脳動脈解離は,脳梗塞や解離性動脈瘤破綻によるくも膜下出血など,虚血性・出血性脳卒中のいずれの原因にもなる注意すべき脳血管障害である.画像診断の進歩や認識の高まりから診断される機会が増えている.近年,本邦では複数の多施設共同研究で,頭蓋内椎骨動脈解離が多い実態が明らかにされつつある.頭痛や頸部痛を伴う虚血性脳卒中では必ず本疾患を疑い,慎重な問診,診察とともに血管壁を経時的に評価する画像検査が重要である.

This study aims to clarify the actual installing conditions of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems and their operations in public elementary schools based on 568 school data obtained from a nation wide investigation. Some results are shown as follows: 1) Insufficient thermal insulation and air tightness were provided in many school buildings in warm climate areas, 2) Heating systems were provided in almost all rooms but their installing conditions varied with respective areas, 3) Air-conditioning systems for cooling are on the increase in many areas, especially urban areas, and 4) Ventilating systems are not operated under optimum conditions because of inadequate management. We suggest that the building envelope systems should be improved and it is necessary to make guidelines and inform teachers of the essentials of maintenance for HVAC systems for efficient operation.

2011年3月11日に発生した東北地方太平洋沖地震に伴う東京電力福島第一原発事故により大量の放射性物質が環境中に放出された.大気粉塵,土壌,植物などの放射能分析から大気中に放出された核種とおおよその量が見積もられている.一方,地質学・考古学試料について約5万年までの高精度年代測定に利用されている放射性炭素(14C;半減期:5730年)の放出に関しては,その放出の形態や数量はきちんと確認されてはいない. 事故のあった福島第一原発付近への立入は制限されており,採取できる試料には限りがあるが,2012年に,福島第一原発から南に20~30km離れた広野町の海岸付近で海産物などを採取した.また,2011年秋には,福島第一原発から北西に約60km離れた福島大学金谷川キャンパスにおいて植物を採取し,それらの14C濃度を測定した.測定結果からは福島第一原発事故の影響は検出されなかった.

Drugs that are specifically efficacious against SARS-CoV-2 have yet to be established. Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine have garnered considerable attention for their potential to treat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Increasing evidence obtained from completed clinical studies indicates the prospects for chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. More randomized control clinical studies are warranted to determine the feasibility of these two drugs in treating COVID-19.

頭蓋内解離性動脈瘤の報告は増加しているが, 前大脳動脈領域は稀である.今回クモ膜下出血で発症した右前大脳動脈水平部の解離性動脈瘤を経験したので報告する.術中所見ではA1部は紡錘状に拡張して暗赤色を呈しており, 同部をtrappingした.報告されている前大脳動脈解離性動脈瘤32例のうち22例は男性であった.incidentalにみつかった1例を除くとA1部に発生した11例は全例クモ膜下出血にて発症し, 末梢部に発生した20例中16例は脳梗塞で発症した.女性10例中8例はA1部に発生した.本稿では前大脳動脈解離性動脈瘤の特徴について考察する.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the ideological background in the transition of “Greater Finland (Suur-Suomi)” idea by examining the interpretations of Finnish national epic, the Kalevala, focusing on three researchers: Kaarle Krohn, Jalmari Jaakkola and Martti Haavio.Today “Greater Finland” idea is often regarded as “expansionism”, but at first it was a sentiment only by Finnish intellectuals on Finnish “relative tribes”, mainly Karelians living in Russian Karelia adjacent to Finnish eastern border. This sentiment of Finnish “relative tribes”, however, was intended to unite Finnish and Karelians under Russian Empire rule. It was spread around Finnish people through diffusion of the Kalevala by a compiler Elias Lönrrot who gathered oral songs mainly from Karelians in Russian Karelia at the end of 19th century. This developed the theory that Karelians had kept Finnish national epic since ancient times.“Greater Finland” idea had been politicized when Russian Empire shifted policy from appeasement to deprivation of Finnish autonomy, called Russification policy at the end of 19th century. Resistance group, Aktivisti recognized Russian Karelia as a defense area against Russia, and also regarded it as a target of Finnish irredenta. This idea overlapped with independence of Finland after the outbreak of the First World War, which triggered the military action for gaining Russian Karelia just after Finish independence. Meanwhile, before and after the independence of Finland, Finnish folklorist Krohn claimed that Finland had culturally connected to Russian Karelia and Estonia in his studies.On the contrary, Finnish historian Jaakkola, who flourished between World Wars, denied the cultural relations between Finland and Estonia, and stressed the unity of Russian Karelia and Finland in ancient times instead. He also tried to place Finland as the European outpost against the attack of “barbarian Russia”. According to Jaakkola's opinion, heroes in the Kalevala were real people who expedited from Western Finland to Russian Karelia, and settled there. This interpretation had been a popular theory of Karelian origin until advocate of new theory in 1950's : Karelians and Finnish were different origins. His theory was made use of the military negotiation with Germany just before the outbreak of the second Soviet-Finnish War (19411944). Finnish government utilized Jaakkola's study for the justification of Russian Karelia's annexation.After the Second World War, Haavio claimed that Finland had come under the cultural influence of all over the world including Russia, and had had the cultural connection with Russia. Therefore the Kalevala had the nature of international epic. Now his Kalevala study was widely accepted among Finnish society which tried to build a new relationship with Soviet Union for promoting the area cooperation with Russian Karelia.It should be concluded, from what has been said above, that the concept of “Greater Finland” idea was changed from “Unity” to “Separation”, and furthermore to “Cooperation” in the transition of time.

The essence of social education is voluntary and collaborative learning. Staffs at the community learning center, and others involved in social education have been accumulating practices and methods of social education. However, those seem to be no longer applicable due to the traveling and activity restriction posed by the COVID pandemic. On the other hand, social education is expected to contribute to overcome this common crisis. This paper introduces the strategy implemented at Nagano Prefecture to face the regional and social issues caused by the virus. The possibility of social education using online platforms will be discussed to develop new region and society post the COVID pandemic.

蒸留水にNacl 0.03%, KBl 0.01%, CaCl2・2H2O 0.002%, MgCl2・6H2O 0.004%を溶解した調合水におけるF. columarisの生存率は高圧滅菌水道水のそれと同様にきわめて高かった。調合水の各陽イオンの濃度はそれぞれの単独溶解液でのF. columnarisの生存性の最も良かった値であるが, 単独溶解液よりも調合水における生存性の方が明らかに良好であった。これらの実験の結果, 調合水ならびに高圧滅菌水道水は長期間の生存を支持することがわかった。

To create innovative ideas, it is important for designers to monitor thought patterns by reflecting upon their thought structure and then control thought. In this study, we visualized the inference process, which includes deduction, induction, and abduction, as well as the associative process. Subsequently, by connecting them radially along the flow of thought, we employed a method of visualizing the inference process of designers on a two-dimensional plane. We conducted an experiment to visualize a part of the thought of designer using the “inference mapping method.” Consequently, we found out that different cognitive biases occurred in designers' deductive, inductive, abductive, and associative thinking processes. From the technical viewpoint of cognitive science, we studied the phenomena and clarified the structure of bias in each thought process. Finally, we proposed a way to visualize cognitive biases and to consciously eliminate them when designers engage in the creative process.

The sensitivity to drugs, the pH in the medium of extract from intestinal content (MEIC) and the utilization of carbohydrates in the strain isolated from multi-drug-resistant Enterococcus preparations (RP) were compared with those in the strain isolated from conventional Enterococcus prepations (CP). The RP showed higher resistance to penicillin and macrolide antibiotics than the CP, but less resistance to quinolone antibiotics. In the MEIC, the CP decreased the pH more markedly than the RP. Regarding utilization of carbohydrates, both the RP and CP had the similar patterns to the catabolisms of Enterococcus faecium, but different catabolisms were observed between RP and CP.

The triumph of the CDU/CSU at the Bundestagswahl 2013, depends not only on the estimates of voters in regard to Chancellor Merkel, but also on those of the party’s abilities to carry out various policies. After the Bundestagswahl 2013, there are some transformations in both the security and migration policies. There were also transformations in the “fluid five party system”. While there was a hardening of the structure where the CDU/CSU has a one-sided superiority over the SPD in large parties, there continued to be a fluidity in the relation among the smaller parties and this strengthened the fragmentation. The coalition types became more complicated. The FDP lost its role as the “core” of the party system, and it is in crisis as for its “raison d’être.” The 3rd place is given from the FDP to the Greens, albeit it competes with the Leftist parties. The AfD changed from being “the smallest” to a “small” party.

Microsoft Excel® is most popularly used spreadsheet software. Although figures can be drawn using the software, their quality seems to be unsatisfactory for the use in scientific papers or reports. The quality can be improved using Microsoft PowerPoint®, which is also software in Microsoft Office® and is widely used as a presentation tool. A rough figure is prepared based on the data in the Excel, and it is modified to fine one using the PowerPoint. It will be explained how to draw fine figures using both the software.

Purpose: We aimed to evaluate the acute physiological effects of high-load deadlift exercise on the lumbar intervertebral discs using MR diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI).Methods: Fifteen volunteers (11 men and 4 women; 23.2 ± 3.3 years) without lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration performed deadlift exercise (70% of 1 repetition maximum, 6 repetitions, 5 sets, 90 s rest between sets) using a Smith machine. Sagittal MR diffusion-weighted images of the lumbar intervertebral discs were obtained using a 1.5-Tesla MR system with a spine coil before and immediately after the exercise. We calculated apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC; an index of water movement) of the nucleus pulposus from diffusion weighted images at all lumbar intervertebral discs (L1/2 through L5/S1).Results: All lumbar intervertebral discs showed significantly decreased ADC values immediately after deadlift exercise (L1/2, −2.8%; L2/3, −2.1%; L3/4, −2.8%; L4/5, −4.9%; L5/S1, −6.2%; P < 0.01). In addition, the rate of ADC decrease of the L5/S1 disc was significantly greater than those of the L1/2 (P = 0.017), L2/3 (P < 0.01), and L3/4 (P = 0.02) discs.Conclusion: The movement of water molecules within the lumbar intervertebral discs is suppressed by high-load deadlift exercise, which would be attributed to mechanical stress on the lumbar intervertebral discs during deadlift exercise. In particular, the L5/S1 disc is subjected to greater mechanical stress than the other lumbar intervertebral discs.
