Fifteen specimens (70.9–95.5 mm standard length) of the Indo-Pacific species Scorpaenodes corallinus Smith, 1957, previously recorded from Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, the Seychelles, Indonesia, Australia, the Hawaiian Islands, New Caledonia and French Polynesia, and recently collected from Okinawa Island (Okinawa Islands) and Yoron Island (Amami Islands), represent the first Japanese records of the species. Examination of a wide range of specimens indicated that the presence of coronal spines (formerly considered diagnostic of the species) was inconsistent. The new standard Japanese name “Ichigo-isokasago” is proposed for the species.

昨今,量子技術への関心が高まり,ニュースでもしばしば量子コンピュータや量子インターネットなどの話題が取り上げられる.中でも超伝導回路を用いた量子コンピュータの研究開発は,米国Google社やIBM社といった大企業が先頭を切って取り組んでいることもあり,大きな注目を集めている.その背景には,超伝導量子コンピュータの核となる要素回路であり,その誕生から20年を経てもなお進化し続けている超伝導量子ビット研究の進展がある.本稿では,超伝導量子ビット研究の最近の進展を紹介し,今後の課題について議論する.長い歴史をもつ電気回路工学やマイクロ波工学の研究分野も,「量子」という新しい視点で捉え直すと,また違った世界が開けてくる.

In daily life, we judge various things aesthetically. For example: “this picture is graceful”, “this landscape is dynamic”, and “his clothes are old-fashioned”. One aspect of our ordinary practices concerning aesthetic judgement seems to support objectivism, according to which, aesthetic judgment can be assessed as right or wrong based on some objective ground. However, another aspect of our practices seems to support subjectivism (or extreme relativism), according to which, aesthetic judgement is a mere expression of subjective impressions and cannot be assessed as right or wrong. In this study, I survey the dispute between objectivism and subjectivism in recent analytic aesthetics, and present an approach that supports objectivism. I argue that some aesthetic judgement is based on “evaluative perception”. It is a special class of perceptual experience affected by evaluative component of emotion and has Gestalt-like “parts-whole structure”. Furthermore, I claim that evaluative perceptions and aesthetic judgement based on it can be assessed as right or wrong in a similar way as ordinary perception and judgement based on it (e.g. colour perception and colour judgement) can be assessed.

本稿は、近世大名家に召し抱えられた忍びの事例として、徳島藩蜂須賀家の伊賀者について取り上げる。まずその成立過程として、天正伊賀の乱で伊賀国を追われた後、浜松城主の堀尾家に鉄砲部隊として仕え、大坂の陣などに参加した。堀尾家が改易となると、その一部は高松藩の生駒家へと仕え、生駒家改易後、徳島藩蜂須賀家に仕えた。蜂須賀家では伊賀者を中心に「伊賀役」という役職が設けられ、藩主の参勤交代の道中警備や、城や家老宅での番を勤めた。寛延2 年(1749)には、姫路藩の百姓一揆について、現地で調査を行っている。伊賀者の家格は「徒士格」で家督相続 の許された身分であった。これは、同じく堀尾家伊賀者にも由来を持つ、岡山藩の伊賀者と同様である。他藩の忍びと比較すると、藩主の護衛や他国の探索といった、職務の共通点が見られる。その一方で、待遇は藩によって大きく異なり、徳島藩の同じ伊賀者の中でも大きな差が見られた。

臨床検査において感度・特異度などベイズの定理が利用されていた. 近年, 病歴や身体所見の尤度比が報告されるようになり, ベイズの定理を用いたベッドサイドで確率的推論が可能になってきた. ベイズの定理の意味を再確認し, ベッドサイドで加法と乗法を用いた簡便な実用的2段階法を示した.

本研究は、心理教育とセルフモニタリングを用いて皮膚むしり行動への介入を行い、約3カ月で奏効した症例研究である。皮膚むしり行動は、その症状が重篤になると精神疾患の皮膚むしり症と診断され、その決定的なエビデンスのある治療はいまだ確立していない。本報告では、皮膚むしりをやめたいと訴えるクライエントへ1回30分、計9回のセッションが実施された。心理教育では、習癖(くせ)のメカニズムと対策案、爪かみや皮膚むしり体験者の情報などのオリジナル資料を用いた。ホームワークでは、皮膚むしり行動に拮抗する適応的な代替行動の試行とセルフモニタリングが導入された。その結果、皮膚むしり行動を制御できる自分自身に気づき、複数の代替行動が増加、皮膚むしり行動も減少した。効果は半年後にも維持されていることが確認された。

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) solutions were evaluated for their virucidal ability against a low pathogenic avian influenza virus (AIV), H7N1. HOCl solutions containing 50, 100 and 200 ppm chlorine (pH 6) or their sprayed solutions (harvested in dishes placed at 1 or 30 cm distance between the spray nozzle and dish) were mixed with the virus with or without organic materials (5% fetal bovine serum: FBS). Under plain diluent conditions (without FBS), harvested solutions of HOCl after spraying could decrease the AIV titer by more than 1,000 times, to an undetectable level (< 2.5 log10TCID50/ml) within 5 sec, with the exception of the 50 ppm solution harvested after spraying at the distance of 30 cm. Under the dirty conditions (in the presence of 5% FBS), they lost their virucidal activity. When HOCl solutions were sprayed directly on the virus on rayon sheets for 10 sec, the solutions of 100 and 200 ppm could inactivate AIV immediately after spraying, while 50 ppm solution required at least 3 min of contact time. In the indirect spray form, after 10 sec of spraying, the lids of the dishes were opened to expose the virus on rayon sheets to HOCl. In this form, the 200 ppm solution inactivated AIV within 10 min of contact, while 50 and 100 ppm could not inactivate it. These data suggest that HOCl can be used in spray form to inactivate AIV at the farm level.

認知機能の脳内機構を探るには,特定の能力のみが選択的に障害された純粋例が有用である.純粋失音楽症(pure amusia)はこれまでに9例報告され,右上/中側頭回の皮質・皮質下が共通して障害されていた.一方,音楽的情動だけが障害された音楽無感症(musical anhedonia)は,筆者による2例も含め,これまでに5例が報告され,右島後部から上側頭回が主に侵されていた.音楽の知覚・認知が障害されたにも拘わらず,音楽的情動が保たれていた症例が存在することから,両者は少なくとも一部は脳内で異なる神経基盤を有すると考えられる.これらの結果は,過去に報告された脳賦活化実験の所見とも一致している.今後も,症例研究と脳賦活化実験のそれぞれの特徴と限界を理解したうえでの検討が求められる.

砂糖液の加熱時における火力と最終温度がカラメルソースの色や味とどのような関係にあるかを明らかにするため実験を行い, 次のような知見を得た.1) カラメルソースの濃度は, その仕上がり重量がもとの砂糖重量の1.10~1.15倍がよい.2) 官能検査の結果, 強火では 210~230℃ 加熱のものが色・味ともに評価が高かった.これに該当するのは, 中火では220℃, 弱火では210℃加熱のものであった.3) カラメルの色は弱火で210℃, 中火で220℃, 強火で230℃になると急変しやすく, ばらつきが大きくて再現性に欠ける.4) カラメルソースの色価は 600 前後が適当である.5) カラメルソースの pH は, 加熱温度の上昇とともに低下する.6) 火力は強火よりも弱火のほうが温度が緩慢に上昇し, 低温で着色する.7) カラメルの調製法としては160℃まで強火にし, その後弱火で加熱するのが, 所要時間や調理操作上よいと考えられる.

The extent of rare side effects of mRNA vaccines for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remains unclear. Several cases of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) following COVID-19 vaccination have been reported. We herein report a 72-year-old man who presented with a fever after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. He was diagnosed with acute kidney injury due to myeloperoxidase-ANCA-associated vasculitis and was treated with intermittent hemodialysis, high-dose prednisolone, and intravenous rituximab. His general symptoms and renal impairment subsequently improved. When systemic symptoms are prolonged or renal abnormalities appear after COVID-19 vaccination, the possibility of AAV should be considered.

2011年東日本大震災では,地震動,津波,また液状化や地盤沈下等の複合的な要因により,太平洋岸を中心として19の火力発電所で計40ユニットが停止又は被災した.本研究では,火力発電所立地地点での外力の強さ,発電所設備の被害,停止日数等を整理したデータベースを構築し,その統計分析に基づいて,地震動及び津波に対する個別設備のフラジリティ曲線,機能停止の有無に着目した発電所施設のフラジリティ曲線,そして設備被害の発生状況をパラメータとした発電機能の停止期間予測式を推計した.これらの情報は,大規模地震災害時における火力発電所の被害想定や防災対策の立案に活用することができる.

製品の使用年数分布は耐久財のストックや排出量を推計する上で不可欠な情報である。日本では比較的多くのデータが報告されているが,推定に費用と労力,詳細な情報が必要であることから特に海外の情報は不足している。本研究では,基礎情報が比較的入手しやすい自動車を対象に世界各国の使用年数分布を推定し,各国間の比較を行った。また,分布パラメータの一般化を検討し,より簡易な使用年数分布推定の可能性を示した。

This paper explores the structure of sport culture using the concept of the “constructive outside” as proposed by Judith Butler. Issues of “sexual commodification” by female athletes, such as nude representations, have been on the rise since around 2000. Although most scholars explain this as resulting from a lack of funds for women's sport, explanation is based on the notion that a “woman” is a consistent entity. In addition, such perspective may ignore the power of sporting norms that implicitly universalize “masculinity” in sport. In this paper, I am concerned with the relation between the issues of the “sexual commodification” of female athletes and the function of the “constructive outside” that always surrounds sporting norms.
