There is a hypothesis that the English Premier League clubs, whose broadcast rights are over 50% of their total revenue, fail to place importance on individual customers. At the same time, there is another hypothesis that Japanese League clubs, whose broadcast rights are limited - i.e. about 21 billion yen a year is divided among 55 clubs - should consider that individual customers are important with regard to their managerial judgement. This study analyzes football clubs' Mission Statements regarding who is targeted in order to create values or solve the problems they may have on a daily basis. Charters of 20 clubs of Premier League and Creeds of 55 clubs of Japanese League were investigated by utilizing a KH Coder, which is suitable for data analysis of words of Japanese and English. This contributed to the discovery of the fact that it is the Premier League, rather than the Japanese League, that uses a lot of words such as “supporter,” which refer to individual customers. Despite the fact that in the Premier League at least 10 billion yen per club is guaranteed from broadcast rights and revenue from individual customers is under 20% of total revenue, they share their will to promise supporters to provide values that meet their potential needs through mission statements such as Charters. This might be why very high average attendances are realized and an attractive market has been established. On the other hand, the Japanese League - about which it has been pointed out that “there is no awareness of customer's definition in Japanese professional sports management (Machida, 2016)”- should review and rebuild its mission statement by using appropriate words, such as those used by the Premier League. It is argued that this is one of the important factors which will influence the future development of Japanese football.

質問紙調査を行った結果, 虫嫌いの子どもの親は虫嫌いである割合が高く, 虫好きの子どもの親は虫好きである割合が高いことがわかった。また, 虫好きと虫嫌いでイメージする虫の種類に違いがあることがわかった。さらに, 男女を問わず, 小さい時は虫が好きであり, ある年齢を境に虫嫌いになる傾向があり, その年齢が男女で異なることがわかった。この結果をもとに, 虫嫌いになる過程を仮説として設定することができた。

This paper proposes the measurement method of 3D posture using inertial sensors. The proposed method estimates the 3D posture (Roll-Pitch-Yaw angles in local coordinate) using the 3-axis angular velocity and the 3-axis acceleration. The 3D posture is compensated for the drift error of gyro sensor output by the translational and gravity accelerations of accelerometer output. The nonlinear state equation and the nonlinear measurement equation were established to estimate 3D posture. The Extended Kalman filter and the Unscented Kalman filter are applied to these equations. The measurement experiment was conducted to clarify the accuracy of proposed method using the experimental setup installing the rotary encoders. The results of the Unscented Kalman filter indicated higher than those by the Extended Kalman filter. In addition, the proposed method estimated the 3D posture compensating the drift error of gyro sensor in the measurement experiment generating the translational acceleration. Therefore, the proposed method can be used for the measurement of body motion.

ネコの尿管閉塞に対する療として、SUB(Subcutaneous ureteral bypass)はスタンダードな治療手段であるが、その多くがX線透視下で実施されている。我々はSUBの設置を、超音波ガイド下および術中単純X線撮影(非透視下)で行っており、今回はその13症例の治療成績、合併症、予後について検討した。その結果、超音波ガイド下におけるSUB設置においても腎数値は従来の報告と同様に改善し、臨床症状も改善した。合併症に関しては、今回の検討では従来の報告に比較すると、術後感染率がやや高かったが、長期的な予後は良好であり、超音波ガイド下でのSUB設置はネコの尿管閉塞に対する有効な一手段と考えられた。また、SUBのカテーテル閉塞防止に関する検討として、食餌内容変化と尿比重の関連を検討したが、症例数が少なく今回は明らかな結果は得られず、更なる検討が必要と考えられた。

The purpose of this study was to construct Jung's Psychological Types Scale (JPTS), and to examine its reliability and validity. First, 87 pairs of items were written, and their content validity examined by two Jungian analysts, who judged 74 pairs of them to be appropriate. In Study 1 542 undergraduates, 245 men and 297 women, responded to the interim scale. Exploratory factor analysis found three factors: extraversion-introversion (E-I), thinking-feeling (T-F), and sensation-intuition (S-N). Results of additional factor analyses indicated that the three factors were almost orthogonal. Then, nine item pairs each for the subscales were selected for the JPTS. The scale had high alpha and test-retest reliability coefficients. In Study 2, concurrent validity of the scale was examined in terms of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Form M. The correlations showed meaningful patterns for concurrent validity. In addition, the scale was evaluated in terms of NEO Five Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI), a five-factor model (FFM) scale. The result showed that the three factors of E-I, T-F, and S-N corresponded to Extraversion (positive), Agreeableness (negative), and Openness (negative) of NEO-FFI, respectively.

Also the study is to identify their induction to the racial ingenuity and their admission into their indigenous traditions. The information, mainly obtained from voyage logs, expeditionary reports and missionary diaries is collated with modem research findings.

We examined fragmentary human skeletal remains from Escalon Cave near Surigao City, northeastern Mindanao, the Philippines, with respect to the morphology of bones and teeth, radiocarbon dating, and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) haplogroup. These remains contained parts of the left temporal bone, the right humerus, the right femur, the upper right first and second premolars, and the first molar. They are presumed to belong to an early-middle adult male, whom we named the Escalon Man. Using the femur sample, we estimated the 14C date of the individual at 2692 ± 39 years BP (uncalibrated). His stature, estimated from the maximum femur length, was about 170 cm—this makes him much taller than the Aeta and the Mamanwa, who are indigenous negrito hunter-gatherers of the Philippines. The femur is sturdy and shows well-developed muscle markings. Numerous narrow grooves on the humerus were found in close proximity to each other, but we could not prove whether these are artificial cut marks made by humans with sharp-edged tools or scratches from some non-human entity. The mesiodistal crown diameters of the molar and premolars are large and resemble those of native Oceanians. Analysis of mtDNA haplogroup was carried out using a DNA sample extracted from a molar. A next-generation sequencer was used to determine the nucleotide sequences of the mtDNA genome. The results indicated that the Escalon Man belongs to the haplogroup E1a1a, which is known to be the marker of Austronesian-speaking agriculturist populations that originated in Taiwan and spread southwards through the Philippines to the Western Pacific, since about 4000 BP. Thus, the Escalon Man was likely a member of the late Neolithic or early Metal Age agriculturist peoples who settled in northeastern Mindanao and who may be the ancestors of the territory’s present-day occupants, such as the Manobo.

本研究は,授業者のアイトラッカー(視線計測装置)の活用が,授業者の授業力向上に効果的であるかどうかを検証することを目的とした。授業者にアイトラッカーを使用してもらい,録画した画像を見ながらインタビューを行い,修正版グラウンデッド・セオリー・アプローチによる分析を行った。また,動画編集ソフトを用いて画像を静止画として抽出し,カテゴリに分類した。これら二つを分析した結果,視線には,授業者の癖,意図的な視線,事後に意味づけられた視線の存在があることが明らかとなった。また,授業内で,気になる生徒が継続的に変化していた。この結果は,ビデオカメラによる定点撮影では困難であった授業者の授業時の視線とその意図の関係性を明らかにするものであり,意図的には気づくことができない指導を視覚化する上でアイトラッカーの使用が有用であることが示された。

Walking football was born in United Kingdom around 2011, that is forbidden to running. In recent years, walking football has become increasingly popular as a sport that diverse people can enjoy together. However, it is not clarified exercise intensity and how they feel after playing walking football. We aimed to determine the intensity when playing walking football and investigated how mood change. Twenty-six men and women (18 males, 8 females) out of those who participated in walking football event agreed to the present study. Heart rate (HR) was measured using wearable device with photoplethysmography when playing walking football. Metabolic equivalents (METs) was assessed using a triaxial accelerometer worn on the waist. McGill pain questionnaire was used to assess pain sites and number. To assess change in mood, short version of physical activity enjoyment scale (sPACES) was used before and after playing walking football. Borg scale was measured before and after walking football. The HR and METs were respectively as follows; male, 111.9 ± 11.4 bpm and 4.3 ± 0.6METs; female, 118.6 ± 16.2 bpm and 4.8 ± 0.7METs. There was no significant difference between men and women in both HR and METs during walking football. The sPACES was indicated significantly positive changes in mood, and Borg scale was significantly increased after playing walking football, without increasing acute or chronic pain. The walking football is safe and moderate-intensity sports and induce positive changes in mood.

During a taxonomic study of the snapping shrimp genus Alpheus from Japan and the Gulf of Thailand, it has been found that two species have been confounded under A. digitalis De Haan, 1844, which was originally described based on a single specimen possessing abnormal chelipeds. Differences between the two species are found in both morphology and coloration. Careful examination of published information of the holotype and supplemental material enable us to establish the true identity of A. digitalis. The new species, A. longiforceps, can be distinguished from A. digitalis by the more slender major chela with a sinuous, rather than convex, flexor margin, the longer male minor chela with a more elongate dactylus, and the possession of a single, rather than two, obliquely transverse white bands on the carapace and of a conspicuous dark brown spot on the lateral surface of the fourth abdominal tergum.

This study was undertaken to find the salt tolerant histamine-forming bacteria in commercial rice-bran pickles of sardine. Eight isolates of histamine-forming bacteria were found in the rice-bran pickles of sardine and shown to be salt tolerant bacteria and mesophiles. Five out of the 8 isolates were nonhalophiles. Especially, 2 out of these 5 isolates produced large amounts of histamine. All isolates were cocci, Gram positive, and non-motile bacteria. They were identified as Staphylococcus biologically. A remarkable histamine producer, strain No. 7 was mixed into a histidine broth added with 10% and 12% NaCl. The histamine level reached 100mg/100ml after 3 days at 37°C. Strain No. 7 seemed to be related to the accumulation of histamine in commercial rice-bran pickles of sardine.

日本酒復権のシリーズ第2回目は「味覚」に着目し, 日本酒を発展させるためには既存清酒と多様化清酒の住み分けが必要と唱える。既存清酒では旨口と熟成の味わいにスポットを当て, 燗酒のあり方を含めて述べられている。また, 多様化清酒ではこれまでにはなかったまったく新しい味わいが必要であるとし, それを低アルコール清酒に求め, 具体的な品質設計のモデルが提案されている。

This article expands some historical perspectives on “popular sport” based on the following three case studies: (1) Interactions between foreign sport and rural sumo wrestling in the village of Shiojiri, Nagano prefecture, during the Taisho Democracy Period. (2) The historical development of traditional Japanese boat racing in the area known as Tamaeura in Hagi, Yamaguchi prefecture. (3) Modern reconstruction of folklore and physical competition following the agrarian revolt known as the “Chichibu Jiken” in Saitama prefecture in 1884. Having to compete with festive folklore, the main emphasis of physical education and sport in modern Japan was placed on civilization and enlightenment. Thus, the establishment aimed to develop thrifty and hard-working citizens who served the state and capital. However, there were moments when opposition, deviation and autonomy occurred in the daily lives of the masses, and it was clear that they could not be controlled unitarily. For the masses, traditional physical competition and sport were not only hobbies, forms of entertainment or means of improving self-discipline or physique, but also provided a medium for expressing their desire for solidarity and social growth. What is “popular sport”? It is not a solid cultural entity but a complete panorama of physical competition and sport from the viewpoint of the masses. The “history of popular sport” aims to analyze and represent this phenomenon historically in relation to the total sphere of daily life. In such research, the concept of the masses has significance in terms of “method”, “standpoint” and “strategy”.

Platurocypta punctum (Stannius) (Diptera: Mycetophilidae) was firstly recorded from Japan based on the adult specimens emerged from a fruiting body of Fuligo septica (L.) (Myxomycetes: Physarales: Physaraceae). We observed the larvae feeding on spores within the fruiting body at Kamigamo Experimental Forest in Kyoto, central Japan. P. punctum may be closely associated with slime molds.

1人1台タブレット型PCの学習環境を有する高等学校において,学習用SNSを通年利用した.本稿では,この通年利用による高校生の学習態度の変化を調べた.このとき,生徒全員に協調的課題遂行にあたっての他の生徒の貢献度を評価させることで,彼らを貢献群と一般群に分けたうえで,学習態度の変化を分析した.その結果,貢献群においては,教師との交流による自己効力感やライティング方略に特徴が見られるとともに,ネットワーク上の交流を楽しむことに,経年で変化が生じていることが示された.一方,学級の担任教師へのインタビュー調査から,彼女は批判的思考が発揮できるようなグラウンド・ルールを設けていることが確認された.これらの結果から,学習用SNSの通年利用による生徒の学習態度の変化の特徴,および生徒が学習用SNS上で学習を進めていく際の教師による生徒支援の工夫についての示唆を得た.
