The present study investigated the effects of wearing a non-woven face mask and performing a calculation task, while walking, on gait pattern, breathlessness, and calculation performance. Twenty-one healthy adult males walked 4.0 km/h and 6.0 km/h on a treadmill with and without wearing a face mask. A calculation task using a smartphone was added to the gait task, and the participants were asked to perform two-digit addition calculation tasks displayed on the screen as quickly and accurately as possible. Heart rate, perceived exercise intensity, breathlessness, and cadence during gait tasks were measured. Although wearing the mask did not significantly affect heart rate or cadence during gait, breathlessness and perceived exercise intensity were significantly increased. When the calculation task was performed during gait, wearing the mask significantly decreased the correct answer rate, although the number of responses was not affected. Wearing the mask therefore reduced the calculation performance during gait. These results suggest that wearing a mask during gait may increase breathlessness and may worsen mental demands such as performing a calculation task, even if it does not affect physiological responses or gait patterns. As walking in daily life requires a variety of cognitive/mental demands, the impact of wearing a mask on the implementation of these demands may need to be considered.

Nasogastric tube syndrome (NGTS) is a rare syndrome that causes abduction dysfunction in both vocal folds after gastric tube insertion, and the clinical condition is poorly understood.We herein report a case of NGTS treated with larynx electromyography. An 89-year-old woman suddenly presented with stridor and dysphagia during medical treatment for ileus. Although the patient had a history of left vocal fold palsy of the paramedian position after aortic surgery, the right vocal fold was located medially and slightly dysfunctional, and the bilateral arytenoid regions were swollen on flexible larynx endoscopy. Because of the high glottic stenosis, emergency tracheostomy was performed. Two days later, the right vocal fold began to gradually move, and this motion improved substantially one week later. Therefore, she was diagnosed with NGTS. Larynx electromyography reduced the interference pattern in the right thyroarytenoid muscle. Neuroparalysis was also suggested as a pathosis of NGTS.

料理レシピのような創作や操作手順の説明文書では,なぜそれをするのかといった,手順にとどまらない付加的な情報が文書の有用性を向上させる.しかし,そのような文書を書く経験に乏しい著者にとっては何を書くべきか考えることすら難しい.そこで本論文では自然言語処理技術により,調理手順そのものではない付加的説明文を自動生成する手法を検討する.我々は先行研究で,料理レシピの読者に役に立つ付加的情報が「代替品・アレンジ・調理工程の理由・適した材料・注意点・盛り付け」に類別されることを実験的に明らかにした.本研究ではユーザが入力した文に対し,クックパッドデータセットで学習したGPT-2モデルにより文を生成し,それらにBERTに基づく分類モデルを適用して上記の6種類に属する文を選出し,提案する仕組みを構築した.更にユーザビリティ評価として,100名の実験参加者に実際のレシピにおける冒頭の2文を提示し,それらに続く実際の文と,それらから提案手法により生成された後続文のどちらを採用するか選ばせる実験を行った.その結果48.2%で生成文が選択され,提案手法の生成文が実際の文と同等程度に利用されることが示された.

Cross laminated timber (CLT) is a new type of engineered wood panel consist of several layers of structural lumber boards stacked crosswise at 90° angles and glued together on their faces. It is possible to produce CLT panels of 3 m wide, 12 m long, and 270 mm thick. CLT is light-weight material which the unit weight of CLT made of Japanese cedar is about 1/6 of reinforced concrete, therefore it's has advantage in terms of the transport and construction works. The authors consider using CLT elements for bridge deck replacement instead of a concrete deck slab. The overview of the design and construction of the bridge deck replacement of an existing bridge using CLT srlabs is reported herein.

This report explains the concept of arts in health in the UK is and how it is implemented and financially managed by which organizations in British hospitals. In the UK, artistic activities are understood to contribute to the comfort and recovery of patients and the people around them. These activities are offered through partnerships between the government and arts in health organizations. Arts in health activities are diverse. We can classify them into eight fields, including arts in psychotherapy, arts on prescription, participatory arts programs for specific patient groups, arts in healthcare technology, arts-based training for staff, general arts activities in everyday life, arts in the healthcare environment, and arts in health promotion. These activities are offered strategically with specific objectives and targets. The targets are not only patients but also the people around the patient, such as a patient's family, visitors, medical staff, and citizens. While British hospitals have profited from various artistic activities in healthcare since the 1970s, most Japanese hospitals do not use them. This is due to the Japanese belief that medical treatment by experts is the most important function of a hospital, not recuperation. UK arts in health organizations are classified into four types of organization in partnership with hospitals: the internal section of National Healthcare Service (NHS) hospital type, the hospital charity type, the exclusive to specific NHS hospital type, and the independent type. An arts in health organization has three functions, including arts in health activities, research and development (investment, provide grants, development of resources, and investigation on efficacy), and organizational management (fund raising, public relations, and report). The importance of these three functions differs depending on the social and historical background of the organization. The three leading hospitals in the UK—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Royal London Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital—are filled with diverse visual art work collections of museum quality, selected by an art manager. These collections are installed to enhance the well-being of the people who use the hospital. Information about the practices in these three hospitals demonstrates the benefits and the costs of arts in health. These three hospitals have specific art management organizations, which provide various art programs in their hospitals, conduct research in collaboration with universities and other researchers, and manage finance and promotion to sustain their activities. They work for their own specific hospitals, but they possess autonomous human and financial resources. In the UK, the intervention of art in healthcare provides useful health outcomes, such as enhanced feelings of happiness and well-being, and the reduction of national medical costs. This view is shared by the government, policymakers, NHS staff, and arts in health organizations. Today, artistic activities are developing in Japanese hospitals. The UK model provides an excellent example of good practice, especially how to implement the autonomous management of Japanese arts in health activities.

In Japan 14 species in 21 genera of Carboniferous trilobites were known in 1980 and 22 species in 11 genera of the Permian ones in 1984. Adding a few species described since then, the Permo-Carboniferous trilobites of Japan total about 70 species at present. They are described from 18 horizons, namely 11 and 7 horizons respectively for the Carboniferous and Permian ones. They are compared with the faunas of the Mongolian geosyncline, Hwangho and Yangtze basins and Southeast Asia. While the Mongolian sea retreated from the west side through the periods, the route of migration was maintained toward the Mediterranean sea through the Himalayan geosyncline until the end of the Palaeozoic era. Some trilobites of Japan reveal relationship further toward the Australian and North American sides.

公立学校においても多文化背景で育つ子どもが在籍し,日本語指導の必要な児童生徒は増加傾向にある。日本の政策や経済状況により共生が広がる今,誰もが安心して教育を受けることができるための支援はどうあるべきかを問い直し,取組実践を再評価することが求められる。エンパワーメント理論を用い,小学校就学時に多文化背景家庭を支援する取組を調査した結果,学校と地域支援団体が協働してマッチした支援を提供し家庭を勇気づけていた。1年の継続観察による具体事例を分析し,家庭の意識化により子どもが本来の力を取り戻す場を得たこと,学校教員が自己効力感をもったことが確認され,「協働的社会」の実現へ向けた取組の道筋が考察された。支援者と被支援者の意識に着目して就学初期支援に組み込まれるエンパワーメントの様相を明らかにし,公的な支援構築に向け支援の継続モデルを提案した。

運動誘発性筋痙攣の要因として, 筋疲労や脱水などが挙げられているが, その発現メカニズムの詳細は明らかでない.そこで本研究では, 筋痙攣の生じやすさを調べる「筋痙攣テスト」を考案し, その妥当性について検証すると共に, それらを用いて, 筋痙攣に対する筋疲労および脱水の影響を明らかにする事を目的とした.20名に対して筋痙攣テストを行った結果, 普段, 筋痙攣が起こりやすい全員に筋痙攣が誘発され, 筋痙攣の経験がほとんど無い者には誘発されなかった.よって, 筋痙攣テストにより筋痙攣の起こりやすさをスクリーニングできると考えられる.100回の膝関節屈曲運動後に, 主働筋である運動肢のハムストリングスで筋痙攣は誘発されにくくなり, 運動肢の足底の筋群では筋痙攣が生じやすくなった.従って, 運動によって筋痙攣の誘発率は高まるが, 筋疲労がその要因である可能性は低いと考えられる.また, 体重の3%に相当する脱水によって, 足底の筋群で筋痙攣が生じやすくなった.脱水が筋痙攣の要因である可能性は高いと考えられるが, その詳細なメカニズムは今後の検討課題である.

A rotary tableting machine is used for the continuous tableting process. Tableting conditions often result in capping, leading to serious problems during production. Several studies have been conducted to predict the tablet capping tendency. However, as most previous studies were conducted using a compaction simulator, there is a lack of technology that can be readily applied during actual production. Therefore, the present study aimed to develop a novel method for predicting tablet capping in a rotary tableting machine. We hypothesized that capping occurs when residual stress of the tablet inside a die exceeds the critical stress immediately before ejection. Residual stress was evaluated by measuring the in-line die-wall pressure in a rotary tableting machine. Additionally, critical stress was estimated from the tablet strength inside the die using the Rumpf’s equation. The critical and residual stresses were compared to determine the capping tendency to some extent. The findings of this study will substantially contribute to the rapid detection of tablet capping during tablet production.

This research aims to identify key odorants in withering-flavored green tea. Application of the aroma extract dilution analysis using the volatile fraction of green tea and withering-flavored green tea revealed 25 and 35 odor-active peaks with the flavor dilution factors of≥4, respectively. 4-mercapto-4-methylpentan-2-one, (E)-2-nonenal, linalool, (E,Z)-2,6-nonadienal and 3-methylnonane-2,4-dione were key odorants in green tea with the flavor dilution factor of≥16. As well as these 5 odorants, 1-octen-3-one, β-damascenone, geraniol, β-ionone, (Z)-methyljasmonate, indole and coumarine contributed to the withering flavor of green tea.
