環境放射能の観点から能登半島地震発生前後の放射能関連のデータの解析を試みた.解析したのは,輪島市西二又地区で採取した大気浮遊塵中の^<210>Pb,輪島沖50kmに位置する舳倉島のラドン濃度,地震発生後の4月21日から西二又地区で連続測定を実施した空間γ線レベルの3項目である.その結果,地震発生約3週間前から大気浮遊塵試料のラドンの娘核種^<210>Pbの濃度が増加し,地震直前にピークに達した後に低下に転じ,約2週間後にほぼ平常値に回復していたことが分かった.舳倉島のラドンには地震の影響は見られなかったが,西二又における空間γ線レベルはラドンに由来すると考えれる高い値が約6週間後も続き5月中頃に平常値に戻ったことが明らかになった.

The purpose of this study was to identify drugs with a risk of causing Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS),toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) and drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome (DIHS) and the risk factors involved.From the CARPIS (Case Reports of Adverse Drug Reactions and Poisoning Information System) database,which contains 40,000 case reports of adverse drug reactions,we determined 258 cases (case group) matching the criteria for SJS/TEN/DIHS stated by the Japanese Ministry of Health,Labour and Welfare.We also selected 774 control cases (control group) which were sex- and age- matched (±1)with the case group.Next,various data were compared between the case group and the control group and the results analyzed statistically.In this regard,logistic regression analysis identified 2 drugs - carbamazepine (odds ratio : OR=5.21,95% confidence interval : 95% CI=2.68-10.06)and acetaminophen (OR=3.41,95% CI=1.12-10.51)that were associated with a significant elevation of the risk of SJS and TEN.Further,mexiletine hydrochloride (OR=205.48,95% CI=28.04-2330.89)and diaminodiphenylsulfone (OR=981.56,95% CI=94.84-25212.82),were found to be associated with a significant elevation of the risk of DIHS.By identifying certain risk factors for SJS,TEN and DIHS,the results of the present study would be useful in preventing severe drug reactions.

We experienced congenital anomalies of the cervical spine among 4961 patients in our clinic.These anomalies were analyzed 77 cases of congenital cervical vertebral fusion (C2-C3: 28, C5-C6: 13, C3-4: 12, Occ-C1: 9 and others), 14 cases of spina bifida occulta, 125 cases of posterior ponticle of atlas, and one case of os odontoideum.Among congenital cervical vertebral fusion 14 cases of myelopathy were observed, of which 4 cases were operated.Congenital fusion of lower cervical vertebrae affected commonly degeneration of adjacent vertebral disc.Congenital fusion of the occiput and the first vertebra is more frequently complicated with basilar impression and atlantoaxial subluxation.

計算機科学を学ぶ学生にとってオペレーティングシステム(以下OS)の理解は必須である。しかし従来のテキスト、講義による学習では、OSの動作が見えず、非同期で実行が行われるので、学習者はOSの動作と構造の対応がイメージしにくい。このような問題に対して、我々は可視化を中心としたOS学習、教育を支援する環境を提案した。この研究はブラックボックス化しているOSを可視化という手段によって、OSの機能、構造を表示し、教育、学習支援を行う環境を提供することで、学習者の理解を促進させることが目的である。本教育支援環境では、特に重要なOSの概念から教育支援を行い、また可視化部分を可視化モジュールとして独立させることで可視化環境の構造に柔軟さを与えている。これにより学習者のレベルに応じた学習を行うことを可能にする。我々はプロセス管理、メモリ管理について実現し、マルチプログラミングの概念、プロセスとメモリとの協調の概念などの学習が可能となった。また、本学情報工学科におけるOSの講義においてデモンストレーションを行い、評価を行った。The understanding of operating system (OS) is indispensable for the student who learns computer science. But, the execution of the OS and the correspondence of the structure are hard for a learner to image because the movement of the OS can't be visualized and a usual textbook and learning by the lecture are executed by the event that occurs asynchronously. An environment to support the OS learning that utilized visualization is designed and implemented. The function of the OS is indicated, and a purpose is to make it promote learner's understanding by providing the environment where it is brought up and learning is supported by the means of the visualization. Education is supported from the operating system concepts, and a flexible visualization environment is provided in this education support environment by making a visualization part become independent as a visualization module. The matter that the learning that depended on a learner's level by this is done is made possible. It is animated about the process and the virtual memory, and learning such as a concept of multi-programming and the cooperation with the process and the memory management became possible. Moreover, evaluation was tested at the lecture on the OS in our compute science course, and the validity of this system was confirmed.

症例は38才,主婦.身長156cm,体重65kg.満月様顔貌,中心性肥満,高血圧を示し, Cushing症候群が疑われ当科へ入院した.尿中170HCS高値,尿中17KS正常で,血漿cortisolは常時高値で日内リズムは消失し,血漿ACTHは常時測定感度以下であつた. dexamethasone 2mgおよび8mg負荷で共に血漿cortisol,尿中170HCSの抑制はみられず, metyrapone 3g負荷でも尿中170HCSは増加反応を示さなかつた.また, CTscan,副腎シンチ,血管造影等各種画像診断にて両側副腎腫瘍が疑われた.手術にて右副腎に25×21mm,左副腎に18×14mmの腫瘍を摘出し,組織学的に共に腺腫と診断された.

嗅覚順応の時間依存性については、感覚的強度は指数関数的に減少すると報告されてきた。しかし、最近、持続した臭気に対する感覚的強度の評定が認知的な影響を受けることが報告された。そこで、我々は一定濃度のトリエチルアミンを10分間提示し、その時の感覚的強度の時間依存性について検討した。その結果、感覚的強度の時間依存性は5つの型に分類され、最も多いのは一度減じてまた強く感じる変動型で、指数関数型は全観測データ数の約30%だった。

To estimate the collimator scatter factor, <i>S</i>_c of small field sizes in which a mini-phantom cannot be fully included at the nominal treatment distance (NTD=100 cm), we measured the in-air output of 4 MV and 10 MV X-rays of a Varian's Clinac 2100 C/D using a mini-phantom at NTD and at a long source-to-chamber distance (SCD=200 cm) with field-size defined at the isocenter down to 4.6×4.6cm² and 2.3×2.3cm², respectively. We then compared the fitted curve to the NTD dataset by a cumulative exponential distribution model with that by a cumulative Gaussian distribution (error function) model containing a zero-field extrapolated term derived from the long SCD dataset. The results showed that the zero-field extensions of two fitted curves coincided for a 4 MV X-ray, but a large discrepancy was seen between them for a 10 MV X-ray. Therefore, the <i>S</i>_c of small field sizes not measurable using a mini-phantom at the NTD can be well estimated by applying the cumulative exponential model to the NTD dataset in the case of a 4 MV X-ray beam filtrated with a cone-shaped flattener. However, to estimate the <i>S</i>_c of such small field sizes in the case of a 10 MV X-ray beam filtrated with a bell-shaped flattener, we consider it preferable to also measure in-air output at a long SCD and to apply the cumulative Gaussian model as described here.

岩手県下の沢内村, 雫石町および滝沢村において採集された成虫と幼虫の標本にもとづいて, 新種Atylotus hasegawaiハセガワキイロアブを記載した。本種はA. horvathi (Szilady)ホルバートアブとA. bivittateinus Takahasiフタスジアブに酷似しており, 外部形態による区別は容易でないが, その生態は明らかに相違している。これら近縁な3種の主な形態的特徴点についても比較を行なった。本種名は成虫を最初に採集された長谷川勉氏に献名したものである。

NHKは,音声認識技術を利用したニュース番組の生字幕放送をすでに実現しているが,スポーツなどの生放送番組については,背景雑音や発話スタイル等の問題があるため,直接その番組音声に対してリアルタイムで音声認識を行うことは困難である.そこで我々は,「リスピーカー(re-speaker)」と呼ばれる話者を起用し,この話者が番組音声を聞きながらその内容を言い直し,その声を音声認識することにより生放送番組の字幕放送を実現した.本稿では,ソルトレークシティーオリンピックの生中継において実際に使用された生字幕放送ための音声認識システムと,新たに構築した言語モデルおよび音響モデルの概要を説明する.また,音声認識率やテストセットパープレキシティーなどをもとに,リスピーカーによる言い直しの効果について報告する.

フランスのショーズ原子力発電所にニュートリノ検出器を建設し、原子炉ニュートリノにより第3のニュートリノ振動を確認し、θ13と呼ばれるニュートリノ混合角の測定を様々な解析方法で行った.(ダブルショー実験)これにより、ニュートリノ振動角が全て決定され、ニュートリノ振動によるCP非保存やニュートリノの質量階層性の測定に道を拓き、ニュートリノ物理の新展開を導いた.また、質量二乗差(Δm^2_<31>)を原子炉ニュートリノ振動の距離依存性の解析から世界で初めて測定した.

Nux Vomica contains strychnine and brucine which showed a strong pharmacological activity. Therefore, an improved method of analyzing these compounds is of value. For determination of these compounds in Nux Vomica, titrimetry is employed on JPX. Then strychnine and brucine in Nux Vomica and commercial pharmaceutical preparations including Nux Vomica extracts were identified by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and determined using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Samples were extracted with CHCl_3-MeOH (2 : 1). The extracts were passed through Sep Pak C_<18> cartridge and applied to TLC and HPLC. HPLCs of strychnine and brucine were carried out on Shodex ODS column and CH_3CN-H_2O (25 : 75) to which 1-heptanesulfonic acid was added as a counter ion for the solvent system. Recoveries from model preparations were more than 98%. This method was considered to be useful for the determination of strychnine and brucine in commercial preparations including Nux Vomica extracts.

癌研究者に株分与を行うため19系統のマウス基準系統を指定維持し、40施設に26系統合計371匹のマウスを分譲した。これらの基準系統については定期的に遺伝的モニタリングを行い、基準系統としての維持体制を確立した。また7施設から延46系統のマウスについて遺伝的モニタリングの依頼を受けた。近交系ラットについては委員の確立した近交系ラットを4機関で18系統維持している。これらのラット系統については10施設から8系統315匹の分譲依頼があった。この他にも無アルブミンラットを11施設に875匹供給した。また詳細なラットの遺伝的モニタリングについては生化学的マーカーを中心にパネルを完成し11施設の依頼により11系統について検討を行った。近交系モルモットについては予研の14系統の内13系統177匹を15施設に分与した。これらの違伝的モニタリングのための標識遺伝子の検索を進めほぼ完成に近づき系統別に生物学的特性を明らかにした。癌研究にしばしば用いられるコンジェニック系マウスとしてB10系9系統、A系6系統、C3H系5系統、BALB1C系2系統その他細胞表面抗原に関するもの7系統を定めて維持担当者を決め育成維持を行っている。これらのコンジェニック系統については37施設に53系統595匹の分譲を行った。ヌードマウス系統は遺伝的背景の異る3系を25機関に1707匹を供給した。また、新しく育成した遺伝的背景に特色のあるヌードマウス8系統については20件126匹の株の分与を行った。ヌードラットは遺伝的背景の異る3系を育成中であり6件83匹の試験的な分与も行った。受精卵凍結保存については技術的な改良を続けており、系統差による難易の差異の問題を解決しなければならない。微生物モニタリングについては4種の動物について11種の感染因子の検査を行い、10施設から46件2578検体の依頼を受けた。本委員会の活動を癌特ニュースに掲載し、また実験動物のリストを作成し配布した。
