A variety of bond portfolio optimization problems of institutional investors are formulated as linear and/or bilinear fractional programming problems and algorithms to solve this class of problems are discussed. Our objective is to optimize certain index of returns subject to constraints on such factors as the amount of cash flow, average maturity and average risk, etc. The resulting objective functions and constraints are either linear, bilinear or bilinear fractional functions. T. he authors devised a special purpose algorithm for obtaining a local optimal solution of this nonconvex optimization problem containing more than 200 variables. Though it need not generate a global optimum, it is efficient enough to meet users' requirement.

一般に,株式価格はランダムウォークに従い,将来の価格を予測することはできない.一方,同業同規模の企業の銘柄など,株式価格が一定の差(スプレッド) を維持しながら推移するような値動きが,市場において観測されることがある.このような株式価格における現象は,共和分性として特徴付けることができる.株式価格のペアが共和分する場合,スプレッドは平均回帰性をもつ.従って,一時的にスプレッドが平均を上回る(あるいは下回る) ような状況が生じても,いずれは平均的な水準に収束することが期待される.さらに,共和分ペアが複数存在すれば,これらを利用したポートフォリオ最適化問題を考えることができる.本論文では,このような共和分性をもつ株式価格のペアを抽出し,複数のスプレッドを利用して最適ポートフォリオを構築する手法について検討する.最適ポートフォリオについては,離散時間設定における条件付き平均・分散最適化問題, および,連続時間設定における動的最適化問題の2 つの問題設定の下で計算し,実データを用いてシミュレーションを行う.さらに,離散時間設定の最適ポートフォリオに対し,取引コストやパラメータ推定期間の影響について考察する.

フラクショナルレーザー療法は,きわめて微細なレーザー光(micro laser beam)を一定の密度で皮膚に照射してゆく治療法である.このようなレーザー照射法では,周囲の皮膚が熱緩和(thermal relaxation)の役割を果たし,表皮や真皮に対してのburn-like thermal damageを最小限に抑えることができる.一方では,micro laser beamの熱刺激により表皮のターンオーバーを亢進し,真皮組織を十分に収縮させて,従来のlaser resurfacingに劣らない皮膚リモデリング作用を誘導できる.特に炭酸ガスレーザーを用いたフラクショナル療法は,真皮組織の一部を確実に蒸散し,取り除くとともに,熱によるコラーゲン収縮が生じるため,皮表に張力を与えて,強力なスキンタイトニング効果を可能にしている.本療法の登場により,真皮へ強力なアプローチが可能となったため,これまで十分な方法がなかった,?瘡瘢痕の治療にも応用できるようになった.すなわち,表皮が細かく陥凹するような所謂,顔面のice pick scarには特に有効であり,日常生活で?瘡瘢痕の整容的なコンプレックスに悩んでいる患者にとっては朗報となっている.

We recently treated a patient with a penetrating gun shot wound from the posterior part of the left ear to the left maxillary sinus. The patient was a 35-year-old male who had been injured by a bullet entering behind his left ear. X-ray films and CT scans of the paranasal sinuses at the time of the initial examination showed a bullet in the frontal part of the left maxillary sinus. Intracranial damage was not suspected. Treatment was carried out on the same day. The wound behind the left ear was opened, and a Caldwell-Luc operation was performed. The bullet was removed from inside the left maxillary sinus. The patient had slight difficulty in movement of the articulus mandibularis. No abnormality of the cranial nerves, including the facial nerve, was observed, and the patient's recovery after the operation was good.

CSD(Cortical Spreading Depression)は可逆性の現象である。CSDの際,neuron活動による熱を発生し,その脳温変動が円状に伝搬する。さらにCSDに伴う脳血流の一過性増加が見られる。このCSDの特長を応用して,脳温と局所脳血流(regional cerebral blood flow—rCBF)変動を観察した。CSD惹起後,脳血流が一過性に増加する際脳温が低下した。すなわち,CSDの際,代謝の亢進により脳温が上昇するが,その初期には脳温が低下する現象が証明された。この結果より脳代謝ばかりでなく脳温の制御においても脳血流が重要な役割をしていることが証明された。脳神経外科領域において,損傷による脳温上昇を避けるには正常な皮質の血管構築の保護が重要である。

Since islands of Okinawa was incorporated into Japan, many Okinawan people have been in a little difficult position. For example, the migrants from Okinawa in the cities of mainland Japan (Hondo) were often discriminated in the employment opportunities. And because islands of Okinawa was ruined in World War II, many Okinawan migrants were left in the mainland, and they had to live in the postwar severe situation. In this paper, I will examine the urban lives of Okinawan migrants in Hyogo prefecture (especially postwar Amagasaki, Takaradsuka, Itami and Kobe city) and their various forms of networks, groups and places to live in and to resist oppressed situation. The association of people from Okinawa prefecture (Okinawa-Kenjinkai-Hyogoken-Honbu) was one of the most cohesive group, it was made by `Okinawa' as a social category and as a symbol of concentration for some social and political purposes. In Amagasaki and Takaradsuka city, these cohesions like Kenjinkai had made it possible for some assemblymen who were native of Okinawa to win the local elections, for example. When the people who lived in the concentrated areas had some political purposes, these areas became the cohesive places to resist their opponents. But these cohesions were ad hoc. Because each migrants lived in different geographical and social context, their each individual living strategies and tactics were complicated, and each migrants had extended their own personal networks which included neighbors who were not native of Okinawa. So even in their concentrated areas, their individual social and political senses were not always in unison. Okinawan migrants had become urbanites in urban settings. It is said that discrimination in the employment opportunities was to some extent eased in the high-growth period, so their lives have changed for the better. And the main role of Kenjinkai have become enhancing mutual friendship.

ゲームセンター運営大手のアドアーズは2002年10月に、IP-VPNとBフレッツの二つのサービスを利用してネットワークを刷新した。以前のフレーム・リレーとISDNのネットワークに比べ、1拠点当たりの平均通信費は、Bフレッツの導入で約4万円から約6000円に激減。浮いた分をIP-VPNの利用に回して、会社全体での通信コストは増やさず、約60拠点の接続速度を100Mビット/秒に向上させた。

Mesospheric optical phenomena(including sprites) are becoming an interesting subject from the standpoint of atmosphere-ionosphere coupling. This paper deals with our observation of sprites associated with winter thunderstorms in the Hokuriku area and we show the characteristics of those sprites and their parent lightning discharges. Although the scale of Japanese lightning in winter is very small as compared with the MCS (Mesoscale Convective System) for the summer continental lightning, the essential quantities (polarity, charge transfer etc.) are found to be nearly the same as those for those MCS. However, there might be required an additional factor, such as the self-organization of the lightning.

分子内に溶媒不溶部を持たず分子的に完全に溶解している&ldquo;非両親媒性高分子&rdquo;に対して自己組織化を起こさせる新規なミセル形成法について紹介する。1,4-ジオキサン中では非両親媒性高分子であるポリ(4ビニルフェノール)-<i>block</i>-ポリスチレンジブロック共重合体は、単独では自己組織化を示さないが、&alpha;,&omega;-ジアミンの存在下では球状ミセルを形成する。このミセルは良好な感熱応答挙動を示し、温度により解離再形成が可逆的に制御される。また、臨界ミセル濃度は共重合体濃度ではなく、自己組織化の誘発物質であるジアミン濃度により決定される。このミセル形成を利用すればさまざまな分子設計が可能である。例えば、両親媒性高分子からは合成が難しいクルーカットミセルやランダムブロック共重合体ミセルを容易に得ることができる。これらの特徴を染料のナノ粒子化に応用した例についても述べる。

In NC machining of noncircular contours, where cutter is fed along a straight line intersecting perpendicularly the roration axis of work piece, the cutter path usually consists of Archimedes's spiral segments. From machining precision and efficiency point of view, a desired cutter path should be composed of the fewer segments as possible under the condition of satisfying the specified interpolation error limitation. In this paper, an optimal interpolation principle of Archimedes's spiral for planar curves is presented and then a practical algorithm is constructed. The segment number of the cutter path resulted from the algorithm not only is the fewest but also the interpolation accuracy agrees with the specified value. It is also evidenced that the profile error of machined contour corresponding to the cutter path is perfectly controlled within the desired value, i. e. the specified interpolation error value, through detailed analyses. The interpolation results of using the presented algorithm for machining disc cam profile are compared with those obtained by Nishioka's methods (3) . The comparison results sufficiently confirm the validity of the algorithm developed by the authors.

In this research, we tried to verify the role of the administration to invigoration of a less-favored area anew. We selected the Sugiyama district in Maizuru-city as study area, and analyzed the process which the area invigorated paying attention to the action of administration. Result from listening survey uncovered that suitable care of administration was functioning as a important factor behind the Sugiyama district accomplished endogenous development. Although "the new public" which consists of various subjects as a bearer of an area is expected in recent years, we made it clear that the role of administration is still important.
