超伝導は真に魅力的な現象だけど、実は結構ありふれていて多様な舞台で発現する。多くの金属は冷やすだけで超伝導になる。一方、強磁性は単純な現象だけど発現機構は非摂動的で自明でない。強磁性を示す金属はFe,Ni, Co の三つだけ。なので、ぼくは強磁性の起源の研究をした。
