Flick text entry on smartphones is so popular that a majority of users prefer it to the more conventional QWERTY keyboard. Yet, the typing speed and accuracy of such text entry varies greatly depending on the individual. Focusing on eye-gaze behavior, we analyzed typing data of 33 individuals recorded with a touch logger and eye tracking data of 31 individuals recorded with a glass-type eye tracker to clarify what causes the individual variability. Correlation analysis revealed the following four findings. 1) The typing speed and the reciprocal of time interval from a release to the next landing showed a high correlation over 0.90. 2) The higher the gazing ratio at the keyboard was, the slower the typing speed and the higher the accuracy tended to be. 3) Some expert users achieved a fast typing speed and a high accuracy. 4) The majority of errors were landing errors to adjacent keys. On the basis of these findings, we propose a keyboard layout that considers eye gaze.

11歳齢,未去勢雄のミニチュア・ダックスフンドが右膁部の限局性脱毛を主訴に来院した。皮膚科検査にて休止期脱毛を認めたために画像検査を行い,皮下陰睾,前立腺肥大,腹腔内腫瘤を認めた。血清エストラジオール(E2)の高値とテストステロン/E2比の低値を示したため分泌性精巣腫瘍を疑った。腹腔内陰睾を外科摘出後,病理組織学的検査にてセルトリ細胞腫とセミノーマの混合腫瘍,皮膚生検にて皮膚萎縮と休止期毛包と診断した。術後に血清E2の低下と発毛があり,E2分泌性セルトリ細胞腫による性ホルモン性脱毛と診断した。

シクロスポリンA(Cyclosporine A; CyA)の内服法の変更を徹底することで寛解維持が可能となったネフローゼ症候群(巣状糸球体硬化症)の症例を経験した。症例は12歳女児,7 歳時にネフローゼ症候群を発症し,他院でプレドニゾロン,CyA にて治療されていたが,再発を繰り返し完全寛解に至らず当院へ紹介された。CyA は,前医でも血中濃度を定期的に測定され,7.7 mg/kg 分2 でC0 70 ng/mℓ,C2 500 ng/mℓ程度であったが血中濃度は安定せず,上昇しにくいとのことであった。当院紹介後,前医での内服方法が食後投与で,食事時間や内服時間も不定であったことが判明した。そこで,当院では規則正しく食事をし,さらに食前30 分前(空腹時)の内服を徹底するよう指導した。その結果,5.5 mg/kg 分2 でC0 60~100 ng/mℓ,C2 600~1000 ng/mℓと血中濃度が上昇しCyA の投与量も減量できた。さらに,安定した血中濃度が得られ寛解を維持することも可能となった。CyA を投与する際には,定期的な血中濃度測定だけでなく,内服状況の確認とその指導が非常に大切だと思われた。

本計画研究班では、地球史研究から導かれる「生命誕生の器」としての原始地球表層環境を定量的に復元し、冥王代地球表層環境進化の過程を具体的に解明することを目的としている。H29年度の研究は主に5つのテーマで実施された。[1]生命誕生場と生命誕生のプロセスの解明:生命が誕生するためには、水があるだけでは不十分で、それ以外にも複数の環境条件が満たされることが必要である。そこで、諸条件の中から生命誕生場に必要な9つの条件を抽出してまとめた。[2]白馬地域の地質の継続調査と古環境の分類:冥王代類似環境としての白馬地域の特殊な水環境について比較分析し、水環境場を4つのタイプに分類した。白馬で特徴的な蛇紋岩熱水系温泉水は、高アルカリかつ水素ガスを大量に含んでおり、特に、H2を含むため貧酸素水であり、そのため冥王代型の微生物生態系が形成されていることが明らかになった。[3]オクロの自然原子炉の研究:ガボン国内の数地域で露頭周辺の調査を集中的に行い、最適と思われる掘削地点を三か所抽出した。[4]地球の起源と新たな太陽系惑星形成論の展開:太陽系進化の初期条件を決めるうえで、太陽系組成ガスから凝縮した最古の物質であるCAIの理解を深めることが重要である。そこで、始原的隕石ALLENDEに含まれる3種類のCAIに注目し、それらの核合成起源Sr同位体異常(μ84Sr)を高精度で測定した。その結果、μ84Sr値の大きさはFTA > Type B > FSの順であることが判明した。[5]継続的なブレインストーミングの実施:2件の国際ワークショップと4件の国内向けワークショップ実施した。

1994年5月から1995年6月にかけて, 神奈川県および埼玉県の7ヵ所の動物病院より採取した総計471検体の飼育猫の血清について, B.henselaeとT.gondiiの感染状況を調査した.さらに, これらの中の無作為に抽出した67頭の猫について, 猫免疫不全ウイルス(FIV)抗体ならびに猫白血病ウイルス(FeLV)抗原の検索を行った.B.henselae抗体価は間接蛍光抗体法で, T.gondii, FIV抗体ならびにFeLV抗原は市販のキットを用いて測定した.調査した猫のうち, 43頭(9.1%)がB.henselaeに対し, 41頭(8.7%)がT.gondiiに対する抗体を保有していた.B.henselaeに対する雄猫の抗体陽性率は12.9%と雌猫の5.2%に比べ有意に高い値を示した(p<0.01).一方、T.gondii抗体陽性率は雄猫の9.1%, 雌猫の8.7%で有意な差は見られなかった.各病院ごとの猫のB.henselae抗体陽性率は0〜19.5%, T.gondii抗体陽性率は4.0〜18.8%であった.B.henselaeおよびT.gondii抗体陽性の猫は1歳以下〜14歳まで見られ, T.gondii抗体陽性率は年齢とともに上昇する傾向が見られた.無作為抽出した67頭の猫血清のうち, 16頭(23.8%)がFIV抗体を6頭(8.9%)がFeLV抗原をそれぞれ保有していたが, これらとB.henselaeの陽性率との間に関連性は認められなかった.

本発表では、人工知能(AI)技術によって不動産分野のユーザーエクスペリエンス(UX)を革新する試みについて述べる.(1) 不動産物件写真にディープラーニングを適用することにより,物件写真への自動アノテーションの実装と、「街頭にスマートフォンのカメラをかざすだけで物件を検索する」という新しいUX創出を実現した.(2) 適正な価格の推定が難しいという不動産売買取引におけるUXの問題に対して、機械学習による参考価格算出アルゴリズムにより、日本全国のマンションの参考価格を地図上に提示するサービスを開発した.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of combined resistance training and aerobic training with protein intake after resistance training on body composition in obese middle-aged women. The subjects were 42 middle-aged women (age : 56.5±4.3 years, BMI : 26.6±2.3 kg/m2), who were classified into three supplementation groups: Protein group (PG), Isocalorie placebo group (IG), and Noncalorie placebo group (CG) by Double Blind Randomized Trial. The training program consisted of combined resistance training and aerobic training for 10 weeks, 5 times per week: twice a week in a university training room and 3 times per week at home. The subjects took the nutrient supplement immediately after each resistance training session. We measured body weight (Bw), body fat volume (Bf) by bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), and cross-sectional area (CSA) of muscle of the thigh extensor group (Te), flexor group (Tf), and psoas major (Pm) by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) before and after the 10-week training period. Irrespective of group, Bw and Bf showed a significant decrease after the training period compared to before (p<0.001), and the CSA of Te muscle showed a significant increase after the training period (p<0.01). Moreover, the interaction of time×group was accepted in the CSA of Pm muscle (p<0.05), and the increase in muscle volume for PG was the highest increase among the three supplementation groups (p<0.05)(PG : 2.1±0.8 cm2, IG : 1.3±1.0 cm2, CG : 1.3±0.9 cm2). These results suggest that combined training in middle-aged obese women improves body composition, and resistance training with protein intake may increase the CSA of muscle of psoas major.

The “self-medication tax deduction” system began in Japan in January 2017, allowing people to encourage the use of OTC drugs. Package inserts contain important information for consumers regarding their use. In this study, we first checked whether the items, as required in the notifications of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, are described in the package inserts of cold remedies and analgesic antipyretics in OTC drugs. The descriptions of almost all packages checked in this study were based on the notifications, but those of a small number of them were not. Next, we examined the description of the items, unrequired in the notification, but worthy for proper use of drugs; e.g., the description of prohibition for use by “patients with severe hypertension” in case of ibuprofen-containing products, and the description was found in only seven of 180 products. Manufactures should make package inserts along with notifications, including the description for proper use of drugs.

The production processes of old Japanese coins, Genbun-koban, Akita-ginban and Morioka-ginban, were studied. These coins were manufactured by a forging method in the Edo-era. Genbun-koban, manufactured at a gold mint of the Tokugawa shogunate called Kinza, in 1736, is made of Au-Ag alloy and its surface is not flat. The residual stress of this coin is compressive, and the residual stress in the stamped area is higher than that in the flat area. The Iroage method was used to color the coin; it is a thermal treatment, resulting in lows the residual stress is smaller at flat area. Akita-ginban, manufactured in the Akita domain in 1863 is made of pure Ag and its surface is also not flat. There is no residual stress in this coin. This result shows that the thermal treatment of this coin was carried out after processing. Morioka-ginban, manufactured in the Morioka domain in 1868, is made of pure Ag, and its surface is flat. The residual stress of this coin is compressive, and the residual stress in the stamped area is higher than that in the flat area. This result shows that the thermal treatment was not carried out after processing. These coins manufactured in the Edo-era thus had different thermal treatments.

We study charge transport on the surface state of topological insulator where two-dimensional Dirac electron is generated. We put ferromagnetic insulator or superconductor on the topological insulator and reveal anomalous charge transport on the surface. We first consider the charge transport through a ferromagnetic insulator/ferromagnetic insulator (FI/FI) junction on a topological insulator. The resulting conductance across the interface depends sensitively on the directions of the magnetizations of the two FI, showing anomalous behaviors compared with the conventional spin valve. It is found that the conductance depends strongly on the in-plane direction of the magnetization. Moreover, in sharp contrast to the conventional magnetoresistance effect, the conductance at the parallel configuration can be much smaller than that at the antiparallel configuration. We also study the transport properties of a normal metal (N)/FI/superconductor (S) junction formed on the surface of a three-dimensional topological insulator, where chiral Majorana edge mode exists at the FI/S interface. We find that the chiral Majorana edge mode generated in N/FI/S junction strongly influences the charge conductance.
