エバネッセント波吸収を応用してライン型水素センサを試作した。酸化タングステン(WO_3)が水素存在下でタングステンブロンズとなって青く発色する現象を感応膜として利用した。センサはWO_3粉末をシリコン樹脂中に分散させてクラッドとしたものと、ゾルゲル法でコア表面にWO_3薄膜を形成させたものを作成した。シリコン樹脂中に分散させたセンサは水素存在下で青く変色するにもかかわらず、光損失が減少した。ゾルゲル法で薄膜を形成したセンサは水素存在下で光損失が予想通り増大し、応答時間も常温で10分程度と比較的速く、ライン型センサとして有望であった。

超高齢化が進むなかで地域コミュニティの維持と高齢者等への生活支援がいっそう困難化してきている。そのために地域コミュニティの再編成と行政による地域コミュニティへの支援が強化されている。2つの自治体ではともに小地域単位にコミュニティセンターを設け、住民の自治活動をきめ細かく支援する仕組みを作りつつあった。またNPOなどの非地縁型の組織は高齢化した地域コミュニティの生活課題の一部をカバーしつつあるが、まだ十分に補完機能を果たしているとはいえない。

原子爆弾が広島・長崎両市に投下されて60年が経過した。原爆の医学的被害の研究は疫学的解析を主体になされ,様々な放射線被曝後障害の実態が明らかとなってきた。その中で特に重要なものは悪性腫瘍の増加で,白血病が被爆後約10年で発症のピークに達しその後漸減したのに対し,被爆者固形がんは,現在においてもその罹患率の増加が継続している。最近,我々は長崎腫瘍組織登録委員会の資料を基にした疫学的解析により,被爆後30年を経過し1980年代より近距離被爆者に重複がん罹患率が高くなり現在も増加傾向にあることを見出した。被爆者に数十年という長期間にわたり固形がんの罹患率が高い理由はいまだわっかていないが,放射線によりゲノム不安定性といった易腫瘍発生性が惹起されていて,一般的発がん因子の蓄積するがん年齢となって腫瘍が顕在化するのではないかと推論できる。将来的に発生メカニズムの分子レベルでの解明が待たれるが,そのために被爆者生体試料の収集は必須の作業である。

This study was performed to examine the effects of weekly exercise in subjects classified as support_1 according to the Japanese health care insurance system. We evaluated the ability of eight elderly subjects to walk using wireless inertia sensors with an embedded triaxial accelerometer and angular velocity sensor. The subjects participated in training once a week and were evaluated once a month over a study period of 3 months. Wearable motion sensors were attached to the lower back and both thighs of each subject. The subjects performed high-performance walking over a distance of 10 m. The speed, cadence, gait cycle, thigh pitch angle, and autocorrelation function on the lower back were determined. The subjects attained high-performance walking sooner after 3 months. Although most of the subjects showed an improvement in walking ability, there were no significant improvements in the cadence gait cycle or autocorrelation function. Exercise once a week can significantly improve the ability of elderly subjects to walk. Thus, home exercise is recommended to improve walking ability in the elderly.

本研究では,60 GHz帯において,複数の発泡度を存する4種類の発泡スチロール板(厚さ5 cm)の透過係数位相の入射角特性を測定し,その測定データに適合する発泡スチロール板の屈折率実部を非線形最小二乗法により推定した.得られた実験結果を用い,発泡スチロールの屈折率実部と発泡スチロール体積に占めるポリスチレン成分の体積分率の関係を表す線形近似の実験式を求めた.また,発泡スチロール透過係数絶対値の層の厚さ依存性の測定より,屈折率虚部についても推定を行った.

Dialogues with community constituents are indispensable for scientists whose research fields and applications are closely related with communities throughout the research processes of consensus building on executions of research projects, making decisions on research policies, sharing the products of the projects, corrections. What kind of guidance is required for scientists to maintain a dialogue with the society? Using mailing list and web portfolio, we recorded a process of planning and executing a science cafe with two researchers who research for reintroduction of Crested Ibis (Toki) into Sado Island. Additionally, to understand the reality of the research, we observed the field research by the scientists in Sado Island. This record and analysis about difficulty and the solution of the science cafe serves scientists as a effectively guidance.

術前診断に小腸造影検査が有効であった内ヘルニアを2例経験したので報告する.症例1は44歳の女性.腹痛・嘔吐を訴え, 腹部単純X線でイレウスと診断した.保存的治療が奏効せず, 33日目に開腹したところ大網裂孔ヘルニアを認め, 陥入した空腸は小網と癒着し, 絞扼性変化をきたしていた.空腸部分切除とヘルニア孔閉鎖を施行した.症例2は57歳の男性.腹痛を訴え, 腹部単純X線でイレウスと診断した.保存的治療が奏効せず, 21日目に開腹したところS状結腸間膜内ヘルニアを認め, 陥入した回腸は後腹膜と癒着していた.腸管切除は行わず, 癒着剥離とヘルニア孔閉鎖を施行した.2症例とも開腹歴はなく, イレウス症状をきたし, 小腸造影では狭窄部位で腸管の先細り像を認めたが, 血管造影, CTなどの検査では異常を認めなかった.このような症例においては, イレウスの原因として内ヘルニアを念頭に置く必要があると考えられた.

This paper compared the specificity of recollections of autobiographical memories where musical cues for events were varied. We used music which was popular in the past as cues which were related to a larger number of past individual events (frequent events cues) and music which was typically only sung at graduation ceremonies as cues which were related to a smaller number of events (rare events cues). In the instructed retrieval condition, participants were told to listen to the music and to recall past events, whereas in incidental retrieval condition, the instruction was only to listen to the music. Then participants were asked to describe what they recalled while hearing the music. When frequent events musical cues were played, the specificities of the recalled events were higher in the instructed retrieval condition than in the incidental retrieval condition. In contrast, when rare events musical cues were played, there were no differences in the specificities of the recalled events.

多量の個人履歴データを用い,行動の類型の上での時間発展の共通性から,個人のクラスターと時間発展モデルを抽出する各種の方法論を提案した.個体集団の細分の方法としては,古典的SOMを用いる方法の事例を検討するとともに,そこで生じた問題点を解決するために,位相的な構造を表現する新たな方法論として,可変自己組織化マップを提案した.また,クラスター上での予測方法として各種の予測モデルを作成した.

This paper presents that, in hot strip finishing mills, AC motor drive systems improve the strip tension control performance which results in better strip thickness accuracy than DC motor drive systems.<br>Recently the AC motors are more widely used in many industrial fields including steel making process because of their higher response of speed control, higher reliability, and easier maintenance than DC motors. Here we consider the effect of using AC motors as rolling main motors from a point of view of strip thickness accuracy. We analyse the relation between speed control response of the strip tension control system and strip thickness accuracy with use of the Bode diagram and non-linear simulation. As a result we show that the higher response of AC motor speed control system can achieve the smaller strip tension deviation, furthermore makes it possible to get higher response of gage control system which turns more accurate strip thickness.

The relationships of rumination and reflection with self-focus, se1f-efficacy, self-esteem and depression, as well as gender differences in these relationships were investigated. Results indicated that women ruminated more than men and that men reflected more than women. Moreover, reflection had a negative effect on depression in men, whereas it had no effect on depression in women. Previous research has suggested that reflection does not have an effect in alleviating depression. Results of this study indicated that rumination had a positive effect on depression without regard to sex. However, rumination had a negative influence on self-efficacy and self-esteem in both sexes. It is concluded that negative and persistent ruminations lowers the self-efficacy and self-esteem.

SOI製品が、サーバー、ゲーム機、電波時計等の分野で広がりつつある。一方、ITRSのロードマップによれば、SOIデバイスは、サブ50nm世代以降の微細化デバイスの候補であり、emerging technologyとして"nonclassical CMOS"に分類されている。本パネルでは、まず、ビジネス的観点から、「死の谷越え」のできるSOIデバイスの特徴、アプリケーション、条件を明らかにする。次に、技術的観点から、超高速指向のアプリケーションにターゲットを絞って、サブ50nm世代のLSI設計における問題点を明らかにするとともに、SOIによる対策例を示す。各種SOI技術を「バルクデバイスの置き換え」、「SOIしかできない技術」というような色分けをしながら、今後SOI技術が本当に切り札になりうるのかを議論する。

雌雄のWistarラットに,0.00, 0.01, 0.10および1.00%の割合でギムネマ・シルベスタ葉の抽出粉末(GS)を基礎飼料に添加した餌を52週間与えた.試験期間中,GS投与に関連する動物の死亡はなく,体重,摂餌量,血液学,血液生化学および病理組織学的検査における変化は認められなかった.52週間のGS 1.00% 添加飼料(一日平均摂取量,雄504 mg/kg/day, 雌563 mg/kg/day)の摂取量は,ラットにおいて毒性変化の認められない用量(NOAEL)であると推論した.

近年,薬剤開発に必要な時間や費用が増大しており,薬剤開発の期間短縮や費用削減が求められている.そのための手法としてコンピュータ上でのシミュレーションを用いて,ターゲットとなるタンパク質を阻害する薬物の構造を設計する手法が注目を浴びている.一方で,薬物として使用する化合物は,体内で代謝・排泄されなければならないという条件がある.この条件を満たす薬物の選定のために行われるのが薬物クリアランス経路予測である.そこで我々は,コンピュータ上で行われるシミュレーションのひとつである,タンパク質と化合物のドッキング計算による結合自由エネルギー計算を,薬物クリアランス経路の予測に応用し,これまで我々が開発してきたクリアランス経路予測システムの精度改善を行った.
