In this paper, we propose a filter to satisfy velocity and acceleration limits for arbitrary input signals. The shapes of input signals are sometimes converted into trapezoidal wave in order to prevent an overload on the robot in FA field. Generally, physical protection of equipments, safety and ride quality are achieved with limitations for input signals about some properties. For achieving such limitation, the filters which limit some signal properties are widely used. A filter structure to satisfy velocity and acceleration limits was designed only simple feedback control with the saturation function. However, this structure had a problem that time-lag between the input signal and modified signal is occurred. To solve this problem, we propose a filter structure which is based on the model error compensator. Modified signal which is generated by the proposed filter satisfies the desired signal constraints for any input signals. By the proposed structure, time-lag can be smaller than the signals obtained by the previous method. The effectiveness of the proposed filter is shown by the numerical examples.

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) production and absorption concept significantly changed in the early 2010s from "third circulation theory" and "classical bulk flow theory" to a whole new one as follows: First, CSF is mainly produced from interstitial fluid excreted from the brain parenchyma, and CSF produced from the choroid plexus plays an important role in maintaining brain homeostasis. Second, CSF is not absorbed in the venous sinus via the arachnoid granules, but mainly in the dural lymphatic vessels. Finally, the ventricles and subarachnoid spaces have several compensatory direct CSF pathways at the borders attached to the choroid plexus, e.g., the inferior choroidal point of the choroidal fissure, other than the foramina of Luschka and Magendie. In idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH), the lateral ventricles and basal cistern are enlarged simultaneously due to the compensatory direct CSF pathways. The average total intracranial CSF volume increased from about 150 mL at 20 years to about 350 mL at 70 years due to the decrease in brain volume with aging and further increased above 400 mL in patients with iNPH. CSF movements are composed of a steady microflow produced by the rhythmic wavy movement of motile cilia on the ventricular surface and dynamic pulsatile flow produced by the brain and cerebral artery pulsation, respiration, and head movement. Pulsatile CSF movements might totally decrease with aging, but it in the ventricles might increase at the foramina of Magendie and Luschka dilation. Aging CSF dynamics are strongly associated with ventricular dilatation in iNPH.

Nilotinib, one of the tyrosine kinase inhibitors, has been used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL). Nilotinib-associated cerebral arterial occlusive disease, which is treated with medicine with/without bypass surgery or stenting, has been sporadically reported to occur. The mechanism of the nilotinib-associated cerebral disease has not been clarified and is still controversial. Here we present the case of a 39-year-old woman with Ph+ ALL treated with nilotinib, which led to symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis. We performed high-flow bypass surgery and observed the arterial stenotic change in the stenotic portion intraoperatively, whose findings strongly supported the theory of atherosclerosis and seemed to be irreversible.

We proposed an in vitro test based on pH changes in ophthalmic solutions with the addition of lacrimal buffer, and examined anti-allergic ophthalmic solutions (acitazanolast hydrate, amlexanox, epinastine hydrochloride, ketotifen fumarate, levocabastine hydrochloride, olopatadine hydrochloride, pemirolast potassium, sodium cromoglycate, and tranilast) and anti-glaucoma ophthalmic solutions (brimonidine tartrate, carteolol hydrochloride, dorzolamide hydrochloride, isopropyl unoprostone, pilocarpine hydrochloride, timolol maleate, and travoprost) by using the in vitro test. Resistance to the lacrimal buffer capacity of ketotifen ophthalmic solution was higher than that of the other anti-allergic ophthalmic solutions tested. Among anti-glaucoma ophthalmic solutions, resistance to the lacrimal buffer capacity of the isopropyl unoprostone and dorzolamide ophthalmic solutions was higher than that of the other ophthalmic solutions tested. We also found relationships between ophthalmic additives and the pH-buffering effect in ophthalmic solutions, and demonstrated that D-mannitol, which is an ophthalmic additive, resisted the pH-buffering effect in artificial tears. Furthermore, high resistance was observed to the lacrimal buffer capacities of ophthalmic solutions with D-mannitol. These results will contribute to further studies aimed at reducing irritation caused by ophthalmic solutions.

本小稿は、日本の近代化と宗教の関連性を究明しようとする先学の諸説のなかから、日本の近代化 (=資本主義化) と浄土真宗の内面的な関連性を検討しようとする先学の諸説のみを取り上げている。そしてまず、日本の近代化と浄土真宗の関連性を積極的に評価しようとする内藤莞爾氏やR・N・ベラーの所説を検討し、M・ヴェーバーの所説と比較した場合の問題点として、西欧歴史と日本歴史との発展形態の相違について必ずしも十分な配慮がなされていない点と、ヴェーバーは新教と産業資本の関係を論究しているのに対して彼らは浄土真宗と商業資本の関係を考察している点、の二点を指摘している。次いで、日本の近代化と浄土真宗の関連性を消極的に評価しようとするヴェーバー自身や小口偉一氏らの所論を吟味し、特にヴェーバ-の所論を発展させる方途として、日本では何故西洋の如く個人の内面的規範としての禁欲的精神が出て来なかったかという点と、そういう精神が出て来なかったにも拘らず何故目本ではベトリープが形成され資本主義化が大きく押し進められてきたかという点に、答える必要のあることを指摘している。続いて、本稿はそれらの点に解答を記述する過程で、日本の近代化の主体的条件を浄土真宗を含めた日本の諸宗教に求める見解には消極的な評価を与え、逆にそれを「国」・「家」の「共同体成員」としての外面的規範に求める立場には積極的な評価を下すべきことを強調している。

症例は42歳男性.右陰囊痛にて近医を受診し,精巣上体炎の診断にて抗生物質の投与を受けた.その後,症状増悪する為に,紹介受診となった.超音波検査では,右精巣上極に血流が認められない径4 cm大の低エコー領域を認めた.MRIでは右精巣上極にT2強調画像で高信号,T1強調画像で淡い高信号を呈する病変を認めた.造影にて同部位に局所的な血流障害を認め,区域性精巣梗塞と診断されたため,保存的に経過観察した.陰囊痛は保存的に軽快し,発症3カ月後のMRIでは梗塞巣の縮小を認めた.精巣区域梗塞は稀であり,精巣腫瘍や精巣捻転との鑑別が困難なため,外科的摘除後に診断が確定する例が多い.急性陰囊症におけるMRI検査は不要な外科的治療を回避するのに重要な検査と思われた.

人口減少下に入った我が国では,公共サービスの量と質の維持が,今後,問題となると考えられる.下水道,ごみ処理分野でも同様な状況であり,早急な対策が必要である.下水道直投型ディスポーザー(以下,「DP」)の導入は,可燃ごみの減量化と取り扱いに難がある厨芥類の除外によってごみ処理での効率化が期待できる.一方で,下水道に投入された厨芥類によって下水処理への水質負荷の増大による負の側面がある.本研究ではDP排水の管路内での水質模擬実験のデータに基づき下水処理施設に到達する水質負荷の変化を予測し,その結果を反映した温室効果ガス(以下,「GHG」)排出量予測によって下水処理,可燃ごみ処理の影響を検討した.結果として,DP排水による下水処理での増加に比較して可燃ごみ減量による削減が大きく,直投型DPの導入はGHG排出量削減に寄与することを明らかにした.

Charles Dickens (1812-70) and Catherine, his wife, sailed from Liverpool on 4 January on board the steamship Britannia. For comfort during their absence of six months, they took with them Catherine’s maid, the ever-reliable Anne Brown, and a delightful sketch of the children by Maclise which was given pride of place in their room wherever they stayed. After a wretched voyage during which they were all extremely seasick, they arrived in Boston to a tumultuous welcome. People lined the streets whenever he went out; they cheered him at the theatre, deluged him with messages of congratulation; they besieged the hotel. In Boston, Dickens formed warm friendships with a number of prominent Bostonians. Among them were the city’s mayor, Jonathan Chapman, several Harvard Professors, and the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-82). Dickens was fascinated by not only the Bostonians but also the city. He mentions University of Harvard as one of the sources of charm of Boston. The Perkins Institution and Massachusetts Asylum for the Blind made a deep impression on him. Dickens explains the institution by the description of Samuel Gridley Howe (1801-76), who is an philanthropist, an abolitionist, and a pioneer of measures to deal with blind and intellectually disabled person. The account which has been published by Dr. Howe, describes the rapid mental growth and improvement of Laura Bridgeman. Dickens’s impression about Boston seems to have a relationship to charity. At south Boston, several charitable institutions were clustered together. One of them, was the State Hospital for the insane; admirably conducted on those enlightened principles of conciliation and kindness. Dickens also mentions the transcendentalists, the group influenced by Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881), his friend. Transcendentalism is a philosophical movement that developed in the late 1820s and 1830s in the eastern United States. Transcendentalism emphasizes subjective intuition over objective empiricism. Dickens seems to feel an affinity with the transcendentalists. In Lowell he discovered that the factory girls were not ashamed to produce their own magazine, to subscribe to a circulating library, to play the piano. It was what Dickens had thought of the United States with hope and admiration. However, Dickens increasingly began to feel that everything had been pulled down. The first rifts appeared when he referred publicly to the Question of International Copyright. He, and indeed many other English writers, felt bitterly about this. He seems to avoid referring to it strongly. In New York, Dickens points out the filth and the wretchedness of the Five Points. In Philadelphia, he thinks that the system of the prison called Eastern Penitentiary is rigid, strict, and hopeless solitary confinement. In Washington, the two odious practices of chewing tobacco and expectorating displeased him. In Baltimore, he felt ashamed of slavery. What has to be noticed that Dickens appreciates the great Temperance Convention led by Theobald Mathew and the neighborly love by the Unitarian church, while he does not like the ascetism of the shakers of the Shaker Village although he recognizes their sincerity and fairness of trade. From the perspective of the memoires of the cities, Dickens reveals not only the good sides but also the bad sides of the cities and shows the nature of ideal cities and ideal Christianity.

浮魚類群集(イワシ類)は内湾における主要な漁獲対象種であり,自然的,人為的な環境変動に伴う漁獲量の変動や漁場形成の変化は大きな関心事である.本研究では機械学習の一つであるGradient Boostingを用いて内湾の浮魚群集の分布量を推定する統計モデルを構築し,伊勢・三河湾のカタクチイワシ漁獲量の時空間的分布の推定を行った.モデルは標本漁船による実測結果をよく再現した.

The turning motion of an alpine snow ski is made possible by centripetal force and the moment around the center of mass. Both the force and moment are produced by resistance forces from the surface of the snow. The centripetal forces are obtained by placing the ski's longitudinal axis at an angle inclined away from the velocity vector and simultaneously edging the ski into the snow. A experimental device rotates a compact snow specimen and cuts it using a cutting tool by simulating the edge of a ski. In order that it can be cut while rotating with the attack angle set up in the whole cutting tool, the circular-arc type cutting tool was developed and it used for the experimental device. The force sensor attached in the cutting tool measured three components of snow cutting force, i.e. a horizontal component inverse to the cutting direction, a vertical upward component to the snow surface, and a transverse component vertical to the cutting and vertical direction. The transverse component corresponds to the centripetal force which makes ski's turning motions possible. The result of an experiment showed the effects of cutting speed, attack angle, and edging angle on snow cutting forces. The snow cutting force equations were obtained by applying multiple regression analysis to experimental data.

ブドウの早期成園化と高品質な果実の多収を目的に,灌水同時施肥による超密植栽培システムを開発した.本システムは,根域を制限せずに,10 a当たり800本以上の挿し木苗を超密植し,樹冠下に不透水性マルチシートを設置し,自動灌水制御装置と液肥混入器および点滴灌水チューブを用いて,生育ステージに応じて灌水と施肥を同時に行う方式である.定植2年目には成園並みの果実生産が可能であった.果実品質と収量に及ぼす新梢密度の影響を調査したところ,着果基準を15果房・m−1と設定した場合,新梢密度を10~20本・m−1とすることで,果粒重,糖度および果皮色の優れた果実の多収生産が可能であることが明らかとなった.以上の結果から,本方式での3か年の果実品質と収量から,年間の灌水同時施肥基準を策定した.
