がん患者は告知後, 治療中, 再発時, 治療の中止を告げられたときなど多大なストレスに曝露されるためメンタルヘルスの危機にさらされる機会が数多くある. そんな中で, 希死念慮を呈することも少なくない. 疫学研究では, がん患者の自殺率は一般健康人と比べて2倍程度高く, そのリスクが最も高いのは診断後間もない時期であり, 男性, 診断時の進行がん, 頭頸部がんなどが危険因子とされている.  多くの危険因子が知られているものの, 危険因子の把握のみが自殺予防にとって最も重要なわけではないことが最近の多くの研究で指摘されている. 本稿で紹介するJoinerの対人関係理論は, これまでの自殺に関する研究知見を包括的に説明し, かつ臨床においてリスク評価および介入までを連続的に提示しているモデルとして期待されている. 希死念慮を呈したがん患者に対して, その背景にある苦痛を理解しようとする共感的な態度が必須であることはいうまでもない.

本報告書では、まずアステカ族の教育の全体像、その人間観、教育観を概観するたあに、メキシコの教育史の本のなかから「アステカ族の教育」を記述した部分を紹介する。この本は、メキシコの師範学校用教育史教科書として編集されたものであり、今日のメキシコにおいて、自国の教育史のルーツのひとっともいえるアステカ族の教育の遺産がどのように認識されており、通史的なメキシコ教育史のなかにどのように位置づけられているかを知るうえでも興味ぶかいものがある。っぎに、メキシコ国立自治大学の歴史・人類学教授ロペス・アウスティン博士が編集した、『古代アステカ教育関係史料集』(L6pezAustinA.,LaEducaci6ndelosAntiguosNahuas1,2.1985)の主要部分を翻訳、紹介する。この史料集は、16世紀初頭の征服、植民地化の初期の段階おいて、まだそれほど破壊されていないインディオ文明に直接的に接触したスペイン人たちがその文明について書きしるした記録や書簡、さらにインディオたち自身が書き残した資料(アステカ族の独特な記録法である絵文書、インディオ言語のローマ字表記やスペイン語習得によるみずからの歴史の記録)など膨大な資料のなかから、当時のインディオの教育に関連する記述部分をひろいだして集成したものであり、アステカ族の教育に関する一次史料に直接的かっ効率的にアクセスするのにきわめて有用なものである。

わが国において唯一,動物用医薬品として製造承認を得ている魚類および甲殻類の麻酔剤であるオイゲノール製剤の「FA100」を用い,近年普及しているワクチンの注射を想定して,マダイ,ブリ,カンパチ,シマアジ,イシダイおよびイシガキダイ稚魚を対象魚とし,「FA100」の麻酔効果と魚に対する安全性について検討した。その結果,供試した魚種や魚体重は異なるが,供試魚の安全性およびワクチン注射の作業時間などを考慮して100~200ppmの希釈が適正な麻酔濃度であることが分かった。ただし,カンパチで100gを超える場合には,麻酔から回復することなく死亡する供試魚が多くなる傾向が認められたことなどから,ワクチン注射の場合には,実際の作業現場にて,本研究を参考にし,事前に最適な麻酔濃度,麻酔時間を設定して行う必要がある。

How do we come to trust strangers? Previous studies have shown that participants trust smiling faces more than they trust nonsmiling faces. In daily communication, both facial and linguistic information are typically presented simultaneously. In this context, what kind of person will be judged as more trustworthy? In our experiment, 52 individuals participated as donors in a Trust Game involving many partners. Prior to the game, participants were shown photographs of their partners' faces (smiling/nonsmiling) as well as answers to questions indicating their partners' level of trustworthiness (neutral/somewhat trustworthy/trustworthy). Participants then decided how much money to give to each partner. The results showed that more trust was placed in partners providing trustworthy answers than in those providing neutral answers. Smiling female partners were trusted more than nonsmiling female partners. In addition, smiling partners were less trusted than nonsmiling partners only when the answers were trustworthy. These results suggest that individuals displaying too many signs of trustworthiness can actually be viewed with distrust.

This essay traces on the evolvements of Russian political class over the issue of Ukraine from the demise of the USSR to 2014 crisis, culminating in the annexation of the Crimea peninsula. Russian attitudes towards the rebirth of Ukraine nationalism were ambiguous, especially among elite level. The August coup against the Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev took place in Ukraine, where its nationalistic elements were independent oriented, while the conservatives, including the military industrial complex were negative. After the December 1991 referendum, where opinions were in favor for independence, Leonid Kravchuk, once ideological secretary of the Ukraine communist party could rely on the support of the West oriented voice of western Ukraine, where European and Catholic influence was vocal. From the Russian point of view, this region was alien from the Orthodox tradition and was never been part of the Russian Empire. Thus, Ukraine as the nation state was weak and far from united as political identity was concerned. Economy was also divided between agrarian west and the east, where Soviet type of military industrial complex was dominant. This east-west divide caused political instability in Ukraine, that was revealed when Kravchuk was replaced by Kuchima who first relied on the support of Russian speaking east, though he eventually turned to the west. Moscow was particularly concerned the fate of the Black Sea fleet and Crimea, where Russians were dominant and never belonged to Ukraine until 1954, when Nikita Khrushchev, Ukrainian oriented Soviet leader changed the status of Crimea from Russia to Ukraine. Though Russian President Boris Yel’tsin was in favor for the Ukraine status quo, his nationalistic minded semi-oppositionists like Moscow Mayor Luzhkov were against the Ukraine position overt the fleet and Crimea. It was only pragmatism of Yevgeny Primakov, Foreign Minister, who could pass the bill on the partnership in 1997. New President Vladimir Putin was more oriented Russian nationalism, and was particularly against the color revolution, when western oriented President Yushchenko won over the East oriented Yanukovich in a 2004 election. East-West divide, coupled with the corruption and ungovernavility, became Kremlins worry on Ukraine. Still they succeeded in winning Yanukovich victory in the following election and could deal over the 25 years continuation of the Black Sea Fleet, in turn for cheaper gas supply in 2010. Ukraine thus became a grand over which domestic East-West divide was coupled by the influence of the NATO-EU and Moscow contested. The Maidan revolution was thus seen from Kremlins nationalists oriented policy makers to be an attempt to cut the influence of Russia over Ukraine. The Izborskii club or another religious-Orthodox oriented politicians were thus backing sudden policy changes of the President Putin, who took Maidan revolution as another attempt of regime change by the West, and eventually annexed the Crimea Peninsula. Thus, in turn, brought about the civil war situation, particularly in the east Ukraine, that was already uncontrolled by neither Moscow nor Kiev authority.

中国人の日本留学スタイルは保護者の精神的な支えや経済的な援助をあまり受けられない「放任留学」から保護者の精神的な支え及び経済的な援助を多く受けている「援助留学」へ転換している。通信手段の発達及び保護者の経済力の向上がその転換を促す要因だと考えられる。特に無料SNSは保護者と留学中の子どもとのコミュニケーションの道具となると同時に、大学と保護者の連携にも役に立っている。大学はSNSを通じて教育方針、教育内容、子どもの現状などの様々な情報を保護者と共有しながら、必要に応じて留学生の教育における保護者の協力を求めることができる。保護者との連携は、留学生の主体的な学習力の向上につながる可能性がある。

本論文の目的は,K. J. Gergenが提唱する社会構成主義(social constructionism)の立場および考え方に依拠したリーダーシップ研究である「関係アプローチ」を批判的に検討し理論的課題を指摘することにある.本論文では,従来的なリーダー中心アプローチに指摘される還元主義的な見方に依拠する方法論的限界を乗り越える立場として,関係アプローチの理論的課題を議論した.関係アプローチには,社会的プロセスを捉えるための研究方法論的な議論が不足しているという理論的課題がある.この理論的課題を解決する研究方法論として,関係アプローチと同じ社会構成主義の理論的前提を共有する組織ディスコース研究に着目し方法論としての可能性を探索した.

A mechanics-of-materials deflection analysis of wooden baseball bats at impact is developed. Consider the bat which is simply supported a point of grip and elsewhere free to rotate, and the bat is subjected to the impact force with ball and the inertia force due to the sudden change of the angular velocity in swing. The static force balance gives the relation between the impact force and the inertia force, but the magnitude is left undetermined. By assuming that the impact duration is 1 ms, we get the solutions of the energy conservation equation as a function of hitting point. The present model provides the evidence for the COP (center of percussion) to be located very close to but not exactly in the sweet spot where the kinetic energy of bats can be most effectively transferred to the outgoing velocity of batted ball. Additionally, the deflection analysis determines the bending stress imposed at given velocities of bat and ball. It is shown that the largest bending stress is always located at the top of grip length irrespectively to hitting point. One hundred fifty broken bats in Hokkaido University play fields were collected and fracture surfaces were examined.

In Japan, as a Social Security Reform measure against workforce decrease by 2040, robotic devices for nursing care and medication intake support have been utilised. However, evaluation reports about the robots and studies about their evaluation by patients are lacking. Therefore, we studied medication status with robotic assistance as well as patients’ evaluation of usability of robotic assistance. Participants were twelve patients whose median age was 73.0 (min 39.0-max 82.0), the median of number of drugs of a maximum intake day, which means the one of the week in which drugs are taken most, was 10.0 (min 4.0-max 17.0), and the median of maximum number of times to take drugs per day was 3.0 (min 1.0-max 4.0). Four were suspected of having dementia, based on the evaluation of their cognitive function tests. No patient missed any dose during the utilisation of the support device in taking medicine. All patients reported that the conditions of taking medicine and the recognition of the time to take it were improved. Therefore, the incorporation of support devices in taking medicine is expected to avoid missing to doses.

博物館の乾燥菌類標本のカビ汚染について調査を行ったところ,カビはDNAとして検出されるが,現在生存していないことが明らかになった.そこで,過去に採集,乾燥,標本の作製,保存のどの段階で,どの程度カビ汚染が起きたかについて,博物館に収蔵されているAmanita属36標本のカサの部分を用いて検証した.手法としては,2種のカビの作成したプライマーを用いて,各検体のカビ数をリアルタイムPCRで測定し,その胞子数を調査した.得られた結果は次の通りであった.①両種の胞子数は標本ごとに桁違いのバラツキがあった.②検出されたA. penicillioidesの胞子数は,標本の乾重量100 mg当たり平均約1000個, Eurotium sp. は約7個であった.③結果は,採集時からの様々な過程で,湿り気が発生し,標本上にカビが一時的に発生したことを示唆している.なお,産出された胞子数は標本の古さ,あるいは目視でのカビの有無とは関係ないので,保存前の段階で汚染がしばしば起きたと推測される.
