure: coexistence with the soul, heaven, reincarnation, integration into the Great Being, and memory/recording. All factors were related to the bereaved family’s sense of loss and other factors. In Study 2, a web survey was again conducted with Study 1 participants (n = 332) to examine the reliability of the scale and to further investigate its relationship to the bereaved family’s attitude toward autopsy and organ donation. Among the afterlife beliefs, coexistence with the soul was confirmed to be related to refusal of an autopsy and organ donation, and integration into the Great Being was related to acceptance of an organ donation. It was discussed that the Japanese emphasis on preserving the body of the deceased is related to their images of the afterlife.

In order to evaluate the role of renin-angiotensin system and sympathetic nerve system to maitain the blood pressure during regular hemodialysis (HD), we examined the level of plasma renin activity (PRA), plasma norepinephrine (PNE) and plasma epinephrine (PE) before and after regular HD in 17 patients. The cardiac performance of them was also examined before and after HD by echocardiographic examination. 10 patients (group 1) exhibited stable blood perssure during HD, while 7 patients (group 2) exhibited a fall (≥10 mmHg) in blood pressure during HD. PNE significantly increased after HD in group 1 (217±119 to 317±141 pg/ml, mean±SD, p<0.01), unchanged in group 2 (443±387 to 538±391 pg/ml). PE did not change after HD in both groups: 25.6±17.7 to 25.6±19.8 pg/ml in group 1, 39.7±33. 5 to 34.9 ±24.1 pg/ml in group 2, PRA significantly increased after HD in both groups : 4.01±2.95 to 7.43±4.95 ngAI/ml/hr in group 1, 5.13±6.76 to 8.33±8.97 ngAI/ml/hr in group 2, p<0, 05, for each. There was not significant difference between both groups in the changes of cardiac performance before and after HD. These data suggest that sympathetic nerve system may play a important role on the maintenance of blood pressure during HD.

In the present study, the subjective evaluation experiment for abstract 3D shapes was conducted as the first step of construction of a system that allows non-design-professional users to design 3D shapes via subjective evaluation words intuitively. In particular, the structure of the subjective evaluation for 3D shapes and the reliability of the evaluation by non-design-professionals were examined. The results showed three-factor solution in which “Uniformity,” “Activity” and “Potency” factors were important evaluative standards in the subjective evaluation for 3D shapes. These factors are similar to Osgood's three factors, which were frequently reported factors in previous semantic differential studies. Furthermore, the subjective evaluations by non-design-professionals were generally consistent, which means that, with respect to the subjective evaluation, non-design-professionals without high level of design skills can evaluate 3D shapes in a reliable way.

Based on the protection motivation theory and previous studies that discussed the effects of risk perception, perceived response effectiveness, and self-efficacy on behavioral intentions and changes in behavior, this study conducted an experiment to examine the effects of the Metropolitan Police Department's crime deterrence task force’s official Twitter account on crime prevention behavior. Information on the threat of communications fraud, the effectiveness of preventive behavior, and self-efficacy was presented via Twitter, and changes in behavioral intention, behavior, fear, effectiveness, and self-efficacy were checked over time. Participants in their 20s to 50s were assigned to a Metropolitan Police Department group presented with tweets about scams or to a control group presented with other tweets. The results of the analysis of the 60 participants in the police department group and the 49 participants in the control group showed that the presentation of information increased behavioral intention, but it did not necessarily lead to changes in behavior. Therefore, it was suggested that there may be other factors that increase behavioral intention and changes in behavior.

This paper proposes a new wildlife image recognition method that combines object recognition based on deep learning and motion detection by inter-frame difference. This method makes it possible that such animal images as difficult to detect by object recognition can be detected by motion detection, and vice versa. The experimental results show the detection ratio and hit ratio are 100% and 84%, respectively, for videos including animals. Our achieved results can provide more efficient solutions for the time consuming and costly mitigation approaches to reduce human-wildlife conflicts.

築地市場の魚屋に勤務する70歳代, 男性。来院4日前から悪寒と来院前日からの呼吸困難を主訴に聖路加国際病院救急外来を受診した。結膜充血や関節痛, 肝腎機能障害, 炎症反応やCK上昇, 血小板減少に加え, 築地市場内でネズミとの曝露歴があったことからレプトスピラ症が疑われ入院した。入院時に採取した血清および尿検体を使用したPCR検査でレプトスピラ鞭毛遺伝子flaBが検出され, レプトスピラ症と診断した。入院後は呼吸循環障害のため集中治療室に入室したが, 人工呼吸器や腎代替療法は要さず, 入院第14病日に自宅退院とした。来院当日と2週間後, 1カ月後, 3カ月後に実施した顕微鏡下凝集試験では, L. interrogans serovar Canicolaなどの複数の血清型で抗体価は陽転化していた。東京都内でのレプトスピラ症では, ネズミとの職業曝露歴を聴取することが, 診断やその後の管理に有用であった。

症例は84歳,男性.胸部CTで65 mm大の弓部下行大動脈瘤と診断された.手術ハイリスク症例であったために経過観察の方針となったが,翌年のCTで瘤径が70 mmと拡大し,ステントグラフト(SG)治療の適応と診断され,手術目的に入院となった.SGは左鎖骨下動脈起始部から第10胸椎レベルまで左鎖骨下動脈を閉塞するかたちで留置を施行.手術同日の夜間から左下肢の脱力が出現.脊髄虚血による麻痺を疑い緊急で脳脊髄液ドレナージ(CSF-D)およびメチルプレドニゾロン大量静注,その後メチルプレドニゾロン,ナロキソン持続静脈内投与を開始した.術後2日目頃より徐々に改善がみられ,術後6日目にはつかまり立ちで立位保持が可能となった.術後20日目には杖を必要とするも自力で歩行ができるまで改善した.術後CTでエンドリークはなく,左鎖骨下動脈の閉塞も確認された.SG術後の脊髄虚血に対しては早期にCSF-D,メチルプレドニゾロンおよびナロキソン投与が有効であることが示唆された.

Recent years have witnessed the development of 3D printing systems of continuous carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastics (CFRTP) for use in various applications. In terms of convenience, 3D printing of CFRTP has attracted considerable attention in various fields and industries. In this study, non- and open-hole compressive (NHC and OHC) properties of 3D-printed CFRTP were evaluated. In an NHC test, the compressive elastic modulus and strength in the fiber alignment (0º) direction were obtained with values of 58.1±4.0 GPa and 368.0±33.3 MPa, respectively. A theoretical study of the relationship between compressive strength and the initial fiber misalignment angle showed that the latter was greater than that of conventional hot-pressed CFRTPs, suggesting that the fiber waviness of 3D printing has a negative effect on the longitudinal compressive strength. In an OHC test, cross-ply laminates with center holes were prepared, where the OHC strength was 165.6±1.2 MPa. Both fracture surface and X-ray CT observations showed that kink bands occurred in the 0º layer at the edge of the center hole and that extensive delamination was observed at the 0º/90º interface around the hole. These observations suggest that the voids attributed to 3D printing merged with the delamination derived from fiber buckling near the center hole, leading to rapid expansion of the delamination.

Recently, carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) has been increasingly used in the aerospace industry. To apply CFRP as an aircraft-grade structural material, thermosetting resin is used as a matrix to achieve high mechanical properties and environmental resistance. Additionally, the development of multifunctional CFRPs using matrix resins with functional properties, such as flame retardance, heat resistance, and vibration damping, is ongoing. In this study, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and experiments were performed to analyze the thermomechanical properties of epoxy/cyanate resins compared with those of conventional epoxy/amine resins, to evaluate the application of this heat resistant resin as an aircraft-grade structural material. This study clarified the properties of epoxy/cyanate resins, which had no cure shrinkage, high glass transition temperature, and low thermal conductivity. These properties are attributed to the characteristic cross-linked structure of epoxy/cyanate resins, which demonstrates their potential as a structural material for next-generation aircrafts.

We have developed a flapping aerial robot equipped with a mechanism of movable gravity center, aiming at controlling the air attitude. We performed a series of flight experiment to investigate how the position of the center of gravity affects air attitude of the flying robot, which was analyzed by using high-speed camera. The pitch angle is successfully controlled by changing the position of the center of gravity. It is demonstrated that a dynamic change in the center of gravity during the flight caused a sudden stop. The results suggest a possibility to realize a seamless change in the fright modes between straight and hovering frights by the movable center of gravity mechanism.

More than 400 glaciers exist in the mountains of Kamchatka Peninsula and they constitute the southern boundary of present-day glacierization along the eastern coast of the Eurasian continent. The mass balances of the glaciers are characterized by decadal and interdecadal oscillations, and they are closely related to those observed in the glaciers of Pacific North America. A negative relation was also found for the net accumulation timeseries reconstructed by ice cores from Ushkovsky Volcano, Kamchatka, and Mt. Logan, Canada, for the last 170 years. Because the oscillations of the net accumulation rate and the average annual δ 18O reconstructed from Ushkovsky-ice-core seem to be closely correlated with the so-called Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) Index, it was suggested that the mass balances of the glaciers at both sides of the North Pacific had been affected not only by global warming trends but also by the interdecadal climate variability that had dominantly been occurring over the North Pacific.

知的に正常な早産極低出生体重児の家庭生活状況と自尊心および親子関係について調査した.対象は2002年4月から2011年3月に当院新生児集中治療室に入院し,就学前の知能検査で正常知能が確認され,2017年4月の時点で学齢期にある108人である.自尊心はPopeの子ども用5領域自尊心尺度で評価し,結果はおおむね良好であった.自尊心評価が完遂できた96人の各尺度を従属変数とし,周産期情報およびアンケート情報の計16項目を独立変数とした重回帰分析を行った結果,出生体重,呼吸窮迫症候群,脳室周囲白質軟化症,調査時年齢と有意な関連を認めた.親子関係も対象の殆どが良好であった.自尊心尺度と親子関係は子からみた母子関係に相関する項目が多く,特に男子の家族尺度が「被拒絶感」と強い負の相関 ‹r = −0.7471, p< 0.001› があった.一方,自尊心と「心理的侵入」,「厳しいしつけ」および「達成要求」は殆ど相関しなかった.

本研究では、大学設置の「入口規制」として大学設置基準が、日本の高等教育の発展にどのように貢献してきたか、を分析するとともに、今日の規制緩和の流れの中で従来型の質保証体制がどのように変容するのかについて考察を加える。設置基準と認証評価がどのように連動して質保証システムとして機能してきたか、この両者が相互補完する体制が実質的な成果を挙げているか、についても検証する。また、比較可能な諸外国の設置基準と認証評価制度の関係を調査し、国際比較研究を通じて、日本固有の課題や将来への課題を明示する。さらに、日本の現状に見合った大学設置基準と質保証体制の在り方を模索し、将来の設置審査に関する提言を行う。
